^ Correct! In order for a true starter triangle to exist, they have to form the circle both in terms of SE and NVE hits. Dark breaks that. However, there are a few triangles that do exist. Someone made a list of them before 6th gen, but the only ones off hand I remember are Flying-Rock-Fighting, Ground-Poison-Grass and Fire-Rock-Steel

really? I'm sorry! I don't remember at all. I'm the worst.

I must work long and hard to discover my delicious side.

They were deleted before then. I tried managing two strings of development on my different machines and forgot to record that I had worked on those, so my fault entirely.

Good idea. I added a non-binary option to the list. Let me know if it doesn't work.

I've called it. I know exactly who the champion is!
Amethyst replied to Aquachu's topic in Reborn City
Ame didn't intend to put herself in her game in the first place but there wasn't really anyone else who made sense as a professor-esque character at the time. I'm not so narcissistic as to make myself the champion. -
Nice? Is that a food, can I eat it???

but let's be honest, if you sell me a black and purple crystally pokemon like that it's gonna be pretty hard for me not to buy it also that venusaur is a really cool concept So I started redoing the backsprites for existing shinies and I accidentally deleted them all. whoops. so new plan, I'm just going to go through the national dex number and do one gen each episode.

What's your opinion on grinding in reborn?
Amethyst replied to wowireallylovesweaters's topic in Reborn City
I detest grinding. One of my issues with a lot of "difficult" romhacks is that their idea of 'difficulty' is making full teams of Pokemon 20 levels above the player and letting them brawl it out. Unfortunately, that doesn't really work-- it just forces the player to grind for like 49 years to keep up. It's for this reason that I try so hard between things like the level cap, (newly) field effects, and team composition to make sure that leaders are difficult without relying solely on a level advantage. I want them to be a challenge, but that challenge should be about more than just the numbers. If players want to train up a new Pokemon to deal with a given gym, then I think that's totally cool and valid-- I feel like something like that is still true to the original spirit of Pokemon. But, I don't want players to feel like they have to do so. My general goal is to make leaders difficult in the way that the players' initial response is not to just train up some more, but to find a new strategy with their current team to beat that leader. This is much like our online league-- all battles are maxed out at level 100, so grinding is never an option. On the contrary, our most successful champions have been the challengers who were able to constantly find new ways to use their team. -
funny you mention that...

Correct! However, this isn't because of the EXP value entered for it-- trust me, that was the first thing I checked. I'm not entire surely why it was happening, but the EXP formulas were reworked between 10 and 10.5. Can anyone confirm if Metagross as of 10.5 is still giving stupidly small amounts of EXP? That's not quite true... In fact, all gyms have some sort of a mechanic before you can get to the leader, except: Kiki, Aya, Serra, Noel Granted, Corey's puzzle is kind of pathetic. Aya and Serra will definitely be receiving gym puzzles when I update their arenas for field effects. I'll probably re-do Corey's gym at some point as well. It was kind of half-assed tbh. Kiki's puzzle could arguably be substituted for by having to go beat Cal first. Noel's battle doesn't take place at his registered gym location (the Orphanage) since Sigmund wouldn't allow it, so there's not really any way he can have a proper puzzle.

Censoring it doesn't make a difference; this usage of the word is problematic. Out of respect to survivors of such incidents, and for the sake of no longer trivializing socially problematic violent crimes, we ask you find a different word. Anyway, I wonder who I would be if I were in the -- oh wait

Really no reason to wait 'till the end of March if it's in beta, but I have a person rule of letting it simmer there for at least a week. So it'll probably be public this weekend.

There's no point in doing a placeholder when most people won't look back at it, and especially when it doesn't get done in a timely manner In lack of that, your post looks somewhat hypocritical. Despite losing two resistances, I think Genesect specifically in Reborn has gotten stronger with 6th gen because of the weather change. Previously we had an over-abundance of weather teams which would almost be guaranteed to run swift swim/sand stream/chlorophyll sweepers that had no problem out-speeding and striking down a typical Genescarf set. Since we no longer have that constant overflow of speed it's much easier now than it was last gen for Genesect to find room to get its momentum going. This is the main reason that my stance on Genesect has changed. Previously I defended it staying in OU but in this meta, I do believe it's problematic. Incidentally, now that I think about it, I can pretty much say the exact same thing about Blaziken. So although I would typically want to keep Reborn's options more available than Smogon's, I think perhaps we do need to consider Blaziken as well. However, since this is a point of contention, I suggest we move forward with these changes, sans Genesect for now, and spend more time deciding what to do with Blaziken and Gensect. This way we can at least get some tiers going.

Do you think a full Pokedex will be possible in this game?
Amethyst replied to wowireallylovesweaters's topic in Reborn City
If someone were to find a way into that grass, then yes, they would find Mew. Why did I do this? In Pokemon Red and Blue there's tons of grass lining the outsides of Pallet Town. When I was younger some kid told me Mew could be found in that grass. I spent a lot of time trying to get to it. This is my revenge. -
How do genderless people describe their sexual orientation?

Aha, I've been proven wrong. Great to know, thank you -
You mean, like Episode 11?

If anything, I probably have Avoidant Personality Disorder, which is basically just a fancy term for extreme shyness.

Quite frankly, I agree that Nidalee is not a particularly effective team champion (which I severely lament, because I think she's one of the funnest champions to play)-- but I'm not sure how she can reasonably be called either no-skill or inherently toxic. A good opposing team is probably going to try and avoid scenarios where they're standing around getting poked out. Hard, quick engage is the answer to poke, so in that sense, the good Nidalee has to aim well and hit spears quickly before the team fight breaks loose. She depends on roaming fast early to snowball other lanes and split-pushing in the late game. She isn't a typical go-in-and-knock-out-the-enemy-team-5-v-5 champion but that doesn't mean she's toxic or no-skill, it just means she has a different playstyle, albeit perhaps less effective. I typically won't pick Nidalee though, unless we have a really strong late-game carry like Vayne/Yi/Tryndamere who needs their team to pull through mid game, and whom I can later boost up with the a-speed buff and soften targets up for them. On a different note, I haven't thought very highly in the past of AD Nidalee, but you imply that's stronger? What do you think a good build for her that way is?

A burning field is definitely something we'll see at some point (Grass Pledge + Fire Pledge or Grassy Terrain + one of the fire moves that currently destroys it) but I probably won't make anything so extreme as to faint on sending out a Pokemon. Not sure how I want to handle water/surfing/diving fields yet.
-
Feel free, but I won't make any promises on their being implemented. There's a lot of room to work with here. I also want to make some field effects that only occur by altering other ones. For instance, you'll notice if you destroy the Misty Field with Clear Smog it'll give a unique message-- "The mist was corroded away." In a case like that, I'd want to make a field effect where the mist becomes toxic. Things like that could be fun.
-
Strictly speaking, emotions are a habit, even down to a chemical level. Incident by incident, work on restraining yourself-- put logic before anger. It'll become easier and easier to do so as you practice it.
-
I mean, the entire reason this field exists is because of the XY Move Grassy Terrain >>; And yes, those Terrain moves do work now How was it in Gen IV? I forget. Anyway, that was not particularly fun, so yeah, I probably won't be doing that
