We nearly had them! They were down to bare reserves- a mere 12 Pokemon captured! ...And then this happened:
Rodaku- -Lilligant Mikey -Armaldo -Whirlipede -Staravia -Sealeo -Relicanth -Alakazam -Rotom-W -Golduck -Sharpedo Ame- -Leafeon -Sawsbuck Soty- -Walrein -Cloyster Ashley -Haxorus -Politoed -Erufuun -Kingdra Tink- -Serperior -Salamence -Lucario -Shandera -Milotic -Haxorus Allan- -Hitmonlee -Togekiss -Ninetales -Charizard -Lilligant -Jolteon -Kabutops -Toxicroak -Ludicolo -Gliscor -Gyarados -Ambipom -Mienshao -PorygonZ Kira- -Breloom -Qwilfish -Aron Andy- -Toxicroak -Drifblim -Rotom -Politoed -Typhlosion -Luxio -Charizard -Enbuoo Cyrus- -Nattorei Sanity- -Absol -Shiftry -Scrafty -Honchkrow Winter- -Mienshao -Leafeon -Gardevoir -Ainto -Gallade -Golurk -Gyarados Dre-Naomi- -Haxorus -Milotic -Serperior -Hydreigon -Lucario -Garchomp Ariel- -Zekrom -Rayquaza -Giratina -Dialga -Arceus -Reshiram
...Death to Ariel...

....I did not know about that, Dragonz. And sadly. Though if we get them down to just a few, it'll be easy to 6-0. We just have to win a few back every time... ....And NOT let them get Darkrai/Arceus/Kyogre/Wobbuffet next time. ><

Through out this night, Reborn has been attacked by Rockets... ...Again. Jessie and James seem to have some new tricks up their sleeves, and have devised a method of stealing Pokemon from trainers simply by KOing them in battle. The villains then turn around and use the Pokemon to defeat more. In order to recover the stolen Pokemon, they must in turn be defeated in combat... But it's a huge risk. Any Pokemon we take in to battle can be used against us if we lose it... So be careful as we attempt to return everyone's Pokemon... The current missing list:
Saya- -Gengar -Tyranitar Dragonz- -Nidoking -Rapmpardos -Aggron -Rhyperior -Regirock -Venasaur Rodaku- -Lilligant Winter- -Starmie -Blaziken Mikey -Lunatone -Solrock -Shandera -Heracross -Armaldo -Scizor -Yanmega -Venomoth -Volcarona Ame- -Leafeon -Sawsbuck Taro- -Golurk -Blaziken -Lucario -Hitmontop -Machamp -Conkledurr Cyrus- -PorygonZ -Cresslia -Hydreigon -Garchomp N- Klingklang Carracosta Aakeosu Zoroark Vanilluxe
If you encounter Jessie and James, please, help us recover our stolen Pokemon!
Here's how I look at AR/Sav: Are you just battling for fun with random people online? Then it's okay to Sav. Are you entering in a tourney that may have a prize, or just be within a group that agreed to not cheat? Then it's not okay to Sav.
I have to question the part about entering for a tourney with a prize- if there was no pre-agreed upon arrangement not to hack, chances are someone is going to do and if the other people don't, they may not stand much of a chance anyway...

I've fiddled with some settings.. If we suddenly get a massive influx of spam, someone alert me ASAP

Although this is largely known to anyone who's been on the server recently, I'm making an official post of it now (and also so that we have some good news for a change~) League is officially re-open to normal times today. Fern and Victoria should be settled in, the Line-Up and Schedules are updated. You can find links to those to the left. Please known that almost all Leaders have changed their scheduled days, so take a look at the list to be aware of that. Additionally, thanks to amazing efforts of Nyu and TheScarletSword we should actually have a fully automated system for trainer cards by Monday. No more waiting times, or people slaving over Graphics Gale, hooray! There is just a little bit more left to do, and then we will have it underway. What would be greatly helpful to me in the mean is if anyone who has not yet received a card, or whos current card is not updated fully, would please PM me with all badges that they have earned. Don't bother lying, I'll be checking them against our records. But if you do that, it will ensure that we get you into the system ASAP. Thank you all~

Lucky Drill Fearow (M/F) @ Razor Claw Trait: Sniper EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe Jolly Nature - Drill Run - Drill Peck - Quick Attack - U-turn This set may not be the most practical, but aims to abuse Fearow's few new 5th gen toys as much as possible. It's one of three fully evolved Pokemon in the entire game to have access to the move Drill Run, a ground type move with an increased critical hit rate. Coupled with its Dream Wolrd ability, Sniper, which raises the power of critical hits, and the Razor Claw item boosting the chance of getting one you could potentially get some power shots off with some good luck- but still, it's not someting to be counted on. The remainder of the moves exist for STAB/Priority/Functionality respectively.

Scarf Raticate (M/F) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Hustle EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe Adamant Nature - Double-Edge - Crunch - Wild Volt - Revenge Raticate won't be crawling out of the lower tiers any time soon but despite that, it's gotten a nice, if potentially risky, boost from the Dream World ability Hustle. Its attack is multiplied 1.5x allowing it to get some decent power, especially out of a STAB Double-Edge. Crunch takes care of the ghosts that might bar your way, while Wild Volt provides a second decent attack for coverage. Raticate's options for dealing with Steel/Rock types are limited to Revenge, which will most likely not get its double-power boost, or Dig. Naturally, Revenge is chosen, but still will be underwhelming.

Haha. I like dem apples just fine. Nonetheless I might just go around and friend everyone soon. XD

I'm STILL working on the map! It hasn't been forgotten! D:

It takes Skill Cinccino (M/F) @ Life Orb/Razor Claw/Razor Fang Trait: Skill Link EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe Adamant/Jolly Nature - Sweep Slap - Bullet Seed - Rock Blast - Encore/Thunder Wave Cinccino itself is a pretty predictable Pokemon. With good speed, decent attack, it's off to a decent start, but it's real value comes from the little bone Gamefreak threw it. On top of its STAB signature move, Tail Slap, it gets two other moves Bullet Seed and Rock Blast, all of which abuse its ability, Skill Link. These multi-hit moves have been souped-up since 4th gen, and Cinccino is ready to show what they can do. While those threw form a fairly solid and standard offensive core, walled only by Steel Types, our little cutie here has some variety within that to find. Mostly, the item of choice- Life Orb, of course, boosts the power of these attacks- something Cinccino likes a lot given that it may not OHKO (or 5HKO depending on how you look at it) many bulkier threats (although it'll leave a nice dent in even the best walls). On the other hand, the Razor items take advantage of pure ods. One adds the potential for an attack to flinch, while the other increase the chance of a critical hit. With each attack, you hit five times more than any other, and therefore, your odds of either of these things happening is increased five fold. Risky, but often worth it. The nature is probably going to depend on the chosen fourth move. If using Thunder Wave, crippling your opponents and guaranteeing Cinccino to outspeed, the extra power from Adamant will be a welcome boost. If not, however, Cinccino best makes use of its excellent speed using Encore to lock opponents into harmless moves and slowly chip away at them.

Registration is closed, TXII is officially open. Because of the low number of entrants, 3rd place has been dropped and the tournament is now Round Robin, meaning you have two weeks to battle all of the other entrants. Remeber, POST THE LOG IN THIS TOPIC OR IT WILL NOT COUNT

Band Together! Pidgeot (M/F) @ Choice Band Trait: Tangled Feet EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe Jolly Nature - Return - Brave Bird - U-Turn - Pursuit Pidgeot really doesn't have a lot going for it, but it gets some powerful STAB in Brave Bird and Return, along with a decent speed stat to carry it through. With a choice band, it can deliver a solid blow to anything that's not Rock or Steel type. U-Turn and Pursuit exist for utility in prediction of switches, should your opponent figure out what's about to come at them.

Lead Beedrill (M/F) @ Focus Sash Trait: [Ability] EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spe IVs: 0 HP/0 Def/0 SpD Naive Nature - Toxic Spikes - Endeavor - Agility - Baton Pass Unfortunately, the long and short of it is that Beedrill is not a very good Pokemon in any respect whatsoever. It has only a few things going for it, including Toxic Spikes, which earns this Pokemon its placement as a lead. Speed is maxed to allow you the greatest chance of getting both layers up in combination with your focus sash- But even with maxed speed, it's moderate at best. The set is outclassed even in lower tiers as a spiker alone, but Beedrill has one other toy that can help shift the momentum in your team's favor- that being Endeavor, for after you've taken a hit already. In most cases, you may have to sacrifice the second layer of Toxic Spikes for the endeavor- unless you can pull off an Agility before hand and stay safe- allowing you a chance to get all three in depending on your opponents' tactics. Finally, Baton Pass can send that +2 speed boost to something in your party that wants it a bit more. Over all, the support options are decent, but Beedrill remains sadly underwhelming even in NU.

Currently registered: Allan TinkeryIt Bullet Dragonz ScarletSword N8theGr8 If we only have this many people, it'll be a Round Robin tournament, and there won't be a 3rd place... Soooo people should registerize themselves! Quick, while there's still time

If you're active on the server and care about the league in the slightest, you probably have some clue of what went on at the end of last week... But to clarify: Gardevoir, Luna and Elias have gone missing. Florinia and Kiki have resigned. Suddenly we're down four leaders. Now, in truth, Luna and Elias have disappeared before, so... I'm fairly certain they'll come back. In what condition, I cannot say, but... I am not searching for replacements for them just yet. Florinia and Kiki, on the other hand, I should clarify though. Florinia has left us to pursue her own... interests, I suppose. She has said that she has been participating in this league and the request of her friends, Julia, Titania, Amaria, previously- that she isn't even truly interested in it, the grass type, or Pokemon, but has been forced into these things by the people in her life. She is finally leaving to make her own life for once. Which, while sad for us, we can only wish her the best in. So, Florinia, At the time that she announced this, she also declared that she wanted her younger brother Fern to be her replacement. I have been hesitant to acquiesce this request, but... If only out of respect for her own decision, Fern will be joining us as the new Grass Gym Leader. And then Kiki... As some people may or may not know, she has been sick for weeks. Last week, she had a... less than typical outburst, and suffered largely failure in battle since then. Also last week, she found herself in the hospital... Where she has told me she is again this weekend, and may not be leaving. I talked to her about it, and the condition she has is called Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. As I understand it, and this may not be completely accurate given I am not medically-inclined, but- Lupus causes her immune system to turn on her own body, and slowly hurt her from the inside out. It causes a rash of symptoms, no pun intended, but is not normally fatal, particularly if treated- only occasionally detrimental. This is the reason she has been able to continue so far in the league. ....However, recently that changed. She developed something called Nephirits, a complication on SLE in which the inflammation caused by the assault on her own body results in kidney failure... and in time, death. I honestly don't know if the Nephiritis can be cured, or even helped. But she will be in the hospital for quite some time... ...I think this is not what she had in mind, when she spoke of "the chaos within." In response to this, I'd like to get the community to organize some sort of get-well-card that we can send her... But I think I'll post details on that at a later time. At any rate, she anticipated this possibility, and instructed me to organize a replacement for her. Joining us along with Fern will be one of Kiki's students. Her name is Victoria, and she will be resuming Kiki's position. However, both of them are untrained at the time, and while we're also waiting for Luna and Elias, and for me to make the new sprites and get the theme (and trainer cards!) updated and all that other business... The league will have some down-time for us to sort this out. We will probably be out for at least three days- perhaps all week if that's what it takes, but I'll promise now we will be back by next week at the latest, and ready to go. With all this vanishment, there's been talk of the Reborn League falling apart. To that I say, lolno. Give us a bit. We'll get this sorted out. ...On that note! If anyone would like to help us, it would greatly, fantastically appreciated. We have a -ton- to do, and a lot it is fairly simple, if tedious. Additionally, we need somebody to help out with rankshifts. N8 has been overly busy as of late, and can no longer attend to it, so if somebody would like to take up the job, please please please, talk to me about it.
-
It's interesting that the concept of free will is dragged in from opposite perspectives. N8's idea that people have no free will is actually psychologically based, but extremely difficult to explain if only because the entire principle wraps itself in the tautology that it's based on. There are two doors. One leads further into the maze, the other emits a shock as you touch its handle. Try the left one. Shock. Try the right. Next room: There are two doors. One leads further into the maze, the other emits a shock as you touch its handle. Try the left one. Shock. Try the right. Next room: There are two doors. One leads further into the maze, the other emits a shock as you touch its handle. Try the left one. Shock. Try the right. Next room: There are two doors. One leads further into the maze, the other emits a shock as you touch its handle. ...You're probably not going to want to touch that left handle. Now, this can be said to be a result of cognitive reasoning and conditioned behavior, yes. And that at each path, the person chooses of their own free will which door to pick. But assuming the person is sane, and does not wish to receive a shock, the person would invariably continue to choose the right for as long as they found this pattern to be true. Is that really their choice? Or is it the structure of their mind that has propelled them down that path and fooled them at once into thinking that it was their own decision. If things had happened this way to the same person on multiple planes of existence, would the person always choose the right path every time? And if so, how can we be sure that he is really choosing, and not just rationalizing to himself the subconscious conditioned behavior. In that sense, if I have made my meaning adequately clear, then we have no free will. On the other hand, if you believe that the cognitive process is propelling the decision rather than conditioned behavior, and that across multiple planes the subject may choose to try one or the other door at any given time, then there is no rationalization, and we do have free will. The process and result is the same; it's just a matter of how you want to interpret the blank space between. Being that we at this time in technology and psychology cannot measure the thoughts of a person, if we are looking at this scenario objectively, we can probably rationally say that the subject does not have free will- because to us, and from an epistemological perspective, their thoughts do not exist. However, if you yourself as the person who is reading and thinking about this right now were to enter this "maze" you would have free will in it, because you are clearly in touch with your own cognitive process and -know- that it is not simply conditioned behavior. But nobody else can ever know that. So in short, you are the only person who has any free will. ...That's what I think anyway. Reality changes based on who's viewing it. In my world, I am the only one with free will- but I realize that you all believe you do too. I just can never truly know that. ...I digress. It becomes a matter of the self. What one wants to believe. So new question: Are you, yourself, "good" or "evil"?

It's so weird to think something that's only given me absolutely minimal trouble (that being when Ikaru uses Reuniclus to deny Topaz its Leech Seed) can pose such a problem for Bullet... I love this game. XD Terakion, I dunno. Rain team, Rock Pokemon- naturally I never see it do anything all that useful, but I've also heard it's a beast at triples. And then Espeon. Being that my team -doesn't- use entry hazards, or have a spinner, etc, I've found Espeon's ability to be incredibly useful. No one can deny that it doesn't have the bulk to keep switching in and out, sure but what I like about it still is that it's then up to how the player wants to use as to if it's going to be effective. Even so, it gets dual screens and Wish that can help it survive/support even if it doesn't- and it's stats are still good enough to function as a revenge kill, or even with enough set up, a sweep. Regardless, I find it crucial in countering certain enemy pokemon such as Sableye, Breloom, enemy Whimsicott, so on. I think the issue is that Bullet sees Espeon as more of an ability than a Pokemon, where I'm trying to focus on the Pokemon's normal talent, with the ability as its deserved bonus. Now if only Umbreon got Magic Mirror... Or at least Magic Guard. Something? But come on guys, Inner Focus? Really? T_T

Sharpedo, Ice Fang. I used to have Starmie for Ice Beam, but not so much anymore. Doryuuzu is going to have a difficult time OHKOing Carracosta even with Rocks unless its danced. That thing has some defense on it. I just woke up, I don't even know if this has anything to do with this or what this topic is about anymore...

Of course not inherently. But I'm asking from your own perspectives. Regardless of what the absolute or relativistic definitions are, just, in terms of what the words mean to you personally, are they good or bad? Another, less ethically blurred way, to ask is... Are people trustworthy? Not certain people, but the population as a whole. There are other ways to approach it, but I think you get what I'm getting at?
