Brief update: Firstly, as a note, there will be no league this Friday, because by some chance all of us Ikaru, Saya and Myself will not be able to attend. How we're all missing the same day? Magic. Hello everyone! So after dodging around the internets for the past couple weeks, I've decided that there are certain bandwagons that need jumping on. Namely- Well, actually, our forum software, Invision Power Board, is one of the two most popular professional foruming systems out there, the other being vBulliten. You might recognize vBulliten from sites such as Mysidia or PokeCommunity, but in truth I've never been a fan of it. That said, we're actually running a very old version of IPB- a 2.3 board whereas the current version is 3.1. Yikes. Now it's not as if this wasn't deliberate on my part. The truth is, when 3.x was first released, just before this site went live again, there were [i]no[/i] good skins for it, so I chose to remain with the old version (one that I am actually highly familiar with, and knew I could to some extent customize and work with). However, like I said, after browsing some our neighboring sites, I'm finding that 3.1 is actually suddenly [i]really popular[/i] and contains many new features, such as displaying new posts, giving users their own blogs, status updates, mobile device support and generally being much smoother. Additionally the support network for 3.1 seems to be much greater than this archaic version... So in short, I think it's finally time to upgrade. ...I'm not too happy about this, actually. Why? Because not three weeks ago I had just finished investing a huge amount of energy into synchronizing the appearance of the mainsite with that of the forums- and now the appearance of the forums is going to change entirely and the mainsite suddenly needs to be redone and when I had just done the new banners and skins they need to change too and the whole thing is just a very large scale operation of BLAH. But I'll get over it. But! On the note of the forums' appearance- this is where you guys come in- I'm torn as to which skin to use. Now, my license on our forum software is legit and perpetual- meaning I can upgrade us no problemo (I paid 200 dollars; I better get my money's worth out of it. >.>). But the skin is a different story. The free skins are still classless in my opinion, but hunting around some professional design sites, I've found a few options that I would be okay with. I'd like to leave the final decision to you guys. Don't worry about the price- none are too expensive and I'm willing to ford the cost. A lot of the others I've heard are just to make the whole challenge a bitch. You can only go to each Pokemon Center once. You may not buy any items from the Pokemart. If an HM Pokemon faints, you may not use the HMs it knows. Depositing a Pokemon to a box is equivalent to its death (so therefore, no more than 6 pokemon at a time, at all.) You may not trade from other games. You may not use the Daycare. I think that's about it...

Well, the fact is, you might have internet like mine- If you're behind a Dynamic IP address and you can't make it static, you won't be able to port forward and you won't be able to run a server. This is why I had to have Nyu host it for me.

A recent study found that nearly 48% of all league battles are in the entry-level positions. In theory, this means that if we streamline just those few leaders out of the waiting list, things ought to move a lot faster. So we are. Henceforth, Ikaru and Saya Monoke are lending us their time and energy, and will be helping me run league each night. With their systems and management provided, we now have thrice the machines behind the league, thrice the people, and so, we should get through it thrice as fast, and hopefully more to the people who need to leave sooner. As an addendum to this, this also means we probably will not run for the full four and a half hours as we normally do- it won't be necessary for now as we don't have -that- many people by any means. However, we won't declare a set close time until we find it necessary, probably based on how the next week or two go. At any rate, everyone please thank them. This week also is going to be a bit of a test drive for this process, so please bear with us in our potential organizational catastrophes as we work through it all. That said, I firmly believe that in the end, this will work out just fine. On that note, you all are probably wondering exactly how this is going to work. Well, if you were around last week, you'll know that we no longer use the Topic for sorting through the league. Instead, Nyunyu has generously coded in a separate queue system, working roughly the same way. What you all didn't know is that that system allows for multiple queues. And so we will have three different lines: I am in charge of the Main Line. The Main Line contains the following leaders: Florinia, Shade, Terra, Kiki, Hardy, Heather, Radomus, Titania, Amaria, Lin. Ikaru is in charge of the White Line. The White Line contains these leaders: Julia, Shelly, Luna, Elias Saya Monoke is in charge of the Black Line, which contains: Cain, Cal, Blake You can see these reflected in the League Leader Schedules, accessed on the left side-menu. The biggest change for challengers is that this means you will have to decide, if not which leader you will fight ahead of time, instead of on the spot, or at least have enough of an idea who that you can tell us which line you need to be in. These lines can and probably will change in time as we find it necessary, as may this system, but consider it a step towards a quicker, better league.

Actualy I don't dislike Reuniclus at all, I just don't like it when compared against Gothitelle specifically. Furthermore, my thoughts on all this White Forest stuff are as follows: Blahfuckeryhumbug. I trust Nintendo to make Black City worth its while somehow, even if we don't know how that is at this time. Also I strongly prefer Iris to Shaga... I was disappointed when I found out he even had a possibility to be a leader. I don't care about the dad, I care about the energetic girl. Duh.

Ballerfree Butterfree (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Compoundeyes EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Butterfly Dance - Sleep Powder - Substitute - Giga Drain I. Love. This Butterfree. These are words I thought I would never say. There is one very simple reason for this: Compoundeyes. A typically overlooked ability- increases Accuracy by 30%, who cares? WAITAMINUTE. Sleep Powder's accuracy is 75%. 75x1.3= 97.5% accuracy sleep move. [b]Butterfree basically has Spore.[/b] It also has a base speed to match Breloom- but one thing Breloom doesn't have, the ability to boost its own speed (and special attack, and special defense) in the form of the wicked Butterfly Dance. To use it is not unlike Breloom. Come in one something that you're faster then. Put it to sleep with almost no risk, get your sub up for safety, and dance. After a single Butterfly Dance, your speed reaches 393, meaning you're faster than nearly everything. Add that onto your near guaranteed sleep move, sub for back up, and you're free to set up. Giga Drain is the move of choice to buffer your health between subs if Leftovers while your enemies snore aren't enough. <3

Bellyzard Charizard (M) @ Salac Berry Trait: Blaze EVs: 12 HP / 244 Atk / 252 Spd Lonely Nature (+Atk, -Def) - Substitute - Fire Punch - Dragon Claw - Belly Drum He's back, he's bad(@$$), he's Bellyzard. As with any Belly Drum set, Stealth Rocks on your side are a big NO, especially given Charizard's 4x weakness to it, which literally ruin this set from the get go. Using this as a lead, or with spin support is therefor preferred. If you can get past that minor discrepancy and get your sub up, you will be golden. With the given EVs, a single sub and Belly Drum bring you just low enough to active Salac Berry and Blaze, giving you 448 speed, and an attack of 1164. Blaze-boosted Fire Punch is all the power you need to go along with it, but in conjunction with Dragon Claw, Charizard has an attacking combo unresisted by anything bar Heatran. Death rides on swift +1 wings.
