  1. Meteor admin isn't an optional switch; but I feel strongly about the others, sorry. Like you say, I'd suggest just replacing it yourself ^^
  2. this is currently incorrect in the community release and has been solved for public. very sorry.
  3. i guess it got into something since the battle...
  4. Yeah, it's a sacrifice no matter where I put it in, but I figured aside from adding an out for players who aren't up to the challenge the game internally offers, as well as enabling specialized runs from the get-go, it would probably add more value than it would remove.
  5. Meteor Admin was broken for many people which is why it had to be replaced. given the amount of feedback on the matter, the compressed tracks will be reverted for the public release. CrossImpact, that download is pretty helpful even for me, it will save me a lot of time in reverting them; thank you. About the money gain... Is it consistently ~1.5k for all trainers in the late game? Because that actively seems... blatantly incorrect based on the parameters I discussed changing. Those low of values are not intended. I'll review this.
  6. I actually was just adding the OTs as a neat little characterization thing... I admittedly didn't realize it would boost EXP. You guys okay with this? Would you rather them not do that cuz of the level cap? (not that i am promising being able to change that)
  7. It's been a really long ride, huh? This isn't the first time I've gotten to 10,000 posts... but I forgot last time lol ;;;; anyway the forum recounted previously deleted posts as of the upgrade, so post counts sunk, and so I get another chance to make this special. So I'll say this the only way I know how, okay? Thank you for understanding.
  8. It's stored in one of a number of slots, yeah. The slot you receive from is randomly selected, provided you did not place it there. Random Battles are probably low responsive just because there are not a ton of people playing online at any given time, so timing is everything.
  9. Making these practical from the get-go was one of the main reasons we made online accessible immediately, so I hope you will enjoy them!
  10. Hi there, I noticed the topic was moved but did you ever get the updated link to the PBS files?

This update was too big for me. :)

  12. If you need your most recent trainer card or sprite, please feel free to PM me for it. I still have all existing files saved. But yes, we decided to retire those generators because they were a bit rusty and weren't being properly updated.
  13. Okay yeah, this notification system has definitely won me over too. It almost makes it seem like I'm paying attention.

I'd like this notification system a lot better if it didn't mark every notification as read when I click the button.....

  14. After you used the Escape Rope, where did you appear? It's probably important to fixing this.
  15. It's not like I'm selling them or anything. I'm just trying to piece together an income to live off so I can dedicate myself to them fully. If you would like, then please, it would certainly be appreciated! Actually I've worked on a lot of different games when I was younger... but in truth it's nothing I want to share because I was very sm0l and had a lot to learn back then. I'm proud of how far I've come now, so I choose to focus on the future. I'm currently working on two projects besides Reborn, one being the else-mentioned Starlight Divide, and the other being something that is best kept behind as many closed doors as possible. Not quite. I was drawing Fakemon even before then, but I didn't have any real ambitions of making a Pokemon game... I didn't think it was possible for me. I tried Romhacking a couple times but wow that's an unholy disaster. The earliest traces of Reborn were from when I was 14. I sprited the badges and came up with the leader names back then for a personal challenge for a friend. Then I made that challenge public years later as what became the Reborn League. Then that spiraled into all of this beautiful mess here. Speaking of projects in the past though, Starlight Divide is also the evolution of a project I was working on when I was 16. So... in a way I'm still carrying forward some of my old games. ...Anyway, hi. It's 24 hours later and all of my expectations have been thoroughly exceeded. To everyone who was able to pledge, thank you guys so, so much! -- but you might've seen I already said so on that side. To everyone who wishes to pledge but can't, or can't yet-- I completely understand. It will mean just as much to me if you're able to in the future, but knowing that everyone has my back with this is a huge relief in itself too. Thank you all for sticking with me through everything.
  16. when you fix something by accident but dont understand why its fixed

  18. Hello and welcome to the new site! E16's community release is now available, but per the name, it is only accessible to registered forum members! If you happen to be a registered forum member, please sign in and head over here to get it! If you are not a registered forum member, it is not too late to change that. However please be aware that the reason we do Community Releases is not just a plot for registration, but because there may still be fatal bugs in the download and we want to make sure that anyone who encounters such bugs will be around for the updates to fix it. Please feel free to register and play the episode, but also consider sticking around for further updates! Thank you all for being patient with us through development and the site update! Enjoy! 19. Hello! So this is a little foreign to me, but please hear me out. Actually, I don't know how to say this, so I'll just put it straight-- I've started a Patreon. For those of you who don't know, Patreon is a crowdfunding platform that works on a monthly basis. Fans pledge to donate a small amount each month (totally up to the individual) and then in return, much like kickstarter, they get a set of rewards for that in return. This system allows people to support content creators that wouldn't otherwise have a way to make a living, and lets them make a living out of doing their thing! ...Like me! It is not really a secret that this kind of thing is my passion, and I would love to make games for you all for forever. But real life calls-- and the reason this is happening now is because my company just shut down. So I lost my job and I'm out on the metaphorical streets. And I could get another job... but it probably wouldn't let me work on Reborn as much. No matter what, I want to do what's going to give me the most time to make my games. And that happens to be this. I know a lot of you might be nervous about my accepting money for working on the project, given the copyright monster and all.. I am too. So let's talk about that. There's a few things I have going for me: We are not the first fangame to have a Patreon This Patreon is for all of my games, not just Reborn. I'm taking care not to be very public about connecting Reborn to this (although we all know that that's why most if not all of you are here). That's also why this topic is in a forum only registered members can see. Patreon itself operates in a kind of grey area where the donations are not for the intellectual property of (in this case) Pokemon, but for the work that the creator is doing. ...Based on those things, I'm hoping for the best. My end goal here is to eventually build up enough support that I can work on my games full time. That'll mean finishing Reborn first, but also Starlight Divide and another project that my Patrons will learn more about than they probably will ever have wished to. That always starts somewhere... So it would mean the world to me if you could pledge even just a dollar. Please visit the page to see what kind of rewards I'm offering for various levels of patronage! And, thank you so, so much for standing with me here, and for taking the time to read all this. Your support would mean the world to me.
  20. Patience is a virtue. And it pays off. It has been a very long road, so I do not wish to keep you here long. But before we get to the fun stuff, let's chat. It's been a year and a half since our last release, and many of you were not even around back then. Firstly, it means so much to me that many of you love this game so much not only to stick around here all that time, but to keep spreading it a long. It makes my day-- but not just my day. Probably my whole life. Thank you all for being a part of this. That said, especially for those of you who have not been around before, we should be clear on some things: Here are some critical points for E16 in particular! Okay, had enough yet? Not hardly! Below is the list of notable changes (Field Effect changes will be in the Readme)! Mirror 1 (Mega) Mirror 2 (Local; prefer other mirror) Finally, I know many of you are already happily prancing off with your links right now, but if you have a moment while they're downloading, I have a little more to say about my personal side of things, and I will do so over here. Thank you for staying with us through all this time, and please enjoy the episode! edit: Ame may have neglected to mention this, but please go over to the online information thread and give that a read before using the online features! ~ Marky Mark and the Codey Bunch
  21. Welcome! Please have a seat, get comfy, update your bookmarks, and explore the new site! Although we had been preparing for it for a while, everything you see here has only come together over the past few days! Please understand if there is still some dust, such as broken links, missing information, so on and so forth. All of your accounts have been preserved, however please be aware that your log in name may have changed. On the previous version we had Log In names and Display names. Log In names have been removed so you should now log in using your current Display Name. If you find any errors, please report them in our Site Inquiries forum, and if you have any questions, our lovely Staff will be more than happy to help. I'll also say this once more: We have changed URLs to something slightly more professional (and less likely to get smited by the copyright gods), so please update your bookmarks! Links pointing to old site will get redirected back here for the time being but other things may not, so it will not hurt to go over any saved information relating to the site. Staff, I'll be counting on you for a lot of that too. Thank you for being patient with us during the upgrade! View full article

    Welcome!

Hi! Welcome to the new development blog! The old forum was a bit cluttered, so I figured a new system would be best. Unfortunately I don't really have anything to blog about just now given the fact that we're coming right up on the community release-- and it'll be available by the time you read this after all. But we'll put it to good use soon, along with the progress bar widget we all know and love right in the top right of the page. For now, we're going to wait just a little bit before making the episode public. To restate, the reason we do Community Releases is because it's kind of a second wave of beta testing. Sometimes fixes we make during the beta break other things, but since that group of people has already played through it, it doesn't get caught. So it helps to have more people play just in case! After a week or two-- hopefully not longer-- when I'm confident the Community Release is stable, it'll be pushed to the main page for the Public Release, and then I can start work on E17! I hope everyone is looking forward to that as much as I am! Please feel free to leave comments down below; I always enjoy reading what everyone says.
  23. Really sorry timing that the site went down like right after you posted this... but uh, listen. You don't know how to sprite, you don't know how to code, and you're not going to learn if you avoid doing them because of that. I was not born good at spriting. I got better at it because when I was 10 I wanted to make games and so, not knowing a thing about it, I just went ahead and did the best my little ten year old self could do anyway. It was bad-- but more importantly, it was a start. And so eventually it became not bad. I think game projects are actually especially good for learning those things because they give you no shortage of end goals to work towards. Whether or not you finish the project and whether or not it's good, if you keep working on it then you're going to get better. And if you don't, then you won't. It is not easy, but it also not impossible. So throw caution to the wind and make that choice for yourself, hon. As for programs, the reason you're told different things is because some of it is up to personal preference. My preferences: RMXP + Pokemon Essentials (non-negotiable), Graphics Gale (spriting), Notepad++ (notes/organization/clean scripts), Goldwave (sound editing), Fruityloops (music) boom, done.
