I started out as a theatre major, but realized that a theatre degree was approximately as useful as blank printer paper, so I switched to psychology, and graduated with a major in that and minor in women's studies. i mean hey good luck that gives me more time to do other stuff if i can trust other-me has here covered

Pokemon are usually defined in a text file, but alternate forms are defined in a script section. Basically it uses all the same attributes and then they're adjusted by the scripts for whatever needs to be changed. Meowstic, as well as every form change in the game uses this (including megas), but Alolan pokemon will probably be most like Shellos where it depends where they're from (+ a lot more changes besides appearance, of course) no fuck that i dont want to wait until post-game for my pretty alolan ninetales i want her by my side at all times no but really ill have to rework all of availabilty/trainers/fields/tms/leaders for gen 7 so fml tbh benefit of doing that in the last episode will be that it can be a final balance check ish -- about halfway done with beryl. and i think it was the bigger half. or at least the half with more in it. unless i'm a squib i should be able to finish it tomomo

i was upset today to discover (through playing Rejuvenation, no less) that a certain graphic I spent a solid couple hours a few weeks ago spriting, actually already existed in Essentials by default. and the one i sprited from scratch, not having even known about the existing one, was almost completely identical aauuuu. whatever, mine's still cleaner. jasper is done. honestly shouldnt have taken as long as i did but hey who called it (i called it) beryl is very larrrrg but hopefully it doesnt stall me for nearly as long.

I won't go into detail, but I definitely have been doing the same sort of thing. Not with Reborn since the circumstances behind that are different, but with pretty much every playable character in Starlight they're representative of a specific emotional conflict I have or have had. Sometimes if I'm like upset or crying or whatever, I'll stop myself and realize... "all right, well, this conflict belongs to X character, how are they going to get over it?" and so I sort of save it away to write into them when the time comes, and then try to jump myself to their conclusion.

on one hand it's cool that they're finally doing this form that has apparently been foreshadowed in other media for years. on the other hand. i have no clue how i or anyone else is supposed to fit that beast into a 96x96 sprite. coldsteel the hedgehog is an improvement but my impressions are too stained by its ground type counterpart for me to care greatly.on the other hand, the ninetales... ohhhmygoddd the ninetales... yes please i will take 12, thank you. 7th gen will definitely happen just because of ninetales alone. i think it may have jumped up into my top 3 favorite pokemon. my thoughts on z-moves are best summed up in an illustrious phrase i heard long ago. that phase is something like,why ​I'm concerned. I was concerned about Mega Evolutions too, and Megas turned out to be really healthy for the metagame, but not so hot for the in-game experience where- hey, you could already steamroll every gym leader with one pokemon easily, but now you can do it with a super-saiyan Pokemon! Anyway, Megas were not without merit so I'm hoping this will be the same way, but I am hesitant because I cannot imagine that Z-moves will be particularly significant for game balance unlike Megas since 1- as far as I can tell it's not so worth it to team build around them, and 2- it's probably just going to be relegated to a get-out-of-trump-card free move for battles even if it were ever necessary. also i dont think its particularly compelling to just have superstrongmove on an enemy either like what's that gonna do hey check it out one (1) of your pokemon is probably going to get OHKO'd whenever this move is used. wow, compelling gameplay!! I'll be the first to admit I have a lot of salt about Pokemon's battle system, but I am trying very hard to give them the benefit of the doubt here and I'm just not feeling it. I don't think I've streamed since Dylan and I dropped the Tales thing. I sort of struggle with it. As a theatre kid, I'm not exactly stage-shy, but I seem to have a tendency to put off streaming a lot, never really feeling like it, never really feeling up to it, so forth. It's a little stressful for me tbh. Kinda the same with Youtube videos actually, but those can be done on a whim at 3am where as streaming at 3am is sometimes less effective. So I figure between the two I should put my energy towards videos since those will last longer than one night and also probably take less time. In regards to games, I feel like when I'm streaming something new to me, I can't really take the time to enjoy it. Like with Undertale, for instance. I haven't played anymore of Undertale since streaming it, but I don't really feel like I got a good feel for it before between watching chat + trying to keep moving so it didnt stall out. I play things at the speed of dirt usually, and that might be because I often take time to savor or analyze elements of them. YouTube videos are a bit better for me there too since I can cut out the ten minutes of down-time where I was chasing my tail or staring off into the distance looking up a kanji compound or something. League is also something I've streamed in the past and that was fun-- but my default position towards that is that I should get better first. In regards to development... I may try and do more of that (especially since if I ever did get on through Patreon or something like that I'd want to feel comfortable doing that sort of thing for patrons regularly). But I wrestle between energy levels, focus, and also not wanting to spoil parts of the game for people-- then again maybe if players are concerned about that they would just not watch. A lot of this probably sounds like reasons for me not to, but I'm not saying I wont do it again. Streaming is still something interesting to me, and something I'd like to be able to do. I'm just not quite there yet. On the plus, I got a webcam for my birthday meaning if I did stream again, I could have a face if I wanted. I dunno if that's gonna mean anything or not. I am very open to feedback on the above conflicts, by the way, if anyone has any tips for mitigating those sorts of problems from their experience, or what kind of things you guys would most want me to be streaming, whatever. This might not be the topic for it so feel free to shoot me a PM or something if you have words for me. The Hermit, probably. A certain other person has described me as such anyway, and I'm inclined to believe it's accurate. Always.However, I'm not yet convinced they need to be in Reborn, so we'll see. Pretty dramatic, hm? I can see the resolution is a bit inconsistent, and it's got pillow-shading syndrome (darker towards edges-- not generally correct) but for an early attempt you've got potential. That said, this thread really isn't the place for this sort of thing, so in the future, please post your sprites or whatever in the Creative Works forum so everyone can give feedback too! a wat yeah! we may not have all of them 100% ready in the next episode but in general they do the thing heh oh by the way i found another bug with these as i was trying to make that gif so like heyyy if you need another break from the server stuff hit me up. Coral is done. I think Coral might be my favorite ward in the city now. Like, if I were going to live there or something. Lapis comes next. It might take a minute unless I save a solid chunk of it for sidequests though. We'll see.

i cannot in good conscience answer this question negatively Here is why I do not want to do the audino thing (and why i've been resistant to rebattlable trainers in the first place): If it were just a fast track for weaker Pokemon, that would be fine. But anything that's that fast, like an Audino squad, is also probably going to be pretty easy leveling among other things too. I do not like grinding. There are apparently strange people with strange opinions who disagree with me, but personally I think having to grind is a design flaw. However (and presumably due to years of growing up on static turn-based systems that served more as stat-checks than actual challenges) despite it not being enjoyable to many people, it is often a default strategy. I would much rather encourage players to not grind unless they really have to (or, as you say, a newer/weaker Pokemon) and instead try different strategies, items, set-ups, field tactics, etc to try and beat the leader instead. But, if I add something that's so clearly freelo EXP, it's just going to enable that grinding-as-default disposition. I don't think people learn as much that way, and I think if they end up beating the battles just because of a numbers advantage they lacked before, it's not nearly as satisfying as beating the battle because they thought hard, tried new things, and hammered out something they didnt think of before that happened to work better and secure the win. So, I don't know the numbers, but if something gives the best EXP for a level 30-50 Pokemon it's also probably going to be giving above average EXP even for level 50-70 Pokemon. Then it'll be that much simpler to just win by numbers rather than strategy. No thanks.As an after thought, I wouldn't be opposed to that if it somehow like locked you out of the battle if you had any Pokemon above a certain level in your party (and was later in the game) so that could be an option... however that level would probably be in the 50-60 area and while it would help it's mostly the levels after that that take the longest anyway. So eh. Generally true, though Jan and I are friends and help a bit with each other's projects anyway, so I really doubt he'd mind. It's probably an option at least.

It has its moments. I hella support the bubbline shipping and have seen a few episodes but it never really caught me. The only one of these I actually watch(ed) regularly. Lapis is precious and must be protected. There's not much negative I could say against it except how slow it is to pick up. Had to google what it was. I've seen some gifsets of it on tumblr but the art style is sort of gross and makes me not want to watch it. The gifs themselves have yet to give me sufficient reason contrariwise. Haven't seen that either, nor have I seen anything of it elsewhere. Is that still relevant??? It looked sort of cool when I saw commercials of it as a kid, but I've never seen it. We didn't have cable growing up so I didn't have a way to watch it. Who wouldn't? Knuckle comes down on the side of the keyboard for a kick drum. Thumbnail hits the side of the keyboard on the way back up for a snare sound. Successive snare hits are hard though. Most of the times I've felt pride have not been correlated with any particular momentous event, but just little things, like learning a song that was challenging for me, efficiently breaking a bad habit, getting an awesome character design or map done, making significant progress in reading/understanding japanese.. stuff like that. Nope. Not that sort of game. Would be weird with handling teams too.

The whole thing about Reborn being a post-apoc city was Will's idea, after something that I'm not entirely clear on what happened after I signed off of the server one night back when we first started in 2010. He started making a story based on the fact that I, as a leader, disappeared in their time of need, and so everything was ruined. Not sure about purchasable though I'm not directly opposed. As for Leppa, I somehow thought y'all already had those. But if not, you'll get them at some point anyway. No plans to. Some of the stuff like merging and whatnot is just super not practical for a field effect. As for the wrapping moves, I definitely tried to do something with that at first, it was one of the key things I was looking to abuse on Terra's team (probably with like, Sand Tomb?). I don't remember why I eventually decided against it, whether it was because I couldn't find a way to make it compelling in terms of gameplay (let's face it, wrapspam wasn't actually fun for anyone, and doesn't leave (m)any options), or because I couldn't get the code to make it work right, I don't remember. But I think that field is pretty solid as is. Given my volatile memory, there's no way what hasn't happened probably more than a few times. However, given my volatile memory, I don't remember any specifics. Sometimes I get in the mood to, but usually one or two things happens. Either I burn myself out playing through the early game for the #48954th time because I accidentally fucked up my old save file testing things, or I think something like, but wait, it would be better to play through it after I finish this feature/area/whatever so I can test with that and then by the time I actually finish that the mood has passed.
