  3. No, they're correct. We could use those songs and be in no more trouble than we already would be. We've already stolen from the king's chamber; what's a few more jewels? But those are boring compared to our other options, and they take up a lot of space so I won't be using them in the core download.

  9. As part of an ongoing effort to send moderation relief efforts to the areas that need it most, I'm announcing a couple new local mods in the community today! First up is the already-server-modly Dark Desire... or Dank Desire if that's how you do, and he dooo. He'll be dabbling into forum moderation helping out in the Gaming General section. Secondly a new face is brought to the staffly table in our very own muffin-lovin' Derpy Simon. Hopefully he won't break too many things... Just kidding, I'm sure he'll be fine! Derpy Simon has signed on for mod-ship in the On the Hunt, Team Showcase and Fan-game forums! If you need anything in those nicks of the woods, feel free to hit 'em up! And to both of you, my thanks for stepping up as we need it.
  10. I'm a few steps ahead of you with that. I'll be putting up details on the Geo Rock once it's fully implemented-- but I won't be working on that until after animations are done. Your second point is fair, but I don't want to go that far until after I see how things are with the Geo Rock in game. I suspect I won't need to make that change. As for superheated, I'm currently pretty content with Charlotte's balance, and the set of weaknesses her team has even aside from the field. Ultimately the focus is to be on the team, with the field effect being an additional set of levers.
  11. In a case like that, consider your sample. We're all internetty people, probably more specifically forum-goers or Pokemon fans, and then specifically we're all on this forum, and even more specifically the type of people on this forum who are likely to click on this thread and bother to take the test and respond. So what that might tell you is that particular type, or the types that are best-represented here, are the sort more inclined to a place like this. I wonder what that says about this place itself? I'm INFJ, as usual. Admittedly, this site's analysis of it is the most accurate to me personally that I've seen in a while. I was impressed.
  12. Saturday Morning cartoons are pretty much the reason I got into anime My best friend and I, and later my sister as well, would pretty much watch the lot of them religiously. Pokemon/Yugioh/Megaman NT Warrior/Sailor Moon/Tokyo Mew Mew. That said, I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with the abstract style of modern cartoons in Adventure Time et al. Even though I don't personally care for it, I think scenarios and worlds like the ones Adventure Time establishes are far more creative than the ones represented in 90's cartoons. Contrast, for example, Ed Edd n Eddy's small town dystopia to the setting of a recovering post-apoc imaginary continent and associated kingdoms in Adventure Time. I won't say that when properly explored a small town can't be just as creative or powerful as the Land of Ooo, but in the given example I don't think it was. Most of Ed Edd n Eddy's scenarios involved the boys getting into trouble or trying to scheme for personal gain, often borrowing on common social stereotypes to create conflict. On the other hand I've only seen a handful of episodes from Adventure Time, but from what I've seen their focus seems to be helping others maintain order via conflicts in the varied domains. To me, one of those requires just a little bit more thought than the other, and in the example it sets for its young and impressionable viewers, I think it shows. My bias might be at play here, since I never did care for Ed^3. But I think the nostalgia glasses are strong on the reverse side too.
  13. There's no need for a separate release. In fact as cleanly as I have them organized it would be entirely practical to put up an animation patch where people can just download them and put them into the game in the meantime. I -was- planning on staggering the animations through the next several episodes. But honestly, as long as this is taking, I'm sort of close to saying 'dont expect E16 for literally ever' and then spending the next X months making -all- move animations to be released with E16 instead of just the redone existing ones. It'll be the same amount of time in development in the end, so I don't see much of a reason to not just get it out of the way, aside from the fact that it'll mean an awkwardly long gap between E15 and 16. But then, I already said E16 will take forever, so what's another spoonful of eternity on top of the previous life sentence? I'm not decided either way. Those are just my thoughts right now. I'm interested in what others think as well. For now, Brick Break. This week will be slow for me for personal reasons. Aside from my cousin moving in with us and starting school, I'm heading to Nan Desu Kan this weekend so I won't be able to work so much. But am I the kind of dork who takes her laptop to a convention to work on a game instead of socializing? You bet I am. Jan's also entering the fray now so he'll be helping out with animations, along with Inuki I think, so hopefully we can pick up the pace here a bit soon.
  14. Good golly this one took forever. Blue Flare
  15. In both main series games and Reborn, a Pokemon's characteristics are determined as soon as you're given the egg. The star being on eggs was a bug in the first place.
  16. Once upon a time in college I made the mistake of taking four discussion classes at once. Now, that's fine-- except for it became disgustingly apparent to me that students only use the same four opening phrases in an academic free-for-all. I cannot hear the phrase "to piggyback off of that" without cringing. My other biggest one is when someone says "no problem" or "you're welcome" after I say 'thanks' to a compliment or something of that nature. Saying those things makes it seem like the original compliment was just said for the other person's sake or as a formality, as opposed to something genuine.
  17. I'm going to go ahead and close this since this discussion is better-suited to other parts of the forum.
  18. I'm getting a little better at this. Blast Burn
  19. I really like Pyrrha as a character but golly does her relationship with Jaune bother me a lot because of all the things you've said. He does nothing to deserve her. She's basically a not-so-manic pixie dream girl and those sorts of plot devices are disgustingly overused. And why? Media is not meant to be an accurate representation of reality. By and large, it's meant to sell. As a male viewer, you're expected to identify with Jaune and vicariously enjoy his being able to get that perfect girl icon. This is effective at gratifying male viewers, which is why it's such a popular pattern, but the backlash is that it creates false expectations like what you're now dealing with. My advice is to stop assuming that girls are any different from anyone else. Would you want to date a bumbling idiot-- regardless of gender? You, and many others, think of girls as a gender first, and as people second. Try to remember that everyone is a person like any other. When you can do that, it's not so hard to empathize and connect with people.
  20. I was originally going to open animations up as a community project like shinies, but then my perfectionism took over. That said, I'm not entirely opposed to a small team especially since these files are so easily transferable. I would certainly speed things up, but... I'm mostly concerned about quality checking, both in terms of graphics and the animation itself. I'll revisit the idea. Yep, they'll be free-use. I've taken particular care with naming files to make sure everything can be easily copied over from one project to another. Aqua Ring:

  22. So it's come to my attention that there's actually a wider range of people interested in this game than I thought, and that number seems to be increasing, so I figured I'd do this thing as a general discussion topic. Knock yourselves out. For those who aren't familiar with PSO2: It's a free-to-play MMORPG with strong graphics and the best combat system that I for one have seen in an MMO. However, it hasn't been released outside of Asia. Nonetheless, the game is half fan-translated and the region block can be gotten around. Instructions for those interested in trying it here: http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=210236 PS: Oh yeah, we play on Ship 2. Oops. 23. same. also the ZE ending sequences
  24. Not really... In Hilda's ORAS playthrough she had a Poochy named Polo. So I named mine Marco to match. The moves are... look, just don't pay any mind to those. Agility To retract my earlier assessment of the animations taking about half an hour each, unfortunately an hour seems to be more appropriate. Making the single animation itself only takes about half an hour, but with self-target moves, I end up spending half an hour or longer trying to make sure it's displaying in the right place (which should not be as difficult as it is) and with other moves the animation has to be done twice (player using it, opponent using it) sooooo bleh.
