  1. thats tomato soup though nobody cares about tomato soup though more like tomatNO soup though
  2. so i revisited this very important topic recently and it turns out while the PEAK can hold 318,015,013 cans if the ENTIRE MOUNTAIN were hollowed out it would hold 14,328,448,000 cans of delicious cambpells avengers™ fun shapped pasta soup
  3. Saying someone is making you lose brain cells is pretty rude, you know? This is just a basic matter of respect. I firmly believe it's possible to hold different and even opposing opinions and not let it devolve into ad hominem. I'm certainly not trying to start any drama here or snowball anything, but I'm just encouraging everyone to consider others' feelings as well when commenting other places. Be those 'others' the game devs or the Youtubers themselves.
  4. we don't talk about fog. Acrobatics ...okay so it looks silly when a poocheyena uses it since puppies don't usually fly, but just let that go for now.
  5. Tales of Symphonia- Collette's story resonated more with me than I understood when first playing it, and for reasons I've only recently found. Kingdom Hearts 1/CoM- Especially since I once had a best friend named Riku and things... went south fast.
  6. I want to bring this status update into an actual discussion. And yes, nobody's actually going to lynch someone for a negative comment, but the verbal spats people break into down there aren't much prettier. I think anyone who's looked at a Youtube comment section in the history of ever knows that this sort of stuff is prevalent everywhere. But like, do you guys realize that this is something that -can- be helped? As applied to Reborn, I've been disappointed when I've seen people in comments' sections saying things rude things. Even if they are in defense of Reborn, nobody is benefited from talking about other games as if they're trash. We can be better than that. Suzerain works hard on Insurgence. And it's different from my game, but also very similar, and a lot of people enjoy both. A lot of people only enjoy one or the other, and that's fine too. But many people, I think, also forget this: Just because the games are similar does not mean they have to be compared. One being good, or even 'better' does not make the other one bad. One existing does not prevent anyone from enjoying the other. If these were marketed games, they might have a reason to compete against each other, but as free games, each one loses literally nothing from the other existing. In fact I would even say they're helped by each other because there is a lot of overlapped interest which spreads from one game to the others. And that means that during development times, you guys can go play Insurgence, go play Rejuvenation, and when those are in development you can play Reborn. One way or another you can always get your daily dose of fangame. So like, what's the problem here? I acknowledge that in a case like the linked status update you might feel like you're coming to the defense of Reborn by, for instance, calling Insurgence trash, but that's really just making the problem worse. -And- it makes us look bad (at least for anyone who is ignorant enough to lump all fans of a game into one boat, which, while silly, has happened with Reborn and probably will again). The people who go out and disrespect other games are not doing the project a favor. It certainly doesn't make me happy, even as Reborn's creator, to see people disparaging others' work just because they like mine better. I can't speak for Suze, but I would be surprised if he disagreed with that much as well. I would rather us turn the other cheek. Obviously I can't ask you guys to do or not do anything outside of this community, but, at the least, maybe think about who's being benefited by your comment.
  7. That's the idea, more or less. Minorly tweaked rain below. I took it from within the editor this time so pay no mind to the boxes and raindrops splashing on the HUD.
  8. lol. I sort of had the same thought. I'll probably thin out the drops just a little bit. And for the second part, that's already a planned change actually, affecting all end-of-turn effects. Believe me, I'm as annoyed by those tedious messages as y'all. Since I'm going to be doing these for a while (at least a month), and the difference in percentage is rather miniscule, I added a count to the status thread topic title to make progress more apparent. The number listed is how many animations are yet to be done, so when it reaches 0 I can move on.
  9. Probably not in the animation itself, but now that I think about it should be easy to replace the symbol that appear on the battle HUD for Pulses... Mm, maybe. Might cause issues if a player Mega-Evolved during a battle with a PULSE. I'll look into it. Yep. Remember, Strong Winds applies to battles on windy days in Reborn; not just from Rayquaza They all have sounds. I don't think there will be any animations that don't. So, with this all of the "common" (read: not directly related to moves) animations are done, and I can start on the moves themselves. 214 to go for E16..... :s
  10. Suze has allowed us to borrow code in the past. Nonetheless, we would have to see how involved it is. Rest assured if it's practical I'm very interested in it personally because even I get tired of how long things take sometimes. Granted the text skip feature already implemented in E16 will help too.
  11. Weathers today. Did you know that we've actually had a rain animation the entire time? A lot of people don't, because the animation frame on the old one was literally one pixel wide. It was nearly invisible even when you were looking for it. :I Anyway, these should all be fairly clear.
  12. He was. I couldn't resist. Of course, only his name is really notable in that point. Run-down here. (And let me tell you, I can't wait. Some of the aces are already seeing preliminary character designs from it and I'm really so excitedddd)
  13. I'll Tl;dr it. I liked anime pretty much since I first saw Sailor Moon when I was six. But once my friend introduced me to Rozen Maiden, it was all over for me. That show single-handedly defined-- or perhaps rather helped me find-- my sense of aesthetics and personality so much that it is entirely impossible for me to imagine how different I would be without it. Similarly, so much of my life has been irrevocably influenced by anime as a whole that it's not even worth looking at what parts of it haven't been. Nonetheless, Rozen Maiden is the veritable centrepiece for all of that.
  14. As a new member, I should inform you of how our warning point system works. As users violate the rules, they stack up warning points over time. Once a certain number of points are obtained, an action is taken against the user. For instance, 3 points removes ace status, 5 points triggers a mandatory moderator check on posts, and at 10 points the user is banned from the community. Unfortunately, I can't talk about the actions past 20 points because they're not entirely legal in some countries. Anyway, hitting on Hilda is worth 150 warning points. ^^ Screw Yuki. This Yuno is taking Ninth as her waifu. (But if I had to choose a boy I'd be right there on the Juuzou train too)
  15. Found the work-around. It varies significantly between animations. It's also still hard for me to say because I'm learning the editor and how to get around these issues, but I think as a rough estimate I can safely say about half-an-hour per animation on average if all goes well. Simpler ones like tackle may only take a few minutes. More complicated ones like Mega, take.... several hours, perhaps. More if the graphics need to be created in the first place.
  16. .......look, some weird stuff happens in testing, okay? It would but I can't change the sprite until the animation ends, and if the animation ends with the target Pokemon invisible it uhh... stays invisible until something makes it not. (See: Aerial Ace glitch)
  17. So I've had a fairly rough week. Aside from the site being taken down, I've been brick-walled on the animations because of some technical issues (i.e certain features seemed to work fine in the editor, but in the actual game they wouldn't) and it took me for bloody ever to figure out the work-around. But I eventually did. As such, here's a new Mega Evolution animation...
  18. HostGator was our old server host. It has a strong reputation as one of the leading host companies on the net. Unfortunately we did not find its reputation founded, and we had a lot of outages leading to frequent gator icons appearing on the site and informing us that it was broke as shit. The outages were for a time so common that that period has apparently been dubbed 'the Gator Wars'. I'm a fan, personally.
  19. As of now, we seem to be fully recovered. Thanks for bearing with us, and hopefully that's the last we have to deal with it! As a couple technical notes we are now running Cloudflare, as I'm sure everyone saw based on the error screen we've been fuming at for the past couple days, so this will help to prevent future issues. Another improvement, though entirely unrelated to this technical debacle: The alternate registration/trainer card import feature on the site has finally been updated to accept Showdown imports rather than PO ones. Thanks to Swimming for correcting that!

  21. ...he's only supposed to flirt with female characters... that sounds like an error.... interesting.
  22. Absolutely agreed. Everyone will have different tastes and its no one's place to enforce their opinion disrespectfully or as a matter of fact. Besdies, Btoom was one of my favorites... now if they would just finish it. Q~Q It seems like most people prefer to offer recommendations than ask, so I'll do the reverse, but with a specific prompt: It might be somewhat obvious, but I really love survival games. Closed circle scenarios where the players have to kill each other-- are just so fun! My favorite examples of this are Mirai Nikki, Dangan Ronpa and Rozen Maiden, but I'm always on the hunt for more so if anyone knows other survival game shows, let me know! I keep my MAL up to date and write comments about each show in the tags, so if there are survival games I'm missing on here, and I hope there are, hit me up. http://myanimelist.net/animelist/amethystrain
