  1. I'll give my answers - they might not be true, it's just a theory: I know this is not much... But I'm writing it on breaks on the college, and I'm feeling lazy, so... sorry.
  2. I have watched playthoughs of Pokemon Colosseum and XD while planing on essays... and realized something I hadn't previously (because English is not my native/first language and I'm stupid)

      Greater evil or greedy evil.

      Oscarus

      "Greedy"...?

Well... Considering he has 7 Shadow Pokemon in "one" battle, including 4 Legendaries, and also gold eyes...

      Maybe yes.

    3. Oscarus

      Oscarus

Okay, I Google-checked and his Japanese name is "Deathgold", so maybe "greedy" is a more logical choice here than "greater"

  3. To quote Rose from Juno Songs' cover

"It... pains me to have to do this...

But you leave me no choice"

After I fought with a Trainer who had FULL TEAM of OU Legendaries, I've legitimately ragequit after the battle (which I've barely won, with some luck and their really stupid decisions like outright using Psychic on Hydreigon), and decided: "Fine! You wanna see me using Legends! I WILL be using Legends!"

Since I've reset my old W/L record (I had a winrate of only 45%, but only because I haven't reset it earlier, because when I first played competitive, I sucked so much that my winrate was pathetically low), every Trainer had at least 2 OU Legendaries (expect one - a Trick Room specialist - who I had fought twice; once I lost with his one Pokemon standing, and the other I won with my one Pokemon standing; he was having only Cresselia).

I know that many (and myself) call this cheap and so on... but I was so livid that I've decided to do it myself. After all, two can play that game, huh?

I know that having two Pseudo-Legendaries would already put me on the aim for hate, technically using 4 Legendary Pokemon... But there's a reason why everyone are salty about Legendaries and Ultra Beasts, and not Pseudos. Moreover, after returning to competitive, my team consisted of only two true OU Pokemon - Tyranitar and Skarmory. The other three (Hydreigon, Scizor and Chandelure) are UU, while Megas were UUBL at best. So I think it's fair for me

Beware of Blaziken, if you're careful.

    2. Oscarus

      Oscarus

Funny, because Blaziken is one of the few Pokemon that were destroying me.

Because of the fact they come in on my Choice-locked Chandelure (usually after using Energy Ball, because no "fragile" Pokemon would like to run in Fire Blast, even if resisted like Greninja).

I will. This time I will as I have a solid counter (on paper)

    3. OmegaStellarSolare

      OmegaStellarSolare

I hope so because Blaziken isn't to be underestimated due to being ranked to Ubers and stayed like that in Gen5 to Gen7. Also, it was quickly banned in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl way too early.

  4. Honestly, I feel I shouldn't ask, but I have to.

Do you think that if I used Legendary Pokemon eligible for OU (or lower tiers) in competitive battles, would that be... "unfair"?

This may sound weird, but if we consider many Legendary are being constantly complained about, especially likes of Lando-T or Tapus, I am afraid of using them because I don't wanna be called "meta slave" nor see they saying that I've only won because of that Legend, and can't play properly. Of course, those are said by players whos team are stacked with those and Uber-worthy Pokemon.

Okay, straight to the point - I can't find a fitting Mega for my team. And I'm beginning to wonder if I should return to using Mega Tyranitar (either bulky full offense or fast Dragon Dancer), and then fill the last spot with Legendary of sorts. Or other Pokemon whos quite strong or can work well in Sandstorm, like Excadrill.

To be fair, I'm not switching out any of the previously mentioned: Skarmory, Scizor, Tyranitar, Hydreigon and Chandelure, as all of them are doing a great work, and synergize very well with each other. I simply wanna hear your opinions.

I know that there are no-Uber Legendaries

      Even those who are Untiered.

But I'm afraid of using them because I have strongly opposed Legendaries that dominated meta (like Lando-T), and was even calling others out if they had, like, 3 or more of them. And this might return to me in form of karma.

This stuff really doesn't matter if you're just trying to win at the end of the day.

  5. All this time, I have played online Gen 7 metagame... that I forgot that none of my Pokemon was holding Z-Crystal.

To be fair, that wasn't exactly necessary, as I have... around 75% winrate, I think. Maybe closer to 80%, I wasn't counting. But I do wonder if I should use Z-Crystal. And if yes, then on whom...?

    Currently my team is:

    • Occa Berry Scizor
    • Aguav Berry Skarmory
    • Smooth Rock/Chople Berry Tyranitar
    • Choice Scarf Chandelure
    • Life Orb Hydreigon
    • rotating Mega (formerly Aerodactyl, now Steelix, with possible Manectric joining)

And if some Pokemon could have Crystal, then it's either Tyranitar or Hydreigon, in my opinion, as Skarmory won't do shit with Z-Move, Megas can't have Z-Crystals (except Rayquaza who's too broken; even for Ubers), Occa Berry saves Scizor from unexpected Hidden Power Fire (a few times it helped me win 6-0 with just Scizor), and Choice Scarf Chandelure is a beast.

Still, Tyranitar and Hydreigon are good enough with their original sets. So I wonder if it's necessary to give them Z-Crystal. And what do you guys think?

Mostly with Hydreigon because Tyranitar has Mega Evolution. But I’m afraid that Mega Rayquaza can’t use Z-Move.

    2. Oscarus

      Oscarus

Mega Tyranitar is better than regular Tyranitar on normal playthoughs, but not in competitive.

Unlike Mega Garchomp, Mega Tyranitar is strictly superior to regular Tyranitar in every way... But can't hold any items (excluding situations where Pokemon is automatically Mega Evolved or can have 2 items). Therefore regular Ttar can use different items, and it's not a weakling either - I can even send them in on supereffective, not-boosted hit (if it's not Fighting-type) and they will shrug it off.

I will try using Dragonium/Darkium Z on Hydreigon, but if it doesn't pays off, I'm switching to Life Orb

Also... I don't care much about Mega Rayquaza (and also why it is "Mega", and not "Primal" or something - because Megas are created because of bond between Pokemon and human; and can we call whatever those ancient humans had done to create "Mega Evolution" for Rayquaza a personal bond?) so... how should I know?

    3. OmegaStellarSolare

      OmegaStellarSolare

Then try to use Tyranitar with physical defensive strategy.

      For Hydreigon, it’s your choice.

For Mega Rayquaza, I’m just explaining things.

  6. I have might accidentally caused a little emotional avalanche... But reading those stories, makes me think again that I'm not alone in this world, and many of us keep facing personal problems; fighting personal demons. And Pokemon Reborn has helped us to go through the life, and even teach us valuable lessons. And they say games don't teach anything, smh.
  7. I first played Reborn in... I believe June 2020. I've just finished the 11th grade, and at the time, I was... pretty depressed. Being 18 at the time, I was constantly ridiculed by my family for various reasons like: not wanting to get driver license (to this day, I'm terrified with just thinking about driving cars), not drinking beer, not having girlfriend... or any friend at all (as they all were either unaccessible, living too far away to casually meet, or were simply degenerates of all sorts), et cetera. Additionally, I didn't know what I want to do in the future, as all my dreams were dashed away by various injuries or "close community" just saying "You ain't never gonna be good at it" over and over again. I was hitting rock-bottom, for the first time seriously thinking about suicide... But then I've seen notification on YouTube from Judi's channel (one of the most recognizable Polish PokeTubers) when he started a new series for new fanmade game - Pokemon Reborn. Just the first episode was enough to have me try and play the game. I am quite sensitive person (both in positive... and negative sense), so it was easier for me to bond with the characters. Especially those with whom I have more in common. But Ame, was different. We did have quite a few things in common, but not as much to "make a bond". But there was one, ONE detail that made me connect with this "semi-fictional character"... No matter what, where and when, she was helping and encouraging; trying her best to help us and Reborn. And despite being overworked, Ame was going forward. Despite the losses and failures, she was constantly going to her goal. She did become my role model, and to this day, whenever I fail, I try to think how many she did for me and the others, and that I have to bring my best. To clarify, it's not like I'm in love with her or Amethyst... It's just- "friendship"... of sorts. It is hard to explain, so forgive me. But then, THAT day happened. Raid on "Devon Corp." building. And... ...when Lin had ordered Hydreigon to...I have saved, turned out the game, and was crying on the bed for half an hour. It wasn't a hysterical cry, but my soul was pierced, and I was afraid to turn up the game... just to not see Ame's lifeless corpse which would remind me that I've failed to protect her. I know we couldn't do anything, but I wish we could, to try... It's been well over a year and a half, and I have gotten over it. But I won't forget that feeling - that painful, regrettable moment, which had reminded me that we are just mere mortals, unable to do big things as we please. And that... even when our friends are no longer with us, we need to carry their legacy in our hearts, and press forward, to not disappoint them......... I may be pathetic, crying because fictional character died, but I'm not afraid of telling it publicly, as I hate being a liar.
  8. If we can, I'll do it. Even if I have to annihilate half of Reborn... I want her back. But I guess if I do destroy half of the region, Ame will just commit sepuuku, so I need to find another way.
  9. Was that a sarcasm just now, or not? I'm a bit sarcasm-blind, especially when it's written.
  10. Dude... wth? Do you think they would be dumb enough to mistake... whatever "kool-aid" is for blood, which has the characteristic scent that can linger on for quite some time, and taste which might be quite sour and metalic at first, but one can get used to it? That would also make a potential plot hole... Because how then Lin would find herself in the Citadel, if she was under caring protection?
  11. If we assume that time gap between the malfunction of Grand Gate and the time we enter is more than 10 years, that can ease our calculations... a bit. Or harden it... It sure is complicated, but I still believe that the time Adrienn had spent there was "taken away" from xer and given to Lin. Regardless if that was exactly 10 years, or more. Because it would make sense and delete a potential plot hole of "How and why exactly hadn't Adrienn aged, but Lin did at an accelerated rate?", because the answer of "Arceus' powers lol" is not sufficient enough. Time is its' own dimension, which is constant - you can't "create" or "delete" time without consequences (and don't bring the King/Emperor Crimson bullshit here). With that, at least the time-space continuum is consistent... somewhat. About the adoption within Pierce's family... I think it HAD to be Lin. I haven't ever spoken to Terra's parents (but I know they do exist; they live in Beryl Ward, I think), but if that is the case, it is the only logical solution, and connects the loose ends. Look, Lin had been accidentally "killed" by Sigmund during the electroshock therapy session, and thrown away, finding herself in the Citadel. There, she was climbing up, and become older as she was on the surface. We don't know how old exactly she was back then (psyhically at least), but if we take Vulnora's calculations into account, she should had been 16+. Which means there was a chance for her to return to the Orphanage due to not being "adult" (and freaking Connal out, possibly) for the cycle to start all over again. So she was adopted by Pierce family (because she possibly couldn't have been before landing in Citadel, as Sigmund would land in jail for child murder {accidental or not; doesn't matter} because her family would tell the police about the incident), becoming Terra's sister. And this is where their bond would create, as Terra is the ONLY person Lin seems to actually care of, according to Taka. Also her presence could "transform" the introvertic genius teenager into an unnatural force that breaks all known laws of psyhics and even more. Still... The fact that Lin hasn't said anything about Terra since gaining Gravity Badge is deeply unsettling, almost like she-... But maybe that's because Terra has escaped, and Lin knows this, and they're good. Now... That makes me think... What if Lin actually doesn't give a single f about Terra, and just acts that way to have her by the side due to her cast knowledge about technology, with building the trust since years (she's a great actress, though and though)? And if Terra actually believes her, or she knows Lin is a dirty liar, and also acts that way only to backstab i the least expected moment? And if Lin knows that Terra knows, or not? That is quite complicated, yes, but I do need to know the answer. If we take that into account... Lin should be (psyhically) 20-23 years old, which is quite short of "mid 20s". But the age is with "(?)", so it may not be the truth, as this means she looks like it, but isn't. Still... It is complex.
  12. And not "mid 20s" with a question mark? Because that's what she looks like, but it is uncertain if it is truly that
  13. I haven't seen that dialogue in full, or I did, but subconsciously skipped that, and forget. But yet, that "age passing" actually matches, as Adrienn claims to have seen Lin (most likely) climbing up the stone cave walls surrounding the Citadel. And when she climbed up, she was older. But then I wonder... WHEN did exactly that happen? How many days, months or years ago, because Lin was already Team Meteor Leader before protag's arrival to Reborn - as I question Solaris would want to do that, as his goal was to have people leave, not have people die.
  14. I've barely returned from an entire day in the university... And somehow I'd become an inspiration and assistance of this forums' a few veterans?

...Am I really that charismatic? Or it's something else? I can't really put my finger on it.

Oh, I've been part of that for a long time. I've been "Pan" for years. But also, its just the idea of making your own mainstream game. Plus, making your own Pokemon is really fun. I've wanted to do this for a while.

    3. Oscarus

      Oscarus

It really is. To create characters, Pokemon, storyline, everything...

Unfortunately, I do have trouble with the "Pokemon", as while creating humans and very humanoid is no hard challenge, creating other creatures is. For me, personally. Maybe a lack of experience, maybe no inspirations (I do have some, but not many)...

Anyways, while it is fun to create, it's no easy task

    4. Dark Legend

      Dark Legend

True, very true. Especially the names...

  15. Chronologically, Lin should be somewhere between 14 and 18, if the Lin we know is the same one as the one from the Orphanage. But biologically, she's around 10 years older. Which is the complete reverse of Adrienn's situation: xe's in mid 20s biologically, but in mid 30s chronologically. So it might be possible that, in the Citadel, mysterious power (or whatever is hidden behind the gates) have "stolen" 10 years from Adrienn and given them to Lin. Solaris' parents had been killed somewhere around 25-30 years ago, when Solaris was a teenager/young adult, if we base our calculations, taking into account Elias' diary, which is the only source of these events. To this day, Solaris mourns and regrets his rebellious day... mainly because of that incident, as he has never dealt with his parents' demise, seemingly. Also, this might the reason he wants Taka to be obedient - so that he won't make any dumb mistake, as Solaris did in his age. Unfortunately, in neither route Taka's prevented. But to answer your question... We definitely don't have enough evidence. The argument of "both thief and Lin seeking the four keys" is invalid, as many others were doing so as well. Sirius had been hunting for the keys even before deciding to join Team Meteor. And even if they were related, they couldn't have been close family, because of relatively large time gap between thief's demise and Lin's birth. They could've been her aunt/uncle, grandparent, first cousin once removed... But don't get your hopes high. *sighs* If that so... I don't feel satisfied. When I have played through Reborn for the first time, for the first time since years I've felt so emotionally connected to the game characters. True, most of them are based on real-life humams, but even so, they're fictional. And to feel so strong bond with them, it felt so unreal, yet... When something jovial happened, I was happy. When someone died, I was crying. When someone was sad, I wanted to hug them When someone was an assholes, I wanted to smash their heads with a hammer. Gotta admit... Pokemon Reborn is perhaps one of the best fanmade games in terms of storywriting - not just in Pokemon, but in all fandoms. It has changed my way of thinking, formed my character and helped to develop as a writer and a better human. For that... I am very thankful.
  16. How so? Everyone can do that - on Showdown (the official online Smogon site to competitive batting) I'm not world-class, not even close. But I can get ahold on my own. Also... does the ELO Score drop over time? Because I've seen many times that I've had less than previously despite not playing at all. If it wasn't for that, I would have almost 1500 ELO on Gen 8 Random Singles. Not to be bragging, of course

  18. I mean... Who wouldn't be excited about having the opportunity to cheese and sweep Lin at ease? I've also forgotten that to use Special Z-Moves you need Special Z-Crystals. I keep forgetting that because of how many times I've played ROM Hacks or modes where Pokemon can hold 2 items at once, or they come out already Mega Evolved and still have an item. Which is weird because I do competitive battling on almost regular basis
