That's because dark alleys are full of guys who look like you. So in those instances you are the weird creepy guy.

You're the type of person in a horror movie who would goof off with the Ouija board, aren't you?

  6. @hilda- you could only find the body if we say... had a sample of his dna beforehand so we could rustle through all the bones and positively ID him. Otherwise, there is not enough reliable information to go on. There would be nothing to differentiate his corpse from the corpses of other men, like say, the other two men crucified next who him who would have the same skeletal trauma from it. @ Thomas Elliot- god is infinitely great and is a PERSONAL god in christianity so yeah, he's at your beck and call. If you keep the covenant, supposedly. I was always told he build personal relations with each person. Sure, he's got a whole universe to run. And mythology gives him the capability to do that and have relationships with each and every single individual. So your argument about god not being at the service of every individual is bluntly refuted by your own religion. The atheist is me says its cuz everybody wants to be their own unique snowflake and they all want to be able to have control over what happens to them in this world. Which is what superstition is- don't do [action] (ex, walk under a ladder) or something bad and usually vague will happen to you (bad luck)- a psychological construct to help make sense and gain a sense of control over the world. Eat kosher (why most of the Hebrew/Abrahamic stuff was cut out of the bible I don't know, but Jesus was Jewish, right?), don't mix fabrics, pray and god will help those who help themselves, do not upset the money changers for they are the job creators... oh wait. Anyways, how could do things for everybody? "How great is god's master plan if any schmuch with a 2 dollar prayer book can come around and mess up his plans?" to paraphrase George Carlin. You have now realized the paradox that actually helps to argue against god's existence, or at least in the way christianity describes him. "We think the universe is built around us." Speak for yourself there guy. We recognize that we exist as a part within the larger system that is the universe. We naturally explore things with an eye to benefit ourselves. Also, god used to alter physics to turn women into salt, burn bushes without burning them, selectively kill/make sick the egyptian firstborns, part the red sea. So if he wanted to, he could stop the earthquakes. So yeah, god made the rules- the physics of the universe. And now he has no part in it. Darvan Korematsu- "isn't it better to believe in everlasting life than not to? No. And I'll explain later why and try to catch up on these other pages I haven't read yet when I'm not rushing off to class
  7. Which thread was that? Off the top of my head, the best explanation is that someone moved it in the middle of the night and put it somewhere else and made a story about it to raise Jesus beyond the status of martyr prophet and retrofitted the story so that he is part of god. There are any number of ancient bones buried and stored where ancient peoples remains were buried/stored. his body could be any one of those, marked or unmarked. It's a simple, rational explanation that doesn't require a supernatural (that thing that is defined as beyond what is natural and cannot be done by manipulating natural things, yet can illogically manipulate natural things) explanation/leap in faith. You have to remember that this is a story in as much as the Odyssey is a story about real events. Some fact with a lot of fiction. This is a time and era, much like ancient greece, where people had little understanding of the mechanisms of the natural world and thus attributed phenomena they didn't understand to the supernatural. An answer enough to satisfy them... but not actually an answer. A place-holder. A superstition. As people have learned more and more, there are far fewer reports of the supernatural because we learn that they are actually caused by natural phenomena. Supernatural is not something that is consistent with the world. Supernatural is something that supposedly works outside the boundaries of the world, yet happens within the world and affects it. That which affects the world must in turn be affected by the world because it must it must have a property that allows it to interact with the world and that necessarily works the other way around. But that in turn makes it affected by the world and thus not supernatural, but a part of the greater nature of the world, a chain of interactions that fits within its system. So it is not supernatural, it is just the mechanism is unknown. I think what people might call a god is the principle and fact of existence itself. To ascribe motivation, personality, or purpose to existence itself is folly. There is no direction or force to existence other than the rules of interactions of everything within existence. There is no guiding will, just natural laws that determine the outcomes of interactions. Matter, energy, space, and the rest... It is a system with no will of it's own. Life is a by-product, an eventuality, a part of the machinations of the very nature of existence. It's late and idk how well you'll understand what I was trying to convey but I'm gonna have to stop here for now. But a lot of this references the idea of metaphysical thought that revolves around defining what is one, what is whole, and what is separate. And the philosophy of though posits that everything is all one thing thing, and probably the basis for the hippie sounding idea that we and everything else are all really one and all of us are god in that sense. Part of it goes down to science and dividing things, and atoms and subatomic particles and things like that.
  8. INTP-A INTJ is the next closest, with some stuff I would agree with but definitely as a whole, INTP describes me better.

      No. Melee is overrated.

  11. No. You missed the meat of my point. Don't start another topic. Just contribute more directly to the others you've started.
  12. Watched pitch perfect 2. It was pretty awesome., music was great and a lot of surprise appearances in the movie. I think pentatonix played as the Canadian group, for ex. It was also pretty hilarious. Now off to buy the soundtrack.
  13. @Juuzou, ness and lucas are both short human(oid)s and do awesome stuff. @cepheus- yeah, I imagine machpunch like the fox illusion, but like the fox illusion isn't invulnerable, just hard to hit them when they use it. @Flux- I think aggron and nidoking would have similar attacks, based on their similar character build. Idk if they'd do anything too much with king's special set, but that would be fun to have him differ that much more from Aggron/Rhydon/Rhyperior. Nidoking's down special would be like Bowser's down special, but it would be called heavy slam. Aggron's would probably be metal burst, a counter move that does 2x original attack damage, which is special since most counters in smash do 1.1-1.3 damage multipliers only, and would help offset his lack of speed. speaking of heavy slam, they could probably incorporate hold items in there too. Like an iron ball would make a character slower, but get launched far less and certain moves like heavy slam would get even stronger. An item like this would be like the metal box and not be actually held but just have an effect for a time. Some items can be held so they can be tossed or something, I guess. Or items can held normally to be thrown or you just double tap down on the ground to use its effect. And I think Thief and Fling/Knockoff should be moves mapped to the same special. Like, if you're not holding an item you can steal an item. But if you're already holding an item, the move has the same animation but deals more damage and knocks an item out of the foe, or you use your item as a projectile for damage/status effect. Delibird would be a troll pokemn. One special throws a present from his bag and the random damage/heal happens. firespin/ember would probably work like Robin's arcfire.
  14. Things don't get easier. You get better.

  15. tfw nice avatar-referencing avatar. cuz I saw what you did there
  16. Zoroark would have a mixed moveset, but down special would be the illusion, transforming it into a random pokemon with all its moves except down special until it got hit or used down special again.
  17. Really, nearly all pokemon need a smash character. And need to all be put into their own game. Pokken doesn't cut it for me either. Pokken looks and feels more like a tradition fighter ala SF and MvC and a lot less like Smash, which is way more fun in my opinion.

  20. Well, my new fantasy involves -Unknown- making a topic and actually fleshing out the OP. You know, giving particular reasons for the interest and desire talk about desired topics. I mean, instead, it just seems like he/she/xe is just making topics to farm. You want to hear things but you don't contribute your own thoughts as a starting point or as something you want to share. 'Give and you shall receive.' Other than that, I might have some vague ideas of what I want in a fantasy home. You know, built in bar, game/video projection room, indoor pool with legit slide (not one of those slow, lame ones), and some other stuff. I don't have a dream girl cuz one has to work within the framework of reality for relationship that has more meaning than a thought experiment.
  21. Oh snap, there goes the thread. - Confucius But no, really, this should be merged with the maturity thread and argued together, to include whether or not they are the same thing or if there are small differentiating nuances. Personally, I don't see enough of a difference to NOT use them interchangeably.
