  2. You have to visit his castle and give him a towel through his steward.
  3. Boku no hero started off really slow. If anybody plans on watching it, skip ahead to episode 3. You won't miss out on anything. They waste a lot of time recapping just about everything at the beginning of every episode. It's another one of those pathetic-main-protagonist-with-nothing-going-for-him animes. In a world full of random powers called Quirks... this guy was born without one. But he wants to be a hero, just like his idol, All Might. All Might's power is basically the same as the 100 man power from Tiger and Bunny. All Might chooses protag to inherit his powers, especially since a major battle wound means he can use it himself for less and less time each day (another idea more or less taken from Tiger and Bunny.) Obvious test is obvious (ala hunterxhunter style), he goes to the top school for training people to become heroes. Protag is useless a lot, the rival is basically a very angry Gary Oak. His power training makes me think of hitman reborn, and all the dramatic power scaling shit is basically gurren lagann style. Idk, the vast majority of things in this anime just aren't very original, even where they aren't blatant ripoffs. Episodes are full of long, overly dramatic filler, constantly flashing back to the exact same scenes of protag being helpless all the time. The OP and ED are actually pretty boring. The action is actually few and far between, but they do come up with interesting ways to employ certain powers at times. As far as story goes, there is hardly anything that you don't see coming from a mile away. I'd give it a 5/10.
  4. Are any of these summer ones actual shows? The vast majority says manga. I haven't checked the fall ones yet.
  5. The UK was only the 4th biggest contributor to the EU. Germany paid in the most. And it got money back because it didn't need/get the farming subsidies. Any other subsidies and benefits from the money paid in will be lost, but they just won't pay in anymore. They will lose the favorable trade status it had as part of the EU, but as you all have mentioned, it's an economic powerhouse and I doubt the other EU countries can afford to hike trade prices/taxes up much. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-eu-referendum-36027205 http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-32810887

  8. Yeah, I'm pretty sure the BP will rebound faster than people think. Especially since real changes to trade and stuff won't happen immediately. But yeah, this kind of speculation and investing is basically what the stock market is about. It definitely isn't a stupid topic. People found fortunes and business on this type of stuff. Or lose them.
  9. Facebook tells me Brian Cranston was cast as Zordon in the new Power Rangers film. huh.
  10. TIL some e-book publishers and whatnot got sued. So now I have about $19 of credit to put more books onto my Nook. http://www.wsj.com/articles/apple-pays-back-e-book-buyers-following-settlement-1466541963

  16. There were electricians laying down cables in gen 1 and they used voltorb and magnemite in battles. maybe they can bring 'em back. Also, pikachu are known to chew into electric wiring to juice up. I know we've had swimmers and stuff, but how about Extreme Surfers? They only roll with surfing Ryhdons and Pikachus. Because Game Freak logic.

  18. tfw you were trying to sleep in but end up waking up earlier than usual, yet not early enough to fix my sleep schedule.
  19. I don't do sprites myself but I know that sprites take time and effort. And I personally see a problem with how low your prices are. I understand that you're new here, so I also understand that you don't yet have a good feel for what constitutes a... decent wage, shall we say. So let me try to put that into a bit of perspective. You have a grand total of 13 posts as of this reply. A VERY grand total, isn't it? At the same time, you have amassed 140 reborn rupees. If you were to buy commissions from yourself at a R5-20 per commission rate, you'd have between 7 and 28 commissions queued up. That quite a lot of time and effort that you've committed yourself to, isn't it? And so I'm glad to see you have a 5 queue limit. But I feel you're selling your time quite short of a reasonable mark. If ever you run low on 'work' you could always have sales, giveaways, or ask members to come up with challenges or ideas. Certainly, it may be to your advantage to charge less for commissions if you were to use it as an example of your craftmanship... Grand Opening Deals... Any number of commercial tactics may be used to keep yourself suitably occupied and/or challenged. Far be it from me to tell you precisely what to do or how to value your work, but it occurs to me that time spent working on fulfilling this commitment is also time not spent exploring other topics, discussions, and possible connections with other members within the forums. I've been here a long time, and not without reason. I assume also that you enjoy your work, or you would not offer these services. And so this is but a bit of friendly advisement. And that is why I suggest adjusting the pricing to be higher than it currently stands. But that is up to you.
  20. Then you haven't seen the movie or read the novel called "Misery" And in response to the original post, I would posit that while not many people ever think to write a fanfiction... most everybody that watches or reads a good work of fiction imagines themselves in that world. Imagine what they could or would do. What is that phrase? "Capture the imagination." Creativity inspired by a particular set of guidelines or background. Branch off on their own line of thought from what is shown. I'd say fanfiction gets its reputation in that very few are those who studied and endeavored to enter into professional writing. Few have really studied what makes for good and bad writing. Characterization, motif, choice and method of description, diction, connotation... all the things that public education barely scratches the surface of before 'more practical' considerations come to the fore. Like the hard sciences, STEM. A good piece of fiction can inspire much, but rarely does it or any one piece of work teach its audience how to recreate its success. And so, most fanfiction has the craft and subtlety of an elementary school play. I think the seed for fiction or fanfiction exists in everybody. But not everyone is so caught up to carry the line of thought to completion, much less willing or determined to express it to others. Even fewer are those who are capable of expressing it masterfully.
  21. And was either done on pc or had his sensitivity on what I like to call, 'caffeinated adhd squirrel' levels. Pretty sure it was done on pc with a mouse.
