  1. Idk about camping with Cloud and zoning. I play him as rushdowny as I do Ike. At lower percents you can follow a attack with a side B combo. His easiest to land kill move is limit breaker neutral B. His down smash has a gimping effect at the ledge if your foe isn't careful. I got Godot with that a few times before he noticed it. I should probably take more time to mess with him in training mode to test out the limits of his up B as a recovery move for when he grabs the ledge. Ike might rack up damage a bit faster with harder hits, but Cloud has more killing move options that are much easier to land. A lot of times Ike requires a hard read or else he'll just neutral combo all day and not rack up that kill.
  2. 10 points to Griffindor if you recognize this book cover art.

      Also agreed.

  5. Your credibility score just went down several tiers. =/ Cloud feels like a better Ike. His horizontal recovery sucks, but otherwise, he can land so many more things than Ike can. Any move with a full limit meter is great for killing with, except for down B. That one is deceptively hard to land. I think a limit Up B did 20%. It's kind of annoying how you have to time the second B press for him to do the down slash afterwards. Mashing it didn't always get the job done. His down air is easy to hit with and feels like link's but without the lag and vulnerability. I still need to play around more and figure out some of the actual damage calcs.
  6. Players "What about balance?" Sakurai: "WTF is a balance?"

  7. Dear Sakurai and Europe. You both suck. The only think that saves this from being a complete and utter disappointment is the stage music that comes with Kamui. No one will ever play as the male version either.

  12. Do you have a portfolio or gallery of your work that we can browse through somewhere?
  13. That's a tough one. I've been to a lot of places but not really one I want to settle down in. I'd love to go to Japan and Australia and Europe but as a place to stay forever? I'd probably have to say back home in El Paso by default. Lots of family and stuff I know there. Well maybe you should have let me in on the winnings. this one? That's right, and then it turned into games radar. Even back then, it was all about those Nintendo handheld games. Italian spiderman is ridiculous. I think there certain aspects that you could pick and choose might be something to aspire to but I really don't feel like one right now because I'd rather lead by example and experience. Right now I've gotten lazy and haphazard so in some respects I really wouldn't be leading by example. The worst moment? Well, that burnt out feeling towards the end of college was pretty bad but the year I spent as an armorer was easily the worst. It was just so bad and I wanted to get out of there. Some other bad moments: getting injured from a parachute malfunction, moving away twice, some relationship regrets... everything else seems minor when I think about them. 1. Religion, mostly, but I really don't jump into that in depth like I used to. 2. Hmm, I'd have to say Triceratops off the top of my head. Idk that I would bring it back. I don't think they'd fit in well with the current ecology and would probably end up being more of a problem than anything, but if it turned out brontosaurs or some other extinct creature tasted absolutely delicious as a steak or something, I'd be very happy if we brought them back. 3. 20 years is a long time to look ahead. It's highly unusual if I think about something going on in the next week. Next 20 years? Things could go south pretty fast with Trump, but I'm sure even useless old congress would shut down all of his ideas. A lot will change depending on how Europe and the US end up dealing with ISIS. I definitely feel like they could handle things a lot smarter than they are right now. Other than that, who knows what technological goodies will show up during that time to start even more social change. It's a whole lo take in and grasp. But on the lighter side- hopefully more books, manga, and comic book stories get made into quality tv series and movies. There's a lot to be said about values expressed in popular and intellectual media. Fortunately/unfortunately no. I didn't have to shoot at anybody during my deployment but I was always out there on patrols talking to people. Our combat outpost did get attacked with mortars a few times- they already knew not to try to take us on head on. IED's were always a threat and luckily I didn't end up on any of the patrols that found any the hard way, but we did find quite a few the safe way. As fries, mostly. Sometimes as leprechaun bait.
  14. Thanks. And yeah, I know exactly which avatar you're talking about. -When? I'd have to guess late elementary, early middleschool-ish. -Most memorable? I'd have to say it was one of the first of the more epic sized dreams I had. -If I had one wish? I'll have to get back to you on that one because I would cram a lot of different things with specific stipulations into that one wish. It would not be a simple wish, I can tell you that. -Well, I've always endured and used to have a lot of patience. Much less headstrong and impatient compared to now. But I'd always had a lot of pride. I did really well in sports and academics, so I also had a lot of confidence growing up. Even if conditions were unfavorable or there was something I didn't like, I was always proud and confident that I could and did weather it well, but I rarely bragged about it. I was ever a believer of an ideal that I found out the special forces uses almost like a moto: the quiet professional. (So now you can see why I hate swag so much and prefer class) But then you do eventually wear down, people take your effort for granted because you strive to make it look effortless, and they can end up treating you like a pushover because you don't complain. I also found that being indifferent, indecisive, or not having a strong opinion one way or another is... well, it's boring. It's pretty much like not having a personality. Even if you are well adapted and really don't care, having an unpopular or dissenting opinion is better than not having one at all and it really negatively affects you socially. And so it was that I decided to formulate opinions and stand behind them, and to assert myself for what I wanted. I decided to care and take control of the direction of my life by actually communicating when I wasn't happy with a choice or decision or circumstance, or whatever. It was a bit of a long, gradual change from a strong, stoic shield that blocks attacks as a challenge to walking forward through the crowd with my shield up to make a path and move forward in a direction I wanted to go. -As far as persona arcana, I think my birthday actually puts me as the Star arcana, which I think suits me. Margaret had this to say about it: "It's a strong card, one that gives hope to those on the ground below. It shines in times of need. But, eventually, it is destined to fall to the earth and disappear... Even I can feel the sadness of this inescapable destiny..." Margaret, Persona 4 -Yeah, I tried the original league but I got stuck around halfway through. I also knew a lot less about the metagame then than I do now but I learned a lot about it pretty quickly from the others. But at the same time, my desire to really be competitive with pokemon just plummeted dramatically as a result. I didn't make any serious attempts at league after that. -Favorite? I'd say it is a three-way tie between Blastoise, Torkoal, and Mewtwo. -Today? Well, I'm actually really tired right now because my sleep schedule is out of whack and I'm staying up as late as I can to try to get it back on course. -I like cake. Without too much frosting and usually with a cold glass of milk or else it has the tendency to be too sweet. Oh yes, I remember that. I could have sworn we'd had some interaction before that. But yeah, I remember it but it never comes to mind whenever we talk or I think about you. I think it's safe to say the hatchet is buried and rusted away at this point. =P I can really only put those years as an estimate because the reason I actually went online and joined a forum was to get help with either MMBN3 or 4, I forget which. And so my first major community was that forum I joined. I can't remember the name, but it was the forum for a major gaming media help/review site, rather like ign. It might have been gamespot, but I really don't remember. Maybe Ame does. The main site and forums were taken over by new management and I lost interest in being there after all the changes and I hadn't looked back more than twice. Other than that, I was on Gaiaonline for a while. I was good at fishing and enjoyed the OMG mmo they've got. Now I don't remember how to get back to the crystal room so I can un-lower my character levels. As for when? There were both around the same time, so yeah 2004-ish. I logged into the old profile recently out of curiosity and let me tell you, the inflation is ungodly. 1. The army has made me an angrier person in that I really resent the military and the way it is run and it has pushed me to be more bold and expressive because there's only so much stupidity I'm willing to tolerate now that I'm no longer contractually helpless. I also appreciate school and civilian-side jobs a lot more. It also gives me a different perspective to some that. For example, I'm unafraid when the news screams that they're 'militarizing' the police because while most people see them as getting more dangerous and lethal, I see a bunch of dudes simply putting on more armor and gear that protects them more and weights them down and gets in their way and just holds more tools. They're not adding weapons or lethality, they're just adding utility and defense because they're worried about the heat the civilians are packing. 'Oh, they have a military truck now!' well the truck itself is garbage to ride in, but it does protect you more, and is way better at stopping bullets heading their way. There's no machine gun on top, so you can stop being scared now. The cops are more scared than you. And that's not a good thing. Advice? My best advice is to not enlist, but go officer. If you really must join a service, join the airforce. It doesn't matter which job, they're all cozy and treat you well and have better everything. EVERYTHING. Navy ranks second and it's a toss-up between army and marines as to which is worst. If you must enlist, do not be infantry. They will treat you like shit and waste your time and think of you as free labor. Also, don't be a medic because they'll put you in with the infantry and do everything with them. Don't be a supply guy. If things are run legit and by the books, you will regret it. Pick a job that will train you in skills that you can use at a job outside the military if you choose to leave it. 2. It's gotten way bigger, of course. There are a lot more younger people than there used to be, or at least it seems to me, so I'd say overall the maturity level has gone down, but that's just an overall average. There are just gonna be a few things that I put different value and priority on than they do and it can be exasperating sometimes. I really don't see it changing much in the future, tbh. The biggest push for change in the forum member base will most likely come from Ame's next game project after Reborn. I mean, I still see a lot of the same old metagame debates that have been going on for years around here Oh, that signature is of Scorpion and Sub-Zero fighting in the comics that go with Mortal Kombat X.

  16. When I left two weeks ago, I imagined I'd be gone a lot longer than this. There were a lot of small things that piled up together, certain things that became aggravatingly more prominent to the point where I felt that I would feel better if I just left. That was definitely true: I feel a lot better now. I just thought it'd be much longer than this. It turns out it was one of those things where I didn't need to leave, I just needed a breather. It really annoys me that it was so short- it just ruins a goodbye, like when you say goodbye to someone and then the two of you end up sharing the same path for several blocks before your paths split. I didn't think my leaving would make a ruckus, but it kinda did and that makes coming back all the more awkward... But I guess I'll have to get over the awkwardness because I'd rather be here than not (if in a much more limited way than before) and it just wouldn't be me if I didn't look at a small hangup like that and NOT go "I will break you". *snaps problem's spine in half and slams it around like Hulk playing whack-a-mole with Loki* visual included: So, what else brings me back, you might ask? Well, a lot of it is not being able to share the funny, interesting, cool, nerdy, and awesome shit I run across. I didn't have a mental outlet that even came close to replacing the organization, diversity, and community of reborn. So, I suppose that means I missed you guys. Plus, I was told that some of these AMA's were worth checking out. So, in the spirit of those other threads, I'll talk a bit about ancient reborn history. Like, really ancient. For me, Reborn history starts way before even the 2010 birth year of Reborn as a site. When I think of 2010, I think of it as the year I graduated college and I know for a fact I'd been on forums posting and messaging with the likes of Ame for years before that. It wasn't just poke-place or monkeypro before then, but a series of other small invisionfree boards started by various people. Hell, I'd still been in highschool when I first encountered Ame in cyberspace. Which reminds me, she went by the name of Cyberian at the time. I'd say that happened around 2003/2004. So yeah, I wasn't kidding when I said ancient. She was at the peripherals of my internet awareness at the beginning of everything but we would be staff on several different places before Ame invited me to the stability of Monkeypro. Heh, the guy who co-created the earlier boards with me was the one who tried to destroy it a couple of times and other people staff + drama meant that some others also abused their powers to try to bring the boards down in flames. I think at one point they tried to blame Ame for messing with some coding that made the boards go out of whack. More towards the end, someone made an amusing (if inaccurate) comic of the history of GU (gamer's underground, as the community was called) that initially portrayed me as the bad guy for some reason (we'll just call it artistic liberty). But I decided it was all in good fun and decided to roll with that role. That is actually where I began to take on and enjoy the role of devil's advocate, as had been my title here for a long time. With some googling I managed to find one last incarnation of GU and even found some random place where someone had put the comics. Sadly the pictures have expired from imageshack, but you can glean a few things by the titles. I went by Soulstrike back in those days, oftentimes shortened to SS or Soul. So for me, Reborn, while DRASTICALLY different from those days and places, feels more like a fruition of certain seeds planted back in those earliest of days than something that just started with this site or poke-place. I wonder how many of these names bring back memories for Ame. Honestly, there's so much stuff to that past and so much about it that I've forgotten that it's actually quite frightening. Trivia: As some of you may or may not know, I co-founded poke-place with Ame. But I wasn't around when it transitioned from being pokeplace to reborn. I was actually away at basic training when it happened. When I was finally able to access the internet again and join reborn proper, instead of being member #2 again (or anywhere in the single digits), I joined as member #117, which, as a halo fan, was just fine by me. Not that I really noticed till trainer cards were a thing. Sheer coincidence? You decide. xD Trivia 2: For reasons that I think had to do with Ame's hair in a picture, Ame was often referred to as Bear on monkeypro. =P Also in keeping with the other topics, I'm opening this up as an AMA as well, but with a slight twist. I want you guys to answer a few questions as well. I'll probably update this OP with more questions later but have these to start: Which of my many avatars do you like and/or remember the most? What was the last thing I said to you or talked about with you? Look at the top 100 billboard songs of the year you were born and name your 5 favorite songs from it. In spoilers, of course.
  17. such grump much past Do you still have that old koga avatar lying around on your computer? Which hentai series would you recommend? What is angry lemon and pigswag? I really don't know and I don't want to look it up because I'd rather hear it straight from the horse's mouth. That tropical frog tho.
  18. Which internet slum did you hang out in before you were invited to reborn? Which video game boss do you associate with the most? What were you doing in your backchannel, Edge of the World, that you've had since PO times? Whenever I popped in for a look, nothing was going on.
  19. you either have a lot of dogs or a lot of cats... but tfw the sole of my right shoe seems to have been nibbled away by a mouse. The other week the mousetrap my parents set up in the kitchen snagged one. And for my shoe liner to suddenly have a large hole eaten out of it so suddenly with me not wearing my shoes for 3 days out of 5 with no holes before-hand is too farfetched to believe.

  21. I honestly can't remember for the life of me who is actually supposed to die in the Civil war. While Marvel has done a great job of making great movies, I'm not a huge fan of a lot of their characters. But hey, I thought Iron Man was boring until that first movie totally sold it.
