Tip #1: do not underestimate the neutral combo. aka, the one where you keep tapping the basic attack button. They actually do a fair amount of damage and are the fastest attacks in the game. It's too easy to interrupt someone attempting a smash attack with a simple neutral combo or even a tilt attack.

As my first and best band instructor said, any monkey with a pair of sticks can play drums. But it takes more than that to make music with them.

Don't forget all the events that are Japan only. NA gets some stuff tossed at us sometimes but to Nintendo and Game Freak, every country not named Japan is an afterthought at best.
