  1. Also if the chess field annoys you: just send your pawn in with the move stomping tantrum, iirc Nidoking/Nidoqueen both learn it. Stomping tantrum destroys the field and basically nerfs his team's shenanigans. I always do this lol and it always works like a charm. Re: your team - Radomus doesn't have a psychic only team but rather one that works with the chessboard field. Your team is very dark-heavy, which means Radomus' Gardevoir (which is hella fast) and Escavalier (very slow) will fuck you up either way, depending on whether Radomus managed to set up Trick room or not. If I may suggest: send out a mon that knows Stoming tantrum and to make sure Radomus can't knock it out, either give it a Quick claw (and get lucky with it) or send out a second mon out that's ultra fast and can pull the attention (via Rage powder or something like that)(that would also free Skuntank to hold Dark glasses to further boost its dark attacks). After that, Skuntank can basically deal with his team all alone if it has good support on its side, because it doesn't have a Psychic weakness, can learn Dark attacks, plus it can pull off a Sucker punch too to get knockouts faster. It can ALSO learn Flamethrower to deal with Escavalier and Metagross. Plus, destroying the field doesn't impact the relationship points in any way, so yeah, stomping tantrum goes brrrr. I've found that the best way to deal with major battles (which include gym leader battles) is not to plan agains the opponent's typings but rather around the field in use. That can and quite often does make all the difference - because the fields can buff certain moves/mons so much that really, it doesn't matter if it's not super effective simply because it's just ultra strong on the field and working like a charm.
  2. Focus Sash goes brrr. Can't remember exactly where you'd get it, but there is def one before this particular match. Other options: using Toxic, Curse, etc. - alternatively, get a team full of Sudowoodos, Bastiodons, etc, and just go ham. At some point even that Garchomp must fall. I don't think you can outspeed it, because it's almost riduclously overlevelled compared to your level cap at that point in the game.
  3. You need to go "behind" the safe, it's where you can enter the path. I was confused by it too. You cannot go through the safe.
  4. I downloaded this and begun a New Game. How will I know I'm actually playing the swapped version instead of the "original"?
  5. Man, whenever I think I cannot get more hyped about the next update, y'all come and post stuff like this!!!! HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!! The sheer amount of STUFF you're implementing! And it looks SO AWESOME!!!!!! I'm so hyped. I'm SO FUCKING HYPED!!!!! It looks phenomenal!!!! Utterly blown away by everything.
  6. Tooting a similar horn: using the fields is vital, especial for major battles. Read up on the field effects (...preferably in the wiki, it's more descriptive than the in-game field nots imo), read up on what gets buffed and what gets debuffed. There's ALWAYS something that can be turned against your opponents and/or support your team. You can also change the field, which usually nerfs your opponents. There is literally no field that SOLELY benefits your opponent without benefitting you. It's always possible to benefit from the field!! So yeah, it's totally possible to do the game without any meta mons. I do gotta admit I did put in easier settings by...iirc Elite 4 or so, but before that it's super manageable.
  7. Yeehaw! Sounds awesome!! Also: cowboy!Emily? Sign me uuuuupppppppppppppppppppppppp
  8. Unfortunately no :( I played an Anna route (where Taka solves the issue) and had the automatic puzzle solving PW activated - seeing as that gave the option of skipping other puzzles, maybe I'll try my hand on another Lin route, hopefully the PW will take care of that puzzle.
  9. Hmmm...maybe having something to counter Lin's second fight(s)? Not to toot my own horn, but I'm a HUGE fan of just toxic'ing everything. Toxapex + Toxic Spikes to set up and then just keeping at least one member of your team alive with Potions/Revives. This probably counts as "cheesing it", but hey, it worked just fine (...talking from recent experience, tbh). And to poison everything flying/levitating: Toxapex can also learn Toxic. Maybe a Focus Sash if you're on Anna Route, just to make absolutely sure you'll poison the puppy in the room.
  10. Not to rain on your parade (...pun not intended), please consider that at least part of the Champion battles are fought on New World where any weather will fail. Edit: That being said, I'm a fan of Hail teams, because it allows you to also put up Aurora Veil, which also boosts your defense. Mega Abomasnow and Alolan Ninetails set up Hail upon switch-in + both learn Aurora Veil. Just keep something in your team that'll be able to deal with Ground attacks - it's something I've learnt on my latest run, lol. For some reason someone always had something that knew Earthquake and that's no bueno when you realize your team consists of 5 Ground weaknesses (and only 1 neutral :$)
  11. Worst case solution is just cheesing it with Toxic and call it a day. Throw in something that knows a protective move (Protect, Obstruction, etc) and thats it. Works like a charm. My de-shadowfied Cacturne kicked butt in those battles, and I hadn't even taught it Toxic. Just Obstruct + Leech Seed + some grass attack = presto
  12. This still applies :( It would be awesome if someone could help me, please!
  13. Is there a particular reason why your posts require leafing through multiple pages?
  14. Have you activated the shinycharm password? With that, iirc the longest it took me to breed a shiny pokemon was like 1 box full
  15. Oooooh!!!!!! This answers exactly zero questions and raises circa a million more, I LOVE IT!!!!! I'm super stoked to play through these scenes and find out what's tying them all together :D also I'm musing about Clear's behaviour here. Even taking into consideration her admission she's "stuck in her role" as Risa, her behaviour was strange. So far she's been extraordinarily calm and in control, and in this video she was not. Excited to see how that came to be tbh!!
