What IS that thing? It just crawled out of the shadows...
TsundereQueenZephi replied to Anvilicious's topic in Welcome Center
Hey, hey, hey! Stay outta mah shed. -
Some of you might know I'm a writer. The Divergency Matrix (Title and Story is currently a work in progress) is a novel I'm writing. It's a project I've been planning for a while and have decided to post the first draft of the prologue onto Reborn. I'd quite like some feedback upon the matter, be it positive/negative/constructive. Thanks for your time and here is the prologue: Prologue Footsteps echoed down the empty corridor, a monotone clap bouncing from the emptiness that surrounded as each foot met with the floor. The corridor itself was an almost blinding white, made even worse from the lights that hung from the ceiling. They seemed to shine bright enough to eradicate any trace of a shadow, creating the feeling of utter loneliness to walk down such a path,.with not even the darkness being able to follow suit, no matter how hard it would try. The man felt out of place, in his black suit. He felt like a smear, a taint to how pure the corridor felt in reflection to himself, not that the thought mattered. He wasn't paid to feel, just to do his job. The echoes of his footsteps filled the air, the only sound he could hear in an otherwise soundless, empty corridor. The walk would have drove him insane otherwise, he could have sworn to have heard the blood in his veins squirm throughout himself if he stood still for long enough. Is this how everyone else hat works here feels? he thought to himself. The Suited-Man often thought like this, too scared to ask any other colleague any similar questions to those that entered his head. He'd probably lose his job at DataDyne, or worse for asking. The rumours that he heard whilst trying to apply for the job a few years prior was enough to scare him at the time, but people need to survive somehow, or at least a few select few do. The Suited-Man lost track of how long he had taken to just walk down the corridor as he saw a door upon his horizon. It too was a bright, pristine white colour, with only the chrome door handle being the signifier that there was even a door there. The Suited-Man went to go check his watch, but remembered that it wasn't there. Company policy prohibited any kind of time keeping device, despite it being a law for the last couple of decades. Has it been decades? How long has it actually been since such laws were passed? It's hard to keep track of anything nowadays... the Suited-Man thought to himself as he turned the handle and opened the door. Darkness consumed his vision as the almost pitch-black room sucked all the light from the corridor in, revealing nothing but the open doorway where he stood, and his newly born shadow laying down before his feet. He walked into the room and closed the door behind him, staggering for a moment as his eyes slowly began to readjust to the darkness. After a moment or two the faint blue glow became more apparent, especially as it created a silhouette of a person before him. The room was louder than the corridor, a buzzing emanating from all directions. With his eyes more adjusted to the dark, The Suited-Man could see the flicker of lights appearing all around him, technology he didn't quite understand seem to be functioning and carrying out its tasks, whatever they may be. "Hey, how's the progress coming along?" The Suited-Man asked, rubbing his eyes as he walked towards the silhouette. "Fine." A feminine voice barely audible over the faint buzzing of machines responded. The silhouette pointed backwards, off into one of the corners of the room. "Subject is still missing but we're retrieving the last known logs in the system. Perhaps we recorded some of the plan or escape before the subject became 'aware'." The Suited-Man made a look of disappointment, not that it could be seen in the dark. Subject missing? Doubtful. Escaped, certainly. "Forget about looking for plans, look for his associates. DataDyne will fire us if we can't at least figure out what organization is behind this." The Suited-Man muttered. "If not worse..."

Character (Original RPer): "Sigma" Sophisticated Squirtle / Explosms) Classes: Assassin , Saber Alignment: Neutral. Parameters Strength: C Endurance: A. Agility: B. Mana: E-. Luck: B Phantasm: C. Class Skills All classes have two inherent skills. They can be found on the typemoon wiki, or in the profiles already created. Presence Concealment C Personal Skills Knowledge of Respect and Harmony B Protection of the Fairies C Presence Detection C Etc Life--Death C (anti-Unit) D (anti-army) A silence falls upon "Sigma"'s foe, with all sound being drowned by silence the longer "Sigma" is around the target and vision slowly turning monochrome. The longer "Sigma" is around his foe the more likely that the silence will drive the foe insane, increasingly so when the foe realises all that can be heard is their own blood pumping through their veins. ....And everything in between D - Anti-Unit As the Foe becomes insane, "Sigma" will slowly deteriorate from their vision, to the point of where it hurts to look at him for anything longer than a brief period at a time, though ones endurance can prolong how long they can look at him for before the pain becomes unbearable. All the other colours E- / C under the combined effects of "Life--Death.." and "....And Everything in Between" -Anti-self/Anti-unit When acting by itself, "Sigma" is able to create illusionary duplicates of himself, with small, barely noticeable differences between every duplicate. When the foe is under the effect of Life--Death as well as And Everything in Between the duplicates become perfect copies and can all attack.

3D vs 2D Sprites: What do you prefer and why?
TsundereQueenZephi replied to Caz's topic in Pokémon Fan Club
It all depends on the context upon which the sprite is being seen. I prefer 2D sprites for games such as Reborn and many of the handhelds, but to see a fully 3D rendered sprite at times is also really liked - the 3D being the closest thing to realistic we can get of a Pokemon without government experiments going right/wrong. -

FLAILS Way to go Kyobro! -
I think you should look at your current team and see where it is lacking when coming up with your decision. Would the Bug/Poison/Flying options be more beneficial and which can be utilized the most to help progress your team? Food for thought.

Hi folks! So the Reborn community weekly comic thing is going to get started soon, character designs will happen and all that other creative nuisances will be carried out. But it brings me to the thought of: what genres would you want the comic to be? There are so many ways a story could be told, and with the variety of genres that could be used is spectacular. However, with the open option it cause the flow of the story to slow down, or the crossing of genres could royally mess with the comic, making it near unreadable it if jumps from action to comedy to drama to noir to whatever. So here is my question: What genres would you want the comic to be? The most popular decision shall be the one that influences the overall tone of the comic, and the way that the story needs to be written so be thoughtful of your decision.

Agreed. It gets kind of daunting and repetitive knowing that the same pokemon will always be on the team, it takes away some of the randomness out of the matter. You essentially see the same pokemon with a variation of the same movement for extended periods of time, as who knows when the PoTD will change next? Ranked battles are different, and should be treated as such. The PoTD is more of a casual factor and I think really should be only in the tourney's and unrated battles, as they are exceptionally more casual.

So,open question. I'll be starting my first proper Reborn run. Played the intro a few times to test and see if the game works and it does. Starters. I can never decide on which to take, and so am leaving my type options open. Leaving them for you to decide, as pjblic choice is always best. Thoughts and opinions are valued, I just aim to enjoy myself.

Do the Writers Hate Ash?
TsundereQueenZephi replied to Raviel the Phantom's topic in Pokémon Fan Club
People wouldn't want to watch a program where the main character is always a boss, people always tend to root for the underdog after all. -
Extra thoughts for the matter: Would we need the Masterball or not? I mean, Amethyst has all the potential to lower or raise encounter rates if they're all runners, she presumably has the potential to lower or raise capture rates too. On top of this, she may utilize something from the original pokemon games: giving the masterball a chance to fail. None of this is set in stone, nor do I have any knowledge about the game, but i feel as if it should be a subject to be thought upon.
