  1. I totally failed to join this week, damn I like that one. 3rd might be my favorite though honestly. Haven't seen the past few but i tend to like them more than the regular anime (maybe they are more serious...like the anime was originally...) I didn't see anything about where you are streaming them though or how one would, erm, participate and with this, we have achieved cult status, whatnot. I really need to pay closer attention to the forums huh, because this was a quick announcement and I didn't see it in time.
  2. I have used both now and I prefer petra's, mainly because it seems faster, I mean it activates instantly and also can hit many times. I've been working on getting a double kill with one attack from her special (I have come close but it has to be lined up just right) but also because of the instant reaction and activation, sometimes I spin around a titan and break off to hit them with the special, and that works in situations where they turn so you couldn't get them with a regular attack. Also, somebody just revealed to me that you can use the mouse wheel to reel in your lines quickly, and if you're spinning around a tree or titan or something, and time it right, you can get right into the neck no matter how wide your spin was. I don't know if you all know about this or something, but i had no idea.
  3. Ha nice. This one is just because i thought I could take one that looks really awesome. What do ya think? Oh and i started using Petra, i guess i wanted to try it out but i like her special a lot so far. Another thing, not sure if people know, but a useful tip...if ever you are in front of a titan (not crawler) and you need to get to safety for a moment, instead of moving away...hook to his chest and reel in. They have no attacks that can hit you there. This is even better on Aberrant titans because it forces them to flop and then they go through you but don't kill you, so you end up on their back. You can kill them there or wait but it's easier and smoother than hooking around them, it might look scary but it's safer too.
  4. Got bored, started playing on City in single player. I spawned, hooked into a couple of buildings, flew forward and angled myself toward a titan I saw in the distance, expending gas all the while. Hit it on a fly-by and got this number, I think it might be my highest yet. I have gotten a few in the 1200s but I don't remember ever hitting this high. I don't know if I could do it again though lol, doing those dive kills is hard and to get the higher scores I think you need to hit the in a side-swipe fly-by slice, which is pretty situational. wow i wish i had a video of this...i just stood on a building about to slash an aberrant titan whose eyes were level with the edge of the building, and just as i s;ash he jumps (you know how titans can go through buildings and such) and....i killed him. He jumped at me against the building and i suppose i must have hit the back of his neck as it was going through the building right in front of me. It was hilarious, but i am still dumbfounded. Also, I just love it when titans are too fat to get to me.
  5. Hosting a server: Rebrn (in turquoise, i don't know how to change the color of words here) The Forest III 12 players 99 time DO NOT JOIN THAT!!! There is a hacker in there who keeps fucking with everybody, we kick him and he comes back. He keeps removing the chat feature for everybody, or at least amking it invisible, and he never plays at all, he's just tormenting people. Starting a new one, this one with a password and in deep orange: Rebrn PASSWORD: reborn The Forest III 12 players 99 time Nobody joined, so i gave up and left I can't beat 20 waves by myself yet XD hell I couldn't get past 6 actually. I kept running into crawlers and they were not very friendly.
  6. lol damn i missed ya, i've been going solo in the City for a while myself though. 57 kills 3 deaths so far, scores have been crappy but i'm happy with my K/D these days. I gotta check the forum more so i can join ya next time ha so i ran out of time with 112 and 6. Crawlers killed me most of those though...i killed a few actually but the small ones are really hard solo. I always use Sasha though, that speed is so useful i swear. By the way Arkhidon, how did you screenshot those numbers? I can only see tham in fullscreen and you can't screenshot fullscreen...or at least i tried with Lightshot and it just knocks me out of fullscreen before i even take it.
  7. Mirai Nikki was, for me, an anime that had an interesting start and had some good character development but became epic and fantastic and jaw-dropping-spectacular toward the end....and I think that's mainly because I watched it all in a couple days, and the anime, well...it connects. Beautifully and flawlessly, it connects all sorts of things together in ways that are impossible to understand until you get a certain twist that makes you rethink everything, and all of the questions are answered and everything comes together, and I loved that experience to the point of absurdity. It's like the end of The Usual Suspects but amplified. I can't even describe it. Oh and yuno became crazy partly due to her obsession and her home life but also because of her conundrum with space and time and the powerlessness of even the supposedly omnipotent state of being. You can't really understand it all and get that feeling though unless you know, by heart, everything that happened in the series as you watch it, and in order to do that you really need to watch it quickly and pay very close attention. I know people who watched it over a period of weeks and didn't make the connections, and I think that is why. Once it explained and elaborated on everything that had come up in the series, and started really gearing into the concept of time, space, and causality and the relation of events and their impact on people, I reached a point where I was positively giddy with excitement and wonder. It was a fucking euphoria. It's currently my favorite anime because of that (DC comes close though, Monster might be #3 these days) I haven't seen Fate/either of them yet, I probably should, I have heard they are both pretty good but I actually don't know which one to watch first.
  8. Whoa really? So few...hmm, maybe another season then, who knows. I really want to see what happens though regardless.
  9. I watched the first episode today, it was awesome! I like the characters so far and I really want to know why they are doing this stuff.
  10. Oh i didn't know it changed with the update, or that he got a spin...umm......I don't know, try asking around in the game.
  11. Phantom: Requiem for the phantom. Mirai Nikki...for the most part. There's a little silliness mainly due to the initial immaturity of the main character. Psycho Pass for sure, it's amazing. I'd wager Durarara falls in line. Monster, definitely, 100%, beyond any doubt, Monster. If you want a really serious anime serious with a lot of realism and excellent drama, watch that. Not Kill La Kill. Definitely not. No way. That show is great but very silly and ridiculous. Also guys, I watched the first two episodes now of Tokyo Ghoul because people were talking about it, and...i'm very interested in how this might pan out. This show is definitely pretty cool so far.
  12. pretty sure it is just Right-clicking. It lasts like 30 seconds, and it's pretty OP and you're considered a noob if you do it unless there are crawlers.
  13. I get 1000+ kills but not all the time...although i don't think that was the point because even from that video it's not like it showed one clip of 15 in a row, he probably doesn't get them that often, he just took the ones he gets and put them together on video. I was talking more about the kills themselves. I've seen people get like 1800 though and i've never hit that high, I think it's probably random to an extent. I mean the way you kill them matters but if ya kill them the same way with the same speed and everything you won't always get the same score. Hosting one myself now, dunno what color the name ended up being but it is Rebrn as well. it isn't white though so it should be noticable. Doing outside the walls because why not. HOW DO YOU RIDE THE HORSE...just jump on it Ok so i closed the session because...well, i apparently became stuck in a glitch where every titan kill resets the game. Which makes it annoying. I will reopen it but in the same place, hopefully it doesn't happen again. So apparently, every time you kill all the titans, it resets and every titan you kill makes you win. I don't think this is random i think it will happen always. Remaking lobby in trost 1.
  14. I do most of that often...lol I remember i actually learned to fly at a titan's neck from far away to kill them that way before I got any good with the maneuver gear. Getting those side-swipe kills is hard though, I usually just go for a head-on kill. Especially since they can often turn just a little and then you can't get that bit of their neck. A lot of people though, I have noticed, tend to hook into a titans neck, spin around their face really fast, expend a ridiculous amount of steam, and then kill the thing after a while. It seems like they are just being flashy, it isn't very time-efficient and it's a bit dangerous. When you want to get the most kills out of a bunch of people in one map, you need to learn to get around the titan, fly at its neck and slash, and then move on to the next. Quick and clean, no flashy ridiculous spinning and very little steam use. After a good many hours in the forest taking down titans in such a way and keeping above the competition, I'm happy with my style. Still though...i'm pretty bad with crawlers. I have found that I can kill them easily if I can get them to stop or at least slow down, and I can land on their backs. The main problem is that the small ones are still very fast but landing on their back is much harder, especially while they are moving, which is almost always. I can perform a swooping or diving kill on a normal titan easily at this point, but the kill with a crawler must ALWAYS be vertical unless you get them during a jump, which I have never seen anybody successfully do...so it's hard, for me at least. I could maybe switch to a character with a vertical special attack, but I would lose my precious Sasha Speed, which I use for many strategies when killing titans (and also she can outrun a crawler which is great to help teammates so they can kill it while you are...uh, bait.)
  15. Maelstrom, I have to agree about Fairy Tail...I like it but it can be really crappy sometimes. One Piece stuff does tend to be...hard to understand sometimes admittedly (There was a guy...on a train...that used food as a weapon....and basically just took WAY too long to be beaten) although honestly it sounds like you wanted it to be a lot less ridiculous than it is. One Piece is supposed to be ridiculous most of the time and it plays off of that and even pokes fun at itself sometimes. Still, if you strongly dislike that kind of thing i suppose, just watch Detective Conan. I mean everybody should watch it. For reasons. Like this: Step 1: Watch Detective Conan. Step 2: Profit. That's it though. Okay okay seriously it's a really great, smart, complicated dramatic anime with some good action too. It also happens to be the most realistic anime I have seen yet, with very little outside the normal physics and natural world(pretty much just some advanced technology, but not really....TOO advanced) actually I think Google Glass is way more advanced than anything in Detective Conan. In all honesty, it has more episodes than anything I could think of, but it is also much more entertaining. It doesn't take a lot of episodes for very little to happen...instead, a TON will happen over the course of many episodes until it...culminates I suppose. It's hard to even explain but it's the kind of thing that will give you goosebumps because of the plot twists and the epic moments and the correlations...I can't even...I just....yea. Watch it. Yes it's well over 700 episodes. I watched it over the course of a year and I regret none of the time spent. Some of the fillers are less than adequate but most of them are pretty entertaining in their own rite. The only thing is though that it doesn't really build of to its own tier of awesomeness until around episode 150 I think. That doesn't mean you shouldn't watch it though, it gets good right away and then it gets better but you'll have to wait for it to get fantastic. It's worth it though.
  16. Oh i prefer that too, i just think it's nice to have tons of episodes, but maybe it's partly because i have a good bit of free time and a 24 episode series will last me a few days probably, if i'm really into it. I just feel like it's...odd to think of it as "dragged out", or rather, to think of that kind of thing as...bad. I can't tell ya how many times somebody has said "Oh that's X hundred episodes, i don't have time for that so i won't start it" and all i can think is "the episode count doesn't matter at all because if you have time for 1 episode of anything ever, you have time for all of them, just don't expect to finish it in a couple weeks."
  17. Two things: 1: I never judge anything by its graphics or art. Growing up playing black and white games and watching plenty of hand-drawn animation, I just don't see the point. I can appreciate great animation but no matter how something looks, i refuse to let it negatively affect my opinion. 2: It has about 650 right now, and the thing is....with the few series that have such a staggering length, there is so much lore and character development that it becomes significant and holds you begging for more because of it. Something like One Piece or, especially, Detective Conan, is so grandiose that it slowly wraps around you. You become knowledgeable with the characters and names and places, and companies and groups and recurring themes. Both of those anime series will make connections to other parts of the show, such as characters and events, sometimes even hundreds of episodes later. It's difficult to describe though honestly. Yes I know, the length is staggering...take your time though. Let it be something to watch, when there is nothing else. Eventually it will consume your attention and you won't really want to do anything else. These are not series that pull you in right off the bat. These are series that might pique your interest at first, and you watch more and more and after maybe 100 (probably at least 150 in detective conan, in fact a fan favorite main character is introduced in episode 129) episodes, you're at the edge of your seat thinking and remembering and working it all through. It becomes a web of understanding that is woven through your mind. As I said, it is difficult to describe, this experience. It is different from even the most wonderful 26 episode anime. It's not necessarily better or worse overall, but there's so much more to it, more that happens, more characters and development...when a series is over 500 episodes it's not because it is drawn out so much that it takes forever to finish and the story should be done. It's simply a very long and complex story, something that could not be condensed without completely destroying the quality. Compare it to certain literature, perhaps even the epic Paradise Lost, or certain book series. Even if it is very lengthy and takes a considerable amount of time, it needs to be due to the sheer proportion of the story itself. If the harry potter series (not really long enough but a good, popular example nonetheless) were condensed to one book that is about 500 pages, it would be more convenient for people. People could read it much more quickly. However, would that not hinder it? Hell, I don't think anybody would care for it much. I realize this is becoming long, and I apologize. Perhaps this has turned into a rant. Moral of the story: Even if it is really long, watch it anyway. Nobody expects you to be done in a week, or a month, or even 3 months. To watch all of One Piece right now would take somewhere around 250 hours I suppose. What if you watch 2 episodes a day? That's 45 minutes or so. You'll be done in about 4 months that way. Think about it in the long run. It's simple, it just isn't quick. Even when you're not that into it yet, it can be something to fallback on. That's what I did for a while; Looking for something to watch but can't find anything? Watch it. Bored and unsure of how to spend free time? Watch it. Etcetera etcetera. Seriously though it really seems like you're just worried about the length but you(and many other people) seem to think about it as you would a short, 12 hour series, and that is irrational. It just isn't the same, but different is not bad.
  18. It's from Shinichiro Watanabe. The man who created Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo. Psychological Thriller. It looks amazing, and i figured it might warrant its own topic because it can have its own discussion as it goes on. Maybe it will be great, who knows. But it's looking to be pretty interesting.
  19. There are some anime that you should watch in dub. FMA(both) is one of them. Some anime get the dub so wrong with terrible voice acting and ridiculous dialogue and sounds, or they might even heavily edit things (one piece dub should never be spoken of) but a few are really good. Code Geass comes to mind as well. I think my favorite voice actor is currently Crispin Freeman.
  20. That is not a whistling motion...that is an eating motion. I looked it up though too. Regardless, she is most definitely a badass That's interesting and awesome, i wonder what else people could kill titans with. Fingers crossed for exploding titan heads.
  21. I think i have gotten a lot better now, i've been doing online matches, i usually have a K/D around 10-12. I use Sasha now, her special is not an attack but instead she eats a potato and gets around 4x movement speed for like 10 seconds. Great for baiting titans and getting around them, or just closing the distance without needing to swing around. I find that one of the most useful tactics is to hook into a titan's forehead and hover a bit above them...they will try to grab you but if you stay out of reach and hook into the back of their neck, you can swing right into it and cut them down. It's fast and simple but just make sure you either go really fast or stay high because they could still grab ya. Still having loads of trouble with crawlers though.
  22. Why? Have you watched all of it? It becomes a lot more serious a few hundred episodes in. That probably sounds crazy though. Honestly for me it was something to watch but as i watched more and more, it drew me in with the development, the lore, and the overall story.
  23. Just about anything by Stephen King is a good read. The Fae series by Karen Marie Moning comes to mind. I've read so many good novels though... My favorite book i have ever read is The Long Walk by Stephen King though....i can't even talk about it, i don't even want to reveal the smallest detail. Just read it. It's very philosophical and very fascinating and it's a wonderful work of fiction. Read it. Both King Murdoc and Maelstrom have recommended Wheel of Time i see. In a matter such as this, i greatly value both of their opinions. I must read those books posthaste.
  24. If i am female, does that mean i get free drinks?
  25. I gotta be honest, i don't think i could bring myself to watch the next season because of how i felt about the first. It skipped around in time constantly, main character won impossibly, (glitch...?) everybody loved the main guy, even his sister (i know they aren't biological siblings, it's still weird) ...and it's an epic ripoff of .hack//sign. Maybe i could forget all of that if it had better writing or plot, but watching it was a chore for me. It seems doubtful that the people that made it could make a second season that is worth watching. It had nice animation and some cool fights. I can praise it for that, but not for anything else.
