Virulas

All gens are equal in my heart.

That's actually subjective. Personally my favorite Generation is Gen II, but I won't say it's the greatest.

They all have their ups and downs, and a real fan of the franchise is able to see this.

If anything, Gen I places third behind Gen V on my list of favorites.

Gen I is nice on a nostalgic level, yes. But if you get right down to it, the Gen I games were a complete mess. Sure they introduced the series, and all of the mechanics and such that made it great. But, when you get down to it... Outside of Yellow, the Gen I games weren't that incredible. Art Style was disgusting, compared even to other games of its time. Bugs were rampant... I'm happy that they're expanding further upon the series, and each new expansion is greater than the last...
