Rotom. Immune to Explosion, Sonic Boom, and resists electric attacks.

I think the first place you can encounter Zubat is in Tanzan mountain, certainly not remotely close to that early in the game. Check the locations guide --> 1st gen --> ctrl+f "Zubat"

I'd definitely say Aya was the hardest for me, but she's been nerfed at least once since then.

Yeah I've never been big on Explosion in single battles personally, I'd also suggest he takes that off for Stealth Rocks/Reflect/Light Screen or maybe Zen Headbutt if he has to have an attack.

I'm going to be quick about this, but the first thing that jumps out to me is that you have nothing that can take Special attacks well. Hope that something doesn't get switch advantage on you and sets up. Look through here and find something you like (Not in ubers) and also consider possibly getting something with Whirlwind/Roar Way too many pokemon with EQ/Rock Slide. Sceptile suffers from being having more special attack, but no good special moves, I also think Aerodactyl AND Salamence seems a little redundant. I'd probably say put a Mandibuzz in their with MAX HP, and then wherever else you want with either of the defenses. Give it Foul Play, Defog, Whirlwind/Toxic, Roost IMO.

OK I'm going to start doing something a little bit different. I'm going to do a playthrough where I will be using the same type as each leader for their gym battle. I will allow 5 people to select ONE pokemon for me to use against that leader and I will also choose one once the other 5 have been chosen. You may be as nice or as cruel as your heart desires. You may choose a pokemon that is not obtainable in Reborn however, it must be the same type as the next leader I face and obviously no legendaries. I can use any items that are obtainable to that point in the game to evolve a pokemon as far as I can. To clarify further, the moment I beat the first gym I must then switch to the next type until I beat the next gym, once I beat Julia I will then have a full grass team until I beat Florinia. This also includes leaders that don't give you a badge. The exception I will make is Bennett since he back-to-back with an actual leader. Since the first leader is Julia, I will be using Electric types. So what electric types should I use? Added Rule #1: If a leader has a pokemon, I can not use that same type of pokemon, e.g. Shelley has a Yanmega, I can't use Yanma/Yanmega.

Yeah well, I've been keeping pace with you this week since I'm literally in the middle of nowhere Virginia. As far as other ways to find Protein, you'll probably be able to find a couple if you spam itemfinder everywhere, (and you'll also find other useful items while you're at it)
