I made this team a while back and I've been trying it out, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to improve the team without losing coverage and stuff (maybe I'm just bad ). Advice needed!
This is for Pokebank OU btw (can't remember if Deoxys-D is usable on PO, but on Showdown it's viable)
The Team:
Deoxys-D @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 200 Def / 52 SpD
Nature: Calm (+SpD, -Atk)
- Stealth Rock
- Recover
- Taunt
- Toxic
Basically my lead. I've considered getting Spikes but Taunt has come in handy on a number of occasions, so I'm still unsure about that. It also serves as a wall as I'm not really running any others apart from Chansey. I've tried using Timid Deoxys-S with the same moveset, with a Sash, but I find I prefer Deoxys-D more.
Gets royally screwed by a Pursuit-trapping Mega Absol.
Garchomp @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SpA)
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Stone Edge
Standard Scarfchomp. I was running a Band set before hence why Iron Head is still there. It used to catch Fairies completely off guard, often OHKOing them, but since I've switched to Scarf (to compensate for the lack of speed in my team) I'm not sure what to replace it with. Fire Fang was one option, but I have a counter for the likes of Ferrothorn and such.
Heatran @ Choice Specs
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Nature: Modest (+SpA, -Atk)
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Dark Pulse
- Flash Cannon
This is the biggest question mark. I can't decide between Specs and Air Balloon, or even Scarf. The coverage and sheer power it offers with a Specs set is extremely useful (dat Fairy counter tho), but the lack of an Air Balloon makes it difficult to safely switch into considering the number of Ground types in the metagame at the moment. I have been considering using a Balloon but I'm not sure what sort of moveset I would use if I do.
Chansey @ Eviolite
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Nature: Bold (+Def, -Atk)
- Protect
- Wish
- Toxic
- Heal Bell
Basically without Chansey the whole team turns to poo-poo. Can't decide whether to run Softboiled or Protect (Protect seems more logical and helps with Toxic stall). The Wishpassing is very effective on my bulky attackers (less on Chomp) and keeps my team's survivability up.
Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spe
Nature: Impish (+Def, -SpA)
- Protect
- Substitute
- Earthquake
- Aqua Tail
I didn't want to use Toxic because there may or may not be one too many Toxic staller in the team. Instead I chose Aqua Tail to surprise threats like Talonflame, other Gliscors, etc. Roost was an option but with Poison Heal stalling and Wishpassing it seemed redundant. Basically I use Gliscor to stall and wait for the right opportunity to send Chansey in to Wishpass.
Blastoise @ Blastoisinite
Trait: Rain Dish [Mega Launcher]
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 Spe
Nature: Modest (+SpA, -Atk)
- Scald
- Rapid Spin
- Dragon Pulse
- Aura Sphere
My designated Mega. A bulky special attacker with good coverage, and one of my favourite Pokes to use in 6th Gen. Mega Blastoise rounds off the coverage needed in my attacking trio, checking/countering the likes of Dragons, Heatran, Excadrill, and the ever-annoying Cloyster. I'm wondering if I should replace Dragon Pulse with Dark Pulse as Scarfchomp would outspeed any Dragon-type opposition without said item.
Conclusion:
Quite frankly, this is the first Gen 6 team I've made and I'm still getting used to not using weather teams (Yep, I'm one of those guys...), so I'm not winning as much as I hope to with these six Pokes. Hope you guys can give me tips!
