A trick I use, well not so much of a trick really if let them use up their 3? I think is the amount they usually have on like a weaker pokemen you can easily beat. Then bam, rest of the battle is a cakewalk. Might help you out a bit.

I would say Gardevoir, only because Gallade doesn't learn a fighting move until 59 /: I mean you can teach it rock smash, but that'd be a laugh. xD If Gallade had more diverse fighting moves mixed in with Psychic or better fighting TMs then I would say even. xD
