    experienced game makers, I need some assistance/guidance for my game. I have completed 98% most likely episode 1 of the story for my game, bunch of bios, world is defined well. Concepts fleshed nicely. I am lost as to when I should make a recruitment thread to progress the game. :D

    What idea did you have Tomas? I was going to say Tomas' guide about doing a fangame covers a bunch of topics but this thread covers very thoroughly only doing characters and dialogue which is why I suggested pinning this because it's a quick resource for information just on this topic instead of having to sift through all the tomas guide but if not, then okay it was just a suggestion.

    Okay so this thread is a huge resource for game makers when it comes to creating good characters and dialogue because all the experienced people are putting their thoughts and expertise into one place. I'm really glad this was made by you Shattered because it has helped me create better characters for myself tbh so thanks to everyone here for putting your thoughts. I don't know about others but I believe this should be pinned considering it can be a resource to new game makers. Just my opinion. Tomas I completely agree with you about everything you said and my proof for why is I was working on characters yesterday in my document but I always had micky and Trevo around to critique what I was doing in order to improve it even if I thought it was good, I was being told, no this is a way you can improve it and it really helped me do so. I do agree everybody whether you know or don't know them will argue, it's just natural when you work with other people. I have never had a team in my life where there has not been arguing or discussion among people. I also agree that a game with a team is so much better than one made alone because with a team, you have many mindsets developing the game and it can be good or bad but I find the final result is usually better than worse so far. Commander I wasn't trying to say all games would fail if you don't have a team and that's why I specifically used Aegis as the example. As just a heads up about both potentials should Shattered not go with a team in the end. I do agree working on some things alone is good like bios but then I think in my experience you do need somebody who you can work with well to critique what you are doing. Also I never said a full team was necessary, I just was advising to get a couple other people to assist her because it would be beneficial. I appreciate you calling me out though. it helps me be able to make myself more clear. Hiss13 and CallmeFreak, you two have very informative and I think very useful tools if you ever get stuck with the character and dialogue creation process, to be able to get things started so thanks for making your posts because I know I have learned some really cool things from reading and thinking about you wrote.     The big problem with doing it all yourself Shattered even if you work better alone is you would most likely end up like how Aegis's creator did which is completely exhausted and ending the project part way through because of it being too much to do for one person. I wish you luck with everything whatever you decide to do and hope the game will be amazing. Have a great night/day.

    OMG you and Commander gave such well detailed and thought out answers and advice. I feel bad now that my advice isn't very helpful but I hope to become better as I progress with the game and then maybe I can be just as knowledgeable as you guys are. Great answers you two.     Hello ShatteredSkys. My only advice is to try to differentiate your characters by giving each a unique backstory and personality and with a bunch of potential characters, I know it's probably tough to do so. I highly recommend getting a team if you don't have one already together though because you have quite a bit of progress and if you don't have one, you're at the point where you would need one I think. I'm actually going through this myself for my game and so far I'm being able to distinguish characters from each other. If you think dialogue is dry, I would recommend you get someone you trust to look at it and give you their honest opinion about it and suggestions about how to improve.     Hey ShatteredSky. I'm wondering if you still want beta testers still or if you are good? I have done beta testing before and I find I am really good with reporting and observing issues in a game.     I don't understand humanity. They say one thing and do another. it's like double-edged sword always and it's really annoying to deal with ugh. Whatever the person is gone and I don't have to deal with them anymore. I tried ending on a positive note but they didn't want to so whatever. I have other people and friends to talk to. :D Thanks to all my friends and family out there. You're the best.

    I'm curious but how involved is Commander in all the reborn forums because I swear I see him everywhere mostly dictating or making suggestions about everything. It makes me worried if I have to ever have a battle of wits with him in the future because we disagree that he could destroy me here and make everyone hate me and with me trying to do my own game sometime, that would not be good. ;D Hmmm. I guess we both just have to get along I guess.

    I never had to deal with these items luckily but I was waiting for them at all times tbh. I'm very supportive and happy you have decided to stop the distribution of these mess with people items. I'm sure we'll survive without them though. ;D Good luck Jan with your plans.

    Well I just looked through the RP forum and it's full of random topics I have no clue about and thus have no interest in and there are no pokemon RPs that are active really or that are signup ready. If I have to take part before even considering doing my own RP, it's going to be a really long time then. Hmmm I wonder what I can do. :( Oh well we'll see. :D

      Quite a few of them are original works. I recommend reading through a few more; there has to be SOMETHING you like there.

      Yeah I noticed quite a few are originals but I am noticing a lot are in progress and not in signup stage so joining possibility is low no? Maybe i'm wrong and if so, let me know please. :D Question: How does joining and taking part in RPs help me make my own in time because what if what I joined is completely different from what I'm planning to do as an RP? Just wondering and thanks for answering my questions. :D

    Honestly I want to try creating an RP but I'm scared I will do it wrong or that people won't want to join because I have never tried something like this before. I'm thinking Fire Emblem with numbers and strategy involved or maybe digimon or yugioh. Man I suck at creative ideas. hahaha. :D

      I haven't joined any RPs actually. My first would be the FE one Commander does if he does it in the future. I didn't know or think I had to join RPs before I could do my own but I guess that makes sense. It's just the RP topics I've seen don't interest me enough to join them.

      WELLLLL, I've been on this here servers and forums for a mighty long time.... Since 2012 in fact when the very first episode of Reborn was out. Of course, I don't believe I actually started playing it until Episode 5 or so. ANYways... The Gator wars was the darkest of days.... So much rage, as I tried making my stories, only to have to delay. ESPECIALLY with Pokemon Y's story... Even though we have a different server now, that kind of thing STILL happens. Dang kids need to...

I think you are doing well with posting the stories though so it all works out in the end. :D

    I'm reading all the statuses and some are are kind of a downer but for example I understand where they come from so I wish them well. Just imagine the Final fantasy community though. I hear it's a nightmare especially with FF7 fanboys against everyone else lol. I'm still waiting for Commander's FE RP to happen myself :D Also, debating if I should try RPing myself soon

    I'm watching Sacred's LP of the current Reborn and it got nerfed badly. I remember Gossip Gardevoir being 65 when I faced her in the battle not 60 like it is now and Samson's team levels has dropped quite a bit too and I'm like what!? this is so easy compared to when I played a year ago. ;D

      I mean, levels hardly matter that much. Like that Gardevoir, the difference between it's Sp.Atk at levels 60 and 65 is only 17 points.

    OMG If I was the MC in reborn in arc dcitae when GG tries to steal keys from me, I would battle and knock it out lol instead of letting it get near me to steal ugh. Stupid GG. :( Watching Sacred's lp that's how I learned GG does this.

      I noticed quite a bit that those 4 key items keep getting stolen, returned then stolen or given again and again. Isn't that too repetitive in the plot? :(

    Update on me: feeling much better but having annoying bronchitis and coughing due to it constantly is annoying for me. The cold symptoms have gone away mostly so yay for that. Thanks for all the well wishes while I was cold like sick for the last 4 days. I appreciated it :D

      I got antibiotics for the bronchitis yesterday with a week worth of pills so hopefully by the end of taking the week, the bronchitis will go away even though it can last weeks. :(

      I've had bronchitis several times before. It's not fun. Especially when you catch measles around the same time.

    Remember how I said I was sick with cold like symptoms on Tuesday morning. Well it got worse and I apparently have bronchitis and have had to miss and thus transfer the weight of those midterms to the final exam percent ugh 85% law final SCARES ME GREATLY. :( STUPID SICKNESS

    I'm sick with sore throat and feeling weak everywhere and I have a midterm (luckily only 15%) in 1 hour . Wish me luck ugh. :(

      I just contacted my professor and he said since I was sick, I could do my midterm Friday morning with other students who have conflicts as well. My professor is just a saint OMG. Thanks for the well wishes though. I hope I don't get a fever because then I really become bad and miss school for days lol.
