  1. "It's simple. All I need is..." Cedric paused for a moment, looking the elemental up and down. Would the parasite even work on this creature? He questioned. I mean, he doesn't have veins. What would it bond with?" "All you need to do is sit tight for now, maybe cause some trouble every so often just to keep the orderlies off of myself. I'll talk to Finch when I can and he'll tell me whatever he has planned." With that, Cedric turned to take his leave, debating whether or not to scout for other possible allies or return to Ward A. (( Sorry for the long wait in reply, got called away for some military training I didn't realize I signed up for and was preoccupied with that for the last week or so. Would have gave some kind of a heads up had I known... ))

    Tyrogue

    Ah, I see. Thank you.

    Tyrogue

So Tyrogue's on the obtainable list but I've had little luck finding him. If anyone knows anything, that would be lovely. And I've checked pretty much every inch of the tower. Sadly no luck.
  4. "Right...Message boy...Anyways, his name is Finch, an inmate down in Ward A. That's all I can say; that's all I know. Just like everybody else here, he likes to keep secrets." Cedric replied. "As for how, I'm not sure either. I was just told to recruit the strongest and...well whoever is willing and we'll go from there. Is that enough for you?"
  5. Flareon (M/F) @ Assault Vest Trait: Flash Fire EVs: 216 Atk / 252 SDef / 40 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, - SAtk) - Flame Charge - Flare Blitz - Iron Tail - Superpower   After a few hours of Assault Vest testing, this is what I've come up with. The goal seems to be putting dents in special attackers, and Flare Blitz does the job well. iron Tail and Superpower provide decent coverage while Flame Charge gives you a non-recoiling STAB, the speed boost is a bonus. Catching a Flash Fire boost is even better.   A.Vest Flareon can wall just about every special attacker along with fairy types (Azumarill and Mawile as exceptions) . Though with no means of recovery outside of passing on wish, sub-par base defense, recoil in Flare Blitz, and a weakness to Stealth Rock, taking damage adds up quickly. And don't even consider challenging Azumarill...   Basic tactic - Swap in on a special attacker (preferably fire types or fairies), if you predict they'll stay in: Flame Charge, if you predict they'll swap: choose preferable attack, get out. A slow hit-and-run may not seem like much but one wrong play on your opponents end and the chances of losing a chunk of health are high.
  6. Has anyone tried or seen an Assault Vest Flareon or am I just a madman for thinking about it...?
  7. "I'm not even sure myself," Cedric chuckled. "But honestly, who wants to be trapped in this hell hole? I had no say in coming to this place, and I have no say in leaving. I just figure with the right type of....power, some of us might just stand a chance." He hesitated as he thought on the previous encounters with Finch and the vampire. "Others are willing, so could you..."
  8. Cedric paused for a moment, moving only to jot down a quick note before returning to reality. "Well, like I said, this isn't really my ward so I'm not authorized to do anything. I'm just here to...scout potential escapees." Leaning against the opposite wall, he noticed the dehumidifier sitting the corner of the cell. Cedric gestured to the device with his pen. "Though I might be persuaded to tweak that thing just a little for you. To slowly drain the battery without the other orderlies noticing."
  9. Just glancing at your team, you should be fine. In my opinion, you're running the top 5 (hint: exclude Tangrowth. Though I'd argue Scrafty would be in there somewhere) obtainable Pokemon in Reborn with solid movesets, covering most types and not slacking in support moves. While most of your team is straight forward attackers with the ability to setup, the computer AI typically won't be able to plot against that. Physical sweep (Blaziken), speed (Crobat), solid resistances and special attack (Magnezone), physical check and setup sweep (Gyrados), Physical wall (Tangrowth), and Special sweep (Alakazam), what more could you ask for? The only thing I could remotely suggest is dropping Magnezone for a special wall or status abuser (Umbreon, Mismagius, Umbreon...) but even then, Magnezone can hold its own and contribute well. More so if fairy typing is implemented. Or drop Tangrowth for Crustle...because yes.
  10. "Water, huh?" Cedric said, eyeing the elemental up and down. "I guess that makes sense. I'm no expert on elementals but isn't water also your source of power? Wouldn't I just be making you stronger?"
  11. Cedric turned at the noise, facing what appeared to be a water elemental, though the absence of water in the air was notable. "I'm sorry," Cedric started, flipping through his clipboard. "I'm not typically schedule to be up here so I don't really know what to give you." Plucking the cigarette from his mouth, he dragged the ash along the wall of the cell, diminished the fire. "Though you could tell me what you eat. Along with whatever else you may wish to share."
  12. "That's how his power works," Cedric retorted, beginning to take his leave. "I'll be back eventually with yours. Need to see what other wonders this ward holds first." As he returned to surveying the cells, Cedric shook his head briefly. The donating blood part he could do, but breaking the bond was completely out of his hands. He was sure his vampire friend wouldn't be too fond of knowing that, thus he decided to keep it quiet. All this trouble to pursue, more or less, being fired from a job he demanded he be a part of, Cedric was regretting his career choice slowly. He should have went to law-school instead. (( That's all I got for tonight, need to work some other projects lol. Besides, at this point, Cedric is just waiting for others in Ward C and Finch is just waiting for Cedric to return. So works pretty well. ))
  13. "There's a lot of things I don't know," Cedric chuckled, pulling a cigarette and match from his coat. A quick flick of his wrist and the orderly was inhaling the coveted nicotine. "I don't know why you would be worried about us...humans...getting ourselves into trouble. I don't know if we even could escape with everyone's help. I'm just a man of science, trying to find answers." A faint cry rang through him, causing a stinging sensation to strike his arm. Cedric looked down and noticed the parasite-infested veins pulse with each breath he inhaled. It was feeding the creature, though it didn't seem very pleased. "Anything I could do to at least consider the deal?" He offered to the vampire.
  14. Cedric knew he was gambling with only theory to back his assumptions but it was the best bet he had. "If I understand his power correctly, our life forces would be tied." He propped himself against the cement wall that separated each cell. "If one of us dies, we all die. If one of us is immortal, we're all immortal." "The protection policy," Cedric clarified. "Was me being nice."
  15. "I'll keep it brief," Cedric smirked. "I didn't sign up for this type of job, and I'm sure you're not fond of being caged here. There's an inmate down in Ward A, he bonds with people and can mimic their life force. With the right power, he can get us out of here. Keep me off your...lunch menu, and I'll inform him that you're willing to help. Or at least, willing to not interfere."
  16. The hate could be felt through the words, passing through Cedric as if he was transparent. Quickly, he looked up and down the hallways, void of life other than the captives and himself. "What if," he started, leaning slightly towards the vampire. "I could make you a deal of sorts..."
  17. Cedric cringed, wondering how the stranger knew his name yet he knew nothing of him. It was an odd predicament given the positions. "Just taking notes of you captives. Learning what I can, questioning what I can't, that sort of thing. Don't suppose you want to tell me all the things you're capable of, would you?"
  18. Cedric looked up from the clipboard, greeted by snake-like eyes. The glare of death penetrated the orderly from the cell, tearing into his soul. Hesitantly, Cedric flipped through the pages he held, scanning each word slowly. "Mortal..." he muttered, unable to find anything of value. "In this place, that's pretty much what we all are. So what makes you so special?"
  19. (( Realized the way I made Finch's powers and his first bond being the orderly, I kinda roped myself into doubling for now...Oh well. I Shall name him Cedric! )) Escorting his companion back to his cell, Cedric's eyes focused on the clipboard in hand. Faded ink detailed the tasks of each orderly and their corresponding inmates, void of any useful information for him to abuse. The only thing that stood out were the numbers alongside each inmate's name which vaguely gauged their threat levels. Under the Ward C section, the numbers stood drastically higher from the other wards. "Why so focused on the paper?" Finch asked as they arrived at his cell. "I'm not a fan of this place much either," Cedric replied, fumbling with the keys. "So the stronger you become, the more protected I'll be, right?" "Exactly." Finch smirked, stepping into his room. Cedric left without a word, sighing as he scratched at the back of his black, faded hair. An ominous wave shot up his spine as he made his way to the stairwell, climbing the flight in moments and arriving at the doors to the upper ward. With a hesitant breath, Cedric entered Ward C and began taking note of it's inhabitants. (( For all intents and purposes, Cedric is just kinda walking around and taking notes of everyone. Interact or not as you see fit. ))
  20. Ward A Nails stained a crimson red, Finch's hand slowly raked the flesh of his arm. Cuts and scars were sketched across every inch of skin, most old with past experiences. As blood seeped into the wooden table of the community room, the orderly assigned to escort him winced with pain from each motion. "Is this neccessary?" The orderly asked through gritted teeth. "Stop bitching," Finch hissed, slowing the pace of the gashing. "It hurts me as well. The parasite has to feed." "And if it doesn't?" He demanded. "It'll kill one of us...probably." The orderly stared at his arm, covered in lacerations of his own. His veins were dyed a jet-black, a result of the bond to his unusual ally, and with each moment they pulsed furiously. Finch sensed the fear in his eyes, feeling the resentment of agreeing to such an attachment and sighed. Reluctantly, he move his hand to his face, pushing aside scraggy blonde wisps of hair, reavealing saphire eyes that stung with bitter frost. "You chose this." Finch started. "We share life-forces, and I agreed to protect you. If you don't like it, then get me the hell out of here." Or even better, find me someone worth bonding with. As time ticked away from Finch's moments away from his cell, his mind raced with ideas of obtaining new power. The orderly sat quietly, doing his best not to draw attention. (( I'll do my best to add as I can. Hopefully I won't be the only guy chilling down in Ward A... ))
  21. Well if you want some things spoiled for you, Serra (Ice Gym Leader) runs a hail team and not getting rid of hail makes the fight harder. Mostly because half her team runs Snow Veil so you can't hit them half the time. Though I managed with Swampert, Infernape, Leavanny, Gardevoir, Luxray, and Aggron. So your results may vary. Magnemite can be caught at the Abandoned Power Plant (Shade's Gym), level Magneton there to get it to Magnezone Dwebble can be found by Rock-Smashing rocks at the beach before the Fighting Academy (Kiki's Gym).
  22. From a non min/max view, I don't see any real problems. Though without Drought on Vulpix, you may have some troubles in the future. As for your 6th slot, Magneton/Magnezone would work wonders and add to your type coverage. Or a Crustle, though I'm all kinds of biased towards that beautiful Stealth Rock/Spike leading machine. That's all I can really say as I feel Reborn should be played through trial and error, though some might not agree with that.
  23. Trying to decide on my final poke to complete my team. Currently the plan is: Swampert - Bulky, physical tank Gardevoir - Psuedo special tank / sweeper MIsmagius - Fast utility (Destiny Bond / Pain Split / Confuse Ray) Luxray - Physical sweeper Ninetales - Nasty plot sweeper Now I'm looking for a fast, physical sweeper, as Luxray is not the fastest of creatures. Considering I have Ninetales, sun will be up, making chlorophyll look very good. Leavanny - Higher base attack / defenses, poor offensive coverage (Bug and Grass is really all she gets), poor defensive typing (Bug / Grass T_T) obtainable somewhat early. Sawbuck - Higher base speed / health, doable offensive coverage (Bug, Grass, Fighting, Dark, Normal STAB), decent defensive typing (really just a Grass type weak to fighting and immune to Ghost) Leanng towards Leavanny, as she is obtainable alot earlier. Just wanted to hear the inputs of other players. Also open to other suggestions, such as Leafeon (turned down for poor offensive coverage), though please back it up with some info.
