  1. I'm sorry for the wait, but fixed. If that other person wants me to change their name, I can still do it.
  2. This sounds a lot like you giving me the go-ahead so if you guys want me to change your name you can send me/post your saves and I'll see what I can do for you.
  3. It's certainly possible. I could probably do it, but I dunno if sending saves to not Ame/Beba is okay.
  4. This tune rocks so hard. Here's hoping our wild goose chasing involves a nice long stroll in the deepest waters.
  5. ....wait, how did Victoria manage to get to the island? How did she get off of the island in the first place to get to the Grand Hall? ..and why did this thought not occur to me until you posted about it?
  6. Personally, I wasn't as fond of Zeta/Omicron as people are saying. The story .. is poorly written and later game grinding was kind of a nuisance, though the game is feature-loaded and well coded for the most part. FloraSky, Light Platinum, Liquid Crystal and AshGrey were all great from what I can remember. Pokemon My Ass Version is silly fun as well. I didn't like Pokemon Godra much at all.. Most of these others I've never heard of or played before.. Glazed? Ruby Destiny? Dark Rising? Seems like there's still a lot of them I haven't played.
  7. ...huh. The thought never occurred to me as I've never used it, but now that you mention it... edit: #SweetScent
  8. Well, even if you do reach it, there's no way to trigger the encounter due to how they're coded in RPG Maker and that there's only one patch of grass.
  9. Actually if level 16 or earlier, it'd have Dragon Rage as a starting move without needing to spend a Heart Scale for it. Additionally, as it's a 'start' move for Deino, every baby Deino (if not bred with too many egg moves) will have Dragon Rage as soon as it hatches.
  10. ...heh. I think this is mostly due to geography, in that we haven't gotten to a snowy/icy area within the game so ice type Pokemon aren't readily available yet. edit: missed a word
  11. Consider carrying an entry hazard like Stealth Rocks on your team: this gym's type is weak to bug, so it'll take a 25% off her Pokemon's HP (or half of Yanmega's HP, due to 4x rock weakness) whenever she sends them in. It should make sweeping her team significantly easier for you.
  12. ..sigh.. Personally, I feel that the term "op" has started to lose meaning as it gets tossed around more and more in threads like this. Gyarados is a fantastic Pokemon no doubt - it's been in smogon's Overused tier for 6 full generations now and for good reasons.. but many of those reasons never seem to be mentioned? All I see is "It gets Dragon Rage and then Dragon Dance and just enough physical moves to use Dragon Dance OP Ame pls ban." Gyarados has quite a few other characteristics worth mentioning - Water/Flying typing gains it a good amount of reliable resistances, such as key resists to Grass and Bug moves that are rather common early on, the various powerful Fighting moves from 5th generation, and a Ground immunity never hurts; 95/79/100 defenses give it solid special bulk and average/passable physical bulk (improves if you chose to use Intimidate); 125 attack is quality for a main attacking stat and 81 base speed is good enough that it outspeeds many threats at +1; Moxie allows it to keep growing power with successful KOs, further supplementing its sweeping and it -just barely- gets enough usable physical moves in its natural learnset to make use of its good attacking stats and great boosting move in Dragon Dance. Problems with Gyarados: First thing that comes to mind is with the lack of TMs in the game, especially on the physical side, Gyarados is really hurting for versatility. Granted, Aqua Tail is your best option for an attacking move in the majority of situations, but unless you plan on using Thrash, neither of your two coverage moves make it above 70 BP. In using Gyarados early on, you're stuck with Splash/Tackle/Bite/Dragon Rage, and later this moveset becomes Bite/Ice Fang/Aqua Tail/Dragon Dance meaning that early on you'll have lots of problems with Pokemon like Florinia's Cradily (if you don't have Intimidate, this thing's Smack Down is punishing and will 2hko or easier with boosts) or the PULSE Tangrowth's surprisingly amplified movepool and later on there'll be trouble in battles with Dr. Connal and Aster/Eclipse along with a few other Pokemon with electric type coverage. This is due to flaws in Gyarados's otherwise great typing: a 4x electric weakness in situations where an electric coverage move appears and the rock weakness leaves the Leviathan weak to Stealth Rocks, a problem you'll encounter in Shelly's gym and any later battle in which Ame decides to put something with the move in (as the AI really, really likes to use this move). Additionally, unlike many Pokemon that are available to you, you cannot improve on Gyarados' moveset via breeding as it learns no moves whatsoever due to Magikarp. Speaking of Magikarp, dealing with this hindrance for 20 levels is a huge nuisance as until it reaches its Gyarados stage as until then its not even usable other than for death fodder. In my opinion, having a useless Pokemon for 20 levels that you need to sink 5500$ into early on to even acquire that is almost isn't worth doing early (raising water types against electric and grass as the first two gyms? I guess at least in the grass gym you can Dragon Rage your way to victory.. but then the problem is Dragon Rage as you could do the same thing even easier just by choosing to start with Charmander) and then you still need a few more levels until it becomes a real powerhouse on your team (power spikes at levels 23-Dragon Rage, 35-Aqua Tail, 43-Dragon Dance). For me, if he was really OP/brokenly powerful it would mean that you cannot win without using him, and while that might have even been the case in earlier versions of the game where Florinia was a menace and there was a far more limited distribution of 'mon, times are different now and there's tons of Pokemon available throughout the game. I think it's time some .. Rebornians? stepped up and we had some threads about innovation in our ingame teams to better represent the competitive community that Reborn is... which leads me to... ... this part. Now while I'm fond of Ame and will usually stand by things that she says without questioning them, I think this point is significantly debatable. I think it's more likely borne from many of the "looking for tips on my team threads" being filled with "just use Gyarados" responses instead of lots of real discussion happening. Whether that's due to laziness or lack of creative input or something else entirely I can't say, but there's definitely plenty of other viable (or at the very least usable) Pokemon available in Reborn that fall under the water, psychic or fairy types. I'm still writing up more comprehensive analyses for these as I was planning on making a sort of Reborn guide, but after Dashie posted his Reborn guide it seemed redundant to post my own analyses. For the sake of discussion, here are a few starting points as I finish longer writeups so I can get this post posted: Azumarill (Water/Fairy) > Obtained: Evolve Marill > Marill is obtained by evolving Azurill, which can be found in a Jasper Ward event > Initial Assessment: 4/5, a viable physical powerhouse > Brief Analysis: Like other comments in this thread, I definitely agree that Huge Power Azumarill is a force to be reckoned with. Solid 100/80/80 defenses, priority in Aqua Jet to get past its otherwise poor speed stat, a fantastic new typing and move in the Fairy-type and Play Rough, great physical moves available to it including Defense Curl/Rollout combo and Superpower -- this Pokemon is definitely worth seeking out as it has great potential to serve you well. It also has access to Belly Drum and a few other neat moves, so check it out. Slurpuff (Fairy) > Obtained: Evolve Swirlix via a Linkstone > Swirlix obtained as a gift via the Obsidian Ward Candy Shop tile puzzle > Initial Assessment: Untested > Brief Analysis: I'm not really sure about most Fairy-types to be honest as I'm still getting used to them, but I've seen a potential Slurpuff set floating around on competitive forums that could be worth looking into. The concept of the set is an Unburden Belly Drum Slurpuff set -- you have a Sitrus Berry holding Slurpuff use Belly Drum then eat the Sitrus Berry to both return to 75% HP AND activate Unburden. It's the only Pokemon with this move-ability combination, and it seems like it could be interesting to try out, but the drawbacks are that Slurpuff has average stats overall and its only viable non Play Rough physical moves are Return and Thief... which aren't exactly great moves. Its a plausibly decent set though, so maybe one of you can try it out? Simipour (Water) > Obtained: Evolve Panpour with a Water Stone > Panpour obtained in Opal Bridge or West Peridot events, Adventurine Forest > Initial Assessment: 2.5/5, potentially usable > Brief Analysis: I'm not sure if you can breed Nasty Plot onto this Pokemon still, but if you can then this Pokemon may be worth more than it seems at first glance. It actually has reasonably decent attacking stats with 98/98 and a 101 base speed stat. The biggest downside to using it lies in a somewhat lackluster learnset for a mixed attacker, with Crunch being the best physical move available to it and Scald and Grass Knot for special attacks currently available. It's ability Gluttony doesn't help out very much as it affects a limited array of berries, most of which we don't have access to yet. It could be a usable Pokemon with some minimal investment, but without Nasty Plot I'm not sure it'd be worth your while.. Honorable mentions as I continue to write more of these: Swampert, Empoleon, Quagsire, Clefable, Swanna, Mr. Mime.. and the list goes on. I'm almost completely certain that if he were around to see me post something like this and not mention Eevee and his 3 respective evolutions of those types, Khayoz would get all mad at me. (Props to him, the true pioneer of the Pickup Army strategy) Thus, rated in respect to other eeveelutions: Vaporeon (Water) > Obtained: Use a Water Stone to evolve Eevee > Initial Assessment: 4/5, excellent addition to your roster > Brief Analysis: With the fattest hp stat of all the eeveelutions, Vaporeon (alongside Espeon and Jolteon) is one of the premier evolutions for your Eevee. It has fantastic special bulk, a strong Special Attack stat and a deep movepool to make good use of these two. Vaporeon is the best user of Wish among the eeveelutions due to stellar hp, and can be played in a support role via excellent support movepool, a bulky attacker role through maxing its huge hp and great special attack, or try for a mixed wall set with acid armor boosts and healing through leftovers and aqua ring. Water Absorb gives it opportunities to switch in on any water move, and Hydration can keep it clear of status in the rain. Vaporeon is the only eeveelution able to Baton Pass Aqua Ring and it can also carry Haze to clear enemy boosts. Vaporeon can be a solid asset to your team with great base stats through use of the many support moves it has access to. Espeon (Psychic) > Obtained: Evolve Eevee by friendship during the day > Initial Assessment: 4/5, excellent addition to your roster > Brief Analysis: With the highest 3 base stats in Special Attack, Speed and Special Defense in respective order of magnitude, Espeon is an eeveelution with real potential to play the special sweeper role. Access to Magic Bounce allows Espeon and her team relative safety from many various status reducing and entry hazard sort of moves, and Synchronize can allow for you to more easily acquire similarly natured Pokemon outside of battle, making it good when adding more members to your roster, and 'shares' statuses while in battle, allowing you to punish your opponents for using status moves. Psychic and Shadow Ball make good use of her attacking stats and like all eeveelutions, Espeon has a access to a solid pool of support moves. Be mindful of her less-than stellar base hp and poor physical bulk and you should be able to make excellent use of this Psychic eeveelution. Sylveon (Fairy) > Obtained: Evolve Eevee by friendship while knowing a Fairy-type move > Initial Assessment: 3.5/5, solid support-role Pokemon > Brief Analysis: Sylveon's highest base stat is in her Special Defense, and with her next two highest stats in Special Attack and HP, she can be used as a special attacking Fairy-type, but usually is best suited to a more supportive role. The Cute Charm ability allows her to infatuate Pokemon that cause contact, which can be used if one is mindful of Sylveon's middling physical bulk. On the other hand, the hidden ability, Pixilate, allows for use of Normal-type special moves with a boost in power and turning them to stab moves, which helps in leveling by powering up moves like Swift. Sylveon can't make as much use of this ability as Mega Gardevoir does, but it does help nonetheless. Through available moves like Light Screen, Misty Terrain, and a decent sized Wish, Sylveon can effectively play the support role and defend herself with powerful Moonblasts or Shadow Balls. Here's one neat move combination: boosting sweeper giving your team trouble? You could try using Psych Up into Baton Pass and see if you can get away with it! I'm going to keep developing analyses for the other available Pokemon, to try to expand on what I have here and generally improve my assessments. For now though, here's a few brief assessments to get some discussion going. I don't think I'm ready to say Gardevoir/Gyarados are OP as I haven't used Gardevoir since my first run (training Ralts/Kirlia is a pain imo) and I have had successful playthroughs without any use of Gyarados.
  13. Would you mind linking me the interview? Maybe I can finally discover what the metaphorical cinnamon swirls in every bite are. I was sort of heavily implying this with the whole "Big Top" thing, but I guess I should've explicitly said that. Didn't recall if the circus had a specific name or not though, so thanks for clearing that up at least. I'm just noting that since Ame likes to add field effects that are relevant to upcoming big gym battles, I expected to face him rather soon on that basis. Nah, I'm fairly certain this is just Ame's way of trying to even out the playing field/give the player a way to combat the advantage she gives to the opponent. Or I could be completely wrong and we're all going to be swept by Unburden Flying Gem Acrobatics Hawlucha in a spectacular fashion.
  14. I don't mind if you're intentionally vague about her for some plot-spoiler reason, but can you at least tell me why Terra is your/everyone's favorite leader? If you haven't even met her and she's your favorite already that's ... odd. Or is this some sort of "adults-can't-see-why-kids-love-cinnamon-toast-crunch" scenario? grammar nitpick: you have 8 ellipses in your two statements and they've become incredibly common in your recent posts. surely you can reform your sentence structure to not overuse or abuse this form of punctuation? Now if you'll excuse me, I have a rant-y post to get back to writing in a vaguely upset manner.
  15. I have yet to understand why Terra is everyone's favorite leader, but as far as leaders we'll see or face in e12, I suspect that it'll be one or more of the following: 1 - Hardy > Hardy lives in Agate City, as he mentioned during our first run in with him while we were fighting Aya. There's been nothing specific of note that points to us fighting this Rock leader, but since he claimed residence in the area I suspect we'll at least see him, though I don't know if he has a gym in this town or not. 2 - Samson > This is a little bit of speculation on my part, but in Ame's April Fools Day patch notes for E12 I noted this snippet of information: Now there are a lot of scary looking things in this spoiler, but there's a couple important things to take note of. First is that all Fighting type moves gain power and Pokemon with Sheer Force and Guts always get maximum power moves. Samson's signature Pokemon (as seen here in the leader lineup) is Conkeldurr -- a Fighting type Pokemon with access to both Sheer Force AND Guts as potential abilities. If you were here during the History Quiz era of the game, you may also remember that Samson joined the league because ... (I'll edit this in later, I have it written down on my laptop but I can't seem to recall what the answer was offhand and I don't see the answer in some of the quiz's guides. I'll just note that a decent amount of information was given to us from that little quiz: things like the fact that ) 3 - Terra > This is even more speculative than the previous one, but if you check out the 'preview' at the end of chapter 11, you'll notice that there's Now, that sound could certainly be made by some Pokemonster, but I've got a hunch that it could just be Terra .. being Terra.
  16. Er.. there's quite a few Pokemon that learn Earthquake naturally, and Trapinch learns it a bit later than some others. The Pokemon I've got with EQ right now is Diggersby, but there's also the Tyrunt, Drilbur, Swinub, Numel, Mudkip, Geodude, Diglett and Sandshrew evo lines. Drilbur is one of the earliest, at level 33. I forget if Sandile and Wooper are available, but both of them learn it naturally too. Misread the question, yes that's the only way for Flygon to have EQ right now. I'd get EQ, Crunch, Rock Slide, Dragon Claw for the moveset, but maybe that's me.
  17. All these coverage move options are well and good, but why don't you even have a slashed option for Play Rough? A 90 BP Physical stab Fairy type move is a _huge_ boon to Azumarill's move pool and is definitely worth at least /mentioning/.
  18. I don't think I've ever done that cave /with/ flash.. I even remember to get it I just don't use it.
  19. Curious to know how this ended up. As a veteran DM of a few different systems, I'd suggest starting with premade adventures for new(er) players and DMs alike.
  20. Another thing that might help you, especially with Corey's Crobat and a few later battles, is to pick up a Pokemon that knows Stealth Rocks - an entry hazard that does rock type damage to opponent's Pokemon when they switch in. Since Crobat is weak to rock, it'll take 25% hp off of it when it gets switched in. Your best bet for rocks this early would likely be the Onix in Lower Peridot ward. There's a Hiker who can't make it back to his home after the train station was destroyed, so see if you can help him find a new place to live.
  21. Oh, this is a cool thread. I've had plenty of strange dreams before but they have a tendency to fade before I try to write them down. I do remember one in particular I wrote down once while on vacation.. Lemme see if I can find it and I'll edit it in when I do. Edit: Found it! INC WALL OF TEXT Taken straight from a "dream journal" of sorts: The dream begins with some kind of narration as we look over images of animals and humans and animalistic humans in warriors gear from a fantasy setting, like something out of dungeons and dragons. The images come from a sort of picture book, and under each image is something like a class name. One example had the word chief with a cat-human creature in the image, holding some sort of katana. The cat creature had what appeared to be a Chinese inspired mustache and beard. The narration spoke of some age old war and how something about it would be settled today. There was then a flash of light and we moved on to the next section of the 'movie'. I am now seeing through the eyes of an older war veteran sounding man with a thick Russian accent. There is a beautiful woman wearing a fancy party dress, one that's short (about knee length or a bit less), and fancy heels on my right arm. We appear to be in a fancy living room of some kind, the floor is a fancy white carpet and there are a few red velvet sofas within that people are already resting on, presumably people I know somehow and this house belongs to me. There is light music playing in the background, like that of the scene in the jet li video game at the club - there is distinct piano sounds, it has a bit of blues in it but there doesn't appear to be any other instruments. As for the people on the couches, on my left my apparent friend is lying down on his back with his head on an arm rest on the right side. There is a giddy nude man (gay?) on top of him and another, more scantily clad beautiful woman with what looks to be a gun, which is in my friend's mouth. The nude man is exclaiming that the woman (I suspect as some kind of paid entertainment as he referred to her as part of a group) is great, much better than him at being some form of entertainment. "oh man you guys are great" This was followed by the sound of a champagne bottle popping off the top and the giddy nude man jumps up and down, saying something to the effect of "oh man a fake gun that's great" he then laughs in a way that reminds me of a hyena, a giddy laugh with a lot of hoos and hahs. My sight then pans over to the right where another friend of mine is lying down on another couch in a similar fashion to the first. There may or may not have been a second man on this couch (fully clothed and relaxed, mind you) seated on the far left side of the couch. This couch is covered with more of the beautiful women wearing similar attire to the one on my arm in various colors. It is worth noting that I appear to recognize the non-giddy men more so than the women, so I suspect the women to be either hired or party guests of some sort. The two men are surrounded by women; there are at least half a dozen on the man on the right side and only a couple on the left. The man on the left is silent but the one on the right appears to be sweet talking or using pick up artist techniques and all of the girls on the right are responding to it, giggling slightly and being infatuated with him. Even the people on the left side are looking in his direction, though they don't appear to be doing much more then smiling. The 'movie' now pans over to the Russian war general guy (the aforementioned scene was through the eyes of the Russian, this next part just appears to return to the Russian noting what I was doing as the above happened) the Russian is messing with some old wooden device, preparing for someone's arrival. From my tone of voice this appears to be someone I know, like an old friend whom I have some kind of little competition with. I tell the woman on my arm that I'm making this as I wait for someone and just as I finish, a doorbell rings and she asks "is that him" I tell her that it is an we begin to walk away from the couches in the room, towards some door. I pick up what I was working on before we moved, which appears to be some sort of mini round container with parts liquid and solid inside. The solid parts are little silver colored balls and I don't know anything about the liquid, I just seem to know that there's some in there. There is a second piece with nothing inside that when placed next to the first, turns the circle into a kind of D-shape. I motion for the woman to leave, and I presume she leaves off to the right as she just kind of disappears at this point. My Russian war vet self moves on into the next room, where my friend is waiting. He has the appearance of a war vet also. He has matted grey hair that makes me think it's unwashed. It's all wavy and slicked down in the back. He has 'crazy eyes' and a weird look in his smile, as if there were teeth missing due to rotting or he didn't take good care of them and now they're all fake. Between us is a sort of table with his side having a glass sphere that looks like a marble and mine with another odd wooden device that has a slot for the thing I made and a gun attached to it. The room we're in is like an 'entrance hall' kind of room, and it makes me think of an apartment room. He seems to acknowledge my being there and after a mutual unspoken countdown I place my d-shaped thing inside the slot and fire the gun, which manages to punch a small hole through the marble, but doesn't seem to faze/injure the other man, who has been grinning since I walked in. I seem to be confused and a bit shocked at this result for a second, after which I exclaim, "oohhh, the whole ROOM is a wicker basket" (I don't have the slightest IDEA what this is supposed to mean, now that I'm awake, although the next bit makes me think it's some sort of drug slang) The other man turns his grin into a sly smile, saying "yep (yes?) , this will only take a second." I get the sensation that I'm falling backwards and then everything turns yellow. When I open my eyes again I'm looking into that same sly smile as before, although now I feel like I'm under the influence of some kind of drug, albeit in a cartoonish or video game fashion. The edges of my vision is sometimes blurred and others wavy and I get the feeling that sometimes I can see clearly and normally and others this drug is like some kind of film over my eyes, allowing me to see things that I normally couldn't. I can't tell if I'm in the same room as before, yet I don't seem startled by this. It doesn't seem like much time has passed since I yellowed out, but there's no way for me to know (not that this appears to startle me either). I seem to recognize this room as well, not that I know where it is or if it's even a part of the place I was in previously. The only piece of furniture in this room I notice is a dresser, which I walk over towards. The old friend of mine is at my right side. This next part freaked me out a little bit so bear with me here. (Not the Russian me, he seemed unfazed and intrigued at what comes next.) This part seems to separate him and me in that I get that I'm seeing through his eyes and he isn't me) there are many pictures on the dresser (more than look like could possibly fit on it), none of which the Russian me seems to recognize. There are plenty of pictures I don't recognize either, but then there are pictures of me and my sister and one of my younger cousins (some of which were in the room I was originally sleeping in, not sure if that makes any difference) the only other picture I seem to recall was that of an old woman. The old friend of mine then begins to tell me about the pictures. As I look over the pictures he begins to tell me about how 'they' changed the pictures and how 'they' do it in a specific way. He seems to be talking about some kinds of hellish demons, although he never says this clearly and I'm not sure how Russian me knows this but from the way old war vet friend is explaining it, I get the impression that this isn't the first time they've discussed this. Russian me seems very interested in all of this; he is silent as if deep in thought as he listens to old war friend. As for the pictures, they seem look normal at first, but as a result of the weird drug changing my vision with a slight yellowish hue, the pictures change too. First the picture of the old lady seems like just a harmless image, and then it changes. Her eyes bug out slightly and are looking in different directions, her nose flattens and her formerly nice smiling mouth now had an orcish looking tusk sticking out of either side of it. In the split second that it changed a loud girl's scream was heard. It seemed to emanate from the picture itself and seemed like the scream from one of the various screamer images/videos on the Internet. Russian me was unfazed by this change; he seemed to be further interested in it. Regular me on the other hand was scared shitless by it (to be fair, I don't know how to quantify how I was feeling things that Russian me wasn't. It wasn't like I was watching a movie though. More like I was inside of one or I was sort of experiencing one) old war friend mentioned something about how they did this and something about torture and suffering. Russian me seemed to understand this as this pictures changes was a quantified version of the hellish torture this old lady was receiving though neither of us knew why or how it happened/was happening. Russian me then looked at a picture of my younger cousin. When this picture changed, however, there was no scream. In a similar fashion to that of the other, the only affected part was that of the person inside the image. The person appeared to be burnt/charred with the exception of a few almost random parts of the body and the eyes, nose and mouth. Old war friend noted that they had done this and that they had some special reason for doing so. Russian me and I got the impression that the person in the image wasn't being tortured/in hell but there was also something off about it. Russian me leaned in to get a closer look at it, and we felt like there was something looking out at us through the eyes. Of course, Russian me was unfazed by this, but I was most definitely phased. Russian me looked over at the other images of me and my sister and younger cousin, all of which looked normal one split second and then changed in a similar fashion to the second picture (the one of my younger cousin). We got the same feeling from all of them - that many somethings were looking out back at us. Suddenly, the drug effects faded and old war vet friend began to remark about how quickly the effects wore off on me. Shortly afterward, the dream faded and I woke up. Note to self: no more pizza before bed. ..
  22. What breeding mechanism this game use? (X/Y? B/W? or older) > Currently the game uses 5th generation breeding mechanics. Does Everstone and Destiny Knot work in breeding and where can I find them? > Everstone can be found via the mining minigame, but I'm unsure about Destiny Knot. At the moment they aren't implemented in breeding as far as I'm aware. The everstone thing works, but Destiny Knot don't... Does Power Weight, Power Bracer, Power Belt, Power Lens, Power Band, and Power Anklet work in breeding? and where can I find them? > Similarly, the power items aren't implemented in regards to breeding and I'm unsure that they're even available. Or are there anyway to manipular pokemon's IV? > There are no IV manipulating methods in Pokemon Reborn, though there is a way to manipulate natures available. Also, I read that you can only obtain 1 ditto at the moment? > Yes, through either saving it from its cage in the West Peridot factory or purchasing it on 7th Street later in the game. And where exactly is the Day care? > The Daycare is in the South Obsidia Ward.
  23. Adding Cryogonal would give your team a glaring rock-type weakness (Cryogonal, Gyarados, Typhlosion, Yanmega [4x eep]), and while Khayoz's suggestion of Lucario is good, it would mean that you'd have a ground-type weakness in your team (Lucario, Typhlosion, Ampharos). My suggestion is to try out Marowak. It gives you something reliable to switch into rock moves due to solid defense and has decent attacking power if you put the time in to locating its item without giving you any more type weaknesses. Additionally, Marowak can have Iron Head bred onto it, and while it's flinching capability will likely not see use I'm sure you could benefit from non-ground-type attacking move. Other ideal moves are Double-Edge if you have Rock Head and Stone Edge later on when we get better TMs. It gets some neat tutor moves too, like Fire Punch. I'd say it's worth the investment to try it out on your team and see if you like it.
