  1. And now I have the powers of Ice Cream and Lightning... I'm unstoppable.
  2. Half Dog, Half Spider.... Probably still the evil RP Master of Darkness though. Typing would be a hell of a lot harder though... probably.
  3. Well, it's really what she'd do to be honest, while she knows the city she's not as familiar with the people in the area since she often tries to avoid them ((unless killing them obviously.)) So, she's going to go with a Sure source of info even if it has little information over a huge crap shoot where she could easily get nothing. Some information is better than zero information.
  4. I need to get around to reading Fate/Apocrypha Outta 10... ((I'll give it a niiiiice 7/10 though... mostly cause I have a feeling I won't like that character much XD, however, There's not a Fate design I really hate for a character.))
  5. So... still the same character just different avvie. Hpefully this one less confusing to people ((I ahve a feeling it still will be though XD>))

    1. Flux

      Flux

Well, the eyes seem more natural in this one. Maybe it's because I actually know the character now, but I think this one's a bit better.

    2. Raindrop Valkyrie

      Raindrop Valkyrie

It uses the space better and makes a bit more sense structurally lol. I still leik the one before this one a lot but when it gets smaller it definitely looks weirder lol. THis one looks alright small so it's better i that way... and it's alos still really pretty and awesome lol.

    3. Raindrop Valkyrie

      Raindrop Valkyrie

That and I like this character probably mroe than I should, but Albedo's freaking awesome so... eh...

  6. The Crimson Keep "If you're going to be this reckless I will be too." The Crimson Knight thought to himself as the Half-Orc approached. Ice surrounded the man but it clearly wasn't on a trajectory that would hit him, Neville would have to hit Varick to hit him so there was no way that was their purpose. Crimson sighed, this was the first time in a while where they made him do something risky rather than stick with his traditional strategy. He felt himself having to adapt. It was the most fun he had in awhile this mortals were interesting. The Crimson Knight Spread his arms out almost as if he was preparing to hug Varick as he charged towards him, and in the last second before impact, his entire frame erupted with crimson flames. The Flames lashed out all over Varick as he collided with the Crimson Knight, the flames hot than anything he had known some even leaking into his armour. The smell of burning flesh rose in the air. Gradun looked on in stunned horror as this happened. "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!" "Why did you do that you fool?" His playing suddenly began again strings of his lute playing a soft song. This one, unfitting of a Battle. It was sad and yet filled with some sort of hope. It hit the hearts of thsoe that heard it and made them beat along with it. Unlike the vigor bestowed by his previous song this one made one's fear wash away and they could feel the energy return to their limbs. Life itself seemed to come back to them, healing power. Even Gradun seemed to greatly recover from his exhaustion. Somehow even though he played so intently, with so much attention and care, his face grew all the more serene; Peaceful. Varick felt it, Neville felt it. A piece of Gradun's own soul. A Song of Mercy and Healing.
  7. Vixen sighed loudly. "I always hate this part. This beast is known for it's flight so tracking it without some sort of magical means is exceedingly difficult. Though it also exceedingly fast. This makes tracking it via Magic also hard, which means I don't have much of a chance on my own. I'm good at tracking people, Hunters, Protectors, Peacekeepers and their ilk, and even most grounded beasts. However, Flying ones tend to elude me." She slammed her fist into the chair she was sitting on earlier. She had been pacing wildly around the room. Her boots smacking against the hard floor ringing in the relative hollowness of the building. She did this as she cycled her thoughts and realigned them. She was probably going to need help and she didn't like that idea. But, too many lives were at stake for her to try and do this on her own. She had told those Protectors she'd work with them earlier but she had no idea where they were now. "I'm going to have to do something to call attention to myself, get people looking in my direction. I don't have time to really go seeking." She grabbed her gear and got moving, either way she couldn't stay here... or could she? After all the man did say he was gathering people to meet here. Other Mediators. Perhaps they would know more about this Beast than he would. Or it'd be a great waste of time and they'd only tell her what she already knew and keep on about their Terrasque problem. However, it was a sure thing... she knew they'd come. Perhaps even a local Mediator would be drawn one that knew something more or if not who to point her too, those who were also hunting this creature. She decided to wait here for now, She moved the chair over towards the slightly rotted desk near the back wall. She sat down again and placed her feet on top of the desk while leaning back in the chair closing her eyes. And for now she waited. It was better than wondering around for now and attracted unwanted attention. She didn't have enough information on this area to be wondering it or trying to call attention when she had no idea what was here. Rather than take a crazy risk, she'd spend a bit more time gathering information. Information was power. She'd get as much as she could before heading off into unknown territory.
  8. Eh, I just feel it's like that sometimes lol. I kinda don't think I'll all that deserving of the respect and admiration I seem to have around here sometimes. But, that probably cause I know my own faults etc... and I certainly don't want people to put more weight into the words I say because it's me saying them lol. I think that's what I mean lol.
  9. I'm sorry... but I gotta psot this stuff. ((also I think it's okay since it's been almost a week since the last post and I want to put something here for fun.)) WARNING: Silly Deck incoming. This is probably not something you'd ladder with because it's kinda just not a sane idea, but it's a fun one. I really don't recommend using this deck seriously because it asks waaaaay to much of you and it's gameplan is way too hard to truly pull off half the time.... And Majordomo is bad mmkay? Now, if you want the outlandish chance to shoot thousands of fireballs down upon your sad sad foe... by all means go for it lol. The first game had me laughing so hard towards the end and the build up was worth it, oooooh so worth it lol. But basically this Deck uses the typical projected Colderra/Maiden of the Lake combo but by using Majordomo to turn into Ragnaros to sling up to ten 8 damage Fire Balls in one turn. The rest is pretty standard Freeze Mage to stall until you get get this stuuuuuuuuuuuuupid combo online. Welcome to the most outlandish gameplan probably ever designed. So, it's fun and silly, but heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeella not practical.
  10. More experience doesn't make me anymore right, or you anymore wrong lol. While experience is a good thing to have it doesn't make me infallible or more correct then you. After all to some degree RPs are a subjective format and every one is looking for different experiences players and hosts alike. I will advise from my point of view however it subjective lol there's no right and no wrong specifically just things and points of view that are different. I may be the Mod here for this forum etc... but you guys aren't beholden to me or the things I say lol. I'm just trying to help out in the way I see things. Is my way always right? Hell no. My experience gives me a lot of insight but it also means I'm set in the things I do sometimes lol, There's particular things I very much prefer in an RP over other things, so I might goes towards something I am more comfortable with and miss out on a choice that would have been more interesting and in the long run better for an RP. I'm just saying, don't treat my words as if they have special weight or are like law. I'm just trying to help out, my experience doesn't make them any more important then those of others, nor am I always right about things. I'd ask that you guys remember I'm human too I make mistakes and say things that I think are for the best. I may not always be 100% correct for ever situation. I can only advise from my point of view... that might not be right for every project I comment on.
  11. That's cause they are really just self-gratification machines and aren't in there for any other purpose then "OMG, I SO AWESOME LOOK AT ME" factor. They quickly just become issue since they are super prone to favoritism ((which I didn't touch on and probably should have a bit.)) and you jsut can;t trust yourself to give them proper treatment. One second it's them being a gym leader, the next it's them saving the day at a crucial point then they become god-king of the universe. It only snowballs exponentially. As a writer you have waaaaaaaaaaay too much of a bias towards that character because you start to attach personal stuff do them etc... and it quickly gets out of hand. It's just suuuuuuuuper bad form. Don't bloody do it. Ever. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeever. I'm not joking at all. Don't do it. Because you cannot trust yourself at all when that is the case. And if you can't trust yourself to write the plot who else will? ((and don't get cheeky and say another writer... if they know you they are also biased...and they have to know you to work on the project, because you'd ahve to explain the plot up to that point.)) Just... don't do it kids. It may be tempting, but it's not and never is worth it.
  12. Man... I wanna post something silly I've seen today in the Hearthstone thread... but I'm the last pooooooost. Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh... XD

      Raindrop Valkyrie

I'm going to have to brain wash more people into playing Hearthstone.... aren't I?

    2. Flux

      Flux

Just do itttt... If it's relevant I don't think it matters.

  13. I guess I should expand upon some of those things there Commander. This is a very true point and one that has a lot of validity, however keep this things in mind. False Choice isn't really involvement. If there's a choice that seems like it does something but ends up doing nothing in the ultimate end of things... even if a little bit ((like sometimes like extra dialog.)) It's not really a choice. Side Quests. This are definitely something that will add to the game if they are meaningful ((you know, not something like go collect 10 Pikachu asses then get back here.)). Because they are side stories the Player can choose to go one without them but miss a bit of story or maybe a neat little reward. These are also fun little ways to expand on Major Characters. Think of the New Mauville side-quest you get from Wattson in the main series, while it's not the best example it certainly gave you another way to interact with a main character but was never anything you had to do to complete the story. ((The More End Game missions are probably better examples but this is a side quest that I remember taking place during the Main Story line which is rather uncommon in Pokemon Main series for some reason.)). Not only this but they allow you to expand on the world a little or show off maybe an aspect of a Pokemon that might not be gotten from battle. Like maybe the players learns of a legend about that Pokemon, or maybe they learn why a Pokemon is so important to a Village. etc... Key point here, It's good to have an idea of what's doable and to keep in scope one thing this is a game. There will be a player playing it, and no matter how much you craft your story etc... there's always going to be a player on the other end. They can just click through your text. ((this is a perfect example of why not to tell directions in dialog that can't be reviewed because some Players may never see it.)). I'm going to add a couple caveats here. Not every character in a story MUST be important. Clearly there will be mooks and people that are secondary actors. Basically this typically end up being the random trainers and the throw away grunts of the bad guys etc etc... However this can be true of others characters as well. They don't need to be integral or really push the plot that hard. If you try to make every gym Leader super important you going to make a suuuuuper huge mess. The more characters pushing a plot the more complicated and messy it gets. They should be important on the basis of what they need to do, The Protagonist is usually played by the player so the most important person on that side is easily taken care of. The Antagonist drives the plot even from the shadows, this will be our big bad. They should receive the most attention and it goes down there from importance etc... Making everyone have a bunch of moments is going to get sloppy. Don't let them overstay their welcome. ((especially characters with stranger quirks... they get annoying super fast and are not cute at all... I don't care how much you like them...Not going to name any characters here...)) However, I will add to avoid throwing in random characters that just appear... it's super weird and you shouldn't do it. They should have some reason to be there even if small like a Trainer battle. An alternative is trying to do a reference that will stand on it's own even if it isn't understood. Of course this is suuuuuuuper tricky to do but it is possible. But use them with caution, too much of them get really strange and... even cheesy. Also, avoid using self-Inserts for anything but suuuuuuuuuper side things or little easter eggs. NEVER give them plot relevance. Besides the fact that it's a bit of a writing sin... ((full on inserts really. Most characters have a little of the writer or people they know distilled into them.)), trust me it's just not a good idea to have anyone fully based on you, one of your friends, or someone in the project as an explicit character in the plot. Things like the Gamefreak Building in some of the Main Series Games are okay, those do no harm since they are little out of the way Easter eggs.
  14. Man... if only I actually had a way to paly those games and actually get hype... I don't so.... watching an anime about it would be weird for me imo XD>
  15. I'd agree entirely and that's exactly what I was saying and I meant lol. I'm one of the most open minded people when it comes to the RPs I write and thing within Graterras actually exist because a few players ended up making them exist. It why magic eventually worked the way it did ((since a player I knew once in irl for DUngeons and Dragons made a Sorcerer who interacted with the Elements as if they were spirits. I loved the idea and it gave Graterras it's own unique in a lot of ways magic since it's based on diplomacy with the spirits of Elements.)). I'm a firm believer of play should contextualize and drive interactions in some situations. Heck I only know how a lot of things in Graterras work because my players showed me how they work, I only ever learned half the NPC personalities because they were forced into strange situations I couldn't predict. That forced me to learn the depth of how they interact. Players are an agent of chaos, and in their chaos they do super interesting shit. In thier ploy to make sense of the world lain before them... they make it infinitely more intersting. As a Host, writing by yourself and filling out the entire world... is the incorrect course of action. You write with your players that's why they are there as well. They want to have fun and shape the world around them. Letting them while guiding them is the best way to let things happen. I'm going to echo a few things the other are saying here as well -Limit your Kingdom numbers. 3 interesting Kingdoms are better than 6 ones that thin on numbers and being spread out. With less it's easier to focus on making each interesting without spreading everyone way too thin. You got limited resources and can;t afford to spread out your player base that much. -Limit the amount of Player Characters to two. This is for the same reason as above. Players were spreading themselves very very thin and it was making them write less detailed and frankly less quality characters. As a host that writes some very linear-ish RP at times I know how hard it can be to write multiple characters at once and have them all feel relevant or special in their own way. It's damn hard, and players usually aren't looking to run a crazy amount of characters. -On your third point... do NOT write any world history, let the players and any NPCs you have in those kingdoms come up with the history during play. This will be much more interesting and gives players not only a chance to feel like they are shaping the world but also take a huge weight of you as the host for doing everything. Maybe a few little things to start them off, or a few for your characters etc.. but don't go overboard. Preparing that stuff is kinda insane on your part and I can guarantee you won't get to all of it without doing something where you spout exposition at them for hours on end and no one likes that cause it's boring as hell. So, keep anything you do light and let them evolve with Play and organically rather than backload them with a bunch of stuff. It's not as interesting if they don't develop along with the characters. Think of the Kingdoms as sorta... Giant Characters that are made up of others. Of course, this is in my opinion after all. You don't have to listen to me at all if you don't want to lol. After all I'm jsut some old coot hollering about nonsense to some folks. Anyway in short you're the host here, and it's your call but I think that's some solid things to consider. anyway, once more Hukuna Sensei out~ Good luck.
  16. tfw a friend of yours insists on Calling you Mr. Wolf becuase of the new champion Kindred in League. ((due to my like of wolves and apparently that half of the character reminding her of me.)) Thanks Riot lol.

  17. I'm not really sure how to set out from there though... i don't really have much to go on really... but I dunno.
  18. TO be fair... I am a monster of ripping apart not only World Development, but character development, plot etc the list goes one. When I set my mind to it... I can easily tear things apart piece by piece. Things that are rough ideas etc... are even easier cause they are flimsy and it's easy to poke holes where they don't want you too. ((that and I'm a little weasel who's good at worming my way into them lol.)) So, you did get someone who demands quality by how efficiently he can tear something apart from the inside out. But yea, what Strat is saying is a very good course of action. I think a lot of people really did enjoy this RP while they were playing in it, but it was the clutter and confusion of the very unrefined nature of it that got people to lose interest. They didn't know what exactly was happening and a lot of things were just messy. I'd rather not get called in to mediate again, so, make damn sure you got your stuff together this time alright lol? I love to see new hosts, but you gotta remember the players need to be having fun too. If you do start this up again it's best to jsut make a new thread or start over imo... since it'll just be mad confusing starting where it was after so long. Getting back all those players would be tough so it'd probably be good to start fresh with the revival. ((espicially if you have revamped it any or are going to. That way it'll be a fresh new start as well.)) Anyway, good luck and all that. Hukuna-Sensei out~
  19. Yea guys this isn't my version of Graterras. ((Which is literally a bunch of Island Nations. Boating is bloody important in my world.)). This isn't a Hoenn... there's not that much water.
  20. Vixen ((Archer)) "Kid, keep your head. I don't feel a servant, at least not yet. We have no idea if this mage would be our enemy and not just so random mage. So keep your composure. This is a battle, not a game. Making hasty decisions is not a good idea. Keep that in mind." The blue-haired woman lectured. Though no particular emotion was in her voice, just a vast uncaring coldness like always. "Get properly dressed, we can't afford to stick out. Luckily, I can conceal my presence from other Servants. I might not be as good as an Assassin, but Stealth is almost as much my specialty as it is theirs. It would be good to have the information the Familiar could provide as well since we could better get a look at what we are dealing with here. To assess the threat, if it even is one, and other things along with it. Information is key, there will be no guess work. I'm just hoping it's not the master of the Servant I witnessed last night. That servant is one we will want to leave for one of the others to deal with rather than waste our own resources on."
  21. Oh no trust me I know that lol. I'm just saying that's why Dust didn't have that as an ability. ((he could technically have something or something very similar to it, but he wouldn't technically qualify. He's close... but he would have a desire for the grail.)) That and while it's basically true name discernment it doesn't actually give him their name, he just knows how their attack works exactly even only seeing it once, or what an item of great importance would do just seeing it. ((therefore technically leading him to their name but it' not truly being it anyway... just something similar.)) But that's why I wasn't sure what to put it as... cause it's kinda similarish... kinda. Perhaps just making a new skill called Noble Phantasm Discernment would be the way to go with it lol.
