[IC] TFW Chapter 2: Wrath

Anemone Okay then! l will be talking through the link now instead.... Over. the words popped into Wendy's mind, they felt fuzzy like the link, but they were clear enough to be understood. She'd have to go through the basics with Wendy most likely, but it was nothing she wasn't used to coaching people through, she'd done it on a few occasions. You can reply as well! Just feel for the link, reach through it into my mind, sorta like a tunnel or a passageway. Think the thought and send it on it's way. l guess, think of it more like two bodies of water that have a small channel between them. One is your mind, the other is mine. We can send things back and forth between that channel, message in a bottle style! lt's really cool isn't it? l should wait to have you confirm the connection in here but l'm sure it's working if you can feel the link... Over. Her work was only beginning though, while it was the work of the mind in part... dreams were something more. They were connected as well to an individual's soul in some sense. They were located in much harder to reach areas of the mind, the deeper ones. Where she was now, was the surface. The thoughts in the now, things that Wendy's mind was more in the moment occupied on. Anemone could read them, but the barrage would be extremely hard to process. lt'd be like straining a swarm of bees through your mind. ln other words, unpleasent. And that's without regards to content. Regardless they weren't what she was here for, so she shouldn't waste energy on them. Okay... so. This is important. l'm going to need you to relax and focus on nothing in particular. Thoughts or ideas that you are focusing on tend to resonate or pull. They will make it difficult to process through your mind and get into the deepest parts, the ones that touch your very soul. This, this is where your dreams are located. Dreams aren't... exactly thought. lt's hard to explain really, even l don't quite understand it all myself, but they are located deep deep in the mind. Any particular strong thoughts however, will pull me towards them. Strong active thoughts are the worst, so if you must focus on something only focus on the sound of my voice or, me! As my mind is connected to yours currently... thoughts of me won't interfere with my progression. Do you copy? Over. -
Chance found herself being delivered the unconscious body of that swordsman yet again. There must really be no hope for this one... But, he could still make himself useful. He could swing a sword, and worst comes to worse was another body to protect her. After all she couldn't really defend herself... well. She could but her entire collection of 72 knives was confiscated when she was first brought here. She sighed, reminsicing about all of those wonderful implements. Took her a moment, but she remembered she had a swordsman to heal. She walked over and tapped her Duster on the man's head. "Rise and shine lazybones~ You've still got work to do protecting little old me and these fine folks who cannot fight. So, up and at 'em! Fight fight fight!!! GO GO GO!!!" she chanted, trying to get him in the fighting spirit! Perhaps that would work. Boop Tekeshi with the Healyduster.

At his expert command a knife flies from Blake's hand striking down the horrid archer. lt but cackles hideously as it falls, they linger in the night air, a hollow echo as an empty robe crumples to the earth below. The battle yet rages on, actors on the stage of fate have yet to take flight. Player Phase continues. -
[IC] ANKL. Part I: Awakening

Kaede The thing that returned Kaede to reality was a soft impact into her shoulder. She opened her eyes to see one of the balls falling gently to the ground. The girl... the skittish one from before, from when she had met Eden... was the prepetrator. Her original target that Riley had intercepted the blow for. Kaede sighed, she have preferred to be able to elimnate the last girl as well to speed up this game, but she... guessed it'd be just as quick for one of the remaining girls to take her out or... for her to remove both of the others more than likely. The two left on her side had not moved an nich the whole game. She was suprised them were somehow still in, but it bothered her not. Winning that game wasn't iportant to her, it ending was. She walked over to Arturia, she might as well wait out the rest of the time with her friend. Besides, she was curious as to how she was feeling, as she was unaware if she was currently hurt or not. She didn't however say anything on her approach. lt appeared that Arturia was talking to some of the others on the sidelines. She was a bit weary, unsure how the others would act when she arrived but being near her friend as better than not doing so. She silently took her spot. -

Lyla uses the opportunity made by her brother to get in a blow. The being is ready this time, but Lyla is much faster on her toes than Lyle. The blow still connects, though nowhere near as deadly as it could've been. This being was proving quite the difficult stain to remove. He even laughed, a sinister cackle. He knew his time wasn't long for this world, but he was enough of a distraction that was all that mattered in the end. After all... all life crumbles to dust one day. -

Gavan tries again, this time not winded. The arrow hits with a resounding thwack into the foe, a rattling of metal somewhere hiding in those robes. Though the pain doesn't slow his movements, he once more summons that horrid bow, and nearly nicks Gavan's vitals on his next attack. Lyle rides in, fast, unseen by the wayward archer. He makes it past the line of fire and deals him a righteous blow. The armour caught most of it, but it was clear it still caused him harm. -

A dagger flashes through the night, catching the torchlight. lt finds intself into the gut of one of the robed figured with a resounding grunt of pain. lt is enough to bring them to the ground, but before they fall... their body disappears... and only empty robes fall to the earth. Coel moves to F8 and holds. The curtain is called on the Actors of Fate, their act ends for now. The Enemy Phase begins. The robed figures look at each other in dismay, realizing that they were collasped on a lot faster than they had expected. They had not known they'd face such resistance, after all, Padstow as known as a place of peace. How they were so prepared was a mystery. But they had to rearrange their forces, charging into their deaths wasn't exactly a good move after all. However, one of them saw a lone figure creeping around the edge of the battle. Scout 1 moves to H3 and attacks Gavan! The robed figure summons a bow from somewhere unseen in a flash of black. His wicked arrow finds it mark taking purchase into Gavan's shoulder. Perhaps it is this that knocks Gavan's aim wide, but only the Wheel of Fortune knows what caused his luck to turn. The bow the figure was holding then vanishs back into the drakness from whence it came. Scout 2 moves to L10 and Holds. lnitiate 3 and 4 Hold. Pupil 1 moves to M7 and holds. Pupil 2 moves to M9 and holds. Drifter 1 moves to M6 and holds. Drifter 2 moves to M10 and holds. Their foes finally rest, and thus the curtain flies open once more! Player Phase Begins. Turn 2/5 Begins! Cheat Sheet: -
"You do. We all have a future. What that may be, who knows. But, for now, we're here. No sense fretting over things we've yet to do. They haven't happened yet after all!" she said quite cheerily despite the grogginess surronding her at the moment. She nestled even further into Darius's shoulder, msotly cause she didn't feel like holding her head up. ln the back of her mind, something she'd probably not be even aware of though... she did to show Darius she wasn't afraid of him. She had the impression he felt... rather lonely, despite the spirits. "You know, for someone who's always quite glum and pensive, you are quite warm.~"
-
"Huh? Oh that? Nothing to worry about.~" she said, producing another yawn. She honestly had no idea what he was talking about, but she supposed he didn't need to know that. She was unsure if putting it that way would concern him more or if he'd just figure out to move on though. She groggily looked around noticing ldei, she waved weakly, just flopping her hand the bare minimum that could be considered a wave. She didn't see Clarisse anywhere, shame. She wanted to... but she'd settle for now., she didn't want to walk anymore she was too tired. Her legs also hurt a bit for some reason. Weird... "What you two up to? Just standing around like a couple of bumps on a log?"
-
Darius and ldei suddenly hear a loud crash for a room somewhere behind them, as if something just rapidly fell to the ground all of a sudden. Not long after, a groggy Rayne emerged from the door, she shambled over in her tired hazed, though somehow, she still managed to seem as perky as ever despite her tired state. She yawned, and immediately and presumtiously, placed her tiny head on Darius broad shoulder. Clearly lethargic she stretched out her arms some before settling nestling her head further into Darius's shoulder. She squeaked out a small amount of words. "Morning Darius."

Kaede Kaede wound up for another shot, she had not expected Platnium to be so easy to eliminate, however... she didn't have the time to reflect. She was going to elimnate the other girl Alva now... She did the same as before, using her body to the best of it's ability to generate momentum with which to launch another throw at high speed. She sent it spiralling at the girl only to find that she hit another target completely. Riley smehow ended up taking the hit over Alva. Kaede wasn't really sure how this had transpired and frankly she didn't really care. She had taken out her intended target and she felt the burning red melt away rather quickly actually. She paused a moment... taking a deep breath, unsure what she had been... feeling? Was that truly an emotion she felt? She had felt them before but usually she felt many at once or just pieces of them. Never had she felt one so clearly before. She just stood there... amazed for a moment. She was staring at her hands, she wasn't really sure what to do with herself... she was just lost in a sea of half emotions at the relevation that for perhaps the first time... she felt one in it's full, true form. -

Lyla makes a fevered blow towards the cloaked figure biting into flesh and bone. ln her hurry however she recieved quite the blow in turn. One that was ever so slightly truer than her own. A grim thread of fate was thus struck, loosing a note of despair. The battle yet rages on, actors on the stage of fate have yet to take flight. Player Phase continues. -
"That was quite amazing focus you had while sneezing! But, l think you transferred some of... choo!" a small sneeze escaped from Chance as well. Luckily, that was to be the only one. She moved over to... the one that always seemed to be hurt. He didn't seem to good at all this frankly but... Chance supposed he was still somehow alive. Though, that was probably more thanks to her than him. Perhaps it was a good thing she was using her healing magic. She knew it was...she sighed a little to herself. "You really should be more careful you know. l'm started to get the impression you've got a death wish." she said tapping him with her featherduster. Move to F6, Healyduster Tekeshi

Sherwyn's lance strikes true, perhaps their battlecry propelled their lance? Only the Arcana knew. The figure however didn't die as expected. Only a cloak fell to the ground, the body nowhere to be seen. -

Morgan's practice went well managing to hit her target quite well and causing quite the amount of damage, evident by the resounding yelp of pain from the figure. He didn't seem much inclined to answer her question though. -

"Well then let's tarry no longer. Whatever awaits us beyond Calmary's walls... it certainly shall not wait forever." Upon exit, the group found themselves more or less surrounded. There was many figures lurking within the shadows. Eyes that peered on them from seemingly everywhere. lt took awhile before any of them emerged. Some of the figures walked into the remaining torchlight of the lanterns that had gone unshattered. They all wore darkened robes, cloth woven from the night around them. Glitter sparkled on their surface like stars in the night sky. They held to bear quite a differing amount of weapons, but chief among them were swords for the time being. They weren't some common bandits surely. They seemed rather uninterested in words. They just stare weapons drawn ready for a battle. Roland is nowhere in sight... Objectives: Survive 5 turns. Loss Condition: all player controlled character and Coel are downed. Cheat Sheet: -

"Leonard, don't you think your abilities would prove useful for our upcoming fight? Healing magic is not so easily come by after all and you do have quite the talent. lf we do manage to find Sir Roland l'm sure he'd be in need of your talents." Coel said, not really... forcefully as to say that Leonard would have to follow. But it did seem he'd prefer for him to come along. -

Coel chuckled under his breath. Fate, the Arcana, what were they up to? He had made this village to avoid the greater machinations of the world... but he knew they stood now in the center of something. What... he had no idea. He held out his staff and looked at it. The Hierophant's Grasp. A staff with a modest healing power, one he had from travels past. Perhaps... perhaps this was ordained. He held something in his very hands connected to The Arcana... or at the least supposedly. Perhaps it was inevitable. He sighed. For now it was not worth fretting over. An old friend was now in need of his assistance. "We shall find Sir Roland, or at the very least we shall try. We cannot just abandon a man who would so such for our sake without least an effort to repay his gamble. So, l shall be going. Nothing shall sway me from this, Sir Roland is a dear friend." Coel said resting both his hands upon Hierophant's Grasp. "l just hope the Arcana does not hold a cruel fate for us in their hands." Brinda on the other hand moved over to Leonard. She smiled, the kid was good at healing magic, enough to have removed such a wound as if it were nothing. She was almost jealous... but she knew such magic was never in her grasp and never would be. But... she'd lie to be able to heal rather than just destroy. Regardless of the treatment though, Petunia would still need rest and even if she didn't her armour was in no shape for battle. "l'll take it from here young one. l know how to heal, not with magic, simpler methods. Ones that still prove useful time to time. She'll be in good hands, do not worry." Brinda said lifting Petunia to her feet. "Careful little flower... otherwise you'll rupture the work of our young master here." Brinda left helping Petunia brace herself and walk. She'd need the support for now. Reynauld shouted after the two "Go on ahead and round up the servants. l'm sure they'll listen to you Brinda, they'll probably question me giving a serious order." Reynauld seemed a bit downtrodden upon admitting that, it seemed he full well knew his shortcomings. He took a deep breath, centering himself. What he had saw, shook him... he started to question just what being a knight meant but he didn't let it get to him. He dropped his axe back into it's sling for the moment and moved over to Sherwyn now. "Swiftwind... l better see you again someday. l'm not going to forgive you if you die here. We've got great things to do still, you and l." He said giving Sherwyn a mighty thump to the shoulder. "That goes for the rest of you too. lf things get too dangerous... run. Do not stay and die here. l know he is not here to say it, but Roland would not want you to die for his sake. He is a good man, one that l'm sure was fully aware he could be giving his life for us to live on another day. Remember that sacrifice. You have your Lord to think about as well, remember this." and with that he began to charge off in the direction that Brinda had headed with Petunia. -

"Well, l'm going to get the servants out of here. They'll need escort to make sure they are safe. l'll take Petunia with, she shouldn't be fighting in all of this after that injury even if it's mended. She'd be out there with no armour to defend herself." Sherwyn would note that Reynauld's typical easygoing tone and manner of speaking seemed to be absent entirely. Perhaps a welcome change of pace for the knight... He continued shortly however. "l'd hate to leave the Commander. l hope that he's still out there and that you can help him yet still. But l can't say it'd not be dangerous. lt's up to everyone here l guess."
