I avoided that Ymora on purpose... it quickly became way too focused on a secondary aspect that wasn't the purpose. The RP wasn;t supposed to be a Dating SIm basically, but it kinda turned into one that jsut so happened to have Pokemon in the background. I don;t want to bash on Chim or his work, that is just my personal feeling to what happened in that RP. Basically, no Secondary thing should ever overtake the purpose of the RP imo. If it does...why isn't just an RP abotu the thing that takes over rather than be one about the Main focus.? ((also, Lexiii guuuuuuuuuurl, don't release plot details of any kind that directly tie into the Story. It is kinda bad hat. We shouldn't be getting a preview, mostly cause people want to find out by watching it unfold, not being told about it. And secondly... it gives players knowledge of where you are headed... which in turn allows some players to try and f with your plans... I doubt that will happen here, but people do it be warned.))

Be fun to see some of those Fresh Recruits just thrown into the Fire. ((works with either version too!!!))

I kinda tried my hand at it once though due to the nature of the work, it got a bit rushed due to time skips etc... ((referring to Dream on Another Shore, that short in Graterras I did...that I should really write a new chapter for huh?)) Anyway, It is actually, kinda satisfying in a way... and not as hard as I thought. While it is certainly not the focus of that story. Basically, Romance as any plot device adds a lot when carefully and lovingly crafted. But, rushed or thrown in it really detracts from a work.

Well I am the same way, if it naturally evolves, I will go with it. But I hate that super binary, or just like... creepy just forcing it. It feels so fake and untrue that it just sits so horribly with me. Basically, I make it a pain in the ass to ship my characters so that people can only do it if they really want it to happen/are willing to have it realistically evolve rather than well... just pop into existence. It is once again my TRPG philosophy. You got to work for things you want have happen in a narrative, not just have them happen. If something just appears in a narrative it has no context from the play and it feels very out of place and can really subtract from games imo. Basically, my lexicon of personal experience is where I draw upon my knowledge base from.
-
I should mention... I don't even write characters in a way that Romance would probably be really all that great when involving my characters. ((probably as a mechanism that people won't try and do it on purpose as they are usually pretty self-sufficient characters or not really looking for it for whatever reason. ((hence why I made her 18... so you guys leave her the hell alone or are at least more inclined to...))

Keep in mind it is probably my Tabletop RP experience that makes me super averted to it, cause of the "Booty Roll" as I call it. ((variation on the term Booty Call, but it is when somebody rolls a Charisma Check to well... yea that. It is seriously one of the like... skeeviest things imo... and probably where my hatred of it comes from.))

Planting that made me want to have Emberly park her butt at the same table... ((really, be careful with those, not only do they give players a chance to mess with you... it gives the host that too. Basically that is a gaint "MESS WITH ME GUYS!!!" sign on your back. And it is neon with fog horns and a giant blinking arrow pointing at it. ((and I know... but I bloody hate romance stuff, it just feels out of place for me, mostly becuase most people don't handle it well. Heck, that is the sole reason I stay out of the Ymora RP and kinda refuse to go in there most times.))

It depends very much on what you want to do. It could be an interesting hook, but it isn't so good if new players join in. It becomes like cool for people who were in the original game, but it might be a bit alienating to newer ones. This is because it is just part of the lexicon and something they are just expected to know etc... Basically, just be careful with your discretion of whether it is worth it or not.

Oh yea... totally forgot about things moving up lol. And yea it might, Serperior popped up pretty quickly. Like it is in Borderline already just from a Hidden Ability.

"Eh, I am sure she was just freaking out, people do that sometimes. Why? No clue." Emberly said shrugging. She followed Arturia making sure to not smash her head against the doorframe as she walked out of the room. "As to what they are serving, no idea. Hopefully it is nice and hearty though. I enjoy good food. You would hope school food wouldn't be completely horrible so not getting my hopes up yes."

Keep in mind...soon you might have to overhaul the hell out of this thread.

Well, that is actually in I think the Rulebook for Apoc World, a TRPG set in a post-Apoc setting,... In which people die in very crazy extravagant ways. Like that is literally what is written under the NPC section of that or some other TRPG. And it rings very true, I suggest doing it. ((besides crashing them into the wall doesn't literally need to end in death to that NPC, cause sometimes... the car smashes through the wall.))

It is the whole COmfort Zone issue. The first time it is foreign and new, and frankly, scary as hell. The unknown is what is scary to people and makes them uncomfortable. However, once they slowly get more and more into it, the more and more that unknown goes away. Hosts especially have an easy time, and I suggest making NPCs that are just off the wall sometimes, or by rolling on a random table. It forces one to improvise and it makes things interesting and mixes it up for you. Because many NPCs are throw away anyhow, treat them like Stolen Vehicles. WHile you are using them, that is like driving the car going for that joy ride. But there comes a time where you like, "I clearly can't keep this." and as such do accordingly. Like maybe... just maybe, drive that bloody car straight into a wall just to see what happens, or how it explodes.

I am basically Emperor Palpitine in the the Prequels, I slowly goad people to the darkside via suggestion. Anyway, totall y play the character the way you Strat left you with. It might be interesting to expand in new ways. Playing a character you are not used to forces you to expand your thinking and deal with problems in a whole new way. It is what makes RPing interesting.

Some people got to be the shit stirrers even in something like this lol. I am just saying, one can spin a character many many different ways. If her in character motivations etc don't line up with what I said, disregard it. ((as is what you have done lol.)). I am just saying there is a way if you wanted her to be a more shadowy terrible person. ((like more passive aggressive about how she manipulates people etc...)) totally up to you and it is possible. I just used that as an example.

I love it so far. ((and Dobbs, Rich Spoiled people do things in the moment, some never truly got to grow up due to being sheltered their entire lives up to a pint where they leave so how. She saw Acquie's character do it, and maybe in her sick mind it just went to, "Hey, that looks fun, why not try it!")) Then again, this may due with me being on the outside of the drama ((and probably will be a lot of the time in the inter-character stuff, due to jsut how large and intimidating Emberly is XD.))
