Under the Hill - Second Circle: Lust
Raindrop Valkyrie replied to Notus's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
" I Figure it is best, at least 2 of our enemies are headed towards the top. Don't forget that Rat Quincy. I can handle this Marcus character for you guys, but you guys got to deal with Quincy." Byron sighed, "I don't know why, but nothing I can do has any effect on him, and we are both adept gunslingers, our skills are too matched." -
[OOC] Dragon RP
Raindrop Valkyrie replied to Chevaleresse's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Yea glad there is some interest still lol. (thought me and Murdoc killed it with our nerding out a bit too hard.), but yea we are only using the guidelines of D and D to strusture how dragons work etc. We won't be doing anything with the actual rules, there will be no Armour class, stats or rolling of any sort. Just the overviews of our Dragon Friends so we have an idea of what dragons are. (Also Shadow Dragons were OP in 2nd edition, getting hit by their Breathe Weapon devoured part of your soul, a.k.a made you lose 3/4 of your levels. If you saved you still lost half and took the damage it did. So needless to say, that Breathe Weapon is a no go.). The other Dragons seem alright, though I would really like the Gem Dragons, they are the most interesting to me. (Also is the Mercury's Breathe Weapon still a Beam of Light? Cause it's one you described sounds rather lame, but then again most Good Dragons had 2 Breathe weapons at that time. One being Non-lethal, the other being Lethal. Also Merc's were not true Dragons then either lol.) -

(actually only mentioned the Chinese style because for whatever reason Cloud Dragons and Mist Dragons are, they are only really in Forgotten Realms in 2nd Edition, trust me, that stuff surrounding Dragons has changed alot from 2nd Edition and I am a traditionalist when it comes to my D and D, Do keep in mind we don't want to kill them with too much choice as well.) -

Yea there are a few new types of Dragon not in 2nd Edition. How overboard we want to go with the Types? I say we have at least all the common ones for the Main 3 types of Dragon, will spoiler these ot make it less cluttery. Chromatic a.k.a Evil Dragons Gemstone a.k.a Neutral Dragons Metal a.k.a Good Dragons Other would just be auxiliary choices if we want them.Stuff such as Shadow Dragons, Cloud Dragons, Mist Dragons and any other Psuedo-Dragons. We want to let them have a choice of Body type as well? [Like they can choose Wyvern(2 Legs, 2 Bat Wings), European(4 legs, Bat wings.), Chinese (4 Legs, Flight without wings.), Land Wyrm (Similar to Chinese, only it has Burrowing instead of flight.)] -

^ why I avoid it, it is hard to play something devoid of emotion or personality if you have those things, because it is hard to truly understand. (Also if done wrong they become very stale characters.)- 1735 replies

[OOC] Dragon RP
Raindrop Valkyrie replied to Chevaleresse's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
I am using a bit of an older system for the aging, so what stage is that? (I listed the list I have earlier lol.) Either way I think Players should start in the more Middle stages, like Young Adultish range. That way thwy would get some power and not be helpless whelps unless they wanted to be. There could be time skips but it would be hard to maintain relationships with Riders if you start very young since timeskips for Dragons would be hundreds of years. I assume we will Co-Write this? Or do you want to fly it solo? (I am fine with either.) If we are Co-Writing I will probably let you handle the main NPCs like the Slayer and Rider tribes, I would handle some Freelancer Dragons for players who want to strike it on their own. (and to add some more flavour into the story, since Neutral Powers will make it more interesting imo.) -

Raindrop Valkyrie replied to Notus's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Byron looked dumb-founded, he almost dropped God's Hand he was so flabbergasted.....He twirled his gun and put away. "Don't get any Ideas, as you can tell I am a fast draw., I will let you handle this one dear Ethnic." -

Byron Kept his Piece aimed at the Old Man. "Ethnic, go get those weapons, then we can talk him down alright?" -

Raindrop Valkyrie replied to Notus's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Byron quickly pulled out God's Hand Firing directly at Taylor's hand when he turned to look at the little girl. It was blindingly fast as Byron fancied himself a bit of a modern cowboy. -
Under the Hill - Second Circle: Lust
Raindrop Valkyrie replied to Notus's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Byron didn't like having a gun pointed at him, but he didn't want to kill the crazy old coot, He would wait until his attention was on Rose or now Ethic, before he took a shot to disarm him. He was a fast draw, and would be able to do it before he was the wiser. He hastily tucked God's Hand into his Blazer when he bent over to drop The Preacher. He Put his hands on the back of his head and played along for now. -

Raindrop Valkyrie replied to Notus's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Byron "Don't worry about it Ethnic, just know we are here for you." he said as he checked his guns ammo count. He filled God's Hand with 6 bullets, and spun the chamber back into place, then twirled it around his finger before putting her back into her holster. "And I do recommend getting a move on, hopefully I won't slow you guys down to much, I am still a bit hurt from earlier. If I do, just leave me behind, I understand." He had a visible limp in his left leg, it would slow him down a fraction, but in a fight dodging would be next to impossible. -

Raindrop Valkyrie replied to Chevaleresse's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
oh and D and D mechanics will not be needed. I assume the only thing D and D related will be where we pull the basis of the dragons. (Like what Breathe Weapons they have and Species.) THat is about it. (at least tht is what I have gathered.) -
[OOC] Dragon RP
Raindrop Valkyrie replied to Chevaleresse's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Well it is mostly me and Murdoc Nerd Ranting lol, you can just ignore us feel free. (and dragons can breathe much more than Fire my friend.) I think we got enough interest, no? Have we decided on the plot being the Riders versus The Slayers (the Slayers I feel should should have some creature they work with as well imo.) with the freelancer dragons? (I wouldn't mind running it, but I want to know what you guys want for story.) -
Nope, but I reckon he will show up now. so where are you Tempy?

[OOC] Dragon RP
Raindrop Valkyrie replied to Chevaleresse's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Just ignore us lol, it isn't really that important to the overall idea lol. (I am mainly trying to see how D and D he wants it to be, like if we are using the canon things from that.). But it doesn't much effect the RP other than some small flavour things. -
Under the Hill - Second Circle: Lust
Raindrop Valkyrie replied to Notus's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Quincy Quincy noticed the staircases rising almost endlessly into the sky. "Hmm, looks like a good vantage point, Maybe I will be able to see them up there, shame I don't have a Sniper Rifle, then I would be able to pick them off from afar. Guess I will have to lie in wait ahead., This seems like a focal point of this place, maybe those I hunt will be drawn to it. Either way, I will await them at the top of here." after his mad ravings the Rat started to climb the stairs, folding his hands together, smiling to himself as he went. -

Yea sorry, second edition still stuck in my head. (Like that shit was complicated.) (and if it ins't much different than magic, I don't know why include it, other than some flavor , but I don't like too much fluff.) Either way I am willing to step back on it lol, if anyone else thinks it would be somehting good to include go ahead. I am in the camp of eh, whatevs right now so I am willing to let it fly if people don't mind it being there. -
[OOC] Dragon RP
Raindrop Valkyrie replied to Chevaleresse's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Oh no I know, I just want to know how close we are getting. (and good, I don't want that at all.) I am mostly not really wanting to keep track of all the crap that comes with the psiconics......Like all the defense modes and stuff, even in a more Free Form RP there are so many bloody nuances to how it works I just don't think it is worth it. And asking these questions before hand, cause someone needs to ask them lol. I have to play Devil's advocate a lot. SO what does everyone else think about the plot device? I think i have been talking a little too much lol. -

He kinda does but doesn't. He is in an early cycle of his character growth, so yea that is why you could get that feeling. He doesn't understand how to be a leader right now. (That is why Brass is the true Leader of what is happening right now, though Brass knows more about Orpheaus then you guys do. It is hard to tell you guys about Orpheaus without letting things out of the bag much to early. If I let you understand the character, his growth won't mean much to you guys, you will see him grow, and learn his story. I think I said before that Orpheaus is the Foil of the Gentleman. The Gentleman is sure of his goals, as powerful as he ever will be, and knows how he chooses to rule. Orpheaus on the other hand is lost and doesn't know what he wants, he only knows what other people want him to do, which is rule his people, but he doesn't know if he himself wants that. Orpheaus now is very weak, compared to the infinite potential he has , and lastly, he has no idea how to lead, or where to begin. He was conditioned to do something he himself didn't even know if he wanted it. Keep this in mind as the story progresses. As Orpheaus gradually finds himself, The Gentleman will slowly regress. Keep an eye out for the hints. (in Chapter 3 I will be adding some posts under the header In A Far Away Place. These will be interactions between The Gentleman, His Imp Hastar, and another character you guys have yet to met. That is all you are getting from me on that, so don't ask for anymore. ) TL:DR Orpheaus and The Gentleman will probably be seen as odd characters. Their characterization has to be panned out more than the others, flaws with them will probably be easier seen than other characters. I can understand people not liking Orpheaus right now, he isn't supposed to be all that likable as it shows how he feels about himself. (and people who are like that tend to have trouble communicating to others.) The Gentleman is a bit different on that front, though it will become clearer once his motivations are revealed. ((And her Name is Jupiter, I picked that name for a reason, I wonder if any of you can guess why.))

[OOC] Dragon RP
Raindrop Valkyrie replied to Chevaleresse's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
uh, what? Power Points were used for 2nd Edition, I have no idea what encounter powers are. Either way, I say we cut that for this, all dragons have Magic anyway, so not much of a point. (it was only Gem Dragons that could and they didn't have many of them. Besides I don't know if the rules for them translate well for a forum ip, there was too much rolling related stuff, like contesting scores etc.). I would like that their be a clan of people that work with the Dragon, and those that slay them it would make a dynamic that would be force along the story. Though would players be the Dragon Riders, or would those be NPCs controlled by the mod? Also would Free Lance parties be allowed? (like Dragons off on their own.) Remember Dragons are very isolated creatures, even those of the good variety don't like hanging with their own kinda very much. -

That is why I say that. (their systems were extremely flawed in 2nd edition so they may have improved later on in the D and D generations. Might be a bit jaded due to that as well.) Bit yea Gemstone Dragons have been around since at least 2nd Edition. We want to be very literal with the rules of Chromatic = Evil Dragon, Gem = Neutral and Metal = Good? I can't see that working well for pcs, though it is how Dragons work. (Sorry I am a bit of a traditionalist, when it comes to D and D and this type of stuff. SO I hope your understand my skepticism)
