"Clarisse!" with the foes goen for but a moment Rayne had the moment to process what had happened. She felled the enemy that had struck down her newest friend but she'd have to get her to safety. She saw figures approaching in the distance. Surely some sort of reinforcements. She had to get her out and now. "Beau! We need to save her. Please! I know you don't like people other than me but we have to. We have to!" she implored the stoic horse, tears welling in her eyes. Beau only snorted in response. He landed for a moment, taking a deep breath. Rayne for a moment thought he might not listen to her. That'd he'd resort to his old ways. She buried her face in his unruly mane. He felt her hands grip him even tighter. "Who could say no to a face like that? I'm nary a heartless bastard. Oi... this lass is goin' ta be the death o' me. Heh, but I cannae imagine it any other way." He pushed off rocketed towards the axe fighter. Rayne sat up feeling him begin to move. She had to be ready. Beau flipped upside down to make it easier for Rayne to grab her friend. They had trained this particualr maneuver before but had never had to use it until now. When they approached Rayne bolted towards Clarisse aiming towards her center of mass. She wrapped both of her arms around Clarisse's midriff and clamped won as hard as she could. She was using all of the strength in her legs to remain in her saddle and all of it in her arms to pull Clarisse from the ground. Beau made a sharp turn assisting with the rest of the rescue effort, by turning in such a way that Clarisse landed on his back guided by Rayne's arms. Rayne hugged her close to her, making sure that she'd not fall off. "I guess I get to take you flying earlier than I thought. I just wish you were awake for it." Rayne whispered the thought out loud. It's not even worth running Rising/Growing/Blazing elements skills even with Killer Weapons. Their damage output is lower than most every other special as they A. take so long to charge. B. They can only activate before a battle meaning if you work up to it you can't hit them with it so you won't get your damage needed for a possible ORKO. C. You'll never reasonaly hit more than a single target. They aren't awful I guess they are just overly flashy and not as good as they look. Pretty sure people are living the dream and not the expectation if it's the case. Moonbow easily outdoes it as it's uptime is crazy high at 2 ((Moonbow is legit solid choice on any unit pretty much.)) Even Bonfire, Icebergs are more usable as Killer Weapons make them go off a lot more often. And even if you can't utilize either of those you have Draconic Aura/Fang for high attack units and Luna is always a great fallback. ((Luna and Moonbow suffer against Squishies but you probably don't need a heck of a lot of extra oomph against them.)) As a note, This is why Astra is terrible. ((it's also cause it's 150% of attack after everything so if you deal 0 damage with your attack you deal... 0 damage and your trigger does zilch.)) And further Galeforce is also outlandish unless you build a team made to abuse it ((with a dancer or even two to make it work properly.)) Quick Edit: For Rising Elements, think of it this way. They deal the same as your damage right? ((well assuming your colourless, if your not colourless WTA or weakness don't apply)) so it's basically like 1 extra attack that only works on initiation. So... it functions like a Brave Weapon you have to spend a few turns charging and won't go off when you want. So, unless you hit multiple targets ((which you won't on average)) it's basically akin to Brave Weapon damage, with a different drawback ((a.k.a having a silly long wind-up time rather than being a weaker mt weapon and lowering speed.)) P.S. this example is BY NO MEANS perfect. like it really isn't. But that's the easiest way I can like illustrate how outlandish the charge cost is for an upside that will rarely ever hit and how not worth it the skill is if you don't hit multiple targets. Really these skills are for the enemy units in GHB since their maps are designed to funnel your units into those formations more than anything else. ((If you think back to the Michelis GHB... remember how both sides of the maps were long vertical hallways? That's why. And even then I doubt you ever saw him pull it off without them killing one of your units by the time he charged it.)) -

I think your underestimating how hard Ignis/Bonfire hit for when you have that much defense. 40ish attack isn't bad and is actually a solid attack stat. ((especially on Lances as Swords are almost all squishie as heck. Barely any of them have over 30 there are expections but they still don't fare well.)) and did you know Lukas's base attack is exactly the same as Eph's? Bonfire triggers on the second attack from QR with Killer Lance ((the weapon that Lukas runs and naturally has.)) and ignis triggers on next turns follow up on on the next target that tries to hit you. ((and as you will probably not take very much damage you'll still be in range to QR again)) Secondly if Effie runs Quick Riposte she dies to any mage in the game more or less due to how low her resistance is. Her defense while isn't awful isn't quite as high as other knights and when you get doubled from not having Wary Fighter opening her to being destroyed by a lot more units in general. Effie is mostly strong because of the Brave Lance build which isn't a defensive build ((and nor are her QR builds either.)) Effie is pretty much a bulky nuke that you have to deal with the low movement rather than a true wall becuase her enemy phase is nearly always garbage cause it's pretty easy to pick her off from range with mages. Eph is more immeditately comparable but once again he typically fills a different role as a supporter. He's got combat potienal don't get me wrong ((and is a super strong unit.)) every other Lance Infantry has a different goal. They are hardly the same. The clostest really are Sharena and Eph who are supporters. ((Sharena with her attack debuff)) However Eph's Hone Skills are much easier to apply leading him to using bein gthe option if it's there however Sharena ofers a much different statline actually having some speed under her belt so she doesn't get doubled by really anything. There's a lot more difference in them than I think you realize as they have different goals in general. They are definitly and Eph isn't high tier for no reason just you... are horribly off-base saying that every lance infantry is exactly the same cause they really aren't. ((and for that matter Effie isn't infantry so not sure why she's being mentioned at all...)) -

Uh defensive units don't give a toss about speed. They use Quick Riposte so they double while doing what they are supposed to do... defend. On top of Bonfire or Ignis with a quick charge due to Killer Lance that give him a lot more dueling power. -

The short answer to this... yes if you got a Michelas's you don't want. Having no weakness to bows greatly improves Subaki's surviblity as they don't get a bunch of free damage against and him and they check into his larger stat. He's a pretty strong bulky blue just cause flier momvent is rather powerful. ((Reposition shenanigans making it ever crazier.)) Weird... a physical damage dealing physical tank didn't deal good damage to a dedicated physical wall that deals damage to Res.... almost like that is easily expected. In seriousness though like... Tiki existing doesn't make Lukas bad especially when the only hyper common dragons are the Blue ones in the meta. Like Lukas is meant for physical damage soaking. Of course he's going to do absolutely terrible against a Tiki. She's a hard counter. But just cause aunit has a hard counter doesn't... really mean anything. Like Does every team ever have a Tiki on it? Probably not. And of course mages will tear him to bits. He's got low res. Like if you want a more balanced Tanky Blue((that isn't an armour something similar)), Oboro is your go to. She has to run Res Boon, as it gives her just enough to eek out ahead of pretty much every Red Mage and a lot of blue ones ((mostly not named Linde.)) and she can survive Greens. Lukas is more or less the much more Physically defensive inclined of the too so you want him for Specifically face tanking pretty much most physical weapons since even if he doesn't kill them he stops them dead in their track. He's specialized so he's not going to fit in every team. He has a purpose... a role to fill. There's going to be natural things that just undo him. It's the nature of things after all. ((just as a note though, if Ignis is up which will probably be Lukas's preferred thing to run... he ohkos both Tikis with their basic kits.)) Also, Forgive for I have sinned. -
Rayne steadied herself as she flew in taking a deep breath. She had gone over to assist the others with the deluge of soldiers at the front end of the building they were trying to protect. There wasn't much she could do without relieving the pressure on this front as she couldn't deal with the other on her own. It was best to free the others. And so...she would. Rayne and Beau rocketed towards the Cavalier on the bridge. Beau misaligned his run however leaving Rayne just out of her normal throwing range. She didn't want to wait to circle back around. There wasn't really time. So, she stood up on Beau's back, and before the horse could react she leapt forward with the javelin in hand. This was was a bit heavier then she was used to, but she knew that weight would come in handy for getting through her target's armour. She loosed the fell stinger midair and it whistled towards it's mark. There came a wet thud as it landed smack dab in the middle of the man's chest. But it didn't kill him outright. The horse he was riding however spooked and started to bolt. He tried desperately to regain control of his steed but the javelin sticking from his chest made it difficult. Too difficult in fact. All that could be heard next was another resounding thud as his body hit the ground. The spear worked it's way further up as he landed on his front, pushing it all the way through, piercing some... important things on the way out. Beau wasn't happy. He sped up trying to keep up with his now jettisoned rider. Luckily he was used to having to catch her from all the times she fell off when learning how to ride him in the first place. He tucked in his wings increasing his speed as he dived to try and get underneath her. He skid along the ground tearing up dirt and sending it flying as he touched down on the ground. The landing was a bit rough, the pegasus's knees buckling just a bit from the impact, but he caught her.

More or less if you need a mage killer she's good. Qaudsuna basically is most comparable to Kagero for the role she fulfills in that she takes down squishy mages or low defense melee units. ((or fliers that aren't Gronnraven Camilla, who you'll probably only see on flappy emblem teams. Well... mostly likely.)) She deals with a wider array of things than Kagero as she can combat horse units with low defense. Basically if you need an assassin and you don't need the skill elsewhere go for it. ((I'm only really making one though cause Setsuna is one of my favourite characters lel.)) -
Time for a little madness. Shaking things up a tad ((yes the inevitable heat death of the universe shall commence Hukuna has a male character for an avatar.))

"Ahhhhhh! How did he get there?!?!" Rayne exclaimed noticing the mage sneaking past her. There appeared to be a part of the river that was much more shallow then the rest allowing a somewhat safe passage. Beau only snorted in response. He was much more aware of the battlefield then Rayne was, as he knew this was the mage that she had jsut failed to fully fell in the forest. the trees provided him jsut enough cover. However Beau was ready to show him that he made a mistake coming out of them. All he awaited was Rayne's orders. He knew she she'd go back to assist her friends. It was jsut in her nature, surely enough he was correct. Rayne peeled back around having Beau await over the river. Just as Beau predicted. She readied her javelin to toss at the mage attempting to cross the water bridge. "Let's make the safe crossing a little harder... shall we Beau?" Move to N17, Send Mage 1 up a creek with no paddle. ((attack with Iron Jav.)) then canto to [pending]

well... didn't know I had the honor of being a mention. *sniffles a little* No... I'm not crying I just have something in my eye. ((Seriously though you's great people Ama lol. Sorry I'm not around all that often to talk to ya and what not. I do enjoy the chats when they happen doe. Always good fun~)) -
"Well, missin' your target isn't a lesson I need ta learn Thunder Blunder so I'll pass on your kind offer.~" Meredith said, complete with a playful bow. "Besides, if you're such a pro with lances, why give them up and go for magic? Seems rather... unintuitive a decision if you ask me. Not sure what I'd stand to gain from one that quit lance to find a new muse." she did find the man fascinating in the fact that he was seemingly build much more like a soldier than he was an academic. She always had wondered about this one but never really found a good opportunity to speak to him.

Tfw the AMA trend seems to be in full swing again. ((one of those trends I'm not cray about. Probably jsut since I know if I did one no one would bother to even comment on mine lel.))

Tbh you only really need Quick Riposte 2 at most for it to be effective since it's rate is only 10% per rank ((so 90% to 80 to 70.)) so it's not that big a deal to have 3. So ye, Subaki is at least good for giving your units one of the best skills in the game currently. -
I mean it's a remake of what is widely considered the black sheep of the franchise as it's just super different and weird. ((and they are keeping quite a bit of the weirdness like 1-5 range bows for example.)) they are modernizing it in places though I suppose so there is that at the least. ((like apparently there will be supports more akin to the gba style of supports added and a lot of general story will be added into the game so it... actually has one.)) Anywho, of the things you're asking about I've not played Awakening but if plot is what you value... don't bother with Fates now. You'd want enough to pick up the full thing and potentially the dlc ((cause it has some important plot stuff in it cause LOL, bad dlc pratices... -_-)) but even then it might be worth skipping. Fates... in the story department is extremely lacklustre. Like it's plot is already poor quality and it's hit rather hard by really poor translation work. ((thank god Treehouse isn't working on Echoes...)) the only thing I really dug was CQ's gameplay since the maps are much better designed and it's a nice challenge. The rest of the titles are kinda weak though in most aspects. ((Birthright suffers from pretty bad map design and ones with horribly annoying gimmicks. Rev is... a mess and a half.))

Uh...I don't remember Sophia having normal access to either Darting Blow or Ardent. She has Dragon Fang for a special and has Warding Blow normally if I recall. ((and darting blow would actually be pointless on her since her base speed is like...19 one of the lowest in the game.)) Ardent Sac is fine but Fliers prefer running Reposition ((as they can ferry teammates over terrain normally unpassable for them)) like I can't stress enough how powerful Repos on fliers is. It's kinda to the point it's not worth running anything else on them since it jsut helps your non-fliers keep up with you but being able to ferry them over mountains, water etc... -

@Fabled AsianShanna would rather run more offensive stuff than Armoured Blow/Seal Attack. Those skills only really have any merit on Catria due to her very balanced stat build. Shanna is better sticking with her natural Desperation and probably picking up something to boost up her stats a bit ((Fury mostly. While it has the after battle chip that damage can't kill you but it ups her speed and attack without nuking her defenses like LaD which is a lot harder to justify on a melee unit than a ranged one as it's easier to exploit. That and it weakens her natural special of Iceberg by a few point.)) In short, Catria's skills aren't really supe crazy amazing... other than like Luna is pretty solid option for a special. You could consider that for SHanna ((possibly though I think... Iceberg would be better for her... I'm nto sure.)) but Luna is pretty solid option for a lot of units. It's like almost as good as Moonbow. It's certainly not ideal though dancers tend to not care a crazy amount about attacking. The thing is I need to see if being -Atk makes her not able to eliminate greens when she has Ruby Sword. ((mostly Hector.)) since Olivia is mostly spot green removal and ruby sword helps her tank greens a lot better. ((she already is so bad at tanking blues making her worse at it doesn't matter really.)) so... it's potentially fine even if it's not an ideal IV spread. Also jsut for further info for you, you also have a Boon ((a +)) and a Bane ((a -)) if you ahve it at all. You can have all Neutral Stats, or you can apparently have 2 boons and 2 Banes (9though this is apparently rare as hell and not something to be counted on to any degree.)) I'll get around to checking her ability to deal with stuff with -atk. -

Because I like your gumption kid... have a Hukuna Question. What is your favourite thing in this world that you just cannot explain? It just makes you happy and feel complete. For example. I love rain. I couldn't really tell you why I do, it just feels right to me. Also, just to make this a bit harder((and so you can't wiggle your way out with a one word answer.)), try and explain why you think you feel that way about your answer. -

@Felix- I get ya my dude. I'll admit some of my thing is I just can't stand Yanderes at all. ((mostly since they are all samey all terrible manipulative piece of garbage human beings. At least they way they are nearly all portrayed in media. of course... in my opinion. Not like it's bad to like them it's fine, just 100% not the kind of character that gels with me cause they are extremely off-putting to me.)) I'm not really a fan of any of the characters in the gauntlet though myself like I don't even like any of the peg knights ((the only actual characer in this whole thing I like? Beruka who will surely get destroyed.)) like it'd be easier if the Peg Knights I gave to flying figs about were in it XD. I'm thinking of only picking Cordy cause I ahve her honestly so extra pointatude. -
