"Oh? Oh. No. I do know an old Marigold trick my ma showed me though. It involves... well I'm not sure it's the best idea given this one's ornery nature." After all, pricking someone with a needle tended to hurt. and this one was already throwing punches. It was probably for the best. Meanwhile the scene just kept devolving. Karik had landed in the room apparently having been drug in by the wyvern. However, Rayne didn't really notice him as she was paying more attention to Clarisse. "Perhaps we should slip out while she's distracted? Sound like a plan my new Guard guard?"
-
"The pleasure is mine~" Rayne gave a curtsy with the line. Bit strange to do when one was in armour but... worked nonetheless. Rayne promptly forgot Clarisse even asked her a question and just continued on. "Okay...so I need to find place I can pick up string and thread and needles and just... stuff I need. You know any places like that? Once I'm done with that I'm supposed to find the fountain at the center of town or something like that. I don't really remember, but I'll figure it out. Maybe... Who knows! We should get going though. I don't want the rest to have to wait on me too much. They might get lonely."
-
"Huh, those two seem to not be in the best of moods but they look the most trustworthy here. Perhaps... if I just talk to one of them... they'll just forget whatever reason they are glaring at each other. Who to go with though...?" she thought to herself while looking them over. Rayne noted they both had purple hair. Weird... really weird. She'd never really seen it before. two times at the same time... huh. Odd. Still, She quickly reached a decision. "I'll take the taller one. She seems more dependable... and less mad. Perhaps I can convince her easier to help me out. Besides... she looks pretty cute. I guess that's a bonus.~ Huh, her armour is really nice also. Looks like she also forgot her shoulder pad too. OOO, Maybe she's like me!!! OOOOOOOOO, That would make convincing her even easier we'd ahve things in common! I think that's how things work...? I dunno." She walked over without much hesitation and tapped the woman's shoulder. "You look rather capable, I seem to be in need of assistance. My name is Rayne Marigold, Tailor and member of the Royal Guard. However I'm... uh. Lost." she turned a little red admitting this. "I'm sorta new to this place and don't really know my way around town, so I got lost while I was looking for a place to pick up some goods for my tailoring work. I got so caught up in what I was going to buy for my next piece... I don't know where I am anymore. So, I shall recruit your services to help me find out where I am!' "We can do it together! You can be my royal guard guard! Think of the unlosting we will do! And you can protect me and stuff while I do the most dangerous activity of all... buying things while being an indecisive airhead! Well... and help me actually find my friends... I don't know how to get back to them. Will you help me please? What do you say?" a wink accompanied it along with a small handsign, as she held up her two fingers in the shape of a V near her winky eye.
-
Rayne hadn't really noticed she had gotten lost until she noticed a building she hadn't really before. It was a tavern of some sorts. Definitely not the place she wanted to be. However, looking around... she... didn't know how she got here. She was too focused on what she was going to pick up she forgot to actually pay attention to where she was going. If only she had Beau with her she'd not have trailed off. He'd have kept her paying attention. Or... really anyone else would've sufficed. She'd not have gone on her own. It was a bad... bad idea. Perhaps she could get directions to get back to her destination and further... to get her bearings for returning to the center of town. If there was any place to find some locals, or friendly capable people traveling through that might know a thing or two... a tavern was the place to look. Well, some of the seedier folk and undesirables resided here as well but this place didn't look that much like a cesspit and further Rayne trusted her people judging skills. She went in to look for a suitable person to assist her.
-
" Oh, you got here fast. Where did... you come from anyway? I know I don't pay that much attention to my surrounding ever... but you're pretty sneaky." Rayne looked around or a place a dude could hide that large of a cart. She didn't see anywhere. Huh... weird. "But yes take these, and oh... for your troubles and because I'm sure you do a lot of work around here that goes unnoticed and unappreciated... this is for you too.~" she handed over the Iron Lance and the strange sword she had picked up from before first. and after handed the man a small pouch. It wasn't much but it had 200 Vespers in it. It was the least she could do for one doing the work no one else would. Without him they'd have trouble carrying gear about. So, it was the least she could do to repay him.
-
"Oh... yes! Yes I would." Rayne said suddenly spacing back into existence when she was addressed. She was then looking around for something else. A suitable javelin to accompany her in case the old one gt worn down. It was already starting to look pretty shabby so it was for the best. "Oh, and a javelin too. I need one of them pretty sure...." she said trailing off back into thought as she looked around at the other weaponry.
-
Rayne looked over the selection trying to decide what to get for herself. She needed another solid Javelin for sure. But should she get some other weaponry? She saw a Lance that looked rather light compared to the others. It had a slimmer haft and the point was as well. It really was a lot like a needle. She couldn't help but feel it was meant for her in some sort of way. She was drawn to it and couldn't help but think it was perfect. She waiting idly just staring at the thing from the other side of the counter, forgetting where she was and probably did so until quite a few of the rest of the customers in the line died down.
-
Hmmm, been awhile since I've had this much... and I'd definitely not been spending it on lances then. Rayne thought blissfully to herself as she counted the vespers she had gotten. She was pretty sure she'd not run through all of her vespers, but she had a back-up supply of veps for her sewing endeavors anyway so she wasn't too worries. She needed a lot more thread, and was out of extra buttons for replacements. She could probably stand to pick up a few needles as well, she had a tendency of losing them after all. But first things first, big needle shopping~ Time to get some some lancery.~

Meredith tried with everything in her power to keep it hidden. It was rather easy with Serene being behind her mostly so she wouldn't get a good look at her abdomen before she could fling on something to cover it. She wasn't sure why she was... so defensive about this, why she was trying to keep it hidden. She never really felt ashamed of it before, but she couldn't recall ever being in a position where this mattered before. She placed her hand over it, barely able to feel it through the cloth. It was a rather large patch of tissue that was vaguely in the shape of a human hand. Perhaps, she just didn't want to have to explain it Serene. Or, anyone really. Especially not her. Not with it's origin. She felt... so vulnerable out of her armour. She always did... she didn't really like the feeling that much. It felt like a par of her, so being without it she felt... naked almost. However... she just tried to focus, rather than let these thoughts bother her. "I don't think so Firecracker. Though I'd hardly say I was a normal girl. My parents weren't fond of the idea, but that's getting ahead of myself." Meredith laughed while exhaling a sigh. Not really out of frustration but more out of nostalgia. Those times certainly were a special kind of strange. "I can't really speak for her, but I can speak for myself. I was always just fascinated by the tales of heroes when I was younger. Their darin' deeds, that they fought for the those that couldn't. Something about that selflessness just... captured me. Perhaps, I've always be a bit too much of an idealist, too much of a dreamer. I don't know, but I do know that as a child I always wondered why so many of those tales were about men. Very few I found involved women. It didn't seem like many appeared in them, save for the Goddess. It never really felt fair to me. But, I always wanted to protect people. To live up to those tales. I guess I just always wanted to give young women someone to aspire to. Old Man Gerson didn't help much with that, the bastard." She smiled widely as she said that. The type when you fondly remember someone. "He always said he wasn't much of a hero himself, always mentionin' that most of his career was spent in an era of peace. But, I don't think that battle is the only way one can be a hero. He gave me something to believe in. He taught me how to fight... mostly because I kept sneakin' away from home to bother him until he would." Meredith suddenly went bright red. "That's... a bit embarrassin' to admit actually." "But, in short, I doubt it's common. I think I'm an exception, as with Hoshiko. At least if the way my parents reacted to this all was anything. But, they knew my stubbornness would win out in the end so they eventually supported it. Begrudgingly of course, but they did in the end. Gerson refused to even train me if I wasn't serious about it. If being a hero wasn't the most important thing to me, he would've never trained me. He said he only did because he believed the resolve in my eyes. That it was one he once had. I don't think that's something just anyone has. I don't think all girls... or even young boys... mean it when they want to be a hero. I was different. I did."
-
Meredith went bright red in a moment. She'd, never really been called pretty before. Well she had... but it wasn't really meant as a real compliment. Just a thinly veiled excuse to get at her. To try and get into her pants are worse. Men. Not all of them awful not even all amongst soldiers. But they weren't exactly a tactful bunch at the best of times. She tried to contain her feelings though. Not, show too much. "I... I... thank you." she blurted out. Smooth move... doing a real bang up job here Mere. Oh shut up... She attempted to recover by just continuing. "I dunno about that. I'm not exactly the most ladylike out there. I'm sure a few think me mannish. Not that I care just I dunno." Focus... you can do this. Get yourself together Meredith. It's just a conversation. "Anyway, as ta your question. It's a simple thing really. A silly thing. Perhaps one I'd get laughed at for. I wanted to be a hero. I wanted ta be something that mattered. I wanted to protect people, the downtrodden, those that couldn't stand up or themselves. I figured I could make a difference. I was a lot more naive then. Worst of all though... I got my wish. I became a hero. It wasn't what I wanted." she shifted back again, clearly was a bit weary from running at full speed with a passenger on board. "I might need to get out of this armour for a spell. It's not great for the respiration. We should continue this back in the the tent."
-
Hoo, he was heavier than he looked. Though it was running with someone slung over your shoulder that was probably the real reason she was tired. She was just glad that she had saved him. He'd have a chance to recover as soon as their medic could tend to him. He'd not lose his life for this. It was a relief but still she felt bad the young one was ever put in this situation. But, there was no going back now. "Thanks for that Firecracker. I'm not sure we could've gotten away so easily if I had to do that on my own. Thank you." she said to Serene, after laying Dash down. She took care to make sure she didn't do any more damage again. She was weirdly afraid she'd break him. Or do something to end up doing more damage. She trusted herself the most with this and yet the least. She pushed it from her mind, the ordeal was over anyway, no sense in fixating on it. She slide down the tree, placing her head in the fold of her hands. Damn, running in full armour while carrying someone was rough. "Damn... I'm bushed."
-
"Well, you have me at least. You're not alone anymore. I knew what it was like to be alone or at least feel alone. It wasn't... very pleasant. So, I won't let that happen, no matter what the others think.~" after those words she just went back to her humming. She went back to just spacing out and enjoying the moment.
-
Rayne looked puzzled for a moment. What happened to the bandit? Though she knew it'd probably not changed her mind to do this had she known. So she decided it didn't matter. "No one deserves to be alone. I don't know what you're referring to, but it'd not change my mind even if I did. I can imagine, it was something rather trying if you're afraid of what the others are thinking, if you're afraid they won't accept you. However, you're here with us for a reason. Even if I don't know a lot about you, I know you're a good person. You wouldn't be here if you weren't. We're with the Royal Guards after all. One has to be of some base character to pursue such a thing even if their reasons are selfish." She had to believe... as her own motives were selfish enough. But she didn't think that made her a awful person. She didn't think it did for anyone else. "You being here tells me more about you than whatever you did earlier. The fact you're still here, says just as much if not more. I don't think you're a bad person Darius. And even if you were, some people are only awful... because they are alone. So, no one deserves that." Rayne put her head on his shoulder, as she continued to hum the tune she was before. She carried it well even still despite her new position. She looked rather small, and innocent next the the practitioner of dark magic.
-
After Serene's great display, Meredith finally had time to fully process what had happened to their ally, the young boy she'd hoped never really had to fight. But, Here they were. "DASH!!!" she was already close to him so she quickly moved over to the kid. "Hey, kid I dunno if you can hear me right now, but I'm going to move you. You fought well out there. I'm going to make sure you get help. I'll protect you until there's time to do so." Meredith was careful hefting him onto her shoulders, she didn't want to make his injuries worse or cause no ones of course. She found herself doing this for two allies today. She always had tried to save all she could in the past. This time... this time she felt like she actually made a difference for them. She was going to protect him. She'd not fail this time. "Let's hope the others end this, but until then you're with me Firecracker. Hope you don't mind providing me more support than usual." Resuce Dash, move to Y10
-
"Nothing in particular. You just looked lonely over here all by yourself." she said folding her hands together. She just gave the man a smile before going back to her humming her tune. It had,a strange rhythm too it. It was quick and upbeat however, having a cheery optimism to it that was undeniable. It was her favourite song. Maybe it would cheer Darius up. It was rather optimistic of her, she had no idea why he was sitting out here all alone.

I'm just going to note here, that I'm dropping this RP. I've on multiple occasions expressed my feelings on this matter so I doubt it's much of a surprise really, but I'm just not enjoying this RP. I can no longer really enjoy this in any capacity. I'm tired of the blatant and rampant disrespect to the GM, other players, their time etc... however I don't want this to be a rant. As much as I like the ideas here, and how the systme works, I'm sorry but due to the circumstances I cannot enjoy myself in this RP. Every thing is a constant struggle, I find myself having to repeat myself all the time on matters that should be clear, and this RP is more work than it is enjoyment. I dread posting and prefer to put it off as long as possible and don't even want to open the threads anymore. So, it's about time I cut my losses. Because this RP is jsut sucking my energy away and giving me nothing worthwhile in return. Thanks for the oppertunity, and I suppose, I'll see y'all around for now. Hukuna Sensei, Out. Toodles~

Rayne sat in front of her tent, she was more or less spacing out after a long fight. It always was quite tiring. And Beau was assisting her, she could only imagine how much more tiring this all had to be for the others. She'd been well trained but she was still rather young. Though, she could hardly say she was the youngest here now. Cade, 16. Karik... even younger. It was strange for her having two allies that were the same ages as some of her sisters. Cade was the same age as Rikken, the second oldest right underneath Rayne, though much different in temperament from her. Cade was... hmmm, Rayne couldn't really put a finger on it. She had a fiery temper it seemed. Like she hated the whole world around her. But, with how she reacted to the insult towards whoever sewing that was earlier... it was clear the girl could care about some people. Rikken in contrast was quiet, meek. She was afraid of everything. But... especially needles. Not the best thing to be frightened of when you're from a family of tailors. She'd probably have to take Rayne's place as the heir. She hated thinking about that. Leaving her sister with the responsibility she was supposed to be upholding. But... perhaps it would help her come out of her shell a bit more, maybe gain some confidence. Was it a bad thing to hope for? After all... the only reason this could happen is Rayne herself did something selfish. Karik was the same age as her 4th oldest sister, Susan. She couldn't imagine her having to fight like this. This... it jsut wasn't the place for ones their age. They shouldn't have to be worrying about life and death. They were still children. Even Cade still was but Rayne felt there was a lot less she could say on the matter since as she wasn't much older. Not only that but she had been around that age when she first signed on. So, she didn't really have the room. While pondering things, she couldn't help but see Darius sitting rather far away from the others. She couldn't help but wonder why. The man always seemed quiet. As far as her experience went, but she never remembered him being this distant before. It seemed... out of place. Strange. She wasn't sure what had brought it on, or if this was just who he was. She couldn't help but feel like he was lonely over there. She couldn't really tell why she did... maybe solely because she'd feel lonely like that. Beau snorted from behind the tree, he was more or less minding his own business. Though, it reminded Rayne at least if there was no people around she'd never be alone. She always had that unruly horse.~ But, it made her feel all the more for Darius. He shouldn't be alone like that. So, she got up. She marched on over and sat down without a second thought on the rock he was sitting on. She sat, humming some strange tune to herself, rather than really saying anything. She figured her presence was enough. She thought it best Darius siad the first words if he'd speak at all. She made the first move, now to let him go at his own pace, the one he found suited to him. She was fine if not a word was said. She only wanted him to not be lonely.
-
That shouting. Rayne wasn't really paying enough attention to make out what she was saying but she figured, terrible one-liners before actually doing anything of note... probably not on their side. So, Rayne figured it was time to once more do what she did best, use her throwing arm. "Come on Beau, let's give her a taste of our best technique!" "Alroight Girlie, but you should know better than anyone else... I was born ready.~" the horse snorted, happy as can be. He gave as much a smile as a horse could give, lookin' more like an overconfident smirk. "GIGA RAYNEBEAU OVERDRIVE GO!!!" she shouted as her and Beau made their valiant charge towards their foe. Move to T19, Unleash GREAT JUSTICE with the Iron Lance of DESTINY!!! ((that's totally not a normal lance shuuut up.)), then Canto back to Q19

Or one could just use an Attack Buff and give Nino Double benefit from it since if Nino is getting hit in melee you're doing it wrong. ((and archers usually aren't quite powerful enough to kill her since she's so fast they can rarely double... well... unless it's Takumi. But of course Takumi is stupid.)) ...Who? -

I don't agree with best. Catria is much better imo. Reason being is while Desperation is fucking fantastic. There's one problem... Shanna nearly almost always dies if she takes enough damage to activate it before Player Phase. Shanna is extremely fragile to the point it makes it very hard to actually utilize the skills she has. Further while Threaten Speed is solid for supporting other units, but she herself doesn't benefit much from it. There's nothing wrong with this imo... but it's not something Shanna herself really needs too desperately. But again it can be difficult to get in range for at times if there's enemies you can't approach due to bow coverage. Bows do enough damage that even without doubling Shanna is entirely toast. I dunno while Shanna can be good she feels a lot like worse Lyn. I prefer Catria because Warding blow allows her to trade hits and take rather little from them and she can duel things she might not otherwise be able to since if they don't die to her attack on Player Phase, Seal Attack basically makes Armoured Blow carry into her next turn ((however it also applies to mages and helps her allies as well.)) She's just generally more tanky than Shanna and still deals damage on par. ((she ORKOs most things still but take WAY less damage in the process.)) Catria imo, is better cause she still have great offensive stats like the rest of the Peg Knights, BUT is much less fragile. Luna is also MUCH better than Iceberg imo. Often reducing the enemy DEF by 50% translates to more than Shanna's 50% RES damage bonus. On stuff that the special actually matters on. Just Luna is stupid good and with a Killer Lance? STUPID GOOD. Like... Catria can fight Armoured units very effectively due to it. I'll go through the others here. Est: She's... weird. Very weird. She has a Heavy Lance which is cool! Until you realize that any armour units including Sword Armours at times are going to knock her out before she can actually hit them twice so she needs people to do prior damage for her ((which is hard cause Knights are hard as hell to chip damage, you can either power through them or do like nothing to them most times I find)). Her Skills are equally weird in Seal Speed and Defiant REsistance. At under 50% HP her resist goes up. Which is fine this makes her better at fighting mages I guess but... the problem is... Mages can't counter when you attack them, making this pointless. Further... she has a Heavy Lance. This doesn't help her fight armours at all. Same goes with Seal Speed. On Est... it makes no sense. Since she should be ORKOing things as an offensive unit. So more or less Est kinda has no actual skills, or ones that are so incredibly niche... they rarely factor in. Oh, and she has Shove... it's a thing. A Special Attack would've been much better in this case I feel as this leave Est without anything to augment her damage etc. Subaki: Is another unit with a Gem Weapon I feel is kinda crippled by in some ways. He will excel fighting reds especially, but I feel lacks in fighting other Blue units and Green Units DEFINITELY so lol. Swap is some interesting utility, but I feela special have it his more offense minded build. He's meant to go smack reds. He has up to +3 Res which is... really meh tbh. And his other skill Quick Riposte is... not really that great for him. Against the fast sword users it'll at least give him a follow-up if he doesn't get one, but only when he gets attacked on Enemy Phase. This makes him not as able to go on the aggressive in Player Phase. Further, you gotta be at dang high HP for it to go off so if a ranged unit picks off you're buffer, you're not going to be in for a fun time either. Worse though... is his speed is already good. So he usually double a lot of things anyway. Te only benefit he gets from this is baiting Red units to come attack him. So, there's some use in it yes but not a crazy amount. Caeda: Is more of a support flier and this is shown by her access to Rally Speed and Fortify Fliers. She has good flier synergy and can really cause her allies to excel. Darting Blow is... a bit meh but it at least always works and Caeda benefits from it offensively and it more or less makes her doubles certain on anything but the fastest of foes. Armourslayer... is weird though. Why they love giving armour slayers to squishies... I do not know. Palla: Another more supporty Flier. She sports Spur Speed/Goad Fliers that gain speed or both spd and atk if fliers when within a certain area around her for combat. She also gains mobility with Wings of Mercy, able to warp to any ally below a certain health threshold ((and hopefully... help them lol.)) Her Ruby sword makes her excel at fighting green units, with the usual costs. She can at least support through giving Goad Flier/Spur Spd bonuses though so it's not all bad. ((she can even do this while taking out a green unit, unlike Rally Skills which take yur turn.)) She also has Moonbow, a 2 turn Luna variant that does 30% rather than 50%. It's a nice bonus at the least for damage. Cordelia: Brave Weapons... hoo. Lucky for her she isn't slowed down horribly by it so she can make some very good use of the multiple attacks and not have to be worried about getting bopped on enemy phase. ((other than by like archers but kill 'em dead in melee yu good.)) Triangle Adept makes her all the more likely in battle against fast sword units to delete them with the double attack before they can even answer back on player phase. Basically... she entirely outclasses Subaki. Like she is jsut the better him. She also has Galeforce or AStra for special choices, both being a bit hard to work up. (9well if she didnt have a Brave Weapon it'd be harder but thankfully she attacks a lot so it'll go off msotl liekly.)) Pass is... pass and kinda pointless and bad. ((really all Pass exists for is to counter Obstruct imo...)) Florina: Is also weird. Heavy Lance again. However her skills are much better than Est's as they allow her to support her team as a sorta weird pseudo healer. Breath of Life heals adjacent units when she attack and Argent Sacrifice allows her to use her own hp total to heal her allies. It's useful in it's own way if you want a healer who an also attack basically. Darting Blow does... basically for her waht it does above.)) Hinoka: Worse Cordelia in the offensive department having... literally all of the same ideas in here kit there. She isn't as destroyed by Greens though which can be useful. She also has Rising Winds so she does AoE, but as this is on the same CD as Galeforce it's... weirdly the same in a lot of ways. She also has access to Hone Spd/Hone Fliers making your other Fliers better offensively. Defiant Defense is odd, but it's probably useful time to time so I'd not knock it entirely. Could be better... could be a shitty skill like Brash Assault, so let's be glad it's not shall we? ~~Minerva: Not peg knight but really her stat profile is similar, she has an axe and flier synergy. I'm only mentioning her as 1... I'm an asshat and 2. if you do a flier synergy team for whatever reason I'd include her simply so you ahve an Axe Girl and she has Ward Fliers. Her Special alos allows her some breathing room around Bows so she won't get 1 hit killed and Life and Death will probably keep her from getting doubled by nearly any archer.~~ and rant over. But ye, I'd put Shanna up above Est and Subaki, and about even with Palla and Caeda depending on if you're looking for more support or more offense ((if you aren't benefiting from either of their Flier based synergy buffs at least.)) but honestly msot of the others do things better. Brave weapons on player phase... so exactly what Desperation does, so for on player phase threats... Hinoka and Cordelia I feel jsut outclass. SHanna, is good but is is nowhere NEAR the best Peg Knight. -

Honestly so long as you play your flier well and take the arrows to someones else face, you can get around archers that way. It's what I tend to do when running Fliers. The only archer that can ruin that plan is Tacomeat cause he's a bloody cheat. Also I have FCorrin too XD. ((and I don't even use her.))
