Am I seriously the only one who can't find this honey guy's house?

Can someone help me with the honey guy in the forest? I can't find where he is at all.

Is it not supposed to be solved in steps like that?

If he goes to the left (which he must in order to avoid checkmate) I take his rook with my queen, he takes my queen with his queen, I take his queen with my rook, then he can't move his king so he'll have to waste a turn. Then I move my rook up one space then it's checkmate.

So I got checkmate in the Psychic gym but it doesn't register as a checkmate. Can someone help?
