  1. Andre walks over to the Wycoon's cart. Normally, a huge man like him might get stares wandering around town, but given that this was a world in which "guy that wrestles and kills gigantic monsters and makes them into hats" is a reasonably common profession, he wasn't that odd. Not that he still didn't dwarf passerby, but he didn't draw stares the way he might have normally. The Wycoon offers up a short spiel about how useful his services are to Hunters; a spiel which Andre probably finds quite boring. The important part is that he informs Andre that he can offer him parts from monsters not normally found around here in exchange for good specimens of local ones. Marisa stares curiously into the shadows, meeting Aurora's gaze. She muttered an incantation or two, and briefly glowed; Aurora might have recognized them, if she recalled encounters with mages with any clarity, as defensive enchantments. "I can see you over there," the demonologist says, cautiously. She couldn't quite make out the detail, but the form of a drider was something she'd seen before; Aurora was different from those, but still worth treating with caution. [21, 17] Mar quite adeptly practices his channeling, managing to keep the constructs active for a relatively long time.
  2. Hiroki frowned. Blink was here? And Wine? Chronos seemed as surprised as she was by the presence of the two gods. Unsure of how to proceed at this moment, Hiroki holds.
  3. Mar successfully preserves his various organs and such, getting a couple odd looks as he walks to the ship for carrying a bag of offal around. None linger too long though; improvisation and innovation were familiar things to the people who came to Val Habar. The blacksmith frowns. "Well, Tigrex parts are not normally too suited to taking on elemental properties. I have heard of a rare Tigrex breed that produces explosive powders, but the typical one simply lends itself to sharp and tough weapons. However," he says, gesturing to a bright purple-colored stall/cart across the road, manned by a wizened gnome-like person with long ears, "the Wycoon may be able to offer you a trade for some other monster parts that may take to elements better. That Aquaglow jewel there is used in decorations, not set straight into weapons; they can enhance your gear, but won't provide an element by themselves."
  4. The butcher nods, taking the money and quickly providing the requested goods to Mar, the various bits of offal thrown together in a battered-looking sack. "It's not much effort. Really, the dual blades are wielded in such a way that they are more one weapon than two," the blacksmith tells Andre. "Still, did you have any particulars in mind?"
  5. The blacksmith thinks for a moment. "Fist weapons? Not a standard design for a Hunter, but I have seen dual blade designs that might be called 'fist weapons.'" He reached back behind himself for a moment, and drew out a sheet of paper and a piece of charcoal. Soot-stained hands working deftly, he quickly produced a drawing. "Something like these?"
  6. "Actually, I don't buy and sell material, if that's what you mean," the blacksmith says. A massive, muscular, and tanned hulk of a man almost as large as Andre himself, his voice was deep, but rather more gentle and soft than one might expect. "Hunters provide the monster parts themselves, and I charge a nominal fee to turn those into strong weapons and armor. Your lady friend here has cashed in a favor on your behalf; for this visit, I will work for free." The butcher looks a bit bemused by Mar's request. "The cheap cuts are 300 zenny apiece. The offal, you can take, it's already hard enough to get rid of."
  7. Marisa waves at Mar in a casual greeting before the orc turns away. Mar, walking into the butcher's shop, finds that it consists of mostly various cuts of red Aptonoth meat, of a wide range of quality and variety. There's a smaller selection of more exotic meats; a pale reddish one labeled as "Khezu," several whites marked "Yian Kut-Ku," "Tetsucabra," and "Velocidrome," as well as a darker grayish one marked "Special: King of the Skies." They're hung from various hooks or laid out on shelves; the special hangs on a wall behind the feline proprietor, almost framed by the "lesser" meats. Marisa's nose wrinkles a bit as Andre approaches. "Huh. Good job, but you smell like wyvern breath."
  8. Hoshiko's mouth twisted a bit. A tough request, but fair, she supposed. It would be difficult to suppress her overwhelmingly heroic presence, and it grated to not be able to proclaim the glory of the Goddess from on high as she was wont to do, but there was a very real risk of endangering those around her. She sighed. This is why heroes were supposed to work alone; that was, the forces of evil would only be focused on them, and not the ones supporting them. She had drifted about for a bit, happening to linger near the statue; echoes of heroism had attracted her, mayhaps. "Indeed he was! Though, he may have been divinely inspired to discover this great innovation. Regardless, though, truly a great hero."
  9. Despite not heading off to anywhere in particular, the wayward pair of bruisers manages to collect their payment: 5000 Zenny to split, and a set of 3 Tigrex Carapaces and 3 Tigrex Scales, along with an extra Claw for each. Mar also recieves a Tigrex Maw, and Andre gets a Tigrex Tail. All three of the heroes present can see Marisa having a discussion with the hulking man of a blacksmith, near the docks.
  10. Ice was surprised, if not entirely displeased, by this turn of events. She hadn't thought Merlin was capable of such a display, or at the very least none of her behavior to this point had indicated such. Unless it was an incredibly extended joke. . . Still. Merlin was moving, and she was here to help. Ice proceeded after her, though with a small degree of difficulty that she wasn't likely to admit; Merlin's long stride combined with Ice's. . . lack thereof meant that she had to take a lot more steps in the same amount of time to keep pace.
  11. A short while after reaching camp, two carts arrive; one of them smaller and covered, and quite similar to the one that brought them here, being pulled by cats again. Another, larger one, has a human driving a pair of Aptonoths. It's flat and piled high with ropes and hooks. They head out to where the Tigrex was killed earlier; the pair can just make out a short amount of them preparing the carcass for transit before they're pulled away and out of sight of it. After a short while, they arrive back in Val Habar; the bustle from earlier doesn't seem to have decreased at all.
  12. Mar obtains: Tigrex Claw x2 Tigrex Scale x1 Andre obtains: 1x Tigrex Maw 1x Tigrex Carapace 1x Tigrex Scale
  13. Boosted by Mar, Andre finally brings down the mighty beast, while managing to get a decent picture out of the thing - though there's a bit of glare from the sunlight. One of the flaws of beautiful weather, that. It lets out a final, defiant growl through its ruined jaws, and then goes entirely limp. They'd both recall that they were allowed to carve off a couple trophies before the Guild took the corpse for proper processing, though what parts were in good enough condition to be carved off would vary. With something the size of the Tigrex, the number of things they could get away with carving off would probably be about 3; any further and you might run into trouble with the Guild butchers.
  14. Hoshiko woke up looking, well, like death. If waking up was an accurate term for what she did, anyway. She'd elected to share a tent with Luka at some point before everyone had settled in; she'd have rather slept in the woods, but with the potential of someone pursuing it was probably better to be closer to the rest of the group, regardless of how uncomfortable it made her. Unfortunately, this discomfort had prevented her from really sleeping. She didn't quite know why it was so difficult; she didn't have any reason to fear being accosted in her sleep, as the worst thing that'd ever happened to her while she was unconscious was falling out of a tree and she more or less trusted everyone here. The archer groaned, and sat up slowly.
  15. Ice's eyes narrowed slightly; for her, this was tantamount to a disapproving glower. Infighting was bad enough as it was; they were supposed to be united against a common enemy that Merlin directed them against, not squabbling. Infighting in front of the people they were intended to rescue was another thing entirely. To make matters worse, that Anemone had seemingly gone from having her head in the clouds to having it firmly stuffed into the metaphorical sand. "Merlin. Plans?"
  16. [21 straight] Mar succeeds admirably in his attempt, launching a perfectly formed spike of mana at the Tigrex. [18 vs 17] The spike drives itself into the Tigrex's right arm and then some, tearing through the wing and seriously hampering its ability to run. As it buries itself in the wyvern, the shock breaks the claw on that limb with another crunching sound. This whole process inflicts [8] damage. Andre chugs a potion, recovering 10 HP. The Tigrex charges, though it's weak and staggering from the bolt of mana lodged in it. It bowls over Andre and Mar for [5] and [7] damage, respectively, before stopping and turning slowly, with a limp, to face them again, eyes still scarlet with rage. Status
  17. She was almost disappointed when Madante dispatched the mage before she had a chance to tell him what she thought of his fancy arm waving and books. Oh well, though, there was still more scum to smash. "Listen to the captain! You've got nothing on this!" She jabbed the thumb of her off hand to herself, still exuberant despite the bit of charring going on. "YEAAAAAAAAGH!" Her wyvern flew almost straight upward, then dove right back downward at the armored ruffian before them, Myrdwyn's lance crashing downward with deadly force. J8, canto back to start
  18. Mar hacks at the Tigrex's forelimb with his saw, inflicting [16] damage. He catches one of its claws with it, and takes a chunk out; however, the implement is still just as sharp and deadly as it was before. Andre punches the Tigrex in the face! He deals [22] damage, and a sickening crunch sounds as fractures run through the small crests on the beast's head before they shatter, along with a fist-shaped depression on the thing's nose. This stops the thing dead in its tracks, and it cries out in pain before turning red again and leaping back. The Tigrex lets out an earsplitting roar, dealing 1 damage to Andre and Mar. Status
  19. These enemies didn't seem to be too tough, though her triple beam had left somewhat less of an impression than she'd expected. It didn't matter, though; their numbers were already overwhelming the enemies. She primed her auxiliary guns as she told the mech's onboard targeting system to calculate a pattern that was unlikely to catch her allies in the blast, and slid into position for the barrage. A small tone presaged a wave of plasma that flung itself at the remaining enemies. Curtain Fire
  20. "This is more like it! Alright, who wants some more a' this? You over there?" She aimed herself toward the armored one a bit to the north. "Hey buddy, here's a tip! AND A SPEAR BEHIND IT!" M8, Heavy Spear the armor
  21. A piece of the fourth wall falls on Andre and deals 3 damage. Andre attempts to rip off more scales. [17 vs 12] He succeeds again, further reducing the beast's resistance to punishment and dealing [5] damage. Mar channels exhaustive mana into the Tigrex; it seems to be getting more tired, but doesn't stop fighting. The Tigrex finally manages to throw Mar off - though he lands harmlessly - and stands up, growling at the two before preparing to charge again. Status
  22. so yeah like half of your sheet is in "fuck no" territory: -a multi-target, multi-turn disable (you never specified what blind actually does) is never okay -your weapon scales by two stats by default which is completely unacceptable without some kind of drawback -divine inspiration, i don't really like that much due to just passively dropping buffs on everyone -any perk that grants +1 AP/level with such broad "restrictions" is never going to fly; one AP is worth twice a stat point and perks only grant one of those -HDD mode either needs much lower bonuses or much more restricted usage; Level*CON is already letting you use it for 4 turns and that's with only 2 points in CON; next level if you put only one point into CON it'd be 9 -there is one underpowered thing you have; your transform action shouldn't take up AP as it would be granted by your perk. -your bauble is somewhat annoying and also overpowered; standard bauble scaling is level/3 to one stat -fluff does not belong in perks/flaws, also your "flaw" doesn't make any sense as a side note -armor of wind is ok, as is storm augment lastly I already don't like your attitude as a player for the whole "I made it deliberately OP;" there are plenty of examples you could have used to make a more reasonably balanced character
