Hiroki chooses to ignore the, well, blathering of her teammates - that was still a little odd, fighting in a team - and simply summons her mechs. The wounds she'd accumulated from earlier still hurt, but she wasn't going to let herself slow down. She leveled her main cannon and shoulder cannons at the singular enemy, figuring that it must be different enough from the others that it warranted hitting first. Trifold streams of yellow-white lanced out toward the strange creature. Melt on Waddle Doo 2d6+SYN (8) damage, ignoring RES

[IC] TTG Chapter 3: Gluttony

Kagari's responses weren't exactly helping her figure out what she should do here. Kagari was basically forfeiting the match; this meant that Hiroki should just take the win and move on with her life. That was the option that'd get her further ahead and generally work out better for her. But. . . She flushed due to a number of factors underneath her helmet. The love confession, first of all. How was she supposed to even deal with that? Romance was a topic she hadn't considered much at all save to summarily reject the prospect for the time being, and every time she'd come back to it she'd come to the same conclusion, and did she even like girls anyway? The idea didn't seem to be repulsing - what am I doing? I need to focus, and actually do something here. What came out of her mouth next wasn't exactly the decisive words she'd been attempting to locate, however. "I. . . I, um. . . I don't want to fight. . ." It was true, she didn't. Kagari had been nice to her, tried to encourage her even though they should have a cool relationship at best. She'd been prepared to lose herself in the heat of battle, fight until they no longer had to, not for. . . this. -
"Suspicious? I'm a royal guard, I'm the opposite a' suspicious. Or does 'plate armor and giant dopey flying lizard' fit your definition of sneaky?" She looked back at Karik questioningly. She headed toward the fountain that he indicated, though, and once she turned her head toward them she waved her hand in a broad arc above her head to get their attention. "Hey! Are you the Royal Guard? I'm s'posed ta meet up with you."
-
Myrdwyn slowed down a bit as she moved outside into the sunlight and such; it almost seemed like the light difference had stunned her for a moment or two as she adjusted. She heard Karik running after her, though, and stopped to turn and speak with him. "Kid, what do you want? I'm tryin' to catch up to the other Guardsmen around here, I don't have time for someone to poke around at me."
-
Karik's comment prompted a burst of angry flailing from the woman pinned beneath the wyvern. "Parents-! I'm gonna strangle you for that! I AM A GROWN WOMAN- oof!" Whatever she'd been about to say next was prompted by the wyvern moving, pushing the air out of her lungs as it pressed downward in order to stand back up. "Honestly, you'd think folks around here would respect a Guardswoman, but nooo, everywhere I go, people have got to poke. Ugh. . ." She sat up and used her wyvern to hoist herself into a standing position. Once she realized that the other royal guard had left, she let out an expletive that may have actually been worse than anything Karik had heard before, and skittered out rather unsteadily. The wyvern looked at the boy, blinked once, and then waddled after her at his own pace.

The purple haired woman, for her part, nearly toppled over upon missing her punch; it seemed she'd been relying on connecting to maintain her balance. "Listen here, you, I'm not just gonna sit here and let you mock me! Now hold still so I can. . ." She suddenly found it somewhat difficult to reply, as her wyvern pushed his way in through the door and promptly pushed her over with his nose after stepping on a fallen table with a crunch. "Hey! Let me go, you bloody overgrown lizard! I'm trying to educate this woman on what happens when you talk down to Myrdwyn Callaghan!" Said overgrown lizard did not seem to notice the woman's irritation as he settled on top of her, giving her a couple licks on her face as if he was a dog before laying his head down. He looked at the other two present, almost as if he was apologizing.
-
"Thash what they all say as soon as they find out I can put up a fight! Now apologize or you'll - wait, huh?" "Royal guard? I'm a royal guard! Are you the bastards I've been trying to chase down for days? I was s'posed ta come and help you guys out when we didn't hear back from ya. Now, uh, where was I?" She looked somewhat wobbily about the room. "Oh, right. YOU!" She started to wind up a punch, a prospect that posed a fair amount of danger judging from the situation, though it wasn't exactly happening at lightning speed.

"I think I know what it is. You're trying to inspire the spirits to fight on your side for the cause of justice but your own spirit is unconvinced! You need to set your soul alight with the fires of the goddess, forge your will into a weapon meant to strike down the evils of the world, or your aim will waver just as much as your heart does! Think of the vile villainy that exists in the world, and remember that you have the power to strike it down. Fill yourself with the righteous anger and the conviction to do what must be done! Terrin, you must fill your heart with the light of all that is good in the world and your desire to protect it! You must become a true hero of JUUUUUSTIIIIIIICE!" It was probably fortunate that no one in the camp was trying to sleep at the moment.
-
Hoshiko nodded matter-of-factly at the first question. At the comment following up the blast of lightning, she sighed and shook her head. "Well of course you can't hit with a pose like that! It has no energy, no emotion, no THIRST for JUSTICE! All in all it's a terrible pose! I don't expect you to match mine - they are sent directly from the Goddess, after all - but I've seen you do better than that. You can't expect the spirits to give their best if you're not doing it yourself. Here, let me show you." She snatched the tome out of Terrin's hand and thought for a moment. Then, she struck a pose: left foot far forward, the hand with the tome held over the outstretched leg, right arm held in an arc forward and over her head with her fingers splayed out as if lightning was arcing between them, and her right foot supporting. "Try that." She handed the book back over and picked her bow back up.
-
Hoshiko pursed her lips for a moment. It seemed that her fellow ally of justice was having troubles with his efficacy in battle. How could she resolve this. . . "Terrin, I have a suggestion that might assist you in your pursuit of self-improvement in the ways of justice. You say you have issues hitting your targets. . . have you considered that the spirits are dissatisfied with your poses?"

[28 vs 16] Mar successfully holds onto the Tigrex! It falls down toward Andre, seemingly tired for a moment; this may be a good chance to inflict further wounds on the beast. [18 vs 17] Andre punches the Tigrex; however, generally, being directly underneath a falling wyvern has ill effects on one's health. He deals [7] damage, but is smooshed for [5]. Status:

Mitsurugi looked at the platforms for a moment. It would be quite difficult - or perhaps completely impossible - for most of her compatriots to cross to the other side of it and interact with the device located there. However, she wasn't quite bound by the same rules. She took a ready stance for a moment, then leapt gracefully over the pool, magically gliding over to the other side, unless something were to interrupt her flight.
-
Hoshiko shifted about in her perch - the sound of armor had caught her ear. It hadn't come from outside camp, which meant it was either one of their allies - Keagan? - or an enemy soldier whose memories had only seconds left to record the world around him. The crackling sound of her longbow drawing back echoed slightly through the woods as she turned toward the source of the noise. She dropped the bow and let the string relax when she saw the person in question. The garish outfit certainly wasn't suited for sneaking, and they were doing pushups besides. It took a moment for her to recognize Terrin from the angle she saw him at; what was he doing, anyway? The archer heard him mutter something to himself as he went through his regimen. Curious, she stayed in her tree, crouched and watching him.

". . ." Hiroki's head clouded with confusion. She'd made the determination that she would fight, regardless of how the person in front of her had treated her in the past. She should stick to that. It'd be better for her if she stuck to that. Kagari was a strong opponent and defeating her would definitely go toward proving Hiroki's own competence, but at the same time defeating an opponent that didn't fight back was hardly proof of anything, and besides, did she even want to beat Kagari? The woman had to have her own goals, dreams, motivations, elsewise she wouldn't have ended up in the arena here - why am I even here, I don't even want to be a god - fighting against Hiroki in the first place. "I. . . Don't you, um, have a reason to fight?"
