Mitsurugi didn't react particularly strongly to the revelation of Kino's nature - she'd met plenty of ghosts, after all. Ah, it was the gardener I was thinking of. I'm surprised I didn't realize it sooner. "I see. So you have suffered some sort of curse, then? Or have you willingly bound yourself to that?" A soul bound to an inanimate object. . . You do not have the time to consider that right now. Mitsurugi attempts to open the crate.
-
"I have heard many long and sad stories over my lifetime, and have lived many myself. Yours won't offend me." The goddess sighed slightly before catching herself. Focus on your exploration. Your help is needed. "Do mind yourself around the wildlife, however; even a wild animal can kill an experienced warrior if they are careless." Mitsurugi heads toward the nearest metal crate.

"I am only 'named after' a god if one can be said to be named after oneself, Saginomiya-san. I had assumed that you could tell by looking, given the aura of magic you give off." She could only guess at the girl's thoughts; likely impertinent ones, but she couldn't be blamed for that. Few humans expected to meet a god in the flesh, even a relatively minor one like Mitsurugi. Well, assuming the girl was actually human. She seemed to be, and at the same time not. Who did she remind her of. . .? "Let us speak and walk." Mitsurugi investigates the grassy path.

"I'm from Greed. This, um, is Wrath. It's not really known for being the friendliest of the Planes. . ." She did wonder something, though. Were they deep in the wilds, then? She didn't see any signs of civilization at all beyond this one; Wrath wasn't the most densely populated of the Planes by a long shot - three guesses why - but there should have been some sort of structures visible other than the ruin they currently occupied.

Hiroki breathed a slight sigh of relief at Chronos's intervention. She held no particular attachment to Argent or anyone here other than possibly Eon - she'd just met them today - but she also didn't exactly advocate child murder. Now that the man was disarmed, she could reply to Dimitri. "Um, yes, I'm Yukimura Hiroki, also known as the Hellfire Knight." She turned her attention back to Chronos, who was apparently a person? creature? called Meta Knight at the moment as well. "Are mechs affected?"

Getting a closer look at the girl, she was more than passing strange. She had a youkai-like aura about her, but didn't seem to be one. . . A magician nearing the cusp of her research? No, that was a simple matter of spellcasting, and magicians had less fear, less subtle menace to them. Still, she didn't seem to be actively hostile, but was worth watching regardless. She would not permit a threat to the humans under her, not so soon after she'd had her own torn away. "I have been called Saigai-no-Kami, but those familiar with me personally know me as Saigai Mitsurugi." She turned to the woman that had apparently called them here to search out an ancient relic for her. Something incredibly powerful, magically, but she didn't seem to have much in the way of malign will. "This device seems to be very important to you. I will lend you my assistance."

I'm glad I don't live in Wrath. . . 'Desolate' was a generous descriptor for Tempest at times - not that Hiroki really knew the difference - but Wrath was particularly unpleasant. "Um, hello, Chronos. . . What are we fighting? If they're, um, resistant to Favor. . ." She couldn't finish the question; it was a thought she loathed. Will I be useless?

Mitsurugi avoided the urge to sigh at the man. Why were human men so fixated on. . . Well, the other one seemed decent enough, but this seemed to be a rather irritating trend among them. Regardless, it seemed there was another individual here to talk to them. What was that? Is that a person? Mitsurugi leaps gracefully into the air, and continues traveling until her flight path meets the stranger's; she catches her as gently as possible and lowers her to the earth safely. "Are you safe?" After recieving an answer, she proceeds into the house after a polite nod, disregarding the woman's rather abrupt manner for the moment. "You said you needed assistance with something?"
-
Chronos? What-? Chronos, the entity responsible for protecting the Planes. And it wanted her to go get people to help protect Tempest? And spoke to her inside her head? Was she really the right choice - of course she was, she was one of the strongest fighters that Tempest had ever seen, but. . . She didn't even know some of the names. Prei? Atton? Still, she supposed she could start with Eon. She gingerly set down what remained of her drumstick, unable to find a trash bin, and headed out toward Eon. "Um. . . A being from my home world, sort of, told me to tell you that it was summoning you and a few others to defend it."
-
"You're not the same kind of being, otherwise you would have probably tried to kill or enslave me on sight, for one. Unless you're manipulating everyone here, which I'm still not convinced of." She silently wished she'd taken the time to learn from a cleric or two; bindings were a lot harder to do on a demon already in the world, since part of it was a sort of deal where the demon agreed to do what you said in exchange for you anchoring it to the material world.
-
Marisa glances behind her, and very nearly jumps out of her skin. Very soon, she's clutching one of her grimoires to her side and has one hand outstretched toward Argent. She maintains this pose for a moment before letting the arm drop, though she still looks rather leery of the half-demon. "Oh, right. There was that demon that wasn't a demon around here. Uh, hi."
-
Mitsurugi steps out of the castle. She breathes deeply of the air outside - fresh air, that she was still enjoying despite the trek. The terrain hadn't particularly bothered her, given her ability to fly and the fact that she tended to be somewhat less impeded by mundane brush than others due to her status as a nature goddess. "I believe this manor is our destination, no?"

The ship rumbled, with the engines groaning audibly but not deafeningly as they had previously, announcing the hodgepodge craft's arrival at their first destination. A familiar voice crackled to life over an unseen intercom. "Cid here. Once this piece of shit stops moving you should be good to walk around. Mostly. None of the nasty stuff from between worlds likes to hang around. Just remember to get back into one of the safe zones before you launch again." It was now time for those going to explore - and possibly save - this world to leave while the rest moved on; the group would be back once their missions were complete. (You are now free to move between zones, or leave on a subplot. However, please only make ONE move.)

Alright, this seems like pretty standard castle fare, big tapestries, decorative armor . . . the room with the glowy magic thing is new though . . . what kind of magic is that, anyway. . . ?" Marisa arrives in the Throne Hall.

Marisa pushed the book toward Edmond over the table, collecting her watch and her gold and storing them in a pocket. "Use your best judgement. Magical artifacts, old technology, rare books, that kind of thing. Or new technology. Either way." She was about to continue, but before she could, a certain interruption took place. Marisa leaves for the Throne Hall.

A ranged strike using magic? I'd planned to only fight with my own sword skills, but applying some of my other abilities may be in order. And that technique. . . I hadn't expected iaijutsu, much less magically enhanced. A strike at the sword arm was necessarily aimed far to one side of your target, and this one was performed from further away from normal; Mitsurugi simply sidestepped it. Before she could deliver her counterstrike, however, the fight was interrupted. I look forward to finishing it later, however; now, though, I will go to explore this new world." Mitsurugi leaves for the Jak and Daxter subplot after hearing Snow's reply.

Edmond seemed reluctant when the welder was brought up. "You don't actually seem to want to part with that, so tell you what; I'll take the watch, and let you have the tome, if you promise you'll have something more interesting to swap down the road. Sound good? I'll be able to track your group down, don't worry. You kind of, uh, stick out. A lot. Giant flying castle and all."

Hiroki just leaned her head against the wood and sighed. Outbursts like this aren't going to help, either. . . She'd wanted to ignore the food, but a certain hollow feeling was beginning to make its presence painfully known. It DEFINITELY won't help if I collapse of hunger. She stood up after a few moments and grabbed one of the drumsticks, mumbling a "thank you" to Halley before retreating into her corner again, doing her best to eat the food without making a mess of her outfit.

Marisa eyed the offer on the table. Surely, the watch would get her the most mileage - clockwork was valuable even if one had magic, simply because it took expertise to produce and worked even if there was some sort of antimagic field present. Though, was this one made of clockwork. . . ? Then there was the gold. Good, hard currency, useful basically anywhere. Not particularly interesting though, and besides, she'd stacked enough cash up over her career to get her by. The welder, though. . . "What does the welder do, exactly? It joins things, judging by the name, but what things exactly? Metal? And how?"
