    "You haven't seen the aftermath of a demon attack before, have you?" She gestures to the fresher wounds and scorch marks on herself. "You also apparently didn't see me doing the same without the benefit of a big steel box." Despite her somewhat confrontational words, she didn't seem to be all that miffed, simply walking back towards where the fire had been. She stretched a bit on the walk over before squatting near it and trying to get it going once again.

    "If you don't want a life story, maybe you shouldn't try to judge it first. The only reason anyone is here is because the gods delight in pissing on mortals for their amusement."

    "You tell me." Tsubasa pulled one arm out of her haori and pulled the underlying uniform aside enough to reveal myriad scars decorating her body even in its currently altered state, mamy of which seemed to be the result of claws and fangs. She returned her clothing to its normal state for a moment before continuing. "I can tell you're awake, by the way. Your breathing technique is terrible."

    "We fought a bunch of monsters and that guy almost died because completing his Arts was more important than not exploding." Tsubasa shrugged. "So yeah, I've had worse." She sheathed her blade, the blue glint flashing for a moment as she turned back to Hikari. "Care to explain that?" She gestured at the fading red mist where the other woman's sword had been.

    The battle rage suffused Mitsurugi's being. She felt alive, truly alive again, fulfilling her purpose at last as she struck down her foes with a righteous fury. Her form blurred as she made yet another strike, cleaving one of the remaining imps in half with a clean, yet unmistakably savage blow. She lifted her sword for another strike. . . then froze. Herald of Destruction. . . The goddess simply stared at the demon in front of her, stuck motionless for a moment, before forcing herself to step backward and sheathe her blades. "The edge. Is it so close now?" she whispered to herself. She could not tell how near she was to losing her nature, which made her all the more afraid.

    Well, it wasn't regenerating the severed tail, and it hadn't shown any particular interest in her, so it probably wasn't a demon. In that case, Tsubasa was more than content to simply live and let live. "Hey, how about we let that thing leave with its dinner and figure the rest out now that all the other monsters around here are dead?" She tried to sound like it was a voluntary thing, but the way her chest was heaving as she gripped her sword indicated the real reason. Tsubasa defends.

    "No, that's not yours!" Heidrun tried not to think about the echoes of sensation coming from the unnatural creature as she cast another spell to remove her enchantment from the thing. "Navin, are you okay?" Reinsa on Mini Meathook 1, removing Binda.

    "N-Navin, that thing is looking at me." Heidrun's voice shook like a leaf in the wind as she searched for cover, spending her turn to avoid the attack.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HXVbBiGk74 LOTUS analyzes Masako's attack patterns and gives her some advice on how she could do the same with less energy expenditure, while Isobel finally gets to apply her expertise in weed control, spraying Sapling B with a pesticide and trying not to feel bad about hurting such a pretty little tree. Reimu continues to channel her spell. Nothing happens as of yet, but eerie-looking magical sigils begin to draw themselves in the air around the group, formed of red energy mottled by twilit hues. Empi decides to patch up Rory for a moment, restoring her to full health. The outer ring of the magical circle flashes, catching those at the edges of the field! IP and Isobel take 15 damage each, and are silenced, unable to use anything but basic attacks! The sinister magic resonates with that of the Saigyou Ayakashi, putting them under its influence once again. Rory leaps at Reimu, guided by Masako's observations! He manages to make contact [7 vs 31] but Reimu is able to redirect him without losing focus, sending him careening into the base of one of the saplings. The thing immediately begins to work its magic on him. Masako defends. UB-65 sends Richter out to scout for her. Yuyuko watches the apparition with mild interest. Hikari invokes generic JRPG power upon Masako to charge up her attacks. Reimu continues to weave her magic, floating above the battlefield while the circle grows in intricacy and power. Walmond counters Reimu's spellwork with her own wave of positive energy, healing IP, Empi, UB-65, Masako, and Hikari for [21] HP. Lambda, meanwhile, creates an opening for Youmu to strike next turn. IP fires her gun at. . . nothing. Reimu has vanished, but her spell is still present! Rory's wyvernstake falls to the ground with a disappointing thump before exploding. Masako drives her weapon into one of the saplings, inflicting [61] damage to it! The top of it is ripped free in a burst of splinters and magic. Reimu gains 5 damage! The influence of the trees weakens, however, and the deathly calm gripping some of the party dissipates. Initiative: Status

    Mitsurugi breathed in, absorbing the magic as if it were simply air. "You have defiled this place of rest for too long already, servants of Yamata-no-Orochi." Despite the fact that they were indoors, the wind seemed to pick up, whipping at Mitsurugi's robes and hair - or perhaps they were the source. Menacing thunder rumbled as Mitsurugi lifted one arm into the air. "As guardian of this land, I pass my judgement upon you! Your existence is forfeit!" This last word was punctuated by a burst of energy that arced towards their foes, streaking towards them with the vicious beauty of lightning itself. She followed the strike up with a savage slash at the fleeing Green Imp, the goddess's form blurring as her blade sung. Delay turn until after Lexiel Storm Sign for 1d4+DEX+15 damage to all enemies within 5 initiative of the target, focused on the Black Imp! She attacks the Green Imp with her Blade of the Phantom Moon, benefiting from Daisho and Cursed, for (5d6+DEX+4SYN/5 (11)+30)*1.2 damage!

    Tsubasa was getting winded. She could feel the burning in her muscles creeping up on her, but she had to banish the creature in front of her first. She was also consciously thinking about that, which was a bad sign by itself. The demon slayer gripped her sword with both hands, and made another leaping cut at the beast before them. Attack Bazelgeuse with Nichirin Sword for 4d6+14 damage. Yin: 1->2 Yang: 7 Breath: 3/14

    "Are we done with the stage show yet?" Korinna grumbled irritably. This is why she was better off working alone, but now she had no choice. Not that the last time she'd worked in a group had gone well, either, and she'd even had the luxury of picking her teammates (more or less.) Their glorious leader would play music and kick down doors just because he thought it looked cool, and now they were arguing back and forth. She would have said something about dying if it were a different circumstance; as it was, her prospects for getting out of this hole and getting her revenge weren't looking so good.

    Heidrun's desires to vomit and scream fortunately interfered with one another enough that neither one of them actually happened as the. . . thing revealed itself. She scrambled backward as she looked up at it in abject horror, mouth working soundlessly as she tried to get out a proper response to it and failed, at least until she was able to get a proper physical balance. "That- it- it ate the Lifestream in the area. It's j-just gone. W-We need to destroy it if we can!" She could feel the other stirring at this affront; it might have been outside that one's purpose, but it was close enough to rouse her. Please, no, not now, you need to stay now more than ever! She took a deep breath to focus herself - a mistake, as it only meant the fetid air filling her lungs. She coughed before calling out to Solomon and Navin. "I'm going to cast a charm that w-will help us, but it might feel a bit strange!" And indeed it was likely strange. They only seemed to show out of the corner of the eye, but ethereal cords appeared to bind the three together. Each target of the spell began to feel faint echoes of what the others were feeling, both physically and mentally - and perhaps more disconcertingly, it was difficult to tell which sensations came from where. Binda on Heidrun, Solomon, Navin, combining their health pools into one!

    Korinna closed her eyes and took a deep, deep breath. She needed this chance - it's not like opportunities to escape from the underworld came up often and she somehow doubted any of her own compatriots would be coming for her - but just getting along with this kid was going to be a trial in and of itself. Eventually, she worked up the ability to reply with something other than outright hostility. "I'll work with you. But no more backflips. Please."

    "Why would I have any love for the gods? All they've ever done is throw trials at my feet and spit in my face." It almost looked like the woman was going to do the same to accentuate her point, but she refrained. "Spiteful, capricious, and petty, that's what they are."

    "Easy to say for the one not in chains. 'Course, being impatient for this to be over with assumes this isn't another form of torment by the gods." The tall figure leaning against one wall spoke, irritation showing in her face and voice. "It'd be just like them."

    While the various party members go about casting supportive spells and giving one another advice and assistance for surviving the continuing onslaught, Masako pulls together her case. She delivers a dizzying series of blows to Reimu, sending the shrine maiden reeling into the air - though even in her current state, she ducked and wove through the majority of the danmaku the tengu flung in her direction. She flipped end over end a few times before she stabilized herself abruptly, stopping with a glare straight at the offender. "Look at what Gensokyo does, and then look at what I do. Tell me who's been uncharitable." UB-65, meanwhile, is not to be outdone. Right after one of the beasts falls to the ground almost peacefully as a result of Yuyuko's power, she fires off her own attack. It lands, and not much is particularly clear about what occurs after this, save that the shadow beasts seem to have all been efficiently converted to spinning black particles and vapor. Rory, seeing all of these impressive displays, elects to punch himself in the face. Reimu casts Nightmare Sign: Dream-Sealing Circle, and sets a Condition which activates Fantasy Nature if she would take 50 or more damage that lasts 3 turns. The spell deals 8 damage to all party members. Initiative: Status

    Heidrun gasped faintly at the reveal of the tunnel's occupant. She could have been part of the gang, of course, but Heidrun had no real way to tell. "Are you okay? Have you been hurt?" She shuffled closer, bending over and extending a hand towards the woman. "W-We aren't here to hurt you, I promise." The healer glanced sideways at Navin (and to a lesser extent, Solomon.) "If you're injured, I can help you." She made an effort to move slowly and nonthreateningly; the woman was likely not convinced that being found by these strangers was a good thing. It was something she could understand, especially in a city like this one.

    Creepy as hell, that's what this place was. She had no issues with androids, except for the fact that they would end up in places like this, being treated as they were. She personally held the view that everyone was circuits and screwy programming, just that most of 'em were mostly made of meat instead of metal. Not to mention the more primal feeling of seeing close-to-human things in pieces or apparently dead. Still, she'd seen worse, and she had more important things to do than ponder the morality of simply leaving this warehouse alone or doing business with its denizens. Instead, she walked up to Harold, and unceremoniously sat him down and began applying nanites. "I'm already getting sick of this. They could have at least given me some damned sutures to work with. . ." Spend 4 minutes remedying Harold, then Jack Spend 2 minutes healing Jack Spend a minute examining the stock
