  1. Haruki tilted his head at the display. He'd been interested in Aqui's control over his own Lumen - of course he would have a lot of control, he'd literally been doing it longer than everyone else) - but now this guy thought he was uh, what was that one mascot guy called? It didn't matter, but it was really silly nonetheless. The androgynous boy nonchalantly raised a hand, largely ignoring the nonsense going on in front of him. "Um, Aqui, what are all the other Coreators up to right now, anyway? I was kinda hoping to meet a bunch of you guys because you're all cool but at the same time some of the stuff you do is kinda boring so I wanted to see for myself."
  2. It mostly matters for the purpose of other characters. It's to prevent stuff like "well X has Y so why can't Z have Y" and such, if you get what I mean.
  3. hokay, here goes nothing: Alexandria: please please please please stop sneaking buffs into your perks without me telling you to. You made your flaw give an immunity, what? Remove that and the bonus HP from Mechanical as well; I said you could put that on Hard Reset. Add a cooldown to Plasma Cannon and reduce the damage scaling to something in the area of 1d6+INT and add a little INT scaling or ONE extra die per level. AoE is really strong. I know I changed my mind, and I apologize, but AoE is really tough to balance. Visrii: First Sin is still pretty weaksauce for a flaw. It needs to actually be impactful in some way; you can literally just change targets around before landing a finisher and never have to worry about this. The penalty is also pretty weak for when it does go off. Sharp Sweep is a bit strong at the moment. Look at Hiroki's Melt to see how your RES-bypassing actions should compare. Profaned Storm's damage is too high. Try flat SYN to start. Your level 2 upgrade to Scathing Remarks does a bit much. Drop the self-buff on it, reduce the additional damage bonus to 20%. It that Embraces: After a bit more consideration, I'd like to see a nerf on Self-Sacrificing Shield. Add a cooldown to it and pick either defending a single ally or intercepting a single enemy for now. Speaking of flaws, a note to everyone with an INIT-affecting flaw: I'll be taking a second look at them at some point and probably making them more impactful than most currently are.
  4. "Um, the edgy wind sword guy asked Aqui a stupid question and the boring fire girl called him out of it. It's actually kind of funny but I want to talk to Aqui too; I could ask him so many questions! Like if he's seen Nahta the Fox lately, I always kind of wondered where she went. I'm just hoping that fire girl doesn't try to set anything on fire because then she might die." Haruki could be. . . quite blunt, at times. He didn't seem to notice it himself, nattering on like he always did. "I'll try to be nice and wait until he answers the other questions though because talking over people is boring and never gets anything done anyway, like these kids I had in my class this one time. . ." Somewhat ironically, he continued down a vague, rather disconnected tale that started with said classmates, meandered past an inattentive teacher and one time a hall monitor broke their nose falling over, and slid around the topic of his home life briefly before veering off on another tangent. It didn't appear that he actually expected anyone to listen to him . . .
  5. Hoshiko looked at the battlefield with a slightly miffed expression. There was no way to close the distance enough to get within shooting range without exposing herself to the misuse of the Goddess's divinely gifted magic. . . She took a deep breath or two, then stepped toward the rest of the group, keeping an arrow ready on her string in case an enemy approached. H14, overwatch
  6. i'm sorry i didn;t review everything today, btw, plans got a little crazy. I'll try to get to it tomorrow. In the meantime, we're still waiting on some posts in the IC, so :V EDIT: notes on Visrii: You can't have DEX as a minimum stat on a weapon, for the nth time. STR or SYN only. Please scale it off of one stat only; this is mostly an ease-of-GM thing. Melee range is also very ill-defined in this system, so that bonus effect won't work. Tenacious should be a scaling boost of some sort. I'm thinking 50% boosts; it's in line with the other conditional boosters, roughly. Defiant looks okay, though it might be slightly weak. When I make enemies, I generally don't scale them entirely according to the leveling system or mix together enemy levels; other GMs may do things differently. First Sin needs to be a loooot more significant. Hiroki has a Flaw of the same kind (vs. mental assaults) that causes disadvantage against ALL mental ailments and attacks regardless of her current HP. Specify whether Sharp Sweep bypasses RES or not. If it does, you can add extra scaling to it. NOOOOO friendly fire. AoE should also be a bit weaker damagewise; look at Hiroki's Curtain Fire to give you an idea (though that might get nerfed here, depending.) Taunt's infinite duration is questionable. I'd also like to see it as a flat damage boost for simplicity's sake. Plus, could you change the name? "Taunt" refers to effects that direct aggro to the user already, naming an entirely different effect that is going to be confusing as hell. Oh, and it looks like he's missing a point of STR from his Perk. Twei: It that Embraces looks okay. I might take a second or third look at her taunt later, though. To be totally honest I'm still trying to hammer out how to balance taunts and AoE. Ragnar: Specter's Mark should probably scale off of a stat. Keep it weak, though, since it's a free action. Zoe_Walker: To contradict what Empiricist said a bit, if you have a Flaw restricting your character's healing, I will restrict your between-encounter healing as I deem necessary. For example, it's unlikely that a character would have time to be repaired between now and the next combat, so I'd only allow you to gain HP equal to the average heal or so. Looking at it again, buff your Sapient Machine bit to make it give status immunities that would logically make sense (so she can't be poisoned and such.) This brings it in line with similar perks. Hard Reset may need a slight buff as well. If you're going for durability, you could add a small bonus to HP gained per level or something to ward off injury like It that Embraces. I'm still kind of iffy on the persistent shield bit, but it's much better than before. Tentatively accepting it for now. Your taunt can be automatic, but shouldn't be persistent. You can scale up duration OR targets per level, though. Plasma Cannon might still be a bit strong, but I'll accept it for now. Though, be aware that it does paint her as an obvious target for debuffs that would disrupt its activation. As for your Reinhardt sheet, I would keep it around. In fact, for anyone else that wants to make a sheet for a canon character: feel free to do so. You can't use them as your main PC (exceptions will be made for certain characters, mostly ones that are highly customizable) but they'll be helpful if anyone wants to run a plot in that world. Have I missed anything?
  7. if you're only fighting one enemy it'll be a boss and i'll have designed the encounter with easy cheese strats like that in mind
  8. the main issue was the fact that the shield persisted across turns with alexandria, though I'll take a second look at ite
  9. Haruki skittered into the auditorium. He might have slept well, or not at all - either way he looked as energetic as ever. Today he'd elected for a combination of bright green hair and blue eyes, both of which caught the light that hit them ever so slightly. He seemed to be looking for someone to begin his verbal barrage at as he skipped into the building and searched for a suitable seat.
  10. i haven't really reviewed that character yet so i'm sort of struggling to exist right now but i'll get to it at some point tomorrow or (less likely) later tonight
    1. Tacos

      Tacos

Welcome to America, where the old white people who rule think their religion is more important than basic human rights.

    2. Alistair

      Alistair

Religion and law are like hydrochloric acid and sodium. May be alright when kept apart but better not mix them.

  11. that's a weird way to spell mami OT: 3/10 too small
  12. I'm interpreting it as "disables non-basic actions." So it's not a full stun, and rest assured plenty of things are going to hurt you regardless of whether they're silenced or not.
  13. Ragnar: Silent Predator is more of a perk, and there's going to be enough times where "night" is ambiguous enough that I'm noping this. I'm wondering why his t-shirt is bound. It's not an actual issue, but be aware that bound is more negative than positive, and also represents equipment that it's normally impossible to remove. Take the RES subtraction off of your critical strike perk. I am not a huge fan of his guardian angel perk, but as of right now it looks passable. . . Put a bound on the number of times it can proc per turn. Everything else on the sheet looks OK, though I'd prefer your basic defense was more standard. Noir: I'm seeing a lot of bonuses stacked, but they're not multiplicative, so they look okay for now. You're good to go; you'll be worked in after this encounter. Zoe_Walker: Much better. I'd prefer that your equipment didn't grant Actions, though. HL barrier scales a bit too well. It needs to have some sort of further limitations on it; 50% persistent damage cut on multiple allies is -really- strong. Attract Attention can be buffed in one of two ways: you can remove the opposed check and just have it work, or keep the opposed check and have the number of enemies targeted at once scale up. Plasma Cannon can just be an AoE. With that much windup and backswing you can buff the damage a bit, but please don't put friendly fire onto your sheet. Zetaark: Already discussed. He's in next time characters are introduced.
  14. Bridgett recovers from her stun, and cannot be stunned next round. Theodore resonates with the Shadow Beasts, inflicting [2] damage to each, before the pattern collapses. He sends a reverberating burst at Shadow Beast A for [6] damage. Shadow Beasts A and C angrily rake their limbs at Heo for [6] and [8] damage for a total of 14. Hikari recovers from her stun. Edmond welds Shadow Beast A for [0] damage. The next attack will deal [11] extra damage. A strange "shoop" sound follows Pluck's horn-blowing. Shadow Beasts E and C have now become one larger, angrier Shadow Monster that will take the place of E on the initiative ladder. Sachi draws the monster's attention. It's unable to resist the challenge of a Hero. Kagari recovers from her stun. Solomon puts Fire Emblem mages to shame with his impractical usage of books, dealing [5] damage to Shadow Beast D. Jade recovers from his stun. Aurora shoots a healing beam at Hiroki, fully healing her and allowing her to act this turn. Katsuo recovers from his stun. Shadow Monster throws itself at Sachi. It knocks her over. . . but she quickly reasserts herself none the worse for wear except for taking [4] damage. Heo punches at the newly formed Shadow Monster for [17] damage, and follows up with a spinning blade strike for [13] damage. Hiroki fires another fierce beam of plasma from her main cannon at the Shadow Monster for [24] damage. Hikari follows up for [1] damage with a glancing blow. Magna's reanimated Shadow Beast slashes at Shadow Beast A for [13] damage. She brings her symbolic, but decidedly impractical weapon down on Shadow Beast F for [5] damage. Snow focuses on not getting hit for the round. Shadow Beast F takes a swing at Jade, [3] but he stumbles out of the way. Shadow Beast D does the same. [66] It's a bit more lucky, landing a strike on the elusive gunslinger for [7] damage. Hikari's spells fade. Enemy Status: Ally Status: Initiative:
  15. psure i've rated it before so i'll rate it an e(pi)/10
  16. i'll do a more thorough review of it later, probably at some point tomorrow after work and/or class once i get the next turn out. It looked mostly okay from what I saw, though.
