  1. ...I should mention that you're not actually being brought back from the dead. To quote myself: It's literally "you fall into a plot-shaped portal and end up where the multiverse wanted you" aurora notes: already went over most of the equipment and perks on Discord. Spydric Sweep can have some kind of additional effect because it's quite weak right now. You can probably make her venom an addition to a basic attack as well, or some approximation thereof. Complexity 5 (damage type tracking+regen tracking+cooldown tracking+DoT tracking+base from damage rolls) bridgett: Valkyrie Breaker probably wants to scale off of SYN a bit. Advise dropping one die and adding SYN to the damage, but this isn't required. It's also worth noting that this system doesn't track position particularly firmly. Good to go otherwise, I'll say (ammo tracking+multiattacks+cooldowns+dodge+specific damage type tracking) 6 complexity.
  2. alright, my notes now: -Comet Blaster is now a bit weak. I'd say a d8 is probably okay. -However, you can't have a SYN bonus that boosts your SYN (it can just boost damage inflicted, though). You also don't unlock stuff with DEX, hence that spot being specifically labeled with SYN. Same story with minimum stats; the only minimums gear can have are STR and SYN. -Damage economy on Sparkling Strike still scales a bit too well. The initial levels are fine, but the third level is a bit too quick of an increase. Overall, AoE should hit for roughly 20-40% less than single target damage. -Takedown looks okay. If you're boosting the damage you can change it to 1.5STR or something like that instead of boosting damage by 1. Magna i've already gone over on Discord. She's accepted. Reviewing Bridgett now. . . Equipment: Base RES is a bit high on the jacket; it's not really heavy enough to warrant starting at +4. Since it does scale with level, starting at +2 is appropriate. Weapon looks OK. Perks: Cartridge system looks fine. Flight needs a concrete mechanical effect; I'm thinking either damage reduction/dodge vs melee and/or a strong initiative boost. Actions: You don't need to spend AP to get a ranged basic attack if your weapon does that already. Everything else looks fine, actually. I'll give you a complexity of (1 for ammo tracking+1 for cooldown tracking+1 for multiattacks) = 3 (fukken nice.)
  3. Kagarin's accepted. Complexity 6 @S34N1C: Basic Attacks need to just be Basic. Just damage. Same with Basic Defense, they're intended to be super simple effects. INT can't be a minimum stat. Otherwise, Theodore looks OK. Complexity 3 (thank you.) EDIT: Jade looks ok. Complexity 8, largely due to ammo and status tracking.
  4. Luka's dance was greeted by a twirl and a pose from Hoshiko herself. "Goddess's blessings on you, Luka!" The archer took a few confident strides out of the woods, then snapped off another shot at another foolish pegasus rider. J11, see if we can't keep the streak going on that pegasus
  5. hokay Solomon: eeh, self-inserts. Not generally a fan. But whatever. You goofed up your health formula; it's 30 + (your level)*(your level+your CON) so it should be 32. Equipment looks ok, if slightly weak; light armor that only gives +2 RES doesn't need penalties attached. Your perks look fine. Onto your actions, your Basic Defense needs to be one that reduces damage. You -can- take a counterattack, but not as a Basic. Your other Actions can probably use a buff; they're all a bit weak. Arcane Blast could have a 2 or 1 turn cooldown by default. Maniacal Laugh and Mark Target can be quite a bit stronger at base, since they're granted by a Perk; they're also free, meaning they don't cost AP to create (though you do need to use AP to level them.) Complexity 3. Jasper: Cryo Rounds don't need a limited duration. They can just reduce init. Desert Born should work the same way, though I'd like a Flaw to come up slightly more often. . . Aim to Cripple should specifically inflict a status of some kind; the system doesn't track movement well (though I thought about using a "soft" position system like the one in Magical Burst) so it should probably disable melee or something. The game has no innate miss chances, so the note about rolling hit for each attack on fanning is unnecessary. You don't need to burn an action on reloading; say that it's a negative special quality of the weapon (I'll put this in the errata.) Looks like you're missing a bit of AP as well. Giving you a Complexity of 6. Halley: Justice's Pursuit is quite strong. I'm slightly leery of it for the moment, but for now it passes. Justice's Veil is okay, if not weak, since a dodge at the same chance nulls 100% of damage if it goes off (though attacks can be auto-hit.) Your blaster should have higher penalties if it's going to be so good. Can't be forcibly unequipped AND upgradeable AND starts at 2d6 damage? Same story with Nanometal Jumpsuit and Flashy Ribbons; they're a little much for having such low penalties. Damage scaling is totally out of control on Sparkling Strike; AoE should do overall less damage than a single target attack of equivalent level and your level scaling on it is too high. Reduce the damage formula and set a minimum number of targets. Takedown looks alright, though it should be just a stun and enemies should be able to resist it (make it STR vs CON or similar.) Specify what the blinding effect is on Supercharge and maybe increase its cooldown a bit. Complexity of 7.
  6. A companion is one summon that your character is reliant upon and is typically not changeable. (The two main examples of this in the previous game were Stands, and Gozer, who was a permanent ally of Dackly, a PC, where the two were basically a dual character.) A minion is something that you have multiple of. Basically, detail out a rough plan in your sheet of what you want to do, and I'll work through it with you. Considerations to be taken into account with summons are things like: Action economy; that is, the number of actions a single character takes in a turn. This is very powerful and the main consideration. Efficiency; are you getting too much bang for your proverbial buck? Basically, are you putting more stats on the board than other people really can? Autonomy; tied into action economy, do the summons act independently? How does controlling them work if they don't? The more they need to be directly controlled, the stronger they can be.
  7. Yup. The last version had multiple character slots, even, so those might open up eventually. Edit: Adding an errata. The Bound quality is free. Bound: This equipment is bound to this character's abilities in some way. It cannot be permanently lost, but cannot be upgraded outside of special circumstances.
  8. Oh, as a note, feel free to come up with a "class" for your character. It can be a short title or description of what they do. It's not for any actual purpose; the game has no class system. Just for fun and glance value. EXAMPLE CHARACTER/my PC: Yukimura Hiroki, Hellfire Knight

  11. ey i started a new rp, go look

  12. Hoshiko was determined, now, her fire starting to come back. "Do you see what happens when you face the chosen hero of the goddess herself? And daring to ascend into the heavens before her, at that? Your arrogance will be your downfall! HIYAH!" She rolled acrobatically through the trees, past the soldier that Terrin had just fried with a bolt of lightning. She popped up and loosed an arrow at the pegasus rider nearby, arrow popping out from between the trees and hurtling toward her. H10, shoot down the mortal that dares to face the hero of the goddess while in the heavens
  13. You can go fixed damage or scale it at (Level/2)d4 or so damage. EDIT: Heo: I'd like to see a bit of a nerf on his overall damage scaling; he can nova pretty damn hard at basically any time if he doesn't miss. Nerf the damage on the additional hits from each one, imo. He's also got a little Idou syndrome going already; watch that as you gain levels. His complexity rating is: (1 from overall miss chance+1 from dynamic modifier+4 from a large number of extra rolls per action)=6. Another note: Characters from other games are not only allowed, but recommended. Remember Fate/Reborn? A lot like that, if you were around for it. EDIT 2 BECAUSE THERE HAVEN'T BEEN ANY MORE REPLIES :V: I've realized there is no innate crit system detailed in the rules - mostly because I forgot it, lol. So my thoughts were this: 1. We could do without a crit system entirely. This would speed up combat and simplify things a bit. (This system can be quite slow to run.) 2. Crit could be tied to weapons. Weapons with high crit would have other tradeoffs, like high penalties or low base damage. 3. We could do the old version and just have a 5% global critical chance.
  14. Hotel Group "If you don't mind, I would also like to attend the student meeting - in the guise of one of the young academics attending, of course." He searched Haze for any signs of reaction to him; was he offput like many by the gap between his appearance and demeanor? Was he suspicious of the group as a whole? Could they trust Haze, for that matter?
  15. Please mark sheets WIP if they're not complete, so I know not to bother parsing them. If I don't comment on something, it's probably OK. Theodore: While fluff bonuses are alright, in this case you're wasting a perk slot. Interdimensional communication is going to be a thing that is available once the party actually splits, and this kind of thing can be pretty much folded into "things you assume a character can do." The RP section of the sheet could use a bit of work as well. The same thoughts on your perks apply to your actions; you need stuff you do mechanically. "Attempt to destroy objects" should be some sort of check; SYN, maybe, vs a difficulty set by the GM. (This game runs on a d20 system by default, btw.) Pluck: I'm still somewhat hesitant on the separation thing, but I'll tentatively accept the sheet. Your complexity is approximately 6, for being simple mechanically but requiring a fair amount of GM fiat to run. Edmond: Gambit is interesting. Specify that it's 25% of MHP. Charisma is weird thematically and a bit strong when compared with a flat RES bonus, but it wouldn't apply to equipment... I'll say it's (Level/2)d4, rounded up. Arc welder is kinda strange; it doesn't actually deal damage? Plus needing SYN to operate a piece of machinery is a little odd. Kevlar vest can just be a flat +2 res with no stat penalties. Hesitant acceptance of Analyze. I don't like Tactical Retreat outright nulling all damage, even at such a high cost (as worded, it requires two turns; this turn and the next.) Consider reworking it to lesser bonuses and penalties. You also need to spend the rest of your AP (or specify that you're banking it at least.) Your complexity is: (1 from Charisma+1 from bonus actions+2 from buff tracking) = 4.
  16. "Ooooh, let's go high! I'm not scared of heights at all, I used to climb stuff all the time! Until my leg got hurt, that was boring." Despite the mention of the injury, it didn't seem to slow Haruki down in the slightest as he just sort of bounded about with no clear goal in mind. "Did you ever get hurt? I bet it was super boring too, just like math homework. Ugh, math homework is terrible, I mean, I'm good at it, but it's terrible, it never matters to anything in real life, does it? Unless you're designing stuff I guess but they never tell you what it's for!"

  18. A reboot of the game Trespassers of the Multiverse on bay12. This thread is now defunct. Please go to the thread on bay12 if you are interested. There exists an untold number of universes, each with its own friendships, wars, gods, and demons. Each one with countless stories to tell. More are generated every instant, as new possibilities unfold and new minds are born with new ideas in a fractal expansion. However, one of these many expansions went terribly, horribly wrong. Horrific monstrosities, barely having a true form and defying all common or uncommon logic in description, were born in the gap between worlds. They ached to fill the gaping void within themselves with true existence, and so they fell upon the myriad worlds, devouring all that they ran across, some assuming the forms of familiar foes turned alien and some forcing their way into the hearts and minds of the people responsible for protecting the worlds they lived in. The multiverse has held its own for eternities. These incursions are met by bands of heroes or chosen individuals with the strength of mind and arm to defeat them, wherever they appear. However, the war is turning. More and more worlds are falling to the beasts - called Trespassers for their lack of belonging - and their closest things to lords or kings have begun appearing - Pure Trespassers, raw destructive, consuming essence with a hatred for existence itself. So the multiverse is fighting back. You have been chosen, lifted from your home universe, to fight these foes wherever they appear. Are you prepared to accept this mantle of duty, strong enough to fight to save every existence? System/Character Sheet Bare Character Sheet, for convenience Rule Notes and Errata Guidelines for Characters FAQ Rules: All global forum rules apply. Respect all other players, and the GM. Try to avoid making your character a Mary Sue. The greater subforum has some guidelines for what this term means, if you do not know. Avoid "l0l so rAndUm" characters or outright evil/sociopathic ones. If they don't have a reason to work with the party to save the multiverse, they don't belong in this game. Bunnying - controlling another character without their consent - is strictly forbidden. Player killing is also generally forbidden. This isn't an arena game. Keep mentions of sex and violence within reasonable moral and legal bounds. Explicit depictions are against the rules, after all. If you must, learn the fine art of the fade-to-black. Posts should be two or three sentences minimum, with decent grammar and spelling. This isn't a hard and fast rule, but do avoid consistently terse posts. If you're having trouble, ask for help. In keeping with the above, avoid bullet-posting - making rapid, usually short, posts in a short amount of time, unless your character is in a one-on-one situation. Doing this makes it difficult for other players to keep up; the players are scattered across numerous timezones and areas of availability. If there is an ongoing interaction between two players, please ask before inserting your character, in keeping with Rule 2 on this list. I reserve the right to add more rules as-needed. 19. It's almost like ridiculously long mid-battle conversations happen all the time in the games or something.
  20. Already rated as well. I'm not seeing the distortion mentioned; it looks pretty normal to me.
  21. 8/10 it looks quite nice, actually.
