  1. "Right then. Shall we be off?" Gabriel would start into the city as soon as Jorgen agreed, noting landmarks and searching for a suitable place to stay, separate from wherever the group meeting place was being set. It would be no good to be constantly in the secure location, after all. He also looked for signs and such pointing them to where this gathering was placed, peering out from beneath his cloak and parasol at the buildings. Passers-by did not escape inspection, either; he tried to note anyone who looked uncomfortable or otherwise conspicuous, though he doubted the killer would be so unprofessional as that.
  2. Hiroki - Attend Black Idol's Concert The competitor known as Hellfire Knight was once again in her full disguise, though lately she had been reconsidering it. . . Maybe I should listen to Kagari. She waited, pondering maneuvers and strategies, until they were allowed to freely move, then headed in the direction of the concert. What was that, anyway? Jumping out of his mech, and then. . . ugh. I won't forgive this! It's too bad I probably won't fight him again, kicking his butt once wasn't enough!
  3. "I plan on posing as a student and trying to gather information from the killer's potential targets - or, failing that, seeing if I can lure them out. The killer is likely to target either a human or a demon; either species is likely to cause hostilities to flare should one of them turn up mysteriously dead. Unfortunately I do not have an alias that would set me up as an important target, but the chance is there." He glanced about at Bargus and Karol. "Jorgen here has an excuse to lurk about the gathering in the role of my 'father.' I recommend you two find something to allow you do to the same." He returns his pale crimson gaze to Jorgen. "Now. You are Jorgen Ardelean, and I am, of course, your son, Gabriel. You are quite proud, and quite protective, of your son, who is such a prodigy of academics - which is, of course, while we are here. If anyone asks why you look the way you do, you can likely tell them the truth." He takes a breath before continuing. "If they inquire about anything off about my appearance or habits, simply state that I am a sickly child, and say that the unusual physical features come from Mrs. Ardelean - or yourself. Does this sound satisfactory and acceptable?"
  4. Gabriel approached Jorgen from behind, clad in a hooded traveling cloak and carrying a parasol to boot. He sighed, then asked the large cyborg a question. "Typically, when I am to fulfill an assignment of significant duration, I have compatriots that pose as my parents or some other guardian figure. As the others seem to have wandered off, I would request that you fulfill this role, at least until we can gather this team into one place."
  5. Hm. To keep cover, Gabriel probably would have asked a person or two to pretend to be his parents. Any volunteers?
  6. ps, intsys, he didn't actually say anything about medicine, that was his thoughts
  7. Gabriel frowned. Surely, she was here a moment ago, no? He shook his head. It doesn't matter. I will have time enough to discover more about this 'Bom.' He returned his attention to the matter at hand after filing that topic away for later mentally. "Given that this is to be a gathering of scholars, I have an idea or two. As you say, finding the killer will require a light touch, and some of those gathered here are. . . not particularly talented in such areas. However, we will likely have a number of important targets to safeguard; at minimum, we can task the less subtle members of our party with their protection while the others perform the actual investigation." As Gabriel spoke, his hand drifted upwards toward his mouth unconsciously, to distract from the small fangs that may have been visible if anyone happened to be paying attention. "Alternatively, or perhaps additionally, I could pose as a student, acting as both investigator and bodyguard while blending with the crowd. And, if the killer happens to select me as a target, I should be able to take them by surprise and eliminate them before they escape." I would also have the chance to speak with these experts on the topics of magic and medicine, he added silently.
  8. "I have no issues with this," Gabriel said simply, just a hint of veiled irritation in his voice. You would think that the man would take me seriously, given my history with the alliance. Still, it's not as if this isn't a maddeningly common occurrence... even if it's instrumental to my 'success,' I will always hate it.
  9. Gabriel nodded, glad that things seemed to have moved on - though he was still somewhat irritable at not being taken seriously, even if it was expected. I suppose that's why I'm here. I'll have a knife in your back and you'll never expect it. . . He nearly imperceptibly shakes his head at the thought. "Of course. I am familiar with such work, after all. Though, I must ask. . . why bring professional soldiers to such a mission as well?" He gestures with one hand forward, palm up. "If this is to be gathering intel on a target and then silently dispatching them, surely bringing someone specialized in direct combat will only serve to drive our prey into hiding." It was almost unnerving, hearing and seeing what looked like a child speaking of such matters with such familiarity.
  10. ^^that. Gabriel is just suspicious because he recognizes the name and has a connection to demonic forces, he isn't going "yep she's a demon."
  11. Hoshiko lets out a pained cry at the strike of the axe, before cutting it off with gritted teeth. "Tch. . . You may have injured my body, but my spirit is undeterred. Surrender to us now and the hammer of justice shall not fall upon your head this day!"
  12. "Only a villain kills solely for his pay. And no villain can stand up to my SOARING ARROWS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS!" She takes up a position, sticks her tongue out slightly as she nocks and draws an arrow, then looses with another shout. MOVE TO G9 SHOOT YE AXEDUDE
  13. I think Supernova went down first, so Mommo wins.
  14. pardon me if i'm not consistently staying in one tense, i've been RPing on another site where present tense is the norm
  15. "Despite my appearance, I am not a child, so please do not refer to me or act toward me as such." His tone was mostly firm rather than hostile, though one experienced with the mannerisms and courtesies of the nobility would recognize an incredibly irritable lordling when they saw one. After making his comments, he takes a few steps backward, ensuring he's out of Vermillio's reach for the moment, and settles against a wall once again, resuming his study of Bom once again. Though, this time, he attempts to be a bit more subtle about it rather than essentially staring at the woman. He also unconsciously rubbed his arm where he had been pinched; a canny observer would have also noted that his pale skin was entirely unblemished, despite a small mark having been there before.
  16. stressing out a vampire while simultaneously drawing him into physical contact genius
  17. "Please do not refer to me as 'little Gabriel,' if you could-" The rest of his speech is cut off by a startled yelp as the demon folded his wings about the half-elf. By the gods above and below...! He then made a wheezing noise as Jorgen folded him into a second hug. "Please, please let me go." I should take a bite out of him, just a bit, then he'd stay back, heheheh,. . . No. No no no. He placed his hands on the two men and pushed himself back. Contrary to his appearance, his touch would have felt something like iron pressing against the two. Once he freed himself, he patted at his clothes a bit as if they had become dusty. "If you'll pardon me, I don't drink. And if you could keep sudden contact like that to a minimum, that would be ideal.
  18. The young-looking half-elf nodded at Jorgen's words. However, Gabriel's increasing displeasure was too much for even his practiced facade of calm, with a deep frown making its home on his face as he listened to the introductions. More demons, another night horror. . . and this 'Bom.' Why does a seemingly normal woman refer to herself with such a name? The lore I've read. . . why christen yourself with the name of some demon god? And why does she seem so. . . off? Like she's emitting some sort of sound, just on the edge of hearing. . . At least I am not entirely surrounded by monsters. "I am sure you would not be here if you couldn't manage yourself," the vampire replied to Lucille, giving a significant look to each of the others in the room before returning his gaze to the one who would call herself a god. He said nothing to her, but studied her despite the unease he felt.
  19. Tomorrow will be Special, Yesterday was Not

    1. Tartar

      Tartar

      Naturally logic dictates thus:

If yesterday was nothing special, and today was neither, then tomorrow must surely be exceptional indeed?
