  1. Dexter and Seth The airborne serpent made a strange noise, almost like metal striking cleanly on metal, as a white beam lanced out from its maw. The creature dove toward Seth - and was struck with a paralytic current, halting its assault and allowing the incoming storm of organic blades to continue mostly unabated, shredding the thing and dissolving it into mist. The remaining beast, however, allowed gravity to assist it, tucking its wings in and diving at high speed to avoid the attacks snapping after it like wolves. It pulled up right before it hit the ground, wings flattening out as it rushed directly at Seth at a dangerous velocity. Stefan and Adero "I've unlocked your inner potential," the ferret referred to as Arch said. "Sorry if that hurt. It's different for everyone. Guess you guys were unlucky; I remember this one girl, she. . . Actually, forget that. Basically you can use magic now. This is another thing that's different for everyone, at least doing it right, but a good way to start is to sort of picture yourself as a mage, and then concentrate really hard on that picture." Ryuu's expression and tone were apologetic.
  2. Hiroki shoots a glance at the stranger from under her hood, and then hurriedly returns to her food. Please leave me alone, please leave me alone, please leave me alone, she repeated to herself mentally. She wondered why the man was simply ignoring her; she fully expected some sort of interrogation from him, particularly since her outfit looked even more out of place now that they had left Sloth.
  3. Arturia was quiet for a moment. "I see. . . Wow, I was kind of hoping I'd just hit my head or something and we really were in the library." She took a deep breath, still half-expecting that pain to come stabbing back. "Shit," she sighed. "Okay. I think I'm okay. Let's go." This still feels like a dream. . . a really fucked up dream, but still a dream. She glanced downward at the pile of books. That's. . . that's gonna be a pool of my own blood. Yep. That's fucking fantastic. Good thing I'm not one of those types that faints when they see blood.
  4. [10:33:57] Pineapple the Blue: can never cure the dong
  5. Hellfire Knight - Visit the food car Hiroki's brief burst of confidence from her easy victory earlier had mostly evaporated by the time they had been herded to the train; it didn't help that she was wearing an outfit that was both uncomfortable and difficult to move in. She tried not to gawk at the vehicle despite its luxuriousness, and felt that she mostly succeeded, in no small part due to the disguise making it difficult to really appreciate. Her stomach groaned, however; today had been stressful and she had eaten light, so once they were free to move about, she shuffled her way over to the food car and ordered a light meal.
  6. Yeah, an aimed attack like that wouldn't be autohit. In Trespassers the PMMM characters' soul gems are mechanically untargetable until the girl is incapacitated, though I'd imagine we'd want a bit more risk than that. As for health, we could track physical health, and then damage to that would only heal with magic usage (again, like Grief Syndrome.)
  7. Scarlet mist descends Shrine maiden in red and white Flies into the night On the road she meets A strange spirit of the dark Posed as a wood cross Her eyes red, hair blonde Her dress black as the darkness She creates herself The spirit proved weak The shrine maiden moved on After a small quip 'Cross the lake she flew She met a great fairy and fought without speaking After defeating the great fairy, another appeared in her place The new foe loudly proclaimed herself THE STRONGEST! An icy chill came The little blue one With wings made of crystal ice challenges the hero After dodging ice and an unnatural chill The shrine maiden wins With a taunt, the maiden flies away from the lake and into the distance Toward a mansion She flies through the scarlet mist Until she meets the guard After a short fight The guard flees the shrine maiden Who follows quickly The hero challenges the unusual guard at the mansion's great gate Her braided red hair And dress of a subtle green Belie her power She showers the hero in destructive, beautiful rains of mighty strikes But still, the miko* is triumphant, defeating the rainbow dragon Beaten, the dragon shows the hero the way forth into the mansion Inside the mansion the miko meets a little devil among books Though red, this was not the Scarlet Devil behind this strange bloody mist After this foe flees she meets the librarian of the massive place Not ordinary this librarian, she has magical power The five elements Earth, water, fire, wood, steel Are at her command A fierce fight ensues Elements combined ev'ry method possible A storm of many powerful spells, the hero narrowly avoids Eventually, the shrine maiden's own magic trumps the bookkeeper Magician's defeat Our hero moves into the hall To meet another The great estate's maid Appears with a quick flurry Of flashing silver Her knives fly toward The maiden; A dozen -stop- Hundreds of sharp blades The miko dodges Desperately, and then stop; Again encircled Time and time again Knives appear, impossible quantity of steel Time is the answer The estate maid can halt it The world's normal flow But still, however The hero's power is strong Stronger than stopped time After her hardest battle, the miko flies on Leaving the maid there Before she reaches the mistress of the mansion Maid appears again However, she is tired, and only slows the miko for a brief moment Finally, she finds a balcony, and on it a small figure stands Black wings adorn her and she turns with a smile to face the miko Her fanged smile Turns into a frown seeing the hero appear here The red moon lights up the balcony where they stand with a lurid glow After exchanging some brief words, the final duel Begins with a fury Formidable strength The mistress's power belies her petite body Storms of energy Crimson tide assaults the hero Curse of Vlad Tepes The miko fights back Shrine maiden's true power shown Fantasy Nature Drifting in and out of reality, she floats past her foe's attack Mistress's final strike She turns the entire sky into deep scarlet It is still not enough The shrine maiden nimbly moves Avoiding her death Finally, the one responsible for the red mist is defeated The eternal night of scarlet mist is ended by the shrine maiden She returns to home Back to her humble temple to tend to her chores
  8. There's no innate die rolling function on the forum I took the format from. The only immediate change I can see is merging Synergy and Constitution, as well as possibly doing away with Intelligence as a stat, though that could be changed to govern the number of action points a character gains per level, or perhaps making it the generic "support" stat that governs stuff like heals, nets, etc. Basically stuff that doesn't do damage.
  9. Arturia opened her eyes after a few moments, as they had squeezed shut in her pain. Still breathing somewhat heavily, the girl was greeted with the sight of. . . carpet? And a stack of books? She raised her head enough to look around. The first thing that came into sight was Haley and some books, and then the rest of the library around them. She felt at her abdomen without looking before she answered the other girl's question. "I. . . think so? Weren't we just in the hall. . .?" She stood up, almost staring at Haley with confusion written all over her face.
  10. We could tie mana and health together since that's how the show seens to work. Using abilities would take small amounts of health/soul limit compared to taking hits, but you'd still have to be careful.
  11. Here's the sheet for the system I had in mind by the way, should be self-explanatory. It's from this game. Obviously it'd be modified a bit to fit this, but I like the system. EDIT: Also, the game's rulebook.
  12. i would definitely participate and/or help run something like this. I think emphasis on mechanics would help keep the risk of death (or worse) would actually contribute to the RP, since freeform tends to "soften" combat. There's a system on another forum that we could adapt to this that I have in mind.
  13. you know there's a list of all the elements sans Earth and Time (which, if you read into what's been posted a bit, you should be able to figure out why they're separate) in the OP, right?

I'm don't know but I'm pretty sure they do exist

I just have really pale (almost white) skin so I tell everyone I'm a black albino as a joke

The common factor in albinism is ocular issues. The colouring is not the defining feature. So yes, black people can have albinism.

    4. Shamitako

      Shamitako

Also even with the color issues their skin still looks significantly different from white people with albinism

  18. I need something Rama-based. (And also a better way to format my sig. Maybe I'll do what Mael does.
  19. oh look, another day of getting fuckall done

  20. Arturia's face turned white. It would have been funny, really, the fact that her pale skin managed to turn even lighter, if it wasn't for the combination of factors that caused it. She had been too shocked to even process that Riley was a threat now, at least in the physical sense, her mind occupied with simply trying to understand what had just happened. She didn't scream; the blade sliding into her gut prompted a ragged, stuttering intake of breath as she stumbled back three paces. In her mind, Arturia knew that she should be writhing in agony on the floor right now, but she felt a strange disconnect from herself. Shock. I'm going into shock. That's lovely. She looked down at her abdomen, seeing the handle of the icy weapon protruding forward from it. Slowly, deliberately, she placed both hands on the grip, and took a deep breath - though this sent another surge of pain shooting through her body that registered dully with her brain. The numbness is wearing off. I'm going to pass out if I don't - She started to pull on the sword, and as she did so a storm of light appeared around her once again, turning in on itself and weaving through her body again. A hissing exhalation quickly began a scream of pain as she committed fully, jerking at the weapon with all the force she could muster. The blood that the blade had previously blocked the flow of poured out in a flood before the wound closed itself, staining the floor with even more scarlet. It was a bizarre set of sensations -and a set that she'd rather not have to experience again- having the weapon slide out of her as her body knitted itself together behind it. When the icy sword had finally been removed after what felt like hours, she dropped it to the ground and immediately crumpled to her knees, heedless of the fact that she fell into a pool of her own blood, and clutched her arms around her own abdomen, whimpering pathetically in residual and remembered pain.
