  1. Yeah but this isn't Batman or Superman, this is a real man with real achievements. Also please link directly to this "1900 cutoff."
  2. Show me something that actually proves that the throne cuts off at the 1900s. Like, a hard and fast rule. Tech existing doesn't make extraordinary feats any less extraordinary. It says that Heroic Spirits are vanishingly rare because of this tech problem, yes, but that doesn't mean that it automagically invalidates truly exceptional accomplishments. The only feasible argument here is the Edison theory (which says that his spreading of mass media essentially made it impossible for mystery to build up around humans) but you're not even using it. Instead you're saying that something that required an extraordinary feat of skill just... doesn't count, because bombs exist? Besides, the entirety of the Fate canon consists of rules that were broken by somebody.
  3. That's illegal or at the very least highly frowned upon, afaik. If they did that they'd hvae to post the rates online. Also, the guy who rolled 2000 quartz without getting what he wanted sort of indicates that the rates are still just as shit.
  4. lol no Managing 4+ kills a day, in a Scandinavian winter (i.e. it was super fucking dark all the time), with numerous countersniping operations going on, using a rifle with iron sights, and surviving an artillery shell to the face? Besides, I don't think the "right tech" rule is a thing at all. You get hero points for soloing an army even though a B-52 can do the same thing in seconds. Regular Fate canon explicitly states that the Throne lies outside the time axis; how the fuck do you think EMIYA was a thing? Yes I'm mentioning him because it's relevant; it shows that the Grail is capable of pulling a spirit that might not even exist after the events of the HGW from the future, regardless of said spirit's conditions. I'd also like to point out that Grand Order is canon.
  5. Makes a little more sense, I guess. As for your comment, I would guess something about him being too new? Because if so I'd have to point out a couple things: 1. The Throne doesn't care about the time axis, unless you subscribe to the "Edison killed all the other heroic spirits" theory 2. He'd still be a pretty weak Servant, being new. 3. He's famous for his own exploits, not because he had equipment that made it possible.
  6. there's like, one map in okeanos. Reddit has a place where you can find maps of all the places to grind. Meanwhile Rama has yet to grace my rolls qq
  7. Arturia - Library "You shouldn't be embarrassed over someone else being bitchy," Arturia said. "It's not like you're controlling what she does." She paused for a moment, considering what Haley had said while simultaneously trying to wind herself back down a bit. She didn't want to catch herself accidentally shouting when she'd just told another girl off for making too much noise. "Whatever she wanted, it couldn't have been that important." She suddenly let out a short, sardonic-sounding laugh. "Unless I'm really that terrifying."
  8. "oh i'm sorry i've just been busy" refreshes reborn, reddit, and bay12 for four hours

  9. By the way, will we be getting any upgrades? Or is it just redistributing stats?
  10. I should mention that Hiroki's mech defended against the laser via forcing it through a cloud of gas, which made it bloom and therefore expend most of its power heating the traveling plasma.
  11. Hellfire Knight vs Ricochet - Final Hiroki watched her opponent slump backward quietly. She simply nodded to accept the compliment and dismissed her mech, dropping lightly to the ground, now scorched and blackened from her onslaught. The girl turned around and walked a few steps toward the gate she'd originally entered from, then stopped. She thought for a moment, and faced her fallen opponent once more. Hiroki looked like she was about to speak, then shook her head slightly and resumed her original path. Once she returned to the staging area, she donned her disguise once again, hoping that she didn't run into the one known as LOLI_HUNTER again.
  12. Hellfire Knight vs. Ricochet Hiroki spun about once again to face her enemy. With a wordless yell, she made a motion as if throwing some large object over her head. The plasma surrounding her flung itself at Ricochet, sending Hiroki sliding backward and immolating the the missiles mid-flight. The laser bloomed in the cloud of ionized gas, robbing it of most of its power before it hit the Hellfire Knight's frame and was absorbed harmlessly by the armor, specialized in heat dispersal. Her HUD lit up all green within moments of discharging the barrier, except the indicator showing the status of Hellfire Mantle; that was red, slowly cooling toward yellow. "Activate auxiliary power cell; subroutine GIGA FLARE!" she shouted at the top of her lungs. The cloud of plasma headed toward Ricochet was followed with an absolutely unavoidable solid wall of pure plasma, looking like a second sun had just appeared on the battlefield as it heaved forth from every gun on the mech's frame. Another indicator on her HUD blinked out as the visor darkened in response to the sudden increase in light; this time it was grayed out, indicating it would be quite some time before that could be done again.
  13. This is true, but then you're still firing into a ball of plasma.

It's showing that there's three comments but there's only two here wtf

  14. I would guess that, being a top-tier contestant, you would have an auto-reloading rocket launcher. Given that these are single missiles, holding four or five seems reasonable. I'm not sure how much either of those things will help when you're 1. being grappled and 2. fighting someone with point defenses, though.
  15. Hellfire Knight vs. Ricochet Hiroki grinned. She didn't really attempt to dodge, just jetted ever so slightly to her left so that her center of mass wasn't square with her rival's. Right before the punch connected, her left arm - the one seemingly lacking any weaponry - snatched at the torso of Ricochet's mech, aiming to keep him close. His punch landed almost dead on, causing Hiroki to grunt in pain, but not before she yelled the simple command: "Hellfire Mantle!" Several ports slid open and vomited forth a torrent of white-hot plasma that began to form in an orb around herself. If she caught the speedy mech, they'd both be launched into a dizzying spin, but Ricochet would be immersed in an environment an order of magnitude hotter than his frail armor could possibly withstand. During all of this, an indicator on the HUD flipped from red to green. Ricochet was fast, yes, but objects moving in a straight line were easy to track and lock on to.
  16. Regent and Hasslehoof. Time: 1st Day, of the 1st Month, of the Year of Rebirth. Approximately 3:05 PM "Luck is something that prey hopes for and the hunter does not need," the drake responded to Hasslehoof's taunt. His dismissive, almost dry response belied his plans. He shuffled his massive feet along with the music for only a brief moment, then lunged once more, predatory instinct telling him to chase, to pursue the target rather than wait for a second chance that might not come. He aimed himself not directly at the minotaur, however, but a few inches forward in the direction he was circling, hoping to catch him in an instinctive dodge as Regent's left foreleg raised itself in preparation to strike.
  17. Hellfire Knight vs. Ricochet Hiroki pivoted in the air, tracking her opponent's motion as he circled around her. The bulky frame might not have been very fast when moving in a line, but not having to be in contact with the ground make it easy to spin about. She slowed her forward motion and helped her spin by kicking one foot off of the ground, the heavy metal foot clanging as it struck. The pivot resulted in the laser skimming across the surface of her chestplate, not doing much more than burning off some of the paint. Several of the guns on her wings, which had remained inactive until now, suddenly came to life, sending precise streams of energy at the incoming rocket and detonating it when it was about halfway between the two of them. The barrage emanating from the mech's three primary cannons and myriad secondary guns didn't relent, either. The sweep of her assault left the arena pockmarked with scorches from plasma bullets colliding with obstacles. Instead of moving toward her opponent, she simply hovered in place as the guns automatically fired. "Activate barrage subroutine 'Tokamak," she spoke into her helmet calmly. The barrage narrowed itself, each individual shot being fired with greater power and speed as the general spread collapsed into two lines of fire that started at each edge of her vision and slowly began to converge, aiming to force Ricochet into either taking a number of hits by jumping through the wall of fire or trying to fit through the only gap in it; Hiroki's position.
  18. No it's not just zoomed in asdf This was the original version pre-crop This is what I have now
  19. This is actually a different picture from the one I was using then...
  20. Hellfire Knight vs. Ricochet Hiroki was confused for a moment; her opponent seemed to be doing nothing more than standing there and looking at her. It didn't matter; the SMO mech stood little chance against her. He's going to try to make it hard for me to target him. We'll see how that works out. As her mech continued to accelerate slowly toward her enemy, she spoke another command to the mech. "Execute initial fire subroutine." As she brought her main gun to bear, angling it directly at Ricochet, the myriad smaller guns mounted on the "wings" of her mech swung upward to match. The two shoulder cannons did the same, though most of the weaponry seemed to be aimed off center by some degree or another. Hiroki squeezed her right fist, and the arena was suddenly lit up in a blaze, each gun mounted on the mech save the ones along the legs rapidfiring small packets of plasma. The main gun fired a contiguous stream of the stuff while the rest covered an area spanning almost everything that could be considered in front of her, saturating even the air for several feet above either contestant's head with a multitude of bullets. Each projectile wouldn't deal critical damage by itself, but even the smallest hits would concern something as light as Ricochet's mech.
