The Byakuren one looks...off...I can't put my finger on what looks so off about it though.

  1. Couple suggestions I made to you on the server, just writing them here. 1. A split between "Body" and "Soul" attributes. This acts as a safeguard against minmaxing to an extent and also tends to prevent certain typical character archetypes (Big Dumb Fighter, Squishy Wizard) from being played if you split the pool for upgrading those stats. (e.g. you might get 30/30 instead of 60 for all stats). My suggested division would be HP/Strength/Dexterity/Speed/Defense and Special/Intelligence/Luck/Charisma/Resistance, though some stats could be swapped around (e.g. considering DEX to be one's spatial and kinesthetic senses and Special to be an innate part of your body) 2. Making it a bit less chaotic by using the Pseudo-RNG system used in Warcraft III/Dota 2. Basically, say you have a 20% chance of something happening. Instead of just rolling a d10 and checking to see if you got a 9 or 10, the chance is determined by a simple formula P=cn, where P is the -actual- chance, c is a constant, and n is the number of attempts since the last success. This page has a list of constants, in this case it's 0.05570. So, your real chance of landing that sweet critical is only about 5.5% on the first hit. Your chance of landing it after a dry spell of 10 hits, however, is 55.7%. tl;dr a bit of simple math to make really dumb RNG things happen less.
  2. I'll stick with the RP. Apologies for not being particularly active.
  3. Funny you'd mention that, I'm working on a sort of MMO-esque RP right now with Lexi. I hadn't thought about using this, but now that you mention it, it could be a good plan.

      Oh damn. RIP.

Nah, JK. You got any friends who take the same class during the same time? Or at least a classmate you have acquaintance with? you can probably get the lecture notes from them if you ask.

  5. "O-Otaku? I guess you could call me that. . ." Sora had to admit, he didn't get out much. "I don't really play sports, so I don't really follow them much, but I do go to games sometimes." I would go more often if you were there, he thought to himself. When Evelyn came out and spoke, Sora looked down at her words. "Sorry. . . I can finish cleaning the showers too, I didn't mean to make you do it yourself." He didn't mention the dusty corner of the gym, until. . . "Oh! Do you recognize this purse?" He held it up so that the girl could get a clear view of it.
  6. Regent raised his eyebrows, or would have if he possessed eyebrows. "I am honored to accept your challenge, Hasslehoof!" He punctuated this with a sound somewhere between a growl and a bark. His referring to the minotaur by name was a sign of his own respect for his challenger; most drakes of his kind cared little for names, the ones taught to communicate in a way that other races understood (like Regent himself) almost invariably referred to others by species, some distinctive characteristic, or a combination thereof (the armored meatless one, the insane hunter of thought, the loud bull-man). To begin, the big lizard turned about with his back facing Hasslehoof, his tail moving around himself as to not slam into any of the onlookers or his opponent, then hoisted his rear end into the air, placing his back legs just above the minotaur's head as his front legs supported his muscular bulk. This served two purposes; the first, obviously, that it looked quite flashy. The second was something that only one quite knowledgeable about his species might know. Though they were called "argent drakes," they were more closely related to wyverns than other drakes, and this showed in that their hind paws had considerably more dexterity than their front, almost as if a humanoid had hands for feet and feet for hands.
  7. Claude's Group "A challenge?" Kage perked up at the thought. "Yeah, let's do that. Beats some trivia thing, although I guess if it was about Pokemon it wouldn't be so bad." I could knock that out of the park, really, as long as they didn't try to get too tricky. He frowned for a moment. Probably involves math. I hate math.
  8. Stefan, Lucia and Adero Ryu raised his hands in a placating gesture. "We're trying, we're trying. Haruto is doing his best, but we can't exactly just march up to the so-called Protectors and tell them to stop killing beasts. "Though uh," one hand reached up to scratch his head, "I wouldn't exactly call most of them defenseless. Make no mistake, we're quite aware they're dangerous, but so are a lot of animals." "As far as what happens next," he continued with a breath, his hand once again falling to his side, "well, I was hoping to recruit you guys. Arch has enough energy stored up to contract with all of you" - he glanced down at the ferret, who nodded - "and we can get you training right away. That's what's in it for you, by the way; you get the powers and you can do pretty much whatever you want with them, as long as you a. do your best to protect Mediators and b. don't go wantonly showing it off to non-mages. Who knows what would happen if people got word about us?" Dexter and Seth Astros took a high route, running along the tops of buildings and jumping between them much as Takeshi had Dexter doing for the first portions of his training. He picked up his pace slightly when he sensed Dexter closing, his form barely visible as it streaked through the night, far more quickly than any ordinary cat could move. It was clear why he elected to stay out of the streets, watching him. However, he did attract a different sort of attention - a trio of. . . birds? began to move toward him, aiming to intercept his path further ahead. Their bodies seemed far too long and narrow to be normal birds, though any detail was difficult to make out when moving at this speed in the darkness of the night. A passing magus, up late and lost in thought, picked up Astros's signal as well. If he glanced up, he would have seen the catlike being streak past along a rooftop, followed quickly by the beasts in pursuit. Vixen The flying magus crashed down hard enough to crack the pavement and send dust flying up. However, instead of having to recover after the heavy landing, the magus killer found the blade in his hand swinging with all the momentum it had previously possessed in her direction, a backblast of electricity and raw force illuminating the street behind them as it kicked the rubble generated by the landing backward, peppering the building behind him with shrapnel and cracking a window. ((This turned out a lot shorter than I thought it would, sorry for the wait.))

  14. Kenny, don't you think it's a bit unrealistic of you to just declare that you haven't been seen?
  15. Heavensea dodged past where the soon-to-be-unconscious Yousei and Reggi were engaged in melee and dashed toward the right, crouching as low as she could and trusting her shield to absorb the damage from the low-power weapons that would inevitably be fired at her. She brought her naginata toward the human aiming at Symphony with a quick horizontal slash, relying on her momentum to provide part of the force behind the blow.
  16. I'll try to get another update out for those waiting at some point this weekend.
  17. Regent had made his way to the Great Ballroom as the festivities began to pick up, where he had attracted a small crowd of onlookers. While the drake wasn't much for dancing, this was one of the few rooms that he could move about comfortably in the castle proper, and the other large denizens of the fortress seemed to enjoy that fact as well. He was currently engaged in what one might describe as a "pose-off" with a particularly large minotaur, each one flexing muscles, strutting, and generally trying to look as imposing as possible to the other. The observers seemed convinced they were about to fight, and the pair came close to giving the crowd what they wanted; they jumped at one another and crashed their heads together, locking horns and staring one another down at close range. It lacked the tense air of two predators truly fighting, however; neither was actually interested in harming the other.
