  1. Quote I just read: "Log Horizon, SAO but not as dumb."

  2. "Janah, Knock Off, NOW!" Yuuki shouted the order with desperation as the Gallade rose from the shadows with his target out of reach. It was abundantly clear what was about to happen; either the Chandelure was KO'd and they escaped safely, or the entire boat quite literally exploded. The Gallade leapt through the air on well-developed legs, swinging an arm in a vicious uppercut.
  3. Yuuki simply nodded and the Gallade sunk into the floor once again, seemingly becoming a formless mass of shadows before coalescing behind the Chandelure and striking it with a quick jab. Meanwhile, the scholarly Trainer looked about in increasing desperation for an exit. They had to leave this ship somehow; with the amount of damage the flames would be causing to the vessel, it likely wouldn't remain afloat for long.
  4. Siegfried The magus momentarily forgot his courtesy as he broke into a loud, prolific, and multilingual bout of swearing, including no less than four languages and several phrases that were not precisely expletives but still vile. He immediately tore after the werewolf as quickly as his legs would move him over the streets of Seigishi. This is going to cause reprisal from the Church, the Mages Association, possibly local police forces. I wouldn't be surprised if my grandmother told me off, she can probably hear this hellish racket from her grave. While he wasn't a professional or even amateur athlete by any means, the magus was still fit, but the inhuman pace set by Ashnard was impossible to match. At this rate it will take me a half hour to get there, in which time that monster will have likely destroyed the block. He stumbled to a halt, and looked around. There were a few cars parked alongside the road. . . Bah. This takes priority. He ran up to the driver's side of one and drew a particular rune on it. Metal, Earth, you are one and the same. The door began to rapidly rust with a bit of channeled prana, and he removed the door with a single effort after a moment of this. Sorry, friend. I will have to repay you. Once inside, he cursed once again. Damned new cars and their plastic everything. However, his consternation quickly subsided when he realized the ignition was still made of metal. He drew a third rune on it, causing the car to cough and sputter to life. It likely wouldn't be drivable for long with this blunt method. It'll have to do. The magus sped down the street in his newly acquired vehicle, drawing more than a few looks as he chased the monster he had called into the world.
  5. You should almost nick the servants from Bfroger's Fate RP and put them here. Or, I could remake Beowulf here instead, since I think I might make a couple adjustments.
  6. I also dropped it into the OP. It's mostly a way to track people's locations so we avoid people instantly teleporting across the map to meet someone who should be across the city. --merged because i'm dumb-- Coming for ya, Acqui. Should mention that these are meant to run pretty quickly.
  7. Siegfried The magus was preparing to return home for the night when he felt an impulse, transmitted from a rune he had just completed drawing. PINGPINGPingPingpingpingpingpingpingping. Ten runes away, some sort of echo of magecraft. It was. . . southeast? of where he was. It was difficult to tell; the runes were very simple in structure, and getting the blasted things to transmit between one another had been difficult enough. Hm. That's strange. . . I had supposed that if any other magi were prepared, they would be north or west, into the less densely populated areas and away from prying eyes. Indeed, Siegfried himself had traveled a significant distance in the direction and had planned on obtaining a small dwelling once he submitted his findings to the Mage's Association. Perhaps I can subdue whoever this is quickly. He immediately turned about and set himself toward the rune that seemed to have signalled him. He was on foot; he had very little disposable income at the moment, and did not trust the silent beast following him to carry him any great distance - unless it was in shreds, within Ashnard's stomach. "Your desire may be granted sooner than I expected. Magecraft, almost directly southeast. Do try to attack the Servant, if there is one. I have plans for the magus."
  8. Right, so we made a map of the city. Update your character positions at will. Circles are masters, squares are servants. https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/1TuYxoCXT9XMzIrVtxpYuKvhdUtz2oXOvuST2GbOfMiw/edit
  9. Yeah, I don't wanna start moving on other people until their Servant contracts are complete. Also until Lexi and I come up with a map of this city
  10. Siegfried I've made a terrible mistake, summoning this creature. However, it - he, I suppose - can still be used. The magus brought his left hand up for a moment. On the back of his hand were those strange tattoos. . . Command Seals. He raised the hand and stretched it in the direction of the man-beast before him. No. He let the hand fall. "I recommend that you keep me as long as possible, lycanthrope. Consider me trash or not, I supply the mana that maintains your existence. A being of your power could not exist for long without a sustainable source of mana, and I doubt any other magus has the will or desire to contract with you." The young man was unsure that this Berserker could even comprehend what he was saying any more, but he hoped that it would be enough to keep him alive for the moment. "I intend to locate targets for you to hunt. Remain here until I have done so, unless you have some means of concealing yourself from mortal eyes, in which case you may follow." His voice did not waver for a moment, but his fear was betrayed by the way he backed out of the room, only turning once the door was closed. He headed up the stairs and out to the streets, occasionally ducking into an alleyway to trace a small set of runes using a bit of chalk he kept on his person. They wouldn't last more than a day or two, but he didn't have time to set up a more advanced and permanent method of detection. They would have to do.

      Woot woot!!! ALL ABOARD!!!

  12. Hopefully after this point our job as hosts will be pretty minimal. By the way, for anyone interested, we're still taking signups. There will be Grail Wars after this one. Also, if you're in this one, get a backup Master ready because there's a good chance you won't live to be in the next one. @Hukuna: just edit it in.
  13. Janus and Noriko As Janus finished his incantation, a brilliant light flared before his eyes. It would have illuminated the entire room if it wasn't so bright that the magus was forced to avert his gaze. Before him was a woman - or girl, she appeared to be in her late teens, or early twenties at the oldest- with a remarkable appearance. She was a few inches shorter than Janus himself, though her face was level with his as she floated slightly off of the ground. Her bright (but not particularly light) blue hair was in two very long braids that seemed to almost move on their own behind her, if it wasn't for the slight amount of wind that buffeted him. Her dress appeared to be made of layered scales, or perhaps leaves, with a white coloration except for blue borders. It split down the middle to show a fairly tight pair of black leggings, though oddly she was barefoot. The most striking thing about her appearance, however, was the four spears floating in the air about her. Each had a large, triangular head made of some dark metal and almost seemed difficult to wield as a weapon. She grabbed one of them and set the butt into the floor in front of her with a thunk, and she looked directly into the eyes of the one who had summoned her. Her jade gaze was stern and commanding. She asked one question in a voice matching her eyes: "Are you my Master?" Siegfried and Ashnard The man took two surprised steps backward. He wasn't sure what manner of spirit he had just summoned, and he briefly wondered what the hell he thought was going to happen and why he hadn't taken more precautions. Despite this, he quickly regained his composure. He looked over the being before him, information about his capabilities seemingly appearing out of nowhere. I've summoned a. . . Berserker? By the name of Ashnard. I know that name. I doubt that I can effectively reason with him, but. . . "I am Siegfried Eberhardt, and I have summoned you to fight in the Holy Grail War." Grail War? Where did that come from? Yet, it felt right. Whatever the source of his previous information was, it seemed to tell him of the upcoming battle. If I'm truly insane, I wouldn't know. Therefore I must continue as if I am not.
  14. Silef nodded at the Victonari's words. She lowered his tone to match his in reply. "I'm going to need you and our archer friend to buy me a bit more time. I have an idea, but I need time to recover." She continued to circle the Divine Knight, brandishing her blade as if she was still looking for a weak point to hit with it. He might have the weapons of the others figured out, but I have a bit more control than the common archer over my attacks.
  15. As soon as Lexi shows up and we confer for a bit, we'll be ready to go. Servant assignments will be available once the IC thread is up.
  16. "Maybe. That sounds accurate," Seyr responded, blissfully unaware of the pixie's hesistation. He started to walk forwards into what seemed to him to be the most populous section of the town. "Let's go meet the townsfolk, then." He didn't wait for the other fae to follow, however, heading along his chosen path at a brisk pace.
  17. Arturia sat up a bit and looked over at Emberly. It seemed like she was drawing, or maybe writing. Deciding that her game could wait for a moment, she shifted to face her roommate. "What are you doing over there, anyway?" she asked.
  18. Back from the lake.

  19. ECT is entirely legal, though it's only used in extreme cases of bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, etc. when all other treatments have failed.
  20. Silef hesitated for a moment when Dust spoke. It seemed to strike some sort of chord inside her, but she shook her head. There would be time to ponder later. The sorceress continued to control her breathing, trying to recover. Blocking the earthen spears had taken a toll on her reserves of energy, so it was difficult to resume attacking immediately. She circled Dust for a moment while her allies rushed in, waiting for the right time to strike. In this time, she made a simple reply. "I fight because I must," she said in an even tone.
