Must have been unsuccessful, Yuuki surmised due to the attacks not ceasing and the impressions he received from his Pokemon. He focused for a moment. "Janah, Shadow Sneak back in here and slap this Chandelure down." It was rather amusing, the Chandelure's reaction. Or, it would have been if the wall of flame around him wasn't so intense that he worried for the amount of oxygen still remaining in the area. That's some poor training on that ghost. These Pokemon may be powerful, but their responses aren't coordinated. Yuuki simply looked back toward the Chandelure calmly as Janah coalesced behind it, delivering a blow that would knock away whatever it might have been holding.

The well-trained Gallade reacted reflexively, taking a hold of his master and sweeping him toward safety and away from the oncoming torrent of flames. After the initial shock of being directly attacked by his opponent faded, Yuuki took a moment to assess the situation. It seems that all of their attacks are aimed at eliminating the trainers, rather than knocking out Pokemon. The opponents also display high levels of power, and mine has type advantage, so direct confrontation may be unwise. Yuuki scrambled for a better hiding spot as he analyzed the situation. Perhaps the best move is to mirror the opponent's tactics. "Janah, Swords Dance!" The order didn't mean what the opponent might think, however. Training added to psychic communication told the Gallade to instead take a step through the shadows, aiming to capture the opposing Trainer rather than attack the Chandelure.

Seyr angled his head thoughtfully for a moment. "I suppose it would be summer. Plenty of sun to bask in, prey to hunt, and there are so many interesting things that mortals do during the season. All these festivals and such. What does that say about me, I wonder?" He gave a questioning look to the pixie. It was still odd, interacting with such a small creature. The pixie seemed almost nervous around him; was it merely their size difference?

Arturia leaned back into the bed in her dorm, getting comfortable. She didn't really intend to take a nap, but the beds were comfortable and out of sight of prying teachers. Her laptop was balanced on her legs as she laid atop the blankets. Her body might have had different intentions, however, as a jaw-cracking yawn came unbidden. Yesterday had been a long day, after all. Abruptly, she realized how long she'd been ignoring the room, so she peered out at the other half of the room, checking on what her roommate was doing. She was fairly happy about the whole situation; Emberly seemed like someone she could get along with, and even the room's decor matched her personal tastes fairly well.

Dexter and Ozzy The beast flinched backwards with Ozymandias's strike, evading any critical damage to the eye but still receiving a nasty cut on it's snout. There seemed to be a glint of something reflective underneath, but it was hard to make out what exactly it was, seeing as it was a small cut on the body of something actively trying to kill the observers. Fortunately for Takeshi, the flinch allowed him to escape the fiend's grip. He stood up as the maw moved away from him, and combined a retreat with a swing at the nearest leg as he jumped backward. Irritated and pained by the strike, the beast hooked one of Ozymandias's arms with a claw and flung him away - and directly at Dexter.

Poor Hukuna. Good thing he's an immortal Lovecraftian monster.

1. Fantasy RPs are definitely the easiest, but characters from other genres can work as well. They're just a bit harder to adapt. 2. A legendary object, ability or technique that is synonymous with the character's legend, or defines their abilities in large part. Think something like King Arthur's Excalibur, the invincibility of Achilles, things like that. 3. A is the highest, with the exception of EX, which means the ability defies traditional classification or is unimaginably powerful. An example of the latter is Fate/Zero's Rider and his Phantasm that summons an entire army of full-fledged Heroic Spirits. 4. Pretty much. There's a full list of canon skills on typemoon.wikia.com, but you can make them up if none apply.

I would personally go for a stripped-down version of whatever you had planned next originally, then move on.

Yuuki was startled, to say the least. He was also intensely curious about the phenomenon he had just experienced; some sort of group hallucination? Now was not the time to ponder, however. The scholar filed the information to the back of his mind for now as he stood up. He released Janah with a crisp, practiced motion, and the Gallade immediately came into a ready stance. "My friend, we'd best prepare ourselves. Swords Dance," he ordered. Yuuki turned to the rest of the group. "I think that regardless of what just happened in reality, we should be ready for a fight." He started to move cautiously into the hall after the statement, peering toward the stairs. Janah followed closely behind him, still gathering his own energy for the fight.

Name - Astal Gender - Male Pokemon Species - Hydreigon Age - 25 Personality - Straightforward, simple, and loud sum up his personality. He's not one for subtleties and enjoys simple things in life. He's not stupid, he just finds most intellectual activities and discussions to be quite boring. Almost incapable of lies or deceit, and considers any promise he makes to be essentially law - though he often avoids obligations because of this. He can be somewhat prideful in his raw physical talent. Appearance - Notably large, and with unusually well-developed wings and legs. When in battle or on duty, wears heavy armor on his heads and underside, with the upper portion being much lighter in comparison. Occupation - Flight Officer, mostly dealing with aerial bombardment and direct-fire support of ground forces. (Think of him as a sentient A10 Warthog.) Faction - Nostring Primal Desolation? - I don't think a Hydreigon is capable, so no. Backstory - (Thoughts on the Republic, their "faction", and maybe how they got to their occupation.) Astal has always been what he is: big, a bit rowdy, and straightforward. Even from a fairly young age, he was very patriotic, and his general temperament led him to a military career. His superiors recognized him as fairly unfit for any sort of high command, but his raw strength made him a valuable asset to the services. He never had much patience for politics and only puts up with military service because he gets paid to do what he enjoys; protecting his home and exerting the full extent of his power. This is in part why he supports the Nostring faction; why bother interfering with people's lives? It seems so much simpler to focus on the basics. However his views might conflict with orders, however, he still carries them out; after all, he still wants to serve the country.

Dexter and Ozzy "Not exactly," Takeshi called back with a strained, almost choked tone. Their opponent apparently decided to return the assault it had received, as roared and released a pulse of inky black energy that expanded outward, sweeping away all three mages and bowling them off of their feet. While they recovered, it pounced on Takeshi, holding him in place with the two outer arms while energy roiled at its vile fangs. The beast's head moved upward even as it looked downward at the pinned mage, preparing to deliver the attack. It seemed to be entirely focused on its current target, and did not appear to be affected at all by the prior assaults. Dexter and Ozymandias were left with a choice: remain here and fight a hopeless battle in the hopes that the beast would deem them too tough to bother with, or escape and leave Takeshi to escape on their own.

Yuuki simply nodded at the question as he reached out to grab a cup of coffee. He put a small amount of cream and sugar into it, and took a small sip. It tasted fairly good. He savored the taste for a moment before replying to the question properly. "As she said, you're referring to when humans first appeared to differentiate themselves from the populations of Pokemon? Some theorize that it had something to do with how we interacted with Spectra - perhaps a mutation that somehow allowed the carriers to survive the harsh conditions more easily."
