  2. nah i just made a stupid i'll admit i didn't spend a lot of time on your intro
  3. The report would have said that the most recent bout was in one of the industrial areas, on the edge of Preserver territory.
  4. Sorry. The intention was to have you leave for the location the broadcast mentioned (offscreen, should have done it in the post) or, yknow, just do whatever. I'm not forcing you down any path here.
  5. Anyone else interested? Like I said before, don't worry too much about the mechanical side of things; it's really not as complicated as it looks.
  6. I hereby declare this day to be Gay Day.

  10. Yeah. It'll move pretty quickly to the next day so you'll be caught up, so don't worry.
  11. Oh, I guess we're not waiting for everyone to get ready. That works. Hiroki began the non-verbal part of the song with a slight quaver in her voice, which she quickly corrected. It's a good thing that I've probably played and sung this song enough times to do this in my sleep. . . Having an already-famous idol with her was making her jittery, like she was singing in front of a crowd. "Someday, the light of love that you set aflame in your eyes (Will transcend time) And surely destroy one dream (Of this world that hurries to its ruin.)" Hiroki, instead of singing every line like she usually did, left the correct lines out for one of the other girls to sing. It was a multi-part song, after all. She hoped that they wouldn't be annoyed with her taking the lead part, though. As much as she liked the song, she still felt like she sung it a bit too forcefully, though that could have just as easily been nervousness around a celebrity talking. "Swallow down your hesitation. (What is it that you wish for?) On the path of yearning as greedy as this, Will there be a transient tomorrow?" It was kind of difficult, focusing on keeping her voice in tune with the song and playing the guitar part simultaneously. She could do it, though, and she felt a small thrill of personal pride that competed with her usual nerves about performing in front of people. "With power that can break through the darkness, Something like the ancient magic That I dreamed of when I was young, I want to meet you and your smile. What I hold in these frightened hands of mine Is courage made of handpicked flowers. My feelings alone are all that I rely upon, A wish that will awaken The light." She took a quick breath after singing the long, continuous verse before starting to sing the next.
  12. A week has passed. Various magi have been at many activities in the city, most benign, some less so. The weather is quite dreary for a May afternoon: rain falls steadily, and has done so for the entire day. The time is 2 PM. Vixen and Bark The pair was able to find a frustratingly small amount of traces left behind by the beast, though they were able to track its movements somewhat via spikes in the local suicide rates. This was reflected in the news, dutifully reporting the deaths as they seemed to crop up almost randomly. Vixen and Bark found themselves in a small, relatively empty building with one of these reports murmuring in the background. ". . . the alarming increase in suicide was attributed to simple causes such as stress previously, but as deaths in residential and other areas increase, police have began investigating possible connections between them. . ." Bobby, Krys, and Dexter Takeshi waited for the mages-in-training at his usual hideout. When they got there, he greeted them warmly. "Hey guys, how's it going today? Good? Anyway, this is going to be the last day of training for everyone. I can't really help you out a whole lot after this; Haruto will be up my rear in a flash, and I like living here. And living in general. I've got a little test for you, for lack of a better term." Kindle The girl found herself in one of the city's rich neighborhoods, with expensive apartments and the occasional high-class retail or coffee shop dominating most of the landscape. Hikaru had given her an address that led to a building in this area. Kindle stood in front of it; it was one of the aforementioned apartment buildings, though the units would more properly be referred to as suites. It had a very modern design, with lots of glass and clean lines. The interior had high-quality lacquered wood paneling for the walls, with the occasional painting in the shared halls. Nagi (one day earlier) Noriko had her doing a few small tasks to start her off, mostly familiarizing herself with Preserver territory and searching it for any hints of the beast's existence. Today, however, Noriko said she had a more specific and more important assignment for her. She stood in front of the warehouse that contained the Protector headquarters. Faust (roughly two hours earlier) The previous week had been fairly uneventful by Peacekeeper standards. Faust was given a full debriefing and was shown around the town and brought up to speed on the VIPs in the area for all factions, as well as several notable loners. Afterward, he was given a couple basic assignments; essentially observe and report. Today, however, he was given a more important one. He was called to the office of his immediate superior, Kaito; he was the short, blonde man he had met when he first arrived. "I've got a job for you today that might be a little more exciting. We've got some intelligence that suggests one of the Preserver lieutenants might be trying to cause trouble; reports say it's either a split in the Preservers or some sort of attack on the Protectors. Needless to say, we can't let that happen. Here's the address we have for the target's residence, and the information we have on them." Kaito handed a small packet of folded papers to Faust before continuing. "Instructions are pretty simple; find out what's going on here. I'll leave the method up to you." The contents of the packet read as follows: ((In your post, mention something about how you spent your week. Feelings, any particular things you dealt with, etc.))

  14. Thinking of writing a small essay on how retail and fast food are basically a socially accepted version of the Stanford Prison Experiment.

  17. "Alright, bud, we've got this in the bag. One more push and we take this whole thing home." Lucas walked forward calmly, a determined look on the Kirlia's face. Kage looked up to reply to Jacob. He had forgotten his sunglasses once again, so his off-kilter gaze was likely visible to the other Trainer - though whether anyone else could see it was a different question. "Well, if everything goes according to plan, neither of us will be seeing much of anything." Kage chuckled at his own joke. "I'm gonna be mad if you don't bring your best shot to this, though. Let's do this."
  18. Silef didn't respond for a long while, leaving both of them in silence for a time. "So that means my name is lost," she stated simply afterward. Lost to the ash and dust of history, burned out of its pages over the scrap of land attributed to it. Those who didn't make the right choices in their life. . . I must have been able to do something better, but what, I do not know. "How long has it been, then? Since my . . . failure."
  19. "I see," Silef mused, keeping her thoughts to herself for another moment. She picked up her pace to match that of the man(?) beside her as she pondered what he had just told her. The Clash of Fates? Cleansing the soul of sorrow? Sounds like nonsense; but I am here. And what is this talk of an invitation? I merely appeared here, after what I thought was the end of my life. Finally, she spoke. "This all sounds like something out of a legend. I'm afraid I remember very little of them; my life does - did, I suppose, at this point - not permit time for listening to tales around the hearth."
  20. After gathering his thoughts, Kage stood from where he had been sitting and moved toward the arena. I'd better make this count. Gotta represent the Breeder Program, after everything. Leave the rest for later. He released Lucas about halfway through the tunnel, and the Psychic-type followed behind him on foot, as opposed to his usual perch on Kage's shoulder. Gonna take a while to get used to that. He took up his position on the battlefield, waiting for the signal to begin.
