  1. Hiroki's nervousness at meeting a famous idol in person was overtaken by amusement at Ringo's fumbling. Ha! How does that feel? She replied to Nozumi with a faint, satisfied grin still lingering on her face. "Of course, that's fine." She didn't bother asking if she knew the lyrics; obviously, if Nozumi volunteered to sing, she knew what she was singing. "Um, does everyone else want to play?" While she waited for their responses, Hiroki began a set of vocal warmups.
  2. Silef snorted. "Special. I suppose you could apply that term to me." I wonder how much he has heard of my house, if anything at all. "What is this place, anyway? I feel as if I should recognize it, especially attached to the name, but sadly I do not." Halls of Sorrow? The name didn't bode well, and she was fairly certain she remembered dying. . . it was rather difficult to mistake the feeling of an arrow tearing through one's heart. Was this the afterlife?
  3. Anyone want to cover my shift tomorrow? Split shifts suck x_x

Sure if I can keep the money you would make.

  4. so basically the way I'm handwaving this is that Silef is probably from a time period where the mentioned legends were widespread, but since she spent most of her life in lessons of some variety or locked in intense combat she's not overly familiar with them.
  5. Hiroki looked at the other girls as the song ended. It didn't even look like Ruri even noticed she was playing, but she guessed she could understand that, for now. She wanted to play a song that was a bit. . . heavier, but was fairly certain that the other girls likely hadn't even heard of some of the music she enjoyed. Which was a shame; it was fantastic music and most of it had very talented singers behind it. However, there was one song she was fairly certain they would have at least heard of, and another person who probably knew it quite well. . . "Have you guys ever heard of the song Magia by Kalafina?"
  6. Silef took the proffered hand and began walking alongside the strange individual. "I thank you for your courtesy. Allow me to apologize should I come off as rude; it has been quite some time since I last visited a court properly." A very long time, indeed. She elected to keep any questions about his dress to herself; there were far more important things to learn than why the man dressed in purple, or wore a helm underneath a cap. "You flatter me, by the way; I am no queen, nor a descendant of such." She examined the Lord in Violet. "I would presume us equals, under different circumstances, but these are rather. . . odd." The sorceress was still trying to figure out where she was. It seemed, not familiar, but as if she should recognize the place somehow.
  7. i will lend my auth powers to the air faction, seeing as i already have a skyscraper built
  8. Saber of Black from Fate/Apocrypha. AKA Best Saber. OT: 8/10, though I'm too busy staring at your sig to properly rate the avatar...
  9. Silef felt nothing, and then something. Or, perhaps she had felt something before, but it was too awful to even consider remembering. Either way, strenght filled her limbs once more. . . which meant her fight was not finished. The scenes of her life returned to her all at once. A noble birth and upbringing, the fertile fields and hills of her homeland . . . and death. So much death. Much of it dealt by her, though she felt no shame about it. Not enough, though, not enough to prevent the others from returning it twofold, fivefold, tenfold. Someone shuddered; it might have been her. Shouldn't have; a lord does not shudder. She remembered an arrow. An arrow! The manor, the seat of her power, her birthplace, they attacked! Silef scrambled to her feet abruptly, instinctively wreathing herself in fire and drawing the slender blade at her side with a ragged, wordless battle cry. It took a few moments for the realization of her location to set in. She cast about with a wild look in her eyes for a few moments before the raised tip of the blade slowly moved toward the ground, the fire that had so suddenly appeared fading from sight. She breathed heavily, though not from the exertion - memory played a role, but shock is a powerful thing - as she examined her surroundings. It took several moments for her to realize that she had been spoken to. "Silef, head of the house Asterlux," she replied with a respectful nod, suitable for one lord to give to another. "Pardon my. . . rudeness. I . . ." She trailed off, unsure of how to explain her behavior or even where she was.
  10. SOMEONE IS GETTING SMACKED

  11. No idea. I didn't choose GL to be special, btw; I just like the weapon.
  12. Summoning all Hunters and prospective Hunters to the Gathering Hall, currently located in Val Habar. All are welcome to come; Hunting licenses are available free to anyone who meets the standards. Experienced Hunters encouraged to attend; attendance is mandatory for those possessing G permits of any variety. - A poster, distributed across the land, with a map drawn indicating the location. *** The hunter posed on top of the carcass of his most recent kill. The Rathalos had been a fearsome opponent, but the red wyvern had eventually fallen to persistence and his trusty gunlance. The cart back to town would still be a short while, so he had a bit of time to bask in his own accomplishment. His armor had gotten a bit singed in the process, however. Fiery blighters, the Rath wyverns were. His armor wasn't the best at keeping out heat, either, though it wasn't nearly as bad as some armor he had used previously. There was something exhilarating about bringing down these beasts; out here you only had what you brought with you to rely on, and there was always a sense of accomplishment after conquering something apparently so much stronger than yourself. It was a fresh experience every- What was that? The hunter turned around, climbing down from the carcass - almost not quickly enough. A cluster of what seemed to be blades of some variety whizzed past his head, causing him to flinch and tumble rather maladroitly to the ground a short distance away. Standing up, he cursed to himself. I thought those damn things were out of here! Wasting no time, he sprinted back toward base camp as a rattling roar sounded in the distance. The source of the roar quickly moved into clear vision as the hunter puffed, trying to measure his pace. A wyvern covered in golden scales streaked with red flew toward him with alarming speed, emitting a high-pitched cry as it prepared to swoop. He dove off of a ledge just as the predator caught up to him, razor-sharp talons sweeping just above his head. They're supposed to live deep in the Everwood, why did this bastard decide to ruin my day? Come to think of it, that Rathalos did seem like it was moving a little slow... damn! His train of thought was cut off - quite nearly literally - by another set of razors flying past him. Fortunately, base camp was just ahead. Seeing that the challenger was fleeing, the Seregios let out one last roar - sounding like a mixture between an eagle and a wooden rollercoaster flying down a hill - and swooped off in search of larger, slower prey. The hunter hurriedly climbed into the cart that had just arrived at the camp, and slumped into the seat as it turned to go back to Val Habar. After having a chance to settle, sit down, and grab a bite or six to eat, he walked out of his small dwelling and walked toward the Gathering Hall. It was quite early, but there was already quite the crowd outside the structure, including a number of novice hunters and people he had never seen before. It would be an interesting day, for sure, since the Guild seemed to have some sort of announcement to make.
  13. Hiroki started in on the guitar as soon as Ruri began the chorus. The song itself didn't have a whole lot of guitar to it, so she played the piano part on her instrument as well. Her playing was deft and light, only applying the minimum pressure needed to achieve the chords she was going for. The song wasn't particularly demanding, so she watched the other girls as she played. Ruri and Kagari both seemed to be really into the song, though it was hard to tell with the latter. Ringo appeared to be in a similar situation to herself. I wonder if I can convince them to play a faster song? Kagari-san doesn't really seem like the type to like that kind of music, though.
  14. Kage walked to the other waiting room at a brisk pace in a fairly sour mood. Surprised they didn't try to make some kind of big deal over the fact that I can't see. It felt strange to have all these people cheering his name, especially given what happened yesterday. I guess they don't know.
  15. fable two's final boss was just a regular guy. It was also quite possibly the most disappointing final boss in any game ever.
  16. Hiroki nodded. "That's fine, then." She was trying to hide it, but she was actually really excited to play the guitar again. It actually calmed her down, unlike singing. ((sorry for the length, trying to avoid unnecessary fluffing))
  17. Hiroki shot Ringo an irritated look before turning her head back to Kagari and Ruri. "Well, a capella means I can't play along. I can probably keep up with singing, too, but I'm not very good at singing in the background." It was a practice studio, and she did need practice singing in a less... forceful way, but she didn't want to completely drown out the other two girls. Hiroki really wanted to start off on the right foot, and the discussion earlier had been awkward enough already...
  18. First Kirin, then Yian Garuga, and now Shagaru Magala. Suddenly MH4U loves me with Guild Quests.

  19. Hiroki hummed along with the rhythm as Ruri sang. "Um. I think I know this one?" She was fairly certain she had heard the song before, after hearing it once more here. "Let me fix this." She played with a few knobs on the guitar itself, plucking the guitar repeatedly as the quality of the sound changed from a heavily distorted one to nearly acoustic-sounding. "It sounds like this, right?" She played a couple measures from the chorus, verifying it with the other two.
  20. Here's an idea: start off as a jump-in, casual RP like originally planned, let people explore the world a bit, get to know one another's characters, etc, then start a more serious plot.
