[Interest Check] Fate: Full Moon
Chevaleresse replied to Bfroger6's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Beowulf doesn't really go insane at any point, though his confidence is almost suicidal. My main problem with thinking of people is trying to come up with legendary heroes that aren't already used and aren't swordsmen. I forget, are Heroic Spirits exclusively mythological and legendary, or are they actual people? Because there are quite a few interesting historical figures one could use. -
As the group stepped through the rift created by the mysterious Mewtwo, they arrived in much better order than their sudden, hurried trip to the center of the world. They were greeted by a desolate, harsh landscape. The ground was parched, and it almost looked like it hadn't rained in centuries. Each footstep sent up puffs of windblown dust, yet the dirt underneath was hard-packed and rocky. The sun beat down on them almost violently and sweat rolled down the brows of anyone out in the heat. It was near the threshold of unbearable, but not quite there. They seemed to be in a canyon, and the high walls provided a small respite from the heat, though it was nearly noon. A fading thought echoed in the minds of the party. Continue in the direction you already face. There is life there, life that may lead you to a Plate. Then, the presence was gone, as if a gust of wind had whisked it away. ((You'll find a few wild Pokemon. Most of them will flee, but some will be hostile. I'll let this free run for a while.))

[Interest Check] Fate: Full Moon

True. . . I'm unfamiliar with the series itself though, so I need to bounce ideas around somewhere. -
Hukuna is the universe according to him, so technically HukunaXEverything. Though that would be a form of masturbation so idk.

So, what's this about a "secret adventure" in the demo?

[Interest Check] Fate: Full Moon

Yeah, that'd make sense. @Sheep: that makes things a bit easier, then. Is it bad that I was thinking of Mordred simply because of the Blind Guardian song? Speaking of, I should totally do Beowulf provided Bfroger decides to stay within established canon. Only problem is everyone's going to be Saber and, uh, Beowulf never uses anything except for a sword and his bare hands. -

Theoden? I would see someone else as a Rider, like (the movie version of) Arwen. Eowyn could totally be Saber. ANYway, now I gotta think of someone. EDIT: It's Bfroger's decision though. If you say I can use Rand then you get an interweb hug. -

Well, he's kind of a nuke in the series. The most OP things he can do with the One Power are probably Traveling (low-cost travel between any two locations given you know your current location well, and Traveling somewhere gives you sufficient knowledge to do so. Energy cost is proportional to the size of the gateway and how long you maintain it; Rand is capable of transporting armies.) and balefire, which basically works backward in time to completely and utterly annihilate people. (Get hit by a weak beam, and you actually died a few seconds ago; get hit by a massive blast and it could be months, undoing all of your actions during that time.) anw though I'm not familiar with Fate's standards and it looks like I can't use him anyway Q.Q I really don't like pre-20th century literature. TIme to look to mythology. . . how important is the alignment of a Servant in the series? -

Kage waved his hand dismissively. "If we get a noise complaint, then someone will have to point out what noise they're talking about, because all I hear is ART!" After rising to a somewhat flamboyant crescendo with that, he returned to a more normal tone as he moved over to Ryan's side. "Whaddya need?" -

I'm trying to think of Rand's relevant traits. (Also, looking at the wiki, the series is rife with apparent aberrations in the system, ranging from classless or uniquely classed Servants to Servants summoning other Servants, a Servant from the future, etc.) lol i'm actually using a spoiler to hide spoilers for once Not sure what class he would be tbh, though you could rule out most of them. In order, I would think Caster, then Saber, then Berserker. -

Rand was the one that I would want to use but he's sort of enormously overpowered so my character would probably be the equivalent of a watch battery power-wise, lel. -
By the way, if you're in the men's dorms at all, you can probably hear the music. Kage likes his power metal (and so do I.)

"Mostly bass. I can haul pretty well on the guitar too, since they're not all that different mechanically. The style is different for most music, yeah, and you don't really play chords on a bass unless you want your fingers to bleed, but the notes are just lower. I'm also a decent singer, though I can't do it justice without accompaniment." He walked over to the hub and fumbled about in his pockets for a bit. He withdrew an old-looking mp3 player and a pair of earbuds. He put one of them in, and listened intently while he thumbed a button or two on the player. Finally, he made a satisfied noise and hooked the player up to the hub. He turned the volume up to a nearly earsplitting level and hit play. -

"Nah. People just make a huge deal out of this crap, and at this point I'll get in trouble for lying. Although, I didn't actually lie. I just never told them." He sighed, and his tone changed to a happier one. "I can't wait for my instruments to get here, though. There's nothing to do around here other than hang out with people and Pokemon, and I miss playing my music. Come to think of it, have I ever played you anything off of my mp3 player?" -

One more thing on characters of literature: A character in a book undergoes a compressed version of the same process that causes a legendary hero (i.e. Hecules/Herakles) to come about. In the latter, a character is constructed over time by adding details derived from the acts of one or multiple people and attributing the acts of various individuals to one person. Their personal characteristics are constructed from the traits of various people that were involved in the deeds. Usually they're not an actual person, or they are but they had characteristics assigned to them that they may not have possessed in life, whether due to association with another person or simple exaggeration. Many authors create characters by drawing inspiration from existing stories. Rand al'Thor, for example, has a definite Messianic color to his character; he possesses power that could be considered divine, he fights the forces of evil (in a literal way, in this example), he's even said to have been "born of a maiden" at one point. He's also got the near-stereotypical heroic origin; grew up in a small village, never thought he would amount to much, but grows into a hero over his long journey. So, he's no more or less real than Lancelot, who was probably never one specific person. -

As they slowly made their way to the dorms, Kage asked Ryan a question. "Do you think the school screens the mail? Because I just realized that I might get into trouble for something I sent for a couple weeks ago." He was referring to a number of things, actually. He wasn't concerned about his instruments (though he missed them dearly), but a semi-portable Braille display+keyboard combo, a cane, and a compact Braille typewriter might occasion comment. Ryan would probably know the list of things he had sent for; Kage had done it with his help, after all. ((Just go with it; I was going to have Kage ask him to do this in the first few days but never got the chance.)) -

Kage gave a good mock sulk when Ryan mentioned saving food for Danielle. "Fiiiiine, I won't eat ALL the food." He laughed. "I think you're just fattening me up so you can use me in one of your dishes, but I can't complain about the process. Just make sure to season me pretty heavily when you decide to stick a fork in me." He adjusted his grip on Ryan, just happening to go a bit lower on his back. "So, shall we? Head back to the dorm, that is, not stick a fork in me." -

"My name is Tsukihashi Kageharu, but you can just call me Kage. Now, for Hydreigon. As Drake explained it, it was abducted as a Deino by some poachers. They used it to hunt with. When he grew up to be a Hydreigon, they blinded him to make him fear them or something. Doesn't matter why they did it, it's disgusting. Anyway, now Hydreigon fears and pretty much hates humans other than Drake, andl he thought we were attacking, so he fought back." Kage shook his head. "Makes you wonder why people are so cruel." -

Kage returned the hug warmly before replying, still holding Ryan up. "Oh, where do I start? I kind of wandered around in he woods for a while, then I bumped into Claude. A Tyrantrum showed up -she was badass- with her two babies, and we played for a bit. Well, I played. Claude ran around in terror." With a barely noticeable tone of irritation, he added, "He tried to play catch with me. It didn't work. Anyway, though, the real excitement was the Hydreigon. I think Danielle know more than I do about that, though. I showed up just before the whole thing ended." -

"I do have a name, if you cared to ask," he responded to Danielle as he moved in the direction his Pokemon told him she pointed. He heard Ryan say something to her and promptly take a tumble as usual. He ran over to him and helped him back to his feet, sensing the injury from various clues. "Your knight in shining armor returns," he playfully quipped as he lifted Ryan. "So, what'd you manage to do to your leg?" -

Well, the literature I had in mind isn't universally known like LotR.
