  1. "Pretty sure. Drake said the dragons here were friendly though, right? Plus, you have Fairy-types, right?" Kage didn't particularly want Claude to leave him mostly alone with the beast, despite his words. However, he didn't want to leave and miss the chance to befriend one of the mighty dragons.

  3. Stovetop popcorn best popcorn. Soaked in butter and with enough salt to make your heart explode.
  4. Kage was filled with a mix of fear and excitement. "Uh, Claude, is that what I think it is?" Unless he was mistaken about the roar, that was a Salamence sounding out. . . something. He didn't know THAT much, and he sincerely hoped it wasn't a challenge. However, the footsteps nearby didn't sound like a quadruped. The cadence was wrong, and the footfalls were far too heavy. Could it possibly be the ancient King of Pokemon, the mighty Tyrantrum?
  5. Marcus laughed. "Well, you're not going to be doing a particularly good job at that unless you come down here and face me like a man. Unless you can somehow stop me from the ceiling, but, well, if you could do that, you would have done so already." He turned to walk down the hall toward where he assumed the others in this place were.
  6. Titles would be neat but artwork would kick ass. I'd probably choose Zekrom since that mofo carried me through a battle almost singlehandedly.
  7. As the other students dispersed throughout the reserve, Kage had just sort of been wandering about, enjoying the sounds and smells of the area. He heard the calls of a few dragons as he meandered about, eventually making his way toward the woods. He heard the calls of a few Sliggoo as he made his way from the water, but didn't stop to listen for long. He wondered if Drake really had every Dragon-type living in the woods here. It'd be rather hard to make room for every single one, especially the hyper-aggressive ones like the Hydreigon line. Plus, there was one that was long-dead until fossil reanimation was perfected. Tyrantrum were also supposed to be particularly aggressive; they shouldn't be too hard to find. Abruptly, Lucas alerted him to the presence of another human nearby. Kage had been thinking and hadn't noticed him speaking, but he was pretty sure he recognized the voice. "Claude? Is that you?"
  8. At first glance, no revenge killers other than maybe Keldeo, nothing can switch into anything, and you only have one thing to maintain momentum with (Talonflame). Recommend swapping to a Dual Screens set on Espeon to buffer your team's defenses, possibly carrying Baton Pass to bring in teammates safely. M-Scizor might work well for your team, too; gives more priority and Scizor is almost incapable of losing momentum. It can also carry Defog, which helps keep Talonflame alive a bit longer. Recommending a bulkier Zapdos with Volt Switch, too; Idk that Zapdos hits hard enough to justify Agility.
  9. "Hey, hey, hey, there's no reason to get mad," Kyahnna said placatingly. "Don't get me wrong, I'd love to just charge in, but all he's saying is that we need to take the time to ensure we don't die before we can find a cure." She strode over and placed a hand on her shoulder. "It'll be alright; all we have to do is pop in, grab a cure, and not get mauled by anything." She was trying to cheer the other woman up; couldn't have people in bad shape like this already.
  10. yays Shame we never had our last battle, tho.
  11. Marcus looked about, extremely confused for a moment. President Obama . . . ? There was nowhere the voice could have come from in the long hallway; it was empty save for the corpse of the titan, and the voice wasn't echoing from a long way off. He thought about ignoring it for a moment, but curiosity seized him. If it didn't come horizontally, and there's a floor below me. . . His eyes searched the ceiling. They quickly locked onto the only thing that could have made the sound; a man that appeared to be hanging there. "You know, you don't really look like the President."
  12. I proposed something similar that was entirely player-driven rather than being based on current events, like one I saw on another forum. Lots of people had characters occupying positions of authority, and everyone had their own agenda, so it was pretty action packed and self-regulation. Most importantly, there was very little waiting on the host.
  13. Kyahnna watched and listened to the introductions, quickly assessing her other team members. She wasn't much used to teamwork; most of her job usually consisted of "shoot the vicious animal if it gets too close to anyone" or "go see if there is anything interesting over in this vicious/hostile/somewhat toxic area." She did have a few thoughts on the other members of their little squad, though. She didn't like Vixen; too cold, not enough positive energy. Definitely not healthy to have along, though it could be an act. The next two - Answell and Pax - struck her as green. Odd, that you'd get green people on an expedition like this, so she didn't pass judgement yet. You never knew what people looked like underneath, though it was a pain stripping that external covering off. Big she liked. He looked like the type that took his job seriously, but still enjoyed it, and wasn't a pain to be stuck with. She thought Kenshin should have shown a little more gusto; this was a once-in-a-lifetime mission, after all, and he looked bored. "I'm Kyahnna Williams," she said calmly, her British accent still not quite erased despite being passed on through generations and a massive distance in space, "and my job is to shoot things. More specifically, I specialize in midrange combat, which is ideal for dealing with all the hungry critters that live out here. As for why I'm here, well. . ." She trailed off for a moment. Her reason for being here struck her as a bit petty after the others spoke. "I want to help the city," she said, letting the half-truth pass for her answer. It was true that she was concerned for the city, but the real reason she was here was because it was exciting.
  14. Nathan had to choke back a flurry of insults. We're being arrested? Are you kidding me? We were the first - and ONLY - ones to respond to and eliminate enemies in the base and we're getting shit on for it? He wanted to say that and far more, but instead he returned his GAOs to their capsules and raised his hands, his rage evident on his face.
  15. I think I could like Pikachu if Nintendo didn't try so hard to cram it down my throat.

Why does the protagonist always have to be naive and over virtuous. If your trying to relate to real people: real people aren't like that.

Well, Anime has a bit of an excuse, in the fact that a lot of the time they're trying to put across a positive image for moralistic images and such, so the hero, who mya be a badass, also has to be a stand up, god individual so as to influence the kids.

  16. Well, keep in mind that there is a titanic amount of plasma in a star. Assuming that we've developed the ability to generate and use energy much more efficiently than we can now (think today vs. the 1700s), it's not unreasonable to say that we could develop a handheld weapon capable of tossing small amounts at people, or a warhead that dispersed a larger amount over a city-wide area.
  17. Plasma still makes sense for this; it's IMMENSELY destructive if we're talking the kind you would find in a star. A bolt of lightning exposes you to plasma for a fraction of a second and has the capacity to blast trees apart and instantly kill people. If you threw a chunk of it at someone there wouldn't be much left of the afflicted area.
  18. It's currently impossible with modern technology, but if you could project a sort of electromagnetic field, it could contain plasma. If it lost power, however, the plasma would basically do whatever the hell it wanted, so it would probably just sort of blow up and melt everything in a small radius. As for how the plasma is generated, you could probably pass an electric current through a gas to ionize it; the more current, the hotter the plasma. Throwing projectiles of it would probably be achieved by using what amounts to a railgun; move a magnetic charge along the barrel rapidly and the plasma follows it. ((I actually don't know that much about plasma lol))
  19. It's worth mentioning that plasma has mass, and therefore isn't a pure energy weapon. If you shot a "beam" of plasma at someone, it would be closer to a jet of really hot, energetic water than a laser.
