  1. Max hurried around the edge of the field to where Tiberius had been thrown, and returned him to his ball. He ran back toward the entrance of the gym, and gave Sonny a questioning look before letting out a short "Oh!" and releasing the two fainted Pokemon. He immediately began focusing on them, trying to heal their wounds. Meanwhile, Sarcus grunted in equal parts annoyance, frustration, and concern. Gallant looked alright, though he wasn't capable of continuing to fight. He sighed, then walked up and helped the Pokemon to his feet. He simply said, "You did alright," and helped Gallant a short distance back. "Now, Absolution. I'm counting on you. We've got this. " The Dark-type looked at Sonny, then nodded. He walked onto the field, and released the hold on his natural Pressure, affecting everyone in the room. "Start with Hone Claws!"
  2. Are you anticipating that Gallade gets KO'd? He got hit for around 20%, and then the Overheat came from -2 Sp.A, so it's a bit of a stretch. (Unless he got hit again somewhere.) 0 SpA Litleo Overheat vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Gallade on a critical hit: 144-171 (51.9 - 61.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO If you are, that's all right, since this isn't a simulator. (I also feel like I'm being a poor sport.)
  3. What do you think when you see this character: http://i.imgur.com/1gIQrnJ.jpg
  4. "Absorbing light will make a pretty large commotion, I think. I've got another idea. Flux, have you got anything with a decent amount of processing power on you? We could find a way into the computer system controlling the cameras, and loop the footage. We'd basically be invisible. The drones would probably be immune to the same, so Raito might be able to short them out with a Discharge." He looked around. "After that, we go in, find the main security room, and subdue any guards that spot us on the way in. We disable all of the security systems in the building, and creep our way to the main control room. Sound like a plan?"
  5. First thing I listened to with my brand new Beats? Wheel of Time. The second thing. Pokemon Sapphire version.

  6. "Gallant, Protect yourself from Girafarig!" Though he was still distracted by Nemea, he maintained enough focus to create a barrier that the Retaliate bounced off of harmlessly. Endeavor, on the other hand, hit Tiberius squarely, turning his own attack against him. He whined in pain, and looked to Max for orders. "Now that you're close, use your Close Combat! Afterward, recover using Morning Sun!" The Arcanine leapt savagely at the Litleo, and threw a number of reckless bites and body slams, then started gathering light, attempting to recover health. After the attack bounced off of Gallant's barrier, Sarcus shouted, "Use your own Close Combat!" However, Gallant was once again gazing at the Litleo with affection and a bit of concern at Tiberius's assault.
  7. 0+ Atk Gallade Rock Slide vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Staravia: 248-294 (98.8 - 117.1%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO 0+ Atk Gallade Rock Slide vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Litleo: 224-264 (84.5 - 99.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO 0 SpA Staravia Air Cutter vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Gallade: 56-68 (20.2 - 24.5%) -- guaranteed 5HKO Just justifying my actions. (I thought Air Cutter would do more.)
  8. Probably. Though it would make more sense to say Head Smash just plain missed, since there is almost no situation in which Staravia survives Head Smash. (It's sort of like Choice Specced Latios's Draco Meteor. It's a lot weaker the second time around, but still enough to OHKO.) Here's a couple damage calcs. The absolute ideal situation for survival, with Aron's attack as low as it will possibly go: -1 0- Atk Aron Head Smash vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Staravia: 128-152 (40.7 - 48.4%) -- guaranteed 3HK Something more realistic: -1 252+ Atk Aron Head Smash vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Staravia: 414-488 (164.2 - 193.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO Just saiyan.
  9. Like I said in the other thread, you implied Aron would survive the attack since you sort of kept attacking after it should have fainted. also Head Smashing Staraptor wouldn't really be an overcommitment, it would make complete sense to hit you with a SE 140 BP move.
  10. Max grinned. "Dodge the Air Cutter using Extremespeed and hit the Litleo!" The Arcanine rushed forward, deftly dodging the blades of air using his incredible alacrity, then launched a tackle at Nemea. Meanwhile, Sarcus was desperately trying to get Gallant to use a Rock Slide as the Air Cutter sped toward him and struck him solidly, sending him to one knee. The Gallade endured the attack, however, and the shock caused him to regain his focus. He sent a torrent of stone flying at Nemea and Maverick.
  11. Max winced when he saw Argentia get hit by the Overheat. She was definitely down for the count, and Max recalled her before the Staravia's attack could land. He knew that wasn't precisely within typical ethics, but he didn't want her to get hurt. He called Tiberius forward, who startled Sonny's team with an intimidating glare and a deep growl. "Gallade, Swords Dance!" Sarcus ordered, but Gallade was too busy watching Nemea with fascination. He smacked his palm onto his forehead. "Come on, man. . ."
  12. Wait, Aegislash gets Head Smash? It doesn't even have a head . . .

  13. Sarcus gritted his teeth. I know how to battle. "Gallant, ignore the Litleo and use Trick Room!" The Gallade tore his focus away from Nemea and focused intently, calling on the psychic powers of his evolutionary line to distort space, inverting the relative disadvantage their team had in Speed. With the Trick Room in place, the Whirlwind keeping the Aron at bay actually helped it move closer to the opposing team. Max saw an immediate opportunity. "Argentia, Head Smash!" The small Rock-type threw herself at the Staravia, a frightfully powerful and crushing headbutt headed straight for it.
  14. Well. This was unexpected. Sarcus hadn't been sure what Sonny was up to when he led them in here, but this wasn't it. He turned to Max, and reached out telepathically with the assistance of Metang. I guess we've got to work together. Max jumped slightly when Sarcus sent his message, but quickly recovered once he realized what was happening. You can hear me, right? Of course; I'm the one maintaining the link. We are helping, Metang interjected. Yes, yes, everyone knows that. I didn't. Well now you do. Anyway, let's get to strategy. I've got offensive powerhouses for all of my partners, though Chomp isn't strong enough to battle, and Blues is still rather weak. Metang is more bulky, while Absolution relies on his sheer attacking strength and accuracy to win. I'm also not sure if I trust Gallant to behave, though his Close Combat will tear through Sonny's team given the chance. I like the idea of your Gallade fighting. Who else were you gonna use? Sensing that Sarcus was prepared to drop his hostile feelings, temporarily at least, he gradually did the same. Metang creeps me out, he accidentally sent through the link, however. What's your problem with Metang? Seriously, what the hell? He took a threatening step toward the dark-haired Trainer. Don't get your briefs in a bunch, I didn't mean anything. I don't wear - nevermind. Speaking of xem, though, I was planning on using Metang for this battle because of xyr Steel typing. What about Bite? Good point. Absolution might be a good choice; he's got a pretty versatile moveset. Gallant and Absolution, sound OK? Sure, why not. I've got a mix of Pokemon on my team. Argentia might help fill the gap left by your team defensively, because of her high defense. Tiberius is also good at taking hits. Ah, you have an Aron? My dad has an Aggron . . . Sarcus trailed off, remembering who he was "speaking" to. That sounds good. We all set? I think so. Both teens turned to face Sonny. Max tossed out the ball containing his Aron, who looked about, slightly confused, before realizing the situation. Sarcus returned Chomp, Blues, and Metang to their balls, and waved Gallant forward. The Fighting-type looked a bit fuddled about his battling partner, but his trainer made a placating gesture, and Gallant moved his focus back to the impending battle. "We're ready," Sarcus called. (Battle theme for this particular instance:)
  15. Sarcus opened his mouth, as if to offer a retort, but he bit down on it as he swallowed his pride, resulting in his reply becoming nothing more than an irritated grunt. He stood from his seat stiffly and gave a sharp wave to his team to signal them forward as he moved in the same direction. Absolution prodded the two dozing Pokemon awake, and they stumbled forward a bit before following. Interfering with my- what? How on Earth was that interfering with my education? Max sighed and got up, walking after Sonny. Tiberius looked intently at the Sawsbuck, sizing it up, then walked after his Trainer, still not-so-subtly trying to get someone to pay attention to him. What does he mean by "interfering with my education?" Does he think I bombed that one test because of him. . . ?
  16. At the question, Sarcus looked up, a defiant expression on his face. He stared straight into Sonny's eyes. "No. I don't. I've done nothing worthy of being sent here." His Absol, kept out of his ball as usual, pawed at him as if to caution him. Sarcus glanced down at the touch and gave a short, crisp shake of his head, then returned his glare to Sonny. His Gallade was overly alert as usual, glancing about this way and that, while Blues and Chomp were dozing, slumped next to each other, the Pawniard's blades not seeming to bother the Gible's tough hide. "Not really," Max started at the exact moment Sarcus did. He gave him a quick look, then returned his attention to Sonny as Sarcus spoke, leaning back in his chair. May as well relax. He idly stroked Tiberius, who looked a bit lonely without the others beside him. The Arcanine was a bit perturbed that no one was paying attention to him, and he let out a small yip.
  17. After class ended, Max stood up and walked out of the room, since he hadn't taken his things with him to the class. Nearly immediately after leaving the room, someone walked straight into him, sending both of them stumbling. The offending student walked off as soon as he regained his balance, but not before turning and offering an earnest - if hurried - apology. While he didn't seem to notice who Max was due to his hurried retreat, Max was startled to realize that it was none other than Sarcus, heading to the same place he was. Max stood for a moment, shrugged, then walked after him leisurely, his path cleared in the other Trainer's wake. Both of them arrived in the detention room after a short time, Max taking a spot near the middle, and Sarcus sitting in a far corner.
  18. Also, I recommend joining the Poke-people RP. It's actually quite interesting, though with a slightly different tone than the other currently popular RPs.
  19. ((Grass said to take over for a bit.)) Emerald's eyes flashed as she gave Jake a thunderous look, a look that promised swift retribution. Rather than peeling his hide off with a tongue-lashing, however, she simply stared Jake down, and made two simple statements, an icy calm in her voice. "Detention. Until I say you don't have it," she preempted. She then made two sharp gestures as she sat back down, one dismissing Jake from the classroom, the other calling the next student up. The poor student caught some of Emerald's fury, and nearly knocked herself out as she skittered up to the front to heal the next Pokemon. ---------------------------- Max awoke with a start. "Shit," he cursed before he caught himself. Luckily, no one caught his slip, as the class was too busy trying to simultaneously ignore and pay rapt attention to what was happening in front of them. "Oh, come on, dude. . ." he muttered when he discerned what was happening. "You need to stop doing that to trigger-happy teachers like that."

I see. While friends are well and good you don't always need people to not feel lonely. And sometimes loneliness can be solved by throwing yourself out there even though it sounds dangerous.
