I would carry HP Ice or Signal Beam over Thunder Wave, personally. Jolteon isn't really the best statuser, imo, because it's so frail and has that amazing speed to abuse. I know it sounds odd, but I use Shell Bell on Arcanine to compensate for recoil. It's going to be attacking every turn anyway, and it essentially works as a recoil reducer. Agree with Magic Bounce over Synchronize; unless you're doing something gimmicky like a Flame Orb set, Magic Bounce is better in every situation. Depending on how much you want to stall with Espeon, Stored Power seems to be the STAB of choice for Calm Mind sets.

I was actually wondering; legendaries aren't allowed, but what about other Pokemon that are typically ubers? (i.e., kung fu chicken)

He gave Jake a slight look at the mention of Sarcus's name, but otherwise ignored it. "For the most part. I've got a free period when you have history, and vis versa, but otherwise it's exactly the same. Except for magic classes, of course. I never really asked; which do you take? I know you're in healing class, but what about your other one? I take offensive magic."

I should probably explain when you would hear each character's theme. For Sarcus, you would hear his rival theme if you knew him, and he knew you, or he was being particularly friendly to a stranger. Pretty much every other time, you'd hear his normal theme. The only time you hear his serious theme is if someone is going to die/be seriously harmed as a result of the battle being won or lost. For Max, the same conditions apply for his rival theme. His normal theme would be what you hear most of the time, but if he's truly serious (and not necessarily in a life-threatening situation,) you'll hear the serious theme.

Braius relaxed, letting the repressed anger drain away. He loosed his hold on his weapons and put them back in their sheaths, then walked quickly up to the newcomer. He stuck his hand out abruptly, fingers extended for a handshake. "Good to have another person in the group." Hopefully, showing trust would beget the same in return; or, at least, the newcomer would show his true self more quickly if he meant to betray them. -

I'm not trying to power play anyone; it's just that some of my favorite Pokemon are pseudo-legendaries. If it's an issue, I could drop one, but I really don't want to. Also, I might swap out Haxorus for something else.

Max turned back to Jake. He put a comforting hand on the younger Trainer's shoulder. "I'll be totally honest with you. I don't know how you feel. I've never really had problems with connecting with people. There is one thing I think I can say, though. You're thinking about that right now. That means you care about being nice. If you didn't, you wouldn't look so sad about it." Max removed his hand. "Now come on, cheer up. You still haven't really introduced me to Grace. Maybe if you hang out with her, some of her gooey emotional connection stuff will rub off on you."

Giratina's theme, while not the greatest music ever (though it's up there), is one of the most fitting pieces of music in the games.
