  1. He sighed in frustration. "Let's just go home," Sarcus said to his team. "I'm exhausted, and you guys have been doing more work than I have." He led his team back to the home of the family he was staying with until he could obtain one of his own. Once inside, he quietly crept to his room to avoid waking them, and basically fell onto his bed. Absolution curled up next to him, Gallant laid alongside him, and Blues laid down at the foot of the bed, trying to avoid cutting up the sheets. Beldum anchored itself to the wall, and then was motionless.
  2. Sarcus saw Jake leap out of the house, followed quickly by his Pokemon. They looked tired from whatever they had been doing earlier. Excellent, he thought. He turned to whisper to his Pokemon. "Gallant, take out Deino with a Moonblast. Absolution, I want you to Sucker Punch Houndour if it tries to attack. Blues, take out Sneasel with a Fighting-type move. Beldum, hit Riolu with Zen Headbutt. I'd like to see him get out of this." He waved his team forward. "Go!" he hissed.
  3. Murdoc repeatedly ran through his ACU's diagnostics as he waited for the quantum gate to power up and be calibrated. One didn't want to screw up calculations like this; rush them, and one was liable to find oneself undergoing atomic fusion with a nearby mountain. Needless to say, he was okay with waiting. Nothing could go wrong with this operation; the Order was advancing on Seton's Clutch again, and there were rumors that a rogue computer known as Q.A.I. was assisting the Seraphim and their cronies. The teal stripes beneath his right eye began glowing, revealing their existence; each stripe was a symbol of rank, though each Aeon chose the form and location due to personal preference. He had three, meaning that while he outranked most commanders he ran across, he was low in the overall command structure. He was due for a rank increase soon, but with how hard the Coalition was being pressed, they couldn't afford any changes in the command structure. An indicator flashed, alerting him that the gate was ready. He checked the massive mech's readouts once more. Murdoc would have preferred to gate in with a fully upgraded ACU, since he configured it in the same way for every conflict, but the gates could only move a certain amount of mass at a time safely. He moved forward, the ACU fitting him like a second skin. Murdoc was almost unaware of the fact that he was looking at displays and readouts; he had been fighting for a long time. He had been assigned to his first command during the Infinite War. The horrifying conflict had only been the beginning. He stepped though the quantum gate, and with a flash of light, arrived on the battlefield.
  4. Sarcus heard a commotion from where he had lost control earlier that abruptly stopped, jolting him out of his sullen state. Ah, well. I had better head back home. I'm sure the family I'm staying with is worried about where I am. He made his way back to the village a short distance away. Instead of heading to his house, however, he heard a lot of noise coming from another home in the village. People around here are pretty quiet. I wonder what's going on. . ?
  5. Somewhere in the red fog of rage, Alina's words made it through to Sarcus. After venting at the empty forest for a while, he started to calm down, and what had occurred back there started to sink in. Twice? Twice in one day? What the hell is going on with me? I haven't done that in years, at least not in public. Alina likely won't look at the same way again. Sarcus had always valued the opinions of his teachers. Well, most of them, anyway. And Grace. . . What will Grace think? She seems dead set on being friends with that kid. He slumped down on a nearby tree as the adrenaline energy coursing through his body drained away. Well, so much for that. Now you get to be that kid again. The kid that people whisper about in the halls after he passes them, the kid who everyone thinks is a danger to those around him. ((I hope this doesn't sound too melodramatic. He's not the most rational person during and after an episode like that.))
  6. Eyes still burning, the raging teen cast about for Jake. "You bloody coward! Yeah, attack me while my guard's down and then run! What kind of filthy rat are you?" Sarcus spat. "You're not even worth the trouble of attacking, anyway." Sarcus stormed off into the woods, cursing and ranting at the air. His Pokemon followed at a distance, with Beldum reconsidering xyr earlier decision.
  7. Well, just barely. The knowledge of more advanced mechanics such as those are what prompted me to get back into the game after so many years. The next person is a DotA player.
  8. "BELDUM! TAKE DOWN!" Jake had detonated a bomb in his face, and now Sarcus was pissed. Restrain yourself, but it should still hurt. No lasting injuries, though. If you say so. He scrubbed at his eyes as he began shouting orders to his team, knowing that the other Trainer would probably start replying to his attacks. "Gallant, keep that Deino off of everyone's back! Pawniard, keep Riolu in check with your Fighting moves! Absolution, use Sucker Punch if Sneasel or Houndour try to attack! Beldum, use your judgement after you finish your attack!" His eyes were burning from the powder. "You sneaky, selfish, arrogant little bastard! Attack someone from behind one more time and it'll be the END FOR YOU!" Sarcus had flown into a full blown rage at this point, getting angrier as his energy level rose with each word.
  9. *desperately tries to establish inter-universal connection to other self* (Sarcus is pretty skilled with knives in the Aftermath universe.)
  10. I'm afraid this incarnation of Sarcus never had a reason to learn any self-defense techniques. By the way, are we going to forever be limited to 4 pokemon + 1 legendary in special circumstances?
  11. Sarcus almost choked. Though Jake's meltdown was concerning on a number of levels, it was also, quite frankly, hilarious. He felt a smack on the back of his head, and turned about to see a Gallant trying to put on a stern face. Once he had his laughter safely locked away, he turned to Grace. "You head back. I'll hang out here for a while. The night air is refreshing, and Beldum and I need a little time to bond." The Beldum rolled its eye. "What?"
  12. Sarcus focused. Beldum, I'm not really practiced at this. Could you please assist me? Of course. Sarcus directed his concentration toward Jake. You could just tell me now. Beldum will help relay your message.
  13. Sarcus jumped as Jake abruptly turned and bolted. He sprinted after the kid, dodging the occasional low-hanging branch or irate Spearow, and nearly slammed into Jake when he stopped as suddenly as he started. Panting, he turned to face the Pokemon that had emerged from the bush. He didn't recognize it, so he dug around in his pockets until he located his Pokedex. He pulled it out, and recorded Deino's data. "What the hell was that all about?" Sarcus asked irritably, still out of breath.
  14. I'd like to mention at this point that my sprite is a pain in the ass to reconstruct every time I buy a new item.
  15. "I think xe can answer your first question for xemself." The Beldum floated forward obediently, and performed what appeared to be a nod. "To answer the second question: No, I don't recall seeing any Roselia. We could probably find a Budew somewhere without too much difficulty, though." Reluctantly, he turned to Jake. Part of him didn't want to help the younger Trainer, but another part said that Jake was a person too; a person who seemed to be dealing with some personal issues. Sarcus sighed. "Are you looking for anything? You mentioned Deino earlier. They're pretty rare, but we might be able to hunt one out." Sarcus noticed Jake's sudden fear. "What's wrong?"
