  1. Kusuke had a few moments to clear his head a bit. He almost wished he had a few more Nazis to beat up, but unfortunately(?) there were no real criminal elements to speak of about. Well, the arms dealer was a bit sketchy, but it'd be a bit much to assume he was a criminal and act from there. He might've gone out to find one of the local monsters to hunt instead, and in fact was starting to lean in that direction when Satomi emerged from the smithy looking about as chipper as one could expect from dealing with the ones still within. "Did you manage to get the Idiot Brigade to disband yet, or are they still coming up with new and inventive ways to kill their teammates?" He gave a somewhat rueful smile, trying to make light of the unending frustration that this group seemed to offer up at times.
  2. "'I got lucky this time, so I'm going to start doing the exact same thing again.' Fucking hell, man, you'd better hope I'm around to clean up the mess. Which is all I'll be doing from this point forward, by the way, if you keep messing with this shit." Kusuke shook his head, and began to walk away. To where? He didn't really know. Somewhere people were less suicidally insane, hopefully.
  3. "I just want to point out that nobody, at any point, told me this was some sort of weird-ass demon sword." Kusuke had been slowly edging backward as the confrontation went on. He wasn't too fond of being roped into something like this; while he didn't share the magnitude of Satomi's concern, it was definitely still something to think about. "And, uh, generally one doesn't want to trust visions you get from cursed or demonic artifacts. Not that there are a lot of those where I'm from, it just seems like common sense."
  4. Marisa's smile turned lopsided; she almost regretted the effects she was having on Isobel. Almost. The comment about very appealing things almost demanded a response in kind, too. It was nearly an offer, really, all it was missing was "to do," but an offer that she still wasn't certain she wanted to take quite yet. . . though she wasn't certain she didn't want to take it, either. "Indeed we are," she said, giving her a slightly longer period in which to consider her next conversational move. A thought occurred to her, prompting a frown to flit across her expression for a moment before it reset. "I should really see if I can find a way to get a pair of sending stones to connect across planes. Might need an anchor point, though I'd bet that castle of yours would do just fine. . . Anyway. It'd be good to get ahold of each other," she said, looking right at Isobel. She had to stop herself from apologizing for that.
  5. Mask says nothing, simply drawing the more mundane sword at his belt and fending off the pirates as best he can. When/if Mask can get close to the trash man, they will swap weapons, sheathing their katana and attacking with their Seastone Sword instead.
  6. Marisa made that expression that combined pain and laughter in such a way that only a terrible pun could elicit. "A little more like that and I'll be cursing you with something," she said faux-threateningly, before turning her attention to the actual question. "If I've tried that before, I honestly don't remember. Given the results of all the other food conjuration I've tried, I'd probably get sulfur instead of flour, but I've always been the type to try something at least once." She let that particular statement hang in the air for a moment. "Come to think of it, I haven't got a lot of obligations coming up in the near future, so yeah, we could probably go bake cakes or something."
  7. Satomi's rather quick approach was almost startling. Not that surprising, really, given her obsession with technology, but he'd just been thinking he might've come off as condescending. Evidently not. "A jackhammer is basically a combination of a chisel and a hammer. A mechanism on the inside moves it up and down with enough power to break up rock and concrete. They use them when they need to clear roads or get through stone for whatever reason, and I'd think they'd probably use them for mining, too. There's probably different kinds, too."
  8. "I suppose I could help. I don't suppose you've got a machine or something to do it?" Kusuke tried to think for a moment. Satomi was probably from an era where they quarried stone by hand. . . and Kusuke wasn't an expert on mining technology. There had to be some easier way to do it, though. "Has anyone told you what a jackhammer is yet?"
  9. Myrdwyn followed Cadence about the building; she really didn't seem to be trying very hard to look around, and Cadence seemed to know what she was doing. "I still dunno about this." She somewhat belatedly pitched her voice lower. "Not going to lie, I trust that convoy guy about as far as I can throw 'em. Less, actually, since I bet I could get some decent distance. . ."
  10. Naomi wasn't exactly happy about the prospect of going in with no intel herself, not that it showed much on her face. "Is there any more information on the life sign itself? Motion patterns, fluctuations, that sort of thing." This was starting to sound like the setup to some horror movie; unknown creature aboard mysterious vessel, investigation team goes in, investigation team gets faceful of alien wing-wong. Fortunately, she would be nowhere near the thing. Of course, the odds were that it was something less threatening than that. . . but if the Resanti were worried enough to leave it alone entirely, than so was she.
  11. "Akuma. . . dogs. . . You might strike down my body, but you will never strike down my honor. . .!"
  12. "Good to hear. People get weird, you know? Well, uh, you probably don't, actually. . . Anyway. It's not the most popular occupation." Marisa shrugged. "Just wanted to lay that on the table. Speaking of things that get put on tables, it would be great if we could raid the wine cellar around here, but I'm not sure there'd be any left, going off the little I've heard of the situation. Suppose I could try to conjure some, but for some reason none of the food I summon ends up tasting like it should."
  13. Kusuke . . . more or less ignored Calvera's presence; he was focused on something else, after all. He wasn't exactly bothered by her presence, he just didn't want her within a mile if they were fighting anything until she learned that you had to be careful with ranged attacks into close quarters. "Well, that was less awful than I expected. Should I be noting anything in particular here, or. . .?"
  14. The plush was still for a few moments. And then, a slight up and down motion of the head. Hesitant, or just difficult? Hard to tell.
  15. The gunfire did in fact get some amount of attention from the nearby soldiers, including at least one who aimed a bow at the man for a moment before deciding that it was probably this group being. . . eclectic.

  17. Marisa offered up a smile at the compliment; it's not like it was anything she hadn't heard before, but it was still nice to hear. And it was coming from someone that, well, wasn't some greasy taverngoer or a slightly more frequently washed but equally slimy noble. "Marisa, as I said earlier. I guess you could call me a professional adventurer and demonologist." She frowned for a moment. "That doesn't bother you, does it? I mean, I assume it doesn't, since you still walked up and talked to me after you saw me throwing them around, but. . ."
  18. "Well, you see, it's less summoning a person and more summoning their legend. So, the story of the battle of Nageshino became one of my Noble Phantasms, as well as the title of Demon King of the Sixth Heaven. They did take that temple a little too seriously, honestly. The monks had to go, it couldn't be helped! Still, fear is a valuable tool." She gave the necromancer a knowing glance with this. "But yes, the woman standing before you is not quite 'Oda Nobunaga, the warlord of the Sengoku,' but rather 'that person's legend.' Does that make sense to you?"
  19. Hiroki shook her head. "I don't, um, know. The old orc guy, um, had some way of talking to objects, I think? Um, I don't know if that's really an object, though. . ." She continued to side-eye the plush on occasion; it still moved on its own, albeit not particularly productively. Wasn't it dangerous to have here? "Aren't there um, people that can use magic around?"
  20. Kusuke sighed. "Awesome. You're lucky I'm nice and not a good decision maker." Kusuke started toward Leo, punctuating the movement with a somewhat irritable wave. "Well? Where's it at?"
  21. Marisa giggled a bit; it was her turn to blush a bit. Being too gay in a crowd, she wasn't quite used to it being referred to quite that specifically. She'd taken a seat at Isobel's offer, immediately assuming a relaxed lounging position (that, while not flagrantly showcasing anything, seemed to do so as if by accident); it seemed that the curator of this library spent a fair amount of time here, or simply wanted to keep up the appearance of having fairly nice furnishings for it. "Yeah, I get what you mean, heh. People get weird." She wondered just how far the other woman wanted to take things here. She wasn't really sure herself, but apparently she'd been willing to go and find a private space where presumably nobody would be bothering them for a while.
