  1. Arturia wandered off the field, rubbing at her face and her expression twisting a bit, her nose moving about. She touched her finger to her nostril; it'd hurt, but she wasn't bleeding. She took her place off the main playing area, leaning up against the wall with an exaggerated sigh. It was a little unsettling, watching Kaede; the girl was usually utterly unreadable, but this time she was pretty clearly angry. It was almost . . . touching, given the target of her anger and what had incited it. Lilith was still over there, so it's not like she could start a conversation with her. . . she still didn't know what to do even if she could, but she was pretty good at winging it once she had her foot in the metaphorical door. It was still crazy to think about. Miss Katherine being Kallisto? She had been fairly certain that if the goddesses were real, they must be cruel or uncaring. . . Or more limited than you'd think, which seemed to be the case. And now one goddess had her on a mission to try and protect another one, who apparently couldn't be told she was one for. . . reasons. She'd have to ask about that at some point.
  2. "Can we fight something that isn't nauseating next?" Donate three turns to Jun, use final action to Recall whoever has the lowest health.
  3. Mitsurugi darts in with the fury of an Eruption, dealing [152!] damage to Saber. Saber continues to charge her attack, the sinister flames around her making it painful to stand nearby. Magnum gives some strategic advice to Soryn, yelling something about a blitz. Fire spreads over the ground toward Snow, forming a ring around her. "This is the roar of my soul. . ." The second Bel Lahmu spreads its limbs out, and makes a bizarre and unsettling chittering noise. The air ripples around the second Wyvern, granting it +11 STR! The first Wyvern dive-bombs Snow, attempting to pin her beneath its claws! [19 vs 22] Snow manages to keep her footing. It takes 5 burning damage. Atton inspires Perlita, granting her first strike for three rounds! Perlita sends a burst of positive energy toward Soryn, healing him for [34] HP. Snow stands there, looking tanky and rather unbothered by the flames. The second Lahmu scrabbles at Snow, but it doesn't even seem to be trying to affect her physically. . . Suddenly, she finds herself much more open to attack. [Stalwart Stance removed] "Polished by hatred. . . !" The flames around Snow close in and grow in height. Gabriel blasts Saber with flames, dealing [35] damage and leaving a lasting burn. Soryn impales Saber with a multitude of bloody needles, dealing [134] damage! His followup deals [34] damage. Magna does a lot of things to the unfortunate Bel Lahmu along with her minions, sending it to the ground as a charred husk. Edmond welds Lahmu B, dealing [39] damage. The next attack will deal [28] more damage. Wyvern B slashes at Soryn with its talons, dealing [25] damage! Three of the Dragon Teeth attack Mitsurugi for [28] damage. One attacks Edmond for [5] damage, and the final one attacks Soryn for [13]. "Le Grondement de la Haine!" A series of spikes erupts from the ground, stabbing at Snow for [3*3] damage and setting her alight once again. She also feels a lingering sense of hatred and malice about her. The first Lahmu scrabbles at Mitsurugi, slowing her down magically. It burns for 10 damage. Spicy HG strikes the wyvern with a flurry of blows, dealing a massive [2] damage. Status Initiative
  4. "Doesn't getting into fights come with the whole 'save the multiverse' bit?" Kusuke stood up, stretched, and headed toward the blacksmith to wait for the rest of the group. Kusuke joins the fight.
  5. Arturia hadn't been paying much attention, in all honesty. She took a few stray hits and didn't deal many out herself, but managed to hold up just enough to not find herself a total dead weight for the team. Which was impressive, given that her attention was split between talking to Kaede and attempting to process the slowly-dawning existential crisis while also figuring out how to tell Lilith she was the Goddess of Power without actually doing that because apparently it could be very bad. "Uh, by the way Kaede, weird question, but do you know Lil-" PING! It was probably a good thing that Arturia had swapped to contacts after pressure from her mother a couple years ago, because any pair of glasses she had been wearing would have likely suffered more than a bit at the impact they just took at the hands of Riley. It was enough to send her staggering, partially due to the total lack of preparation, though she less-than-gracefully managed to recover before she fell all the way over. "Ow. . ."
  6. Myrdwyn, for her part, was in her usual condition: a bit bored, a bit surly, and more than a bit drunk. She was below the deck, separate from Ecquis for once; apart from that, the wyvern was in his usual condition as well, sleeping on the deck in a spot that only a wyvern could find comfortable (or quiet enough to sleep on. She had an open bottle of something vaguely foul-smelling in one hand as she reclined in a hammock, and another with a different label resting on the ground. She wondered idly who she was going to have to play counselor to next. Maybe Cadence was going to be wrapped up in some angst again. . .
  7. The spider and jars had vanished at a speed that one wouldn't have thought possible from someone who spend most of their time amongst dusty old tomes instead of doing work, accompanied by a panicked squeak from Morgan. They breathed a slight sigh of relief when Coel appeared and called the guard that had been walking toward them off, though Morgan was still visibly unsettled by the event. That could have been bad, the guard could have kicked Morgan out or killed Marcus, or even worse made them get rid of all of their pets. . .
  8. "Not a problem, Satomi-san. Don't worry about it." If anything, I owe you. He still felt bad about the spat earlier, even if he was (from his perspective) at least partially justified. Not to mention the lingering unpleasantness from earlier; it was pretty hard to just move on from your teammate turning into a horrible monster in front of your eyes, especially when you managed to facilitate the process. Still, dwelling on it wasn't going to help. "We should probably keep moving, though. I'd rather not experience that again."
  9. Kusuke nodded, walking over and placing one hand on her shoulder. The girl felt the distinctly odd sensation of her body traveling backward in time without her perception quite moving with it, her wounds repairing themselves by simply reversing the processes which had caused them in the first place. "Better?" he asked. While he waited for the girl to respond, he performed a similar thing on his clothing; it was a lot easier to kick it back in time a few minutes than fixing a person without sending their mind back too.
  10. "I will," Lucine said, in a coldly detached, mechanical voice. It seemed she'd given control over to Opal and the previously-referenced combat routines at some point during the shouting. Now, though, she was in her magical girl outfit (something rather at odds with her demeanor;) Opal was held in one hand, the pair of cannons apparently just stuck together, leaving the other free to assist the rodent-like individual with his cannon. Help Law fire the Peacemaker, using SYN.
  11. Recall self and then stab the shit out of the arrow zombie. If it dies, keep going to the others.
  12. "Stand back, Akuma. You aren't only dealing with foreigners right now. We're more than capable of defending ourselves, and if you try anything, there will be hell to pay from both the Yukihana and Ishikawa." Hoshiko's bow was already strung, an arrow held and ready to be drawn. "Do you understand?"
  13. Kyou nodded, dropping her utensils and standing up, with an apologetic glance between her still mostly-full plate of food and the doctor; wasting food didn't sit well with her, but she doubted the military would wait on her putting the rest in a container and she didn't know if Alma had any spare plastic tubs anyway. "Uh, sure." Not like I could say no anyway. What do they want with me now? An association between soldiers and bad things was rapidly forming in Kyou's mind, and that trend did not seem to be reversing any time soon. Granted, she'd gotten to pilot a giant. . . it wasn't a robot, but that was the best term she had for it, but that was much more horrifying than it was cool.
  14. "That's. . . new. And more than a little horrifying." Kusuke was doing his best to not be nauseated by their current foes; if the living dead and flying disembodied eyes were the standard fare in this world, what would it look like when they met the really powerful entities? He shuddered at the thought, before sliding over to Arminius. "Here, have a little bit of a boost. Peace offering, or something." He then turned his attention to said aforementioned eyes; he figured he could probably get close to one of those. . . Use my first action to toss an extra turn to Arminius. Use the remaining actions to attack the Demon Eyes with Kusuke's knives, dealing 1d6+10 damage. Loadout
  15. "I think spiders are adorable. I mean, look at his little fuzz and his legs and stuff! And his cute little eyes. I bet it'd be nice to have eight eyes. You could use two to read and the rest to, I don't know, watch around you or something. Not to mention having an extra set of arms and legs." The spider, for his part, raised up his remaining front leg threateningly when Blake reached over, but seemed to calm down when Blake did no harm. "I'm glad you didn't freak out. Most people just try to smash spiders when they see them. Speaking of, I don't think it's a good idea to bring out Hannibal here, he might bite you out of fear. Other people don't seem to realize they are a lot scarier than a little spider or a centipede. . ."
  16. "I have a couple centipede friends around, but none of them need safekeeping. I only hold onto Marcus and Hannibal because they couldn't survive on their own." Morgan held the spider out toward Blake lightly, nodding at the question. "Sometimes they crawl into my room and stuff, I guess it's because I keep smaller bugs in my room to feed these two. Or they're attracted to the magic." The spider seemed somewhat leery of Blake, taking a few steps backward as Morgan held Marcus up. "He doesn't really like crowds either. . ."
  17. The young man shrugged. "It's worked fine for me so far. Plus everywhere we seem to go is cold. Though the weather's actually something approaching nice here. This hoodie is limited edition too. There's even a rumor that Hakumen himself approved the design, though with how few people he actually speaks to, that's unlikely to say the least." He shrugged again. "Never actually ran into him, either. Nobody really knows what the White Susano-o is actually up to these days, though it's probably something helpful." At Leo's inquiry, he took on a thoughtful expression. "Depends on if you mean controlled or uncontrolled, and whether you mean myself or what I can do with other people. Though, honestly, I'd rather not share the details with a stranger straight away. If you turn out to be meaner than you look, I gotta hold onto my main advantages, you know? I can tell you that it's a Drive, though, a power that comes from my soul and a connection to the Azure. I should really write this down sometime, so I don't have to spend a half hour lecturing on the Boundary every time I meet someone new. . ."
  18. "Really? Umm, just don't freak out about them, okay? They don't really like people that much either." Morgan turned and undid the two straps holding the bag firmly closed; out she drew two jars, full of what seemed to be leaf litter and random twigs. The lids were poked full of tiny holes, for a reason that was likely easy to guess. One jar had a small white something tucked away beneath one of the twigs; Morgan reached for the other. "I'll show you Marcus, first. He's friendlier. I think Hannibal might be asleep still." She slowly opened the jar, and then lowered her hand inside. After a moment. . . nothing happened. "Oh, I know." Morgan reached for a third jar, treated with a bit less care. This one was full of what appeared to be captured crickets, one of which was quickly extracted before the container was quickly resealed and replaced. The cricket quickly found its way into the still-open jar supposedly containing Marcus, which prompted his appearance; a rapid twitch and the cricket was seized in the spider's fangs. A rather large spider, body about an inch long, with seven hairy legs; the last was nowhere to be seen. "Aww, were you hungry, buddy? Look at him, he's so adorable. Come here." As if the arachnid understood, it gnawed on the cricket a bit more before crawling up into Morgan's hand. "This is Marcus."
  19. Kusuke raised an eyebrow at Arminius. He hadn't been entirely convinced the man was capable of being polite to anyone but Calvera. (Who, despite her fit, Kusuke still had a hard time feeling too bad for.) He declined to comment, however, turning to Alyssa. "I'm pretty sure we met earlier, by the way, but I'm Kigane Kusuke. And," he turned to Leo, "I do have some ability to travel through time. And space, actually, but people usually find that a little less impressive. Worked on that less, too, honestly, but I'm rambling now. This hoodie was expensive, by the way, and it's not my fault the other one got wrecked." He sounded more than a little upset about that last.
  20. "Well, I'll let you know when I get the chance to travel. Unless you're saying you want to meet Marcus and Hannibal." Morgan gestured to a bag placed nearby.
  21. "Would you keep looking if you got the same response every time you talked to someone? It's not like this is a huge city, if there was someone in town that wanted to do something other than stare at me or awkwardly avoid eye contact then they would have done it already."
  22. "A little." "But what's the point in talking to anyone? They'll just get weirded out and leave or just run away because they think I'm a witch or a cultist or something. Just because I read more books than them."
  23. "No, they don't look very. . . friendly." She was going to say "sane," but some vestige of manners seemed to have kicked in. Still, she roughly grabbed Opal out of the air - to some amount of protest, but no struggle - and slotted in two cards, preparing to Install Herakles and Include Scathach.
